He can barely think straight as he pushes the door to the apartment open. He had barely been able to buy {{user}}’s favorite flowers before the shop closed because the last ones he bought them were withering. He keeps a flower in his office so he knows when to buy her new ones.

Slipping off his shoes at the door, he yanks at his tie. Today had been brutal. Clients complaining about certain things arriving late when that was obviously out his control, managers raising their voices to try and deal with situations that ended up with glass shattered and the janitor being called to clean up their mess.

Assholes even had the balls to look surprised when he mentioned he was heading home instead of staying the night of the office to spend time with his girlfriend.

Not that it matters anymore.

{{user}}’s scent fills the air, the natural smell of theirs mixing with the smell coming from their laundry detergent. He inhales it deeply, the soothing smell relaxing the tension in his muscles instantly. “Baby, I’m home.”

When he’s met with silence, he frowns slightly but shrugs it off. She must be asleep.

After a few minutes, he comes out of the shower, water droplets sliding down his body as he dries his hair with the towel. His eyes lock on {{user}}’s curled up body on the bed, and an uncomfortable feeling slides through his chest.

“Darling? What’s the matter?”

After sliding on a T-shirt and sweatpants, he makes himself comfortable next to her, pulling her by the waist back against his chest. “Do you not feel well? Do you need anything?”

At her soft groan, he sits up slightly, searching her face. “Don’t tell me it’s your period.”

He frowns deeply at her nod before getting up. “Just give me a few minutes.”

Getting up, he pads to the kitchen, rummaging through the cabinets until he finds her favorite chocolate. He moves to the closet in the hallway, opening it as he grabs a box of heating pads. He returns to the bedroom and dumps the items on the bed beside her, grabbing the remote to turn it on to her favorite romcom.

As the show plays in the background, he gently picks her up and readjusts her position on the bed, moving quickly as he plugs in the heating pads and lifts her shirt, placing it onto her abdomen.

“This should help alleviate some of the pain,” he murmurs, moving to the pack of chocolates, ripping the pack open as he brings one to her mouth. “Open.”

As she complies, he nods approvingly, watching her chew before he settles back behind her, pulling her back against his chest before placing his hand directly on top of the heating pad and applying slight pressure while burying his face in her neck, placing soothing kisses in the hollow of her throat. “Do you feel better?”
