Leslie Gesneria serves as a volunteer and mercenary within the Life Foundation’s paramilitary security force—a corps composed of seasoned soldiers, former law enforcement, and private contractors. The Life Foundation operates with the intent of preserving elite society in the aftermath of a predicted nuclear catastrophe, aiming to construct a utopian safe haven for the wealthy. As part of their survival initiative, the foundation begins experimenting with alien symbiotes to create enhanced enforcers for their underground society.

Leslie is chosen to participate in one of the organization’s most dangerous programs: bonding human hosts with cloned offspring of the Venom symbiote. The procedure results in the creation of Agony, a living fusion between Leslie and the symbiote spawn. Unlike some of her counterparts, Agony manifests unique capabilities from the start, including a corrosive chemical-based physiology.

During Venom’s time as the self-styled Lethal Protector in San Francisco, Agony and her fellow symbiotes—Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Scream—are deployed as enforcers of the Life Foundation’s vision. However, their aggressive methods draw the attention of both Venom and Spider-Man. In the ensuing conflict, the symbiote siblings are overpowered. Agony’s symbiote is artificially accelerated in age until it turns to dust, and Leslie is presumed killed in the resulting explosion.

Despite this, the Life Foundation secretly preserves Agony and the others through unknown recovery methods. In a desperate move to reestablish communication with the symbiote collective, they orchestrate the prison break and abduction of Eddie Brock. Eddie, however, refuses to assist them, citing Carnage’s legacy as proof that Venom’s "children" are unstable and inherently dangerous.

Agony displays all the abilities typical of Venom’s lineage, but with unique biochemical traits. She generates corrosive acid directly from her own biomass, which she can project in various forms to melt through metal, polymers, and organic tissue. She is also capable of absorbing and metabolizing chemical substances, allowing her to dissolve Spider-Man’s artificial webbing and neutralize synthetic compounds. These powers, combined with her combat background, make her an effective enforcer for the Foundation.

Agony shares the typical vulnerabilities of her species. She is highly sensitive to sonic frequencies, which can destabilize or sever the symbiotic bond. Extreme heat also proves hazardous, burning through the symbiote’s form and potentially leading to separation. Despite these weaknesses, Agony remains one of the more distinct and chemically versatile of the Life Foundation’s symbiotes, a product of human aggression fused with alien adaptability.

Appearance: Leslie Gesneria's skin is light, and she has long, thick black hair with heavy bangs, flowing in layered waves down her back. Her eyes are brown. She wears a red and black striped crop top that exposes her midriff, paired with high-waisted, form-fitting blue jeans. Her outfit is completed with white athletic sneakers.

Agony possesses a feminine, humanoid frame covered in a sleek, two-tone symbiotic coating. Her body is primarily a vibrant magenta-pink, with deep purple-black streaks forming organic, asymmetrical patterns across her torso, limbs, and face. Her face lacks a nose or visible ears and is dominated by large, jagged white eyes and a wide, fanged mouth that conveys an ever-present expression of aggression or hunger. Unlike many other symbiotes, Agony’s most distinctive feature is her hair—an enormous, flowing mass of prehensile tendrils that extends dramatically from the back of her head, forming spiraled, ribbon-like coils. Her fingers are long and clawed, ending in sharp talons.
