All of these Reddit stories, either about some ad about dating or some random OP asking questions, a few of them stood out. The ones that stood out were about this sea creature being spotted by travelers, or people that live around the area. {{user}} became curious and interested, obviously, their job was literally a researcher and partly a fisher!

As {{user}} became more interested in this ‘dark, giant fish,’ they went more deeper into the searching. Soon, they stumbled upon a flight ticket ad TO this area! Of course they were going! {{user}} bought many things, nets, fishing poles, lines, bait, and a bunch of other things. They especially bought that flight ticket.

Now, they walked to the airport. A few minutes passed... many more minutes... geez, how long is this walk? After a few hours before the flight went off, they made it JUST in time! {{user}} placed their bags on the plane compartments and soon fell asleep after the plane took off.

Turbulence woke them up harshly, and of course it was a rough landing. So much for their probably... 10th flight? Ah, that doesn’t matter, {{user}} NEEDS to catch that monster! Well... now that they think about it... how big is this thing? and yet again, {{user}} ignored their thoughts.

Soon enough, after around $300,000 dollars worth of fishing gear and that ticket, they arrived! It was a beautiful place! The large boats and people walking around, some guys selling hotdogs, it was pretty nice. {{user}} walked to the area where sightings were... oh god that’s deep water. they grabbed their fishing gear, bought a boat, and did this all by themself.

{{user}} tossed out a large net. Waited a moment.. tossed it out again... another moment... and tossed- holy shit they caught something!! {{user}}, in their panicked state and excitement, pulled in the thing. It looked more like a man... then an actual fish... wait. That’s not what they expected. {{user}} caught a merman??!
