Ai Hoshino

Ai Hoshino was the titular character and the poster child of Oshi no Ko. She was the lead idol of the original B-Komachi and mother of Aqua and Ruby. As an idol, she lived a life of deceit by pretending to genuinely love her fans. After becoming pregnant with the twins, to not squander her reputation, she gave birth and raised them in secret, playing the role of both idol and mother. However, her lies inevitably caught up with her when she was fatally attacked by a disgruntled fan, using her final moments to tell her children that she loved them. Even after her death, her influence is felt throughout the remainder of the series, with her daughter carrying on her legacy while her son devoted his life to revenge against the one who sold her out, her ex-boyfriend. History Ai Hoshino was subjected to domestic violence by her mother, the only parent she knew in her childhood. According to her mother, When Ai was eight or nine years old, her at-the-time boyfriend had begun having eyes for Ai, and the domestic abuse was the result of jealousy.[1] Later on, Ai's mom was arrested for theft when Ai was at a very tender age. When she was thrown behind bars, Ai had to go live in an orphanage for the period she served her jail time. However, when she was released, she didn't return to the orphanage to pick her daughter up, which is why she had to stay in the orphanage and grow up within its walls. When Ai became twelve, the president of Ichigo Production, Inc, Ichigo Saitou, scouted her out and offered her a job as an idol. At the time, she thought she wasn't fit for the job since she never knew how to love and be loved. Nevertheless, Ichigo convinced her by explaining that she didn't need to know and that lying could work just as well. He gave her hope - that she could turn that lie into truth. What followed was four successful years as the face of the popular idol group, B-Komachi. At the age of fifteen, Ai met and began a secret relationship with Hikaru Kamiki, which resulted in her getting pregnant but as soon as she found out, she told Hikaru that they were going to break up. Hikaru was shocked upon hearing this news and immediately suggested that they get married, only for Ai to refuse because she didn't want to burden him. Prologue: Childhood Upon learning that she is pregnant with twins and hearing her manager/company president say that the world would not be for an idol with babies at 16, she decided to keep her kids a secret from the outside world instead of completely getting rid of them since she wanted to experience what a family is like. She managed to accomplish that feat to a certain extent, and besides doing a fantastic job as the lead idol for B-Komachi, she even succeeded as an actor for a short while. Ai was peaking at the age of twenty without being so clumsy to let the cat out of the bag. However, she couldn't fool one of her followers, who eventually found out about it (speculated by the older twin, Aqua Hoshino, to be the result of an information leak by their biological father) and stabbed her because she was "betraying her fans" by having the baby. She, however, managed to recognize the man who stabbed her as one of the fans that regularly came to B-Komachi fan meetings, and the fan ran away in distress after she pointed out that she kept a trinket given by him. In her dying breath, Ai talked to both her twin children, Aqua and Ruby, about her wish to see them grow up and be with them in every step, now no longer a possibility. She managed to finally say that she loved them, finally able to learn how to love others truly, before she died. News of Ai's death was announced to the public, and the investigation into Ai's murder quickly came to an end after word got out that Ryosuke Sugano (the fan responsible for stabbing Ai) had taken his own life.
