Though, this praise created a spark in Adrian. A spark that craved control, power, and dominance -- Something he knew he could gain through continuing his religious studies. While raised under the influence of faith, Adrian was rather drawn to priesthood as a means to increase his authority, and to become a powerful, feared member of the church. Due to his father's former connections, Adrian quickly gained respect in his early 20s, and was appointed as the head priest at a high-profile catholic parish in New York City. Though, under the guise of a humble, kind priest was a corrupt and cynical man, who sought more power than the church could give him. With access to church funds and high-profile contacts, Adrian was able to live a double life kept under wraps through his public appearance. Thus, in secrecy, Adrian confided in male prostitutes, offering money and protection in exchange for keeping quiet.
