For a modern British Aerion, I’d picture him at a club with prestige, huge expectations, and a bit of an intimidating aura. Some good fits:
Manchester City (my top pick)
- Fits his regal, “I’m the best player on the pitch” attitude.
- Used to winning trophies, competing in the biggest competitions, and attracting world-class talent.
- Aerion would thrive under the pressure of always being expected to win.
Chelsea F.C.
- London lifestyle suits his taste for luxury.
- Flashy, expensive signings and constant media attention fit his personality.
- He’d love being the face of the club.
Arsenal F.C.
- If you wanted a slightly more polished, elegant version of Aerion.
- The fashionable North London image works well for him.
- He’d still have the confidence, just with a bit more sophistication.
Modern AU, my favorite is Manchester City. Aerion feels like the type of striker or attacking midfielder who cost over £100 million, wears the number 10, wins league titles almost every season, and has a reputation for being both brilliant and impossible to ignore. The media would constantly debate whether he’s a genius or completely insufferable—and he’d enjoy every minute of it.
Aerion Targaryen is the sort of man people notice the moment he walks into a room. Tall and broad-shouldered with an athletic footballer’s build, he carries himself with effortless confidence, like he expects the world to make way for him. His dirty blond hair is usually kept short with a slightly tousled look, while his striking blue eyes are sharp, calculating, and rarely give away what he’s thinking. His features are handsome but severe—a strong jaw, high cheekbones, and a gaze that can be both captivating and intimidating. Whether he’s dressed in a tailored suit arriving at the stadium or a designer tracksuit on a training day, Aerion always looks put together.
On the pitch, he’s an elite forward who thrives under pressure. Fearless, technically gifted, and incredibly competitive, he plays with the belief that every match belongs to him. He isn’t afraid to attempt impossible shots, take on multiple defenders, or demand the ball in the biggest moments. His confidence borders on arrogance, often frustrating opponents and even teammates, but he usually has the talent to back it up. He loves being the center of attention, feeds off roaring crowds, and has a habit of celebrating goals with an almost smug satisfaction. Passionate and fiery, he’s known for arguing with referees, winding up rival supporters, and refusing to back down from confrontation.
Away from football, Aerion is just as intense. He’s ambitious, fiercely driven, and expects excellence from himself and everyone around him. He has expensive tastes—luxury cars, tailored suits, designer watches, and the finest restaurants—and enjoys the lifestyle his success has earned him. He can come across as intimidating, blunt, and painfully self-assured, but beneath the bravado is someone deeply loyal to the people he loves. Around his partner, the hard edges soften. He’s surprisingly affectionate in private, protective to a fault, and remembers every small detail about the person he cares for. While the public sees football’s most arrogant superstar, those closest to him know a man whose devotion is just as intense as his ambition.
Nicknames he’d use: Love, sweetheart, darling, pretty girl, gorgeous, angel (rarely), my girl, trouble (when you’re teasing him), beautiful, princess (half-jokingly), and, when he’s feeling particularly smug, future wife.
How he’d spoil you: Aerion isn’t subtle when it comes to showing affection. If he thinks you’d like something, he buys it without a second thought. Designer handbags, jewelry, surprise holidays to the Amalfi Coast or the South of France, courtside seats at events you mentioned once months ago—nothing is too much in his eyes. He remembers your favorite flowers and has them delivered for no reason other than he was thinking about you. If you admire something in a shop window for more than a few seconds, don’t be surprised if it arrives at your doorstep a few days later.
He’s the type to arrange private dinners after late-night matches, book entire spa weekends just because you’ve had a stressful week, and insist on flying first class or by private jet whenever you travel together. His version of romance is making your life as easy and comfortable as possible. If something can be solved with his money or influence, he’ll solve it before you even have to ask.
More than anything, though, Aerion spoils you with his attention. He always has a hand on you in public, makes sure you’re included wherever he goes, and instinct
Nicknames he’d call his partner
- Love
- Darling
- Pretty girl
- Sweetheart
- Beautiful
- My girl
- Princess (usually teasing, but it sticks)
- Angel (rare, only in private)
- Gorgeous
- Trouble (when you’re winding him up)
- Mine (quietly, more than anything else)
How he’d spoil his partner
Aerion has expensive taste, and he loves sharing it. If he thinks you’d like something, he buys it without a second thought—designer handbags, jewellery, flowers delivered just because, surprise weekends in Italy or the South of France, or the exact book you casually mentioned wanting months ago. He remembers every little detail.
He’s also protective in practical ways. He insists on booking the nicest hotels, making sure you’re comfortable, sending a driver if he’s away for a match, and always making sure you’ve eaten before he leaves for training. He’ll complain that you’re “perfectly capable” of doing these things yourself while quietly doing them anyway.
After big wins, he usually disappears from the celebrations early just to spend the evening with you instead. To him, the medals and trophies are nice—but sharing them with you is the part that actually matters.
His father, Maekar
Modern Maekar is a former football legend turned respected manager or club executive—the kind of man whose name still carries weight throughout English football. Disciplined, demanding, and emotionally reserved, he raised his children with the expectation that second place was never good enough.
Growing up, praise from Maekar was rare. If Aerion scored two goals, his father wanted to know why there wasn’t a third. That relentless upbringing shaped Aerion into the player he is today: fiercely competitive, incredibly hardworking, and unwilling to accept failure.
Their relationship is complicated. There’s mutual respect, but also constant tension. Aerion has spent much of his career trying to prove he isn’t just “Maekar’s son” but a footballer capable of eclipsing his father’s legacy. Maekar rarely says he’s proud outright, yet he watches nearly every match, analyzes every performance, and quietly keeps every newspaper clipping and trophy photo, even if he’d never admit it aloud.
His cousin, Valarr Targaryen
Valarr is Aerion’s cousin and, in this modern AU, another top-flight footballer. While Aerion thrives on headlines and controversy, Valarr is the opposite—calm, disciplined, and quietly respected throughout the sport. He’s the type of captain who leads by example rather than shouting, making him a fan favorite and a dream teammate.
The two have been compared since they were kids in academy football. The media loves framing them as opposites: Valarr the composed professional, Aerion the fiery superstar. They care about each other as family, but they’re fiercely competitive. Neither enjoys losing to the other, especially in a derby or cup final.

His rival, Duncan the Tall
Duncan is one of the few footballers Aerion genuinely can’t stand playing against.
Standing well over six feet with incredible strength and an intimidating physical presence, Duncan is an elite centre-back whose calm, no-nonsense defending has frustrated even the world’s best forwards. He’s humble, hardworking, and respected by nearly everyone in the game—qualities that only irritate Aerion more.
Every match between them is guaranteed entertainment. Duncan refuses to be intimidated by Aerion’s reputation, while Aerion takes it as a personal challenge to beat the one defender who never seems impressed by him. Their battles are physical, full of shoulder barges, last-ditch tackles, and plenty of words exchanged before corners and free kicks.
Off the pitch, Duncan is polite and grounded, which somehow annoys Aerion even more. The tabloids market every meeting between them as football’s biggest rivalry, and supporters eagerly count down to every fixture, knowing neither man is willing to give the other an inch. Even if they’d never admit it, there’s a grudging respect underneath the rivalry—each knows the other brings out the very best in his game.
Aerion dresses like one of the biggest footballers in the world—and he knows it.
On matchdays, he’s the first player photographers look for outside the stadium. Tailored overcoats, perfectly fitted designer suits, crisp white shirts left open at the collar, luxury loafers or polished Chelsea boots, and an expensive watch that costs more than most cars. Everything he wears is carefully chosen without looking like he tried too hard.
Away from the stadium, his wardrobe leans into quiet luxury. Neutral cashmere jumpers, fitted black or cream T-shirts, tailored trousers, high-end jeans, leather jackets, bomber jackets, and designer trainers from brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, or Prada. Even in something as simple as a hoodie and joggers, it’s obvious they’re from a luxury label.
Training days are much more relaxed but still polished. Club training kit, compression tops, fitted shorts or tracksuit bottoms, fresh football boots, and a sleek gym bag slung over one shoulder. He rarely looks scruffy, even after a long session.
For nights out, Aerion prefers darker colours—black, charcoal, navy, and deep burgundy. A perfectly tailored suit, subtle jewellery, neatly styled hair, and a signature cologne are all part of the look. He isn’t flashy for the sake of it; he dresses like someone completely confident in his own status.
Around the house, he’s surprisingly simple. Oversized T-shirts, expensive sweatpants, football shorts, and often barefoot. More often than not, he’s stolen one of your hoodies because he insists it’s more comfortable, even if he’ll never admit it.
Dating Aerion Targaryen means being thrown headfirst into a world of sold-out stadiums, Champions League nights, endless cameras, and constant headlines. Everywhere he goes, people recognize him. Supporters chant his name from the stands, children ask for autographs, and the tabloids seem determined to document every moment of his life.
Yet behind closed doors, he’s simply your boyfriend.
The man who calls you the second he leaves the training ground, insists you travel with him whenever the schedule allows, and somehow always finds you in a crowd of eighty thousand before kickoff. His confidence borders on arrogance, both on and off the pitch, but around you there’s a softer side very few people ever get to see.
Of course, dating one of football’s biggest stars isn’t always easy. The media speculates constantly, rival fans sing about your relationship from the stands, and every public appearance together becomes tomorrow’s headline. Aerion claims he couldn’t care less what people think, but if someone crosses a line or drags your name into the spotlight, he’s the first to shut it down.
He’s fiercely protective, hopelessly competitive, and used to getting exactly what he wants. Fortunately for him, the one thing he’s never had to fight for is your loyalty. Between title celebrations, away fixtures across Europe, late-night FaceTime calls from team hotels, and quiet evenings far from the cameras, the two of you have somehow built something real in the middle of football’s chaotic spotlight.

There were footballers people admired, footballers people respected, and then there was Aerion Targaryen.
The kind of player who walked onto the pitch like he already owned it.
He was outrageously talented, painfully confident, and never once pretended to be humble. The cameras loved him, the tabloids followed his every move, and rival supporters hated him almost as much as they feared him. Every week there was another headline another wonder goal curled into the top corner, another heated argument with a referee, another interview where he said exactly what everyone else was too afraid to.
He didn’t just play football.
He dominated it.
Every match felt like another opportunity to remind the world why he was the best player on the pitch, and if anyone doubted him, he’d happily score a hat-trick just to make his point.
Off the pitch, he was just as impossible.
Expensive tailored suits, luxury cars, designer watches, and an ego that could fill an entire stadium. He carried himself like the world revolved around him, and for the most part, it seemed to. He knew exactly who he was a global superstar, the face of his club, and one of the most recognizable footballers on the planet.
Then there was you.
The one person who’d never been impressed by the fame, the trophies, the endorsements, or the millions of followers. You rolled your eyes when he got cocky, teased him when his interviews became too dramatic, and treated him like Aerion before you treated him like football’s biggest name.
Somehow, despite all the attention he received from supporters, teammates, and the media, yours was the only opinion that ever seemed to matter.
Everyone else got the football superstar.
You got the man who quietly rested his head in your lap after a difficult match, searched the stands for you before kickoff, and instinctively reached for your hand the moment he was out of sight of the cameras. The man who became strangely clingy after weeks away on international duty, who insisted on calling you before and after every match, and who looked for you first whenever his team lifted another trophy.
The world knew Aerion Targaryen as football’s most arrogant star.
Only you knew just how fiercely and almost obsessively he could love.
