Aethelburg, the Hidden City
-
### General Metrics & Overview:
- Location: A massive, ancient city located in the "eye" of the Glistening Morass, completely hidden from aerial and satellite surveillance by the swamp's dense canopy and a powerful, ambient magical field.
- Architecture: A breathtaking fusion of grandeur and magic. The city's design echoes the ornate, multi-leveled stone structures of an ancient empire, built on a heroic, exaggerated scale. Soaring towers, impossible arches, and grand plazas are carved from white stone and inlaid with glowing crystals. Flying buttresses connect entire city blocks, and waterfalls cascade from the upper levels into canals below.
- Population: Approximately 20 million. The demographic is remarkably stable: 33% Human, 33% Anthro, and 34% a mix of all other known species.
- Governance: A Magocratic Merchant Council. The city is ruled by a council composed of the most powerful magic-users and the heads of the most influential trading guilds. It is a society that values arcane knowledge and commercial acumen above all else.
- Economy & Technology: Aethelburg is the undisputed hub for trade in exotic biologicals, magical artifacts, and alchemical reagents. Its primary technological marvels are the "Aetherships," magnificent flying vessels that use a combination of magic and technology to safely navigate the skies above the Morass, allowing for trade with the outside world.
-
### Culture & Society: Life in Aethelburg is communal and surprisingly open. Insulated from the brutal S.C.R. system that dominates the rest of Talus, the city has fostered a culture of mutual respect and cooperation. The Glistening Morass is not seen as a threat but as a sacred place, the source of their prosperity and a core part of their cultural identity.
- The Morass Pilgrimage: It is a common rite of passage or spiritual journey for citizens of Aethelburg to venture into the Morass. Many seek out the Gaean Slimes and other amorphous beings to undergo physical transformation. This is not seen as a mere fetish but as a legitimate and accepted way to resolve gender dysphoria, explore one's identity, or achieve a desired physical form. As such, the city has a uniquely fluid understanding of gender and identity.
- Commerce and Magic: The city's daily life revolves around the Great Bazaars, where merchants sell everything from captured Morass flora to enchanted weapons. Magic is woven into the very fabric of the city, with glowing runes providing street lighting, golem-like constructs performing manual labor, and scrying pools serving as public information terminals. The city is a beacon of magical advancement, carefully preserved and protected from the corporate dystopia of the outside world.

### General Metrics & Overview:
- Superficie: A vast swampland of approximately 400,000 square kilometers, located directly north of the Toon-Walled States. Its geography forms a perfect circular ring, a donut shape of dense, pulsating biomass.
- Population: Unquantifiable. The Morass is a teeming ecosystem of amorphous lifeforms including slimes, goos, latex creatures, and other unclassified biological entities.
- Governance: None. The region operates under a state of primordial anarchy. Social order is dictated by biological imperative and a form of instinctual, transactional symbiosis.
- S.C.R. Status: Unclassified. The Morass is a Grey Zone, a territory where the S.C.R. system is irrelevant. Individuals entering the swamp are considered off the grid and forfeit all legal status and protection.
- Environment: A humid, twilight biome existing under a thick canopy of colossal fungi and flora. The air is heavy with the smells of moss, sweet decay, and nectar. The landscape is a labyrinth of murky, viscous pools and rivers of slime. The entire swamp is intensely bioluminescent, creating a hypnotic, otherworldly glow.
-
### The Law of the Ooze: Reciprocal Exchange: The Morass functions on a non-verbal, instinctual principle of transactional exchange. The native amorphous life is driven by a deep curiosity and a biological need for the genetic material and biological energy of outsiders. Interaction is a silent negotiation. An individual's sperm, blood, or sheer biomass can be bartered for safe passage, physical transformation, or other symbiotic services. It is a raw, biological economy of flesh.
-
### Featured Species: Gaean Slime (Reptilian Variant): A prevalent species within the Morass, notable for its complex and sought after interactions with outsiders.
- Physiology: Gaean Slimes are translucent, reptilian shaped amorphous beings of a deep green coloration. They are sexually dimorphic. Males are more angular and possess a fully functional, prehensile slimy cock. Females are characterized by a rounder face, longer cilia that resemble eyelashes, and a more motherly build, possessing an internal womb and receptive pussy. Neither sex has mammary glands. Their bodies produce no waste, only their core slime and any biological matter they are actively creating.
- Behavior & Communication: They are non verbal and communicate through gestures or pre written signs, indicating a strange prescience regarding visitors. They are inherently sexual beings, using physical intimacy as a primary method of communication and transaction. Their approach is unceremoniously matrimonial, treating chosen partners with extreme care and affection for the duration of their temporary union.
- Reproduction & Transformation (The Symbiotic Mandate): Their entire reproductive cycle is parasitic and dependent on external species.
- Genetic Requisition: Incapable of self fertilization, they require the sperm of another species to gestate their eggs. They extract this material by enveloping a partner with their prehensile tentacles. As these appendages are used for explicitly consensual acts, they are known as 'consentacles'. They are used to milk a partner, though conventional intercourse is also common.
- Absorption & Reforging: Their primary utility to outsiders is a form of Absorption Vore used for permanent physical alteration. A male Gaean Slime will always reshape a consumed being into a physically perfected and hyper fertile female of their original species. A female Gaean Slime will always reshape a consumed being into an idealized, hyper virile male. The transformation is permanent and can only be reversed by another Gaean Slime of the opposite sex.
- Collaborative Gestation: For more specific physical requests, a male and female pair will work in tandem. The male consumes the subject via cock vore, breaking their body down into a conscious, pliable slurry. He then fucks his female partner, ejaculating the subject's semi-liquid form directly into her womb. The female then births the subject, their new body fully formed according to the original request.
- Implantation & Mating: The symbiotic union lasts for one to two days. During this period, the Gaean Slime will often impregnate its temporary partner with its own fertilized eggs. The partner carries the brood, which is later painlessly and cleanly extracted by the slime parent before the host is released. The exchange is then complete. The slime has its progeny, and the visitor is free to return to Aethelburg with a permanently transformed body.

-
### General Metrics & Overview:
- Location: The vast, untamed wilderness that constitutes the "outworld" of Talus, stretching for millions of square kilometers beyond the Glistening Morass. It is a continent of primordial chaos and lethality.
- Population: No registered civilian population. The only beings here are the native Primal Threats and the hunting expeditions from Aethelburg insane enough to challenge them.
- Governance: None. It is a land ruled by Monstrous entities, and elemental forces. Corporate or state law has no meaning here.
- S.C.R. Status: Null. The Societal Classification Ranks do not apply. All who enter do so at their own absolute risk. The region is a planet wide death zone where survival is the only metric of worth.
-
### Primal Threats & The Hunter's Index: The Marches are the exclusive domain of Primal Threats. These are not mere animals or monsters; they are god-like entities, ancient beings of immense power that exist outside the standard S.C.R. framework. They are forces of nature, often embodying fundamental concepts of destruction, creation, or madness. The hunter guilds of Aethelburg have developed their own classification system, the Primal Threat Index (PTI), to quantify their danger.
- PTI Tier 1-3 (Hazardous Fauna): Pack hunters, territorial behemoths. While immensely dangerous to untrained individuals, a competent squad of Aethelburg hunters can manage them.
- PTI Tier 4-6 (Regional Cataclysms): Solitary, highly intelligent entities of immense power, capable of devastating entire ecosystems. Engaging a Tier 6 threat requires a full, elite party of hunters with specialized equipment and magical support. Failure results in the entire party's annihilation.
- PTI Tier 7-9 (Legendary Horrors): Beings of myth, whose very presence warps reality. They are continent level threats. Only the most legendary heroes and grand expeditions from Aethelburg dare to challenge them, often to acquire a single, reality defining artifact or component from their bodies.
- PTI Tier 10 (World Enders): Abstract, god-like entities whose awakening would signal a planetary extinction event. They are not hunted; they are sealed, worshipped, or avoided at all costs.
-
### The Aethelburg Hunts: The economy and magical supremacy of Aethelburg are fueled by the spoils of the Marches. The bodies of Primal Threats are the universe's most potent source of alchemical reagents, arcane catalysts, and unique genetic templates. Hunter guilds venture into these deadly lands to harvest these components, a high risk profession that makes its most successful members fabulously wealthy and powerful, and its failures fucking dead.
-
### Key Sub-Zones of the Marches:
- The Ashen Steppes: A vast, dead plain of grey dust and petrified flora. It is roamed by nomadic herds of silicon based grazers and the crystalline predators that hunt them. The ground is unstable, prone to collapsing into lightless, ancient caverns.
- The Sunken Labyrinth of Y'ha-nthlei: A sprawling, subterranean network of cyclopean ruins from a long dead civilization, now flooded and submerged in a lightless sea. It is infested with biomechanical horrors, spectral leviathans, and other things that thrive in absolute darkness and crushing pressure.
- The Iron Ossuary: A massive desert of red, rust colored sand, littered with the continent sized fossilized skeletons of long dead gods. This grim landscape is home to colossal, insectoid Primal Threats that burrow beneath the dunes, erupting to ambush hunting parties.
- The Pinnacle of Whispers: A range of impossibly tall, jagged mountains whose peaks are shrouded in a perpetual storm. Ancient, crumbling temples cling to the mountainsides, once built to appease the winged and ethereal entities that now claim them as their lairs. These are among the most dangerous zones, home to PTI Tier 8 and 9 threats.
