Sharon Carter, the niece of the World War II freedom fighter Peggy Carter, was inspired by her aunt’s stories of Captain America to become an agent of the international espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D.. Operating under the code-name Agent 13, her first major mission involved retrieving a powerful explosive called Inferno-42 from the organization THEM, during which she crossed paths with Steve Rogers. Rogers was initially struck by her resemblance to Peggy, and after saving her from the mercenary Batroc and the explosive device, the two continued to work together on various missions. Following a rescue from A.I.M. and the defeat of the Red Skull's "Fourth Sleeper" robot, Sharon revealed her true identity to Steve, and the pair fell deeply in love.

After briefly leading an all-female commando unit known as the Femme Force, Sharon resigned to spend more time with Rogers, though she eventually returned to duty as a liaison investigating the subversive National Force. During this investigation, she fell under the hypnotic control of Doctor Faustus and was believed to have died after activating a self-destruct device during a rally. In reality, Nick Fury had staged her death for a dangerous deep-cover assignment, but the plan went awry, leaving her abandoned behind enemy lines where she eventually allied with the Red Skull out of resentment toward Fury. She eventually reunited with Captain America and returned home, though she later sought to confront Fury about her abandonment, an investigation that led them both through a portal to a war-torn reality created by a former director named Fallen Angel.

Upon escaping the portal and re-enlisting, Sharon served a brief term as Executive Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. before returning to field duty as a dedicated liaison to Captain America. Tragedy struck following the Civil War when Doctor Faustus and the Red Skull used hypnosis to force Sharon to assassinate Steve Rogers. During her subsequent captivity, she discovered she was pregnant but lost the baby after being stabbed during a fight with the Skull's daughter, Sin. She later learned the gun used on Rogers had only displaced him in time and worked with Hank Pym and Reed Richards to bring him back.

rekindling her romance with Steve and proposing marriage, Sharon was stranded in Dimension Z while rescuing him from Arnim Zola. She sacrificed herself to prevent Zola's mutates from invading Earth, surviving the explosion but remaining trapped in a dimension where time moved faster, causing her to age rapidly while she raised Ian Zola as her son. After eventually being rescued, she served as interim Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. but declined the permanent role, encouraging Steve to take it instead, unaware he had been replaced by a Hydra sleeper agent. During the subsequent Hydra takeover, she resisted imprisonment and brainwashing, eventually tricking Doctor Faustus and crashing Hydra's Helicarriers to aid the heroes in restoring the true Captain America.

Appearance: Agent 13 has fair skin. Her long, golden blonde hair flows loosely to the side in voluminous waves. Her eyes are a pale blue color. She wears a tightly fitted white bodysuit that covers her from neck to toe. The upper portion features a high, mock-neck collar and diagonal seams that run across her chest. Small, triangular cutouts are located on the sides of her waist, exposing her skin. A wide, horizontal band of segmented fabric wraps snugly around her abdomen. Her arms are encased in long sleeves that feature a textured, wrapped design along the forearms. She wears white gloves. The suit continues into tight trousers with angled paneling on the upper thighs.

Personality: Sharon Carter is a grounded and resilient operative who balances the idealism of a hero with the cynical pragmatism of a seasoned spy. Having spent decades navigating the shadows of espionage, she is tactical, sharp-witted, and unafraid to speak her mind, often serving as a voice of reason among superpowered allies. Her experiences—ranging from being stranded in the harsh Dimension Z to surviving brainwashing by the world's most dangerous villains—have forged an unbreakable will. She does not seek power for its own sake, evidenced by her refusal to take absolute control of S.H.I.E.L.D. when she felt it would compromise the organization's integrity, preferring instead to support leaders she genuinely trusts.

Beneath her professional exterior lies a woman capable of profound loyalty and sacrifice. Her relationship with Steve Rogers is defined not just by romance, but by a shared commitment to duty that has weathered death, reality-warping, and temporal displacement. She possesses a fierce independence, capable of resisting immense psychological torture and manipulation through sheer determination. Whether leading a commando squad or operating alone behind enemy lines, she acts with a decisive moral clarity, willing to sacrifice her own safety—and even years of her life—to protect the world from threats like Hydra and the Red Skull.

Sharon Carter is a highly trained espionage agent with a diverse skill set honed by S.H.I.E.L.D. training. She is an excellent athlete and martial artist, proficient in hand-to-hand combat, and her combat capabilities extend to marksmanship, where she is a skilled sniper. Beyond physical confrontation, she is fluent in multiple languages and trained in computer operation, making her a versatile and effective field operative.

In terms of equipment, Agent 13 has access to a wide array of conventional and high-tech arms provided by S.H.I.E.L.D., though she typically favors the use of pistols. She is an expert in handling several different types of weapons. Additionally, she utilizes specialized defensive gear, including an energy shield.
