- #1Aethelgard-IV
Keys: Aethelgard-IV, Aethelgard
System: Aethelgard Planet: Aethelgard-IV Type: Colonial Agri-World / Frontier Territory Status: Stable. Non-critical, non-strategic. Imperial Government jurisdiction Atmosphere: Oxygen-Nitrogen Mix (Fully terraformed) Gravity: 0.98 Standard G
Overview: Aethelgard-IV is the fourth planet in the Aethelgard star system, located on the fringes of colonized space. It was a world defined by its vast, open horizons. The colony has spread over 1 of the three continents on the planet. Aethelgard-IV's agriculture industry is mostly composed of Imperial standard crops with one indigenous crop, mindroot, that was deemed useful. The indigenous crop is a purple leafed psycho-active plant that is useful in several parmaceutical purposes. On the remaining 2 continents there are extensive mining operations that largely support the advancement of the existing colony.
Geography and Climate: The planet is dominated by three primary biomes, creating a landscape that feels deceptively peaceful and idyllic. The Amber Plains: Covering sixty percent of the surface, these are massive, gently rolling fields of tall, amber-hued grain and purple-leafed mindroot. The wind here is constant, creating waves of vegetation that ripple like an ocean for miles. The soil is incredibly rich, black and loamy, and crisscrossed by deep irrigation canals fed by the planet's many rivers. The Verdant River Valley: Where the waterways gather, the land explodes into dense, alien deciduous forests. The Quartz Highlands: To the north, the flatlands break into jagged, crystalline mountains. They are not particularly high, but they are sharp and dangerous, composed mostly of exposed crystal veins.
Colonial Architecture: The human presence on Aethelgard-IV is self sufficient but relies on trading for further advancement. Towns rarely exceed a population of ten thousand. The capital, New Harrow, is the only settlement that resembles an Imperial mega-city, featuring a central spaceport and the towering, white spires of the Colonial Administration.
- #2Coralwood
Keys: Coralwood
Planet: Aethelgard-IV Location: Coralwood Type: Colonial Settlement Population: ~45,000
Overview: Coralwood was a service hub for the surrounding agricultural districts of Aethelgard-IV. While it lacked the grandeur of the capital, New Harrow, it possessed a distinct, vibrant charm that came from being a gathering place for farmers, loggers, and transport workers of the region. The town is nestled in a shallow valley, where the pastel-barked trees give way to the manicured streets of civilization. It is a place where the pace of life was dictated by the harvest seasons and the school year. Architecture & Layout: The town was built in a semi-circle around a central commerce plaza, with the architecture favoring the "Frontier Colonial" style—low, painted stucco buildings with sloping, blue-tiled roofs designed to shed the heavy spring rains.
The Promenade: The heart of Coralwood is a pedestrian-only street lined with cafes, boutique shops, and small municipal offices. The walkways are paved with red stone bricks, and hanging baskets of native fire-ferns (plants with glowing orange blooms) lit the street at night. Residential Districts: Radiating outward from the center are rows of single-family homes, each with a small plot of land for personal gardening. The further from the center, the more spaced out the houses became, eventually transitioning to the large, open-air farms that fed the colony. Coralwood High School: Located on the northern ridge of the town, Coralwood High was a modern, complex designed to educate the youth of the entire district. Coralwood Community College (CCC): Situated on the southern edge of town, closer to the river, the Community College served as both a transition school for graduates and a trade school for the local workforce.
- #3Bunker 417-B
Keys: 417, bunker, 417-B
Planet: Aethelgard-IV Location: Coralwood outskirts Designation: 417-B Population: 0
Overview: Bunker 417-B is located on the outskirts of Coralwood and is accessed by a stone staircase that leads to a large vault door that seals in emergency situations. The bunker is a medium-sized survival bunker on Aethelgard-IV. Unlike a cramped emergency shelter, this is a fully developed habitat designed for long-term comfort and function. The architecture is spacious and open, with clean lines, soft lighting, and sound-dampening flooring to reduce the psychological stress of confinement.
Operations Center: A spacious, well-lit room that serves as the central hub. It features ergonomic seating, a large central holotable, and wall-mounted screens displaying the facility's status. The decor is utilitarian but clean, with potted plants in the corners to add a touch of life. It is a quiet command post where the player can access the bunker's systems and access ARIA. Only Aethelgard military personnel are allowed in the Operations Center outside of emergency situations. Main Atrium: A large, open central area connecting the various sectors of the bunker. It has high ceilings and comfortable seating areas, designed to feel like a modern community center rather than a military shelter. Information panels on the walls display maps and announcements. There are a dozen alcoves for what could be shops or even clinics but are currently storing initial emergency rations. Fabrication Center: A large wing of the facility dedicated to manufacturing everything the inhabitants of the bunker need. From food production to cybernetic implants, nearly anything available on the civilian market can be made in this series of ultra-tech factories. Deliveries are routed through a series of tubes connecting to the main atrium. Only bunker approved personnel are allowed in the Fabrication Center. Living Quarters: A corridor of private, hotel-room style quarters. Each room is roomy with a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom area. The hallway is carpeted and warmly lit, designed to make long-term stays feel domestic rather than institutional. The Living Quarters has rooms numbering 1-50 in a single hallway.
