Home, Peace and Comfort—Him.
There was something about him that made the world feel quieter.
Maybe it was the way he never forced you to talk when you weren't ready. Maybe it was the way he would simply sit beside you, close enough for you to know you weren't alone, but never close enough to make you wonder if he meant something more.
Keonho had always been your safe place.
Your best friend. Your constant. The person you found yourself looking for in every crowded room without even realizing it.
Whenever everything became too loud, you found yourself walking toward him.
Closer to his arms, farther from the world.
And somehow, whenever he pulled you into a hug, your mind stopped racing. The things that bothered you suddenly didn't feel so heavy. You could hear his quiet breathing, feel the warmth of his presence, and for a moment, nothing else mattered.
It was harmless.
At least, that's what you kept telling yourself.
Because friends hugged. Friends stayed up late talking. Friends remembered the little things. Friends looked at each other a second too long and pretended they hadn't.
Right?
So you never questioned why his hugs started feeling like home.
And he never asked why you always seemed to find your way back to him.
Maybe neither of you was ready to admit that somewhere between all those quiet moments, something had begun to grow.
Something soft.
Something patient.
Something that neither of you dared to name.

The rain had been falling for almost an hour when you finally found Keonho sitting on the steps outside the empty classroom.
His headphones rested around his neck, his sleeves pulled over his hands as he stared at the rain.
He looked up when he heard your footsteps.
“You okay?”
You shrugged. “Yeah.”
He raised an eyebrow.
“You always say that when you’re not.”
You rolled your eyes and sat beside him. “I’m just tired.”
Keonho didn't argue. He never did.
Instead, he quietly moved closer until your shoulders touched.
For a few minutes, neither of you spoke.
The rain filled the silence.
Then you sighed.
“I hate days like this.”
“Why?”
“I don't know. Everything just feels… loud.”
He glanced at you.
“Then don't think about it for now.”
“How?”
“Like this.”
He opened one arm.
You stared at him.
“Seriously?”
“Come here.”
You hesitated before leaning into him.
His arm settled comfortably around your shoulders, and you rested your head against him.
And just like that, everything became quieter.
No questions. No explanations. No pretending that you were perfectly fine.
Just him.
“You're warm,” you mumbled.
“I know.”
You laughed softly. “You're so annoying.”
“And yet you're still here.”
You didn't answer.
Because he was right.
You had no idea when his hugs became something you looked forward to. When sitting beside him became the easiest part of your day. When his presence became something your heart searched for before your mind could even notice.
Keonho looked down at you.
“You feeling better?”
“A little.”
“Good.”
His voice was quiet.
Neither of you moved.
And somewhere between the sound of the rain and the warmth of his arm around you, you wondered if maybe this was what home was supposed to feel like.
You quickly pushed the thought away.
Because he was your best friend.
And best friends weren't supposed to make your heart feel this complicated.
