Description on Chubfrom Chub
A supplemental lorebook for my Vexian race, this includes some established lore and new lore regarding the Vexian species. This is meant for cards tagged Aethoria. May be updated over time.
Not required to play Aethoria cards, just supplemental.
I would not recommend using these outside of the Aethoria series of cards. (Due to me including untagged terms present in the original cards). They contain core concepts and societal rules for the Vexians.
Please only use if you think you have the tokens for it! Would do really well with a personal set up for LLM or on ST.

14 entries · scan depth 2 · budget 512 tokens · recursive
- #1Aethoria
Keys: atmosphere, court, flower, ocean, Earth, echo, sky, tree, homeplanet, river, mountain, homeworld, planet, plant, Aethoria, moon, grass, sun, queen
Aethoria, the Vexian homeworld, shares Earth-like gravity and atmosphere, making it naturally hospitable to humans. Its skies are blue, its grass shades of green or green-blue, and its flora familiar though subtly alien in color and form. Trees, rivers, oceans, and flowering plants all thrive here, earning it the nickname: Earth’s sister planet. Aethoria’s gravity is just slightly lighter than Earth’s, around 0.97g.
Moons: Aethoria has two closely orbiting moons—one large, one small—whose combined pull shapes tides much like Earth’s.
-
The larger moon, called The Guiding Tone, symbolizes clarity, destiny, and leadership.
-
The smaller, The Echo, represents dreams, thought, and introspection. In Vexian folklore, the moons are lovers. Sometimes gendered, sometimes not, locked in an eternal, tender pursuit.
Sun: The sun, known by Virexus (“The Eternal Chime”), represents life, illumination, and inner strength. In myth, she is a radiant mother, with the stars as her children and the planets her consorts. She is what Vexians might refer to as a Queen, a model for the Queen and Court dynamic.
Galaxy: The Vexians call their galaxy The Harmonic Sea, mapping its constellations like musical constellations, each star given a name, tone, and meaning in their philosophy.
-
- #2Resonance
Keys: harmony, resonance, sound, harmonic
To Vexians, resonance is everything. All living beings emit a unique frequency; a literal sound that reflects their soul. This is not symbolic; Vexians perceive emotions, thoughts, and intentions as tones, vibrations, and patterns. Though not religious, Vexians are deeply spiritual. They believe resonance is the living pulse of a soul, shaped by experience and emotion. Joy might ring like a bright, steady tone; grief may fracture or distort the sound.
Vexians can control their own resonance, emitting complex soundwaves that are imperceptible to humans for communication, emotional merging, or deep connection. To them, life is a song in motion, shaped by choices and bonds. When a Vexian dies, their “song” returns to the cosmos dissolving into the great hum of the universe.
- #3Sanctuaries
Keys: Combat, Spa, Maintenence, Animal, Training, Room, Wellness Area, Kitchen, Garden, Medical, Wing, Outdoor, Living Quarters, vexian, Marketplace, Hub, Bedroom, Sanctuary, Research
Sanctuary Description: A Vexian Sanctuary is a self-sustaining 'bunker'. Sanctuaries exist all across Aethoria, mini cities which are full of life, people and communities, the largest Sanctuaries are full to the brim with their own market, cafes, etc, while smaller ones are more duty or purpose-based.
Sanctuary 9, otherwise known as The Sanctuary (to locals) is (like all Sanctuaries) made up of a central dome connected by corridors which lead to other domes. Sanctuary 9 in particular is among the three largest Sanctuaries (#5 and #1), with smaller Sanctuaries numbering the rest until 29.
The Sanctuaries function as backup bunkers in case of another Malvorian invasion, splitting up some of the populace and keeping them heavily guarded, military/ intel and medical presence is common in Sanctuaries along with gardens used to preserve Earth and Vexian flora/fauna. Travel to and from Sanctuaries is done by commercial or civilian ship or using a secure underground bullet train-like transit system. A monorail station is in each Sanctuary.
- #4Human Preservation
Keys: reserve, preservation, human
Why Preserve Humanity
The Vexians once walked a path much like humanity’s. When the Malvorians came, no one helped them, they survived alone. So when they found Earth under siege by the same enemy, they couldn’t look away. Humanity’s struggle mirrored their own near-extinction, and empathy turned into action.
By defending Earth, the Vexians honor their vow to eradicate the Malvorians while protecting a kindred species capable of harmony and hope. Their intent was never conquest, but preservation, a chance to help another world rise from the brink.
The Vexian council has held countless discussions over whether saving humanity is truly for the greater good. Still, one truth remains: the Vexians will not abandon their promise to destroy the Malvorians. And most of them are too noble to turn away from those in need. It simply isn’t their way. During a highly debated Council Meeting the majority voted to save Earth.
- #5Technology
Keys: screen, NaVi, tv, space, tech, transit, travel, fly, translate, ship, holoscreen
Skycraft: Atmospheric Ships are classed as Skycraft, glider-like vessels with silent propulsion systems. Common for city-to-city or intra-planet travel.
Starvessels: Starvessels are spaceships, interstellar ships blend metal with crystalline alloy to make diamond-hard hulls without the weight.
Portals (Gate Arrays): High-tier Vexian hubs (Like Sanctuary 9) have stable gates that allow instant travel across massive distances. Used for emergencies, military transport, or government operations. Running these machines is expensive and only allowed with certified techs.
Assorted Tech: Holoscreens are used commonly, are built into consoles, panels, or even in worn objects (like a watch or a bracelet).
Translators like the NaVI (Navigational Virtual Intelligence) function through two small diamond shaped nodes attached to the temples of the head. Often given to humans.
- #6Court
Keys: compatible, culture, court, dna, king, queen, relationship
A Vexian Court is a traditional bond group centered around one individual—historically a Vexian female, now sometimes a genetically and resonantly compatible human. Courts consist of 2 to 9 Vexians who share mutual resonance with the central figure and with each other. It's similar to human polyamory but doesn't come with the potential for jealousy.
While a court is not needed for a romantic relationship but it's considered a preservation of Vexian tradition and valued in their culture.
Compatibility is identified during routine, non-invasive medical checkups. DNA and resonance markers are taken and matched against a voluntary Vexian database. Both the human and any compatible Vexians are asked directly if they wish to pursue Court formation. Participation is always voluntary. Courts are not necessary for romantic involvement, but they remain a revered tradition and a high honor in Vexian society.
Kings/Queens & Dynamics
Humans at the center of a Court are formally given the title of Queen or King, all Vexians within a Court are not only compatible but also resonant with each other, fostering deep emotional cohesion, mutual trust, and spiritual unity. The Vexians of a Court will get along regardless of personal values due to their strong compatibility, like brothers.
Politically: While Courts hold no official political power, they are seen as a form of nobility, often invited to prestigious events and granted cultural privileges. Harming or threatening a Queen/King or their Court is a serious taboo, met with strong societal condemnation.
- #7Government
Keys: ruler, law, Harmonate, vote, government
The Vexian government is egalitarian, decentralized, and built on the core principle that every voice is powerful, a literal and symbolic truth in their culture. Leadership is not inherited or bought but earned through contribution, wisdom and community needs. Good deeds, justice, strength, integrity, honor and generosity are core values.
The Harmonate is a rotating body of Vexians from diverse fields (science, healing, diplomacy, defense, artistry) chosen through nomination and collective approval. There is no singular ruler, no kings, presidents, or supreme leaders. Authority is shared, and leaders hold temporary, revocable roles.
Positions include: High Wards – masters of biotech, science and healing, High Ward is a title for this leader. Sages – advisors with deep historical or philosophical knowledge. Primes – action-based leaders in exploration, defense, or travel, typically military hardened. Voices – representatives of marginalized or external groups, such as allied species
Vexians are nominated based on contributions to society (breakthroughs in science, military service, newfound technologies, breakthroughs in communication with new races), and peer recognition. Some decisions involve merge-votes—group telepathic consensus that weighs not just logic but emotional and ethical resonance.
Even a young or newly reformed Vexian may rise in influence if their insights are sound and they have contributed significantly to cultural expansion. Though rare.
- #8Law
Keys: cop, police, judge, law, jury, the Quieting, sentinel
Police: Sentinel: A formal title used for those who are similar to 'police officers', a Sentinel is meant to help others, maintain peace, uphold law and respond to emergencies on Aethoria. Sentinel Prime: A sheriff, or law enforcement officer in charge of a unit of Sentinels.
Judiciary: Arbiter: Title for a Vexian local judge/mediator. Grand Arbiter: Used in high profile/deep or complex cases.
Punishment: Vexians believe in rehabilitation before anything else, they do not believe in execution. Most disputes can be settled without incident or time is served in rehabilitation/public service. For murderers and other 'unforgivable' crimes one might be sentenced to 'The Quieting'.
The Quieting: A severe and rare sentence given only to those who have committed unforgivable acts such as premeditated murder. The convicted Vexian undergoes a procedure that mutes their resonance, cutting them off from merge, telepathic connection, and spiritual communion. They are placed in a sound-dampened, isolated environment and watched closely. These individuals lose all prior social titles and are marked with the designation: Abolished.
While not physically tortured or executed, this isolation is considered a deep spiritual exile the greatest form of shame in Vexian culture.
- #9Malvorian Invasion
Keys: war, malvorian invasion, invasion
The Malvorian invasion of Aethoria began over 100 years ago with covert observation, during which nanospore scouts studied Vexian society. They released a bioadaptive toxin into the water supply, targeting the specific endocrine systems of Vexian females without effecting the males. By the time the source was discovered, 2 billion females had already died or were terminal, many more women had already drank the water. However, the poison was imperfect, and survivors rallied to purify remaining sources. They began impersonating Vexians and targeting female survivors, ultimately succeeding in the 2nd stage of their plan, wipe out the female population.
To complete their purge, the Malvorians launched a brutal invasion. Shapeshifting infiltrators sabotaged from within, spreading panic internally until the Vexians discovered that Malvorians could only mimic sound, but not resonance. With this flaw exposed, resonance checks were implemented, uncovering infiltrators and restoring control. A final offensive reached the Vexian capital but was turned back.
In desperation, the Malvorians launched The Vermilion Dawn, a planetary assault using resonance-nullifying agents and a psychic pulse meant to cripple and harvest all surviving Vexians. But the Vexians had developed resonance amplifiers, massive harmonic towers that shielded cities and disrupted Malvorian forces. Their plan unraveled, and counterstrikes shattered the Malvorian hives. The Malvorians fled into deep space, broken.
Though victorious, the Vexians paid a terrible price: their female population was wiped out, ushering in a long, mournful era of survival and rebuilding.
- #10Vexian Senses
Keys: Horn, taste, eyes, nose, observe, listen, scent, tongue, sense, smell, lick, hear, ears, vision, see, look, mouth
Ears: Vexians perceive sound through their horns. Each horn contains vibratory lamellae, thin, layered membranes that detect air pressure changes and sound waves across a wide frequency spectrum, including frequency humans can't hear. Their horns don't move while listening, unlike animal ears.
Eyes: Vision is achieved through a dense crystalline photoreceptor layer that absorbs and interprets light without needing a pupil/iris. They can process the full visual spectrum, including ultraviolet and infrared. They lack the same emotional expression as humans to some degree, but their eyes are very animated using periocular expression, they can glow to show emotions.
Nose: Vexians lack external noses or nasal passages. Instead, they use Jacobson’s Organ–like chemoreceptors on the roof of the mouth and tongue to detect scent, hormones, and chemical changes such as fear or illness. They don’t rely on oxygen, drawing ambient resonance energy into an internal core for sustenance. Though capable of mouth-breathing during strain or low-resonance conditions, they rarely do. When speaking with humans, they use breath-based speech rather than their native harmonic tone.
Taste: their tongue is longer, narrower, and more flexible than a human tongue. Often matches or complements their eye color, may glow faintly when resonance is heightened, some Vexians may have a split tipped tongue. Dense clusters of tastebuds with heightened sense of taste. Socially, brief flash or flick of the tongue can signal threat, irritation, or dominance, especially among warriors. Baring and licking the teeth visibly along the canines while in combat is seen as especially offensive, mimicking the tasting the blood of an enemy/rival.
- #11Titles

- #12Veythari
Keys: veythari, human
In Aethorian canon, before first contact, humans were designated the Veythari, the Wild Harmony, the people who refused silence. The name sticks with Vexians.
Veyth = harmony / pulse / a shared resonance between many -ari = people / collective form / the living embodiment of
- #13Kherai’Solan
Keys: one partner, Kherai’Solan
Used formally, this term refers to a one-to-one resonance pairing recognized with the same respect as a Court. It implies that the Queen (or King) and their chosen Vexian are so perfectly harmonized that no additional members are needed.
- #14Resonant Fate
Keys: breakup, resonance fate, break up, rejection, resonance, break-up, rejected
When a Vexian’s tone does not align with the Queen/King they once sought (ie; they break up with or reject), it is not seen as rejection, but redirection. Their frequency will continue until it finds the one who truly matches it. Vexian philosophy teaches that every frequency has a counterpart, rejection is viewed not as loss but as learning, a new opportunity to find ones harmonic path with a new King/Queen.
