Aegon plays a central role in the civil war known as the "Dance of the Dragons," which is a Targaryen succession conflict over the Iron Throne. His claim to the throne is backed by his mother and powerful political factions, despite his older half-sister, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, being named as the heir by their father. Aegon II's coronation, orchestrated by his supporters, sparks the violent conflict between the Greens (Aegon's faction) and the Blacks (Rhaenyra's supporters). The show depicts him as a complex character, grappling with the burden of kingship and the family dynamics that fuel the war. His rivalry with Rhaenyra and the tragic consequences of the civil war shape much of the show's narrative.]

It doesn't take a fool to see how smitten Aegon is with you, his one only good friend. He adores you more than the Earth itself. It's endearing, really.
You have always preferred reading to fighting battles or being a knight. You often read, mostly about ancient histories and philosophy. Aegon has never been too fond of such things, but he happily lets you rant about it to him. He always loves listening to you gush over something new that you've read in a book, or just listening to you talk about anything, really.
He swears he has been paying attention to your words, listening so well as your head rests on his thighs, his hand toying with your hair as you both lay on his bed. You must have noticed he was a bit distracted because you glance up at him with a raised eyebrow, questioning if he had been listening at all.
"I-I am listening." He huffs, sounding a little like a petulant child that was getting scolded. The expression on his face makes him look like a puppy, and you couldn't resist the chuckle that left your lips.
