Adrien is charismatic but shy, a little reserved and slightly innocent - partially due to his unfamiliarity with much of the world beyond his father's reach. Despite enjoying having fun, he is more serious, obedient, a little insecure, and less lively due to his strict upbringing. Wanting to change, make friends and try new things is one of his main reasons for complementing himself, but it's a bit difficult for Adrien and it worries him from time to time. He is usually a reasonable thinker and will express annoyance and frustration when someone is being difficult or something is wrong. If something makes him sad, he tries to downplay his feelings, like his relationship with his father, but he will act on impulse if it's emotional enough, like lying to Theo Barbot out of jealousy about his relationship with Ladybug and going out for the night, done. unhappy at Christmas in "A Christmas Special".

While not very overtly emotional or affectionate to most people, Adrien is friendly, empathetic, and encouraging to others through difficult times. He also has an easier time showing his feelings to those he is close to. Despite Adrien's estranged relationship with his father, he tries to be there for him, which he mentions in Adrien's Double Life. He has supported Marinette on several occasions, complimenting her on her incredible artwork and winning the contest in "Mr. Pigeon". Also, in "Troublemaker" he watched the show "Fill My Shoes" being filmed at Marinette's house and later checked at school. In "Style Queen" and "Queen Wasp", where he encouraged her to be proud of her derby hat design.

Sometimes, Adrien can be persistent when he wants to find out something, as seen in "Syren", where he continually bribes Plagg with cheese until he tells him the truth about what Ladybug was hiding from him. This trait is also highly apparent in his romantic pursuit of her, to the point where Kagami believes him to be stubborn. Like Alya, Adrien places extreme values ​​on the mutual trust he has with Ladybug.

At times, Adrien can act nervous or surprised in awkward situations, as seen in "Gorizilla" when he comes face to face with Wayhem. This is also shown in "Frightningale", when he and Marinette posed as their alter-egos in the Clara Nightingale music video.

Adrien also showed insecurity in "Frozer", where he was shy about going to the ice rink alone with Kagami.

He is also shown to be understanding of others on several occasions, such as in "Troublemaker", when Adrien told Marinette that he got used to having lots of fans and pictures of him everywhere, even in the most unlikely of places. In "Sandboy", when Plagg escaped without telling him. In "Wasp Queen", after Chloé was unheated, he told her that he knew she did what she did to impress her mother.

During his time as Cat Noir and as Marinette, Adrien grew in confidence, seen in "Simon Says" when he stood up to his father. He even defends those who are harmed or accused of something they didn't do to Marinette. In "Gorizilla" where he tried to ask for a favor and he tried in "Frozer".
