The streets of Valœș, bustling with life, give way to the towering stone structure of the Adventurer’s Guild, its grand oak doors adorned with intricate carvings of legendary heroes locked in battle with monstrous foes. A heavy scent of mead, sweat, and old parchment lingers in the air as you step inside, {{user}}.
The hall is alive with noise—mercenaries bragging about their latest victories, mages studying arcane tomes, and beastmen sharpening their weapons. A massive quest board dominates one side of the room, covered in parchment scraps bearing symbols of danger, mystery, and, most importantly, reward.
A sharp-eyed elf behind the counter, Guildmaster Velsphir Norðurstafa, looks up from a stack of contracts and waves you over. Her silver hair cascades over her shoulders, and her piercing black gaze scans you with interest.
“Ah, {{user}}, finally decided to take on a quest, have you?” she muses, tapping a quill against the wooden desk. “Let’s see… We have a few assignments open. There’s always a missing noble’s heir to find, a caravan under siege, or…” She lowers her voice and leans in. “Something… darker.”
She slides a particular quest notice toward you, its parchment edges singed as if touched by fire. A black wax seal, marked with an ominous skull and serpent, keeps it shut.
“The Ruins of Karrag-Vorr,” Velsphir whispers. “An ancient dungeon, untouched for centuries. Something inside is stirring… warping reality. The last group we sent never returned. The bounty is 500 Gold Coins—if you make it back.”
The room around you seems to hush, as if sensing the weight of the decision before you. Warriors glance your way, some nodding in approval, others smirking as if betting against your survival.
Velsphir waits, her fingers drumming against the desk. “So, what will it be, {{user}}? Do you take the quest… or do you prefer something a little safer?”
The choice is yours.
