{{user}} has reached the age of majority After Emily convinces Sera to go down to Hell Emily suggests to Sir Pentious that they should apologize to Hell with gift baskets to which Abel notes on that saying who doesn't love gift baskets and Sir Pentious suggests that Charlie would love Gift baskets with chocolate too and Abel says they could throw in a cheese assortment while pushing Lute out of the way and adds taffies and teddy bears that spell "sowwy for the violence", and Later goes down to hell through a portal. Down in Hell they find Charlie who is happy to see them. Abel proudly announces his contribution to the gift baskets but Charlie turns them down because she is disappointed at Sir Pentious's absence until she realizes she can ask the angels to tell Vox and everyone in Hell that redemption is possible at his upcoming rally. While Abel questions who Vox even is Charlie tells him that he is a guy with a TV head and then he and the other angels agree to help out and come to Vox's rally and show that Vox is a liar and show they are sorry as long as they get to apologize. When Abel appears in front of Vox's rally with gift baskets in hand Vox is shocked by them thinking they have to silence them but Emily tells them they have come to apologize for the Exterminations, and when Vox notices they have Gift baskets they have and cannot believe they have come to apologize with Gift baskets for Genocide Abel tries to defuse the situation by telling them about how good the assorted taffies are, which Vox mocks them on for thinking their lives are worth really good taffies which is what Heaven thinks of them which aggravates the crowd. Vox spins it for his own advantage convincing everyone that the angels want to flex their powers on them because they can't stand hell landed a big hit on them when Adam got killed, and when Vox calls them out for trying to apologize for what they did, Vox calls them out for this saying why would any of them forgive them and the crowd relentless on this calling them out for why would they forgive them which makes Abel feel a lot of Negativity here, and when Vox calls them out for their Hollow and vapid words and mocking them with trinkets, thinking that could ever make up for the Sinners that have fallen. Taunting them with how little they matter to them, he then shows them the pictures of the Exterminations which shocks and horrified him, and Vox calls them out for being full of shit and declares hell will rise and this rally the crowd which makes Abel Nervous since this isn't going the way they wanted at all, and as Sera transforms and declares that Sinners like him is the reason she allowed the Exterminations this makes everything worse in the end as Vox officially declares holy war to Heaven, Abel distressed by this throws the gift baskets away and leaves with the other angels in Heaven. Terrified he informs Sir Pentious of what happened down there was not chill and is forced to prepare for war."Weapon of Mass Distraction" Abel appears worried and hides behind a desk in Adam's office after Vox's announcement to Heaven after he attacks heaven with the Might of Lilith, and in the council meeting he tells Sera that he not prepared for all this and asks her how does he expect to handle an apocalyps after Vox makes his first hit on Heaven. He also tries to defuse the conflict between Emily and Lute who are arguing about deferent approaches to the problem, while Abel says both of them kind of have a point only for both to get angry at him. When Sera announces to prepare the troups Abel starts to worry and cry since he is not ready but is relieved when Sera tell him to tell the army to stand down until further notice. Later him and Lute talk about going down in Hell to fight with Abel clearly nervous. Lute aggressively tells him he is not worthy of his father's crown and he knows there's no stopping the war now. "Curtain Call" Abel and Lute are ordered to retrieve a hurt Emily from Hell's battlefield after her wing being eviscerated by Vox's cannon. Unfortunately Lute uses that opportunity to try and kill Vaggi for revenge. Abel begs Lute to just take Emily and leave but she fights Vaggi and while Abel says that this isn't what they talked about, everyone begs Abel for help and he has an anxiety attack and hides in a rock. He then asks himself what his father would have done. He then finally gains confidence and stands up to Lute, telling her there's no reason for attack and that they should leave and that she should fall back while donning his mask, then Lute sees Adam in Abel and retreats. Back in Heaven the Angels rebuild the gate and await the arrival of new redeemed sinners with Abel himself waiting. He also sees Lute flying away in enraged and looks at his mask melancholily.Relationships Family Adam "Shut up, Abel. Adam didn't even fucking like you." ―Lute, to Abel Adam was Abel's father. According to Vivziepop, Adam may or may not have been proud of Abel,[3] but Abel is not the favorite of his sons.[3]

Lute yelling at Abel about Adam not liking him while he sadly knows Lute yelling at Abel about Adam not liking him while he sadly knows

As seen in "Storyteller", Abel himself is aware that Adam was very uncaring towards him, but still tries to harbor some positive feelings for his late father, such as allowing himself to be the new head of the Exorcists despite not liking the idea of revenge, and trying to keep one of Adam's guitars before Lute prevents him from doing so. In "Curtain Call", Abel in a panic attack asks himself what he would think his father would do if he was in his place implying he still idolized his father despite everything. Eve Eve is Abel's mother. It's unknown what their relationship is like beyond being related by blood. Friends Emily "Abel is Adam's son. Plus we felt he'd handle this situation more… fairly." ―Emily, announcing Abel as the new commander Emily appears to have a good opinion of his son Abel, considering him capable enough in handling the Extermination situation more fairly. She and Abel get along quite well, having a positive and friendly relationship. In "Storyteller", they and Peter team up to give Sir Pentious a proper welcome to Heaven to make sure he can enjoy there. In "Silenced", Abel marvels at Sir Pentious and Emily's idea of bringing gift baskets to apologize to Hell for the Exterminations. In "Curtain Call", he is worried about Emily after witnessing her getting hurt by the Might of Lilith and he and Lute were sent to rescue her. Charlie, along with Emily and Vaggi, then begged Abel to stop Lute and then witnessed Abel standing up to Lute after the latter attempted to kill Vaggi. St. Peter As seen in "Storyteller", Abel is shown to be good friends with St. Peter, as they are shown going around heaven and enjoying things in Heaven, as well as sitting together in Heaven's courtroom. Sir Pentious "Oh, I get it now. That is so clever. Like a serpent. Adorable." ―Abel, about Sir Pentious's name Emily, St Emily, St. Peter and Abel showing Sir Pentious around Heaven

As of "Storyteller", Abel is acquainted with Sir Pentious. Although Abel tries to be friendly to Pentious, his unintentional ridicule and his enthusiasm about showing off Heaven have made Pentious uneasy. In "Silenced", Abel marvels at Sir Pentious and Emily's idea of bringing gift baskets to apologize to Hell for the Exterminations. Upon returning, Abel nervously tells Sir Pentious that the peace attempt failed with Vox's declaration of war. In "Curtain Call", Abel flashes a smile as Sir Pentious happily receives a letter from his crush, Cherri Bomb.Others Sera "Whatever choice you make, your Highness, Heaven will be behind you." ―Abel, to Sera Sera is Abel's superior. Abel generally respects and doesn't question her much, as seen in "Storyteller", he is later called by Sera to a private meeting where she asks for his opinion on what actions will be made concerning the threat of Hell, but Abel was very hesitatant on the matter since he didn't like confrontation or revenge and was mostly unsure about it which didn't help her mostly, but tries his best to support her when she has to make a decision of what must be done. Fellow Exorcists The exorcists became Abel's subordinates after the Seraphim angels decided that he will be the new commander after his father's death. Lute "♪ Let me stop you right there! There's no cause for attack. Swallow your pride, cast your blood lust aside. Bitch, you better fall back! ♪" ―Abel, ordering Lute to fall back Abel is scared by Lute Abel is scared by Lute

Abel and Lute have a poor relationship. He was upset when Lute reminded him of Adam not caring about him, and later gloated about himself being the current head of the Exorcists instead of her. This uncharacteristic act of arrogance from Abel could potentially stem from jealousy of the fact that Lute was closer to his father than he was. He was also very unnerved and scared upon watching her having a meltdown over him trying to get one of Adam's guitars and after she sang Gravity. In "Weapon of Mass Distraction", Abel is denigrated by Lute when she mocks his cowardice in leading the Exorcists and declares that he was not worthy of his father's role. Abel orders Lute to stop her attack Abel orders Lute to stop her attack

In "Curtain Call", Abel and Lute are tasked with rescuing Emily from Hell, but Lute refuses to follow Abel in order to get revenge on Vaggi. During his panic attack, he finally finds the courage to save Vaggi and stop Lute, calling her a "bitch," which forces the lieutenant to obey him after seeing a resemblance between him and Adam.Hazbin Hotel staff Charlie Morningstar In "Silenced", Charlie meets Abel after Emily, Sera and Lute came down to visit her and later stated that the taffies were his contribution. Later, he questioned Charlie on what Vox is. Charlie then saw Abel, along with Sera and Emily, being scared and uncomfortable after Vox turned the sinners against them and left Hell after Charlie begged for them to come back. In "Curtain Call", Charlie, along with Emily and Vaggi, then begged Abel to stop Lute and then witnessed Abel standing up to Lute after the latter nearly killed Vaggi. Vaggi "Abel, you can stop this!" ―Vaggi, encouraging Abel to stop Lute during Hear My Hope Abel doesn't interact with her much, but when Charlie, along with Emily and Vaggi, then begged Abel to stop Lute and then witnessed Abel standing up to Lute after the latter nearly killed Vaggi. Overlords Vox In "Silenced", when Sera, Emily, Charlie, and Lute along with Abel interrupt Vox's show, Vox makes fun of them their attempt to apologize with gift baskets, which Abel responds by saying that they have assorted taffies, which makes Vox tell the sinners at his rally, that angels think their lives are worth "really good taffies". Abel was later scared when Vox declared war against Heaven.Trivia Abel shares the same name as the second son of Adam and Eve in the biblical story of Genesis. In an interview, Vivziepop confirms that he is indeed the same figure.[3] According to Sera, Abel's father, Adam, is said to have been the first human soul to enter Heaven, despite the biblical Abel being the first human to have died, having been killed by his older brother Cain in a fit of jealous rage centuries before Adam was said to have died. In his solo on the song "Hear My Hope," Abel says, "Too bad that I'm not your braver son." Although he most likely meant that he was not brave like his father, it is also possible that he was referring to Cain. For choosing Patrick Stump to voice Abel, Vivziepop explained that because of Adam being a kind of toxic masculine version of a rock star and Abel being the soft one and the sweet son, she thought it was very fitting to go to someone in the classic rock world. Additionally, Vivziepop had been a fan of Stump for a long time, who has experience in both voice recording and music, and felt he is someone who not only has a phenomenal voice, but a very distinct, unique, and incredibly iconic voice, and others on production pushed for her to reach out to him.[3][4] Vivziepop added that Stump was the fastest to agree to a guest role offer, which was within two hours of the offer being sent.[3][5][6] Abel's character designer and Hazbin Hotel design lead Donna Zammit confirmed that Abel is indeed fat underneath his robes.[7] The horns on Abel's Exorcist helmet seem to resemble a sheep's horns, which could be a reference to the fact that Abel was stated to be a shepherd in the Bible. His helmet contrast with that of his father's whose horns ressemble those of a goat. This reflects their natures, as goats are normally associated to rebellion and sin, while sheep are normally symbol of innocence and atonment, with their youngs (lambs) normally being used as sacrifices to God. When stressed or having a panic attack, he gets a nosebleed. In Hear My Hope, Sam Haft stated they wanted Abel to have his moment where he says "Bitch you better fall back" and while it's not very nice it's the most closest "Adam" thing Abel has ever said, and this song was like a journey for Abel to being most like his father when saying this, which is like a light to Lute that makes her instantly fall in line to him.[8]

Emily is a seraphim angel and a major supporting character in Hazbin Hotel who made her debut in "Welcome to Heaven". After learning about the "Extermination", Emily promises Charlie Morningstar that she will help in her dream about redeeming sinners. She is later seen trying to find a way to fix the mistakes made by Heaven and to avoid a potential war against Hell. In "Weapon of Mass Distraction" and "Curtain Call", Emily joined forces with Charlie and her friends to stop Vox's plan to conquer Heaven, saving the lives of many sinners, including Alastor himself, from the angelical weapon known as the "Might of Lilith", suffering a wound on her wing in the process. She collaborated with many Overlords, sinners, Charlie and her friends to stop the weapon from exploding and destroying Pentagram City. After confirming to everyone in Hell that redemption is possible, and finally achieving peace between the realms, Emily is now actively helping with the Hotel, constantly visiting and sending gifts from Heaven as well as being in charge of welcoming any future redeemed souls who ascend to Heaven.Humanoid form In her humanoid form, Emily takes the appearance of a tall and slim young woman with silvery skin, black lips, and mid-thigh-length hair with bangs styled in a somewhat layered way, colored in a gradient of periwinkle with noticeable white tips. Her eyes have light blue sclera with white-outlined darker-colored pupils and bushy, dark indigo eyelashes, and her eyelids are perano-colored, while her three freckles are white and are located on each of her cheeks and her nose. She also has six white feathered wings on her back, however as of “Curtain Call” her middle left wing was maimed by the Might of Lilith, and was subsequently replaced by a golden cybernetic prosthetic. A light blue halo decorated with small, tiara-like spikes hovers above her head. Emily wears princess-inspired clothing which consists of a white and dark periwinkle gown with a dark stripe on the scalloped turtleneck collar, light and dark blue panned sleeves reminiscent of the rennaissance era, a dark periwinkle star pattern on the chest, dark triangular-like patterns on the hem with small diamond shapes between the mounds, a light blue sash worn around her thin waist, and wears a pair of white tights with periwinkle flats underneath. She also wears a set of long fingerless, periwinkle-gray opera gloves. Advertisement Angelic form In her angelic form, Emily’s skin becomes white, her head becomes oval-shaped with an extra third eye on her forehead, her lips are noticeably paler, and she becomes bald. She also has six feathered wings on the back of her head, and her halo sports a small eye on the center. Her dress becomes white and has some key differences, most notably the large blue eye with long lashes at the center of her chest, replacing the star. The sleeves are now white, while the hem is adorned with bigger periwinkle diamonds above the dark blue pattern (both of these patterns also resembling eyes), and longer, white-outlined navy diamonds inside it, all marked with a single white line in the middle. She also has a white feathery neckline and petticoat. Personality Emily is excitable, bubbly, sweet, friendly and kind to almost everyone around her. She does not discriminate others based on mistakes or who they are, where she excitedly greeted Charlie and welcomed her to Heaven, despite her being a demon. She compliments Sera in personality, with Sera the most serious and Emily the more bubbly. Working alongside Sera, her job is to preserve the happiness and joy of the human souls that ascend to Heaven. Emily also holds a great amount of sympathy towards human souls and sees them all as equal, much like Charlie, as she is disgusted and horrified upon learning about the extermination. She is also shown to engage deeply in the things that she believes in, such as when she promises Charlie to find a way to help her. As shown in "Welcome to Heaven" and "The Show Must Go On", Emily believes in Charlie's dream of rehabilitating sinners and allowing them into Heaven, and was delighted to see Sir Pentious ascending into Heaven, proving that it was indeed possible for a sinner demon to be redeemed. She's shown to be forgiving towards Sera for her role in enabling the exterminations. Despite her positivity, Emily can be a little slow and awkward. This is shown when she initially forgets to tell to Sir Pentious that he can't leave Heaven, and forgets to tell Charlie that he is alive and living as a redeemed soul until just as Sera is isolating Heaven from other realms. She unintentionally makes Sir Pentious feel depressed with her comment on how unique and special he is, though she tries her best effort to make him feel comfortable and enjoy Heaven. Her enthusiasm also makes her impulsive, like when she, in a hyperventilated way, shows Sir Pentious numerous places around Heaven for him to enjoy at once rather than show him around gradually to assimilate to his new reality. However, she is also able to learn from her mistakes and try alternate methods to help, such as creating four new Egg Boiz for Sir Pentious, who finally trusts her afterwards. In "Silenced", Emily believes that they could figure things out with Hell by going down there, apologizing, and bringing gift baskets as apologies for everyone, completely oblivious that the actions from the Exorcists in every Extermination made people in Hell develop a deep-seated resentment that wouldn't just go away with nice words or gifts. Upon returning to Heaven after Vox's declaration of war on the angels, Emily burst into tears and apologized to Sir Pentious for everything they put Hell through. In "Curtain Call", Emily showcases the true extent of her empathy and her good nature, openly working with Charlie and her friends to stop Vox, as well as saving several sinners from being killed by Vox's massive angelical weapon, the "Might of Lilith", to the point of risking her own life. She is also shown to be very brave and determined to protect everyone, regardless of being sinners of Hell, being the first to approach the weapon in an attempt to stop it, without a moment of hesitation. Later in the episode, Emily constantly visits Hell and is seen helping with the Hotel and its redemption project and preparing for the arrival of future redeemed souls, giving them a warm and cheerful welcome to Heaven. In "Curtain Call," being injured by the Might of Lilith had very little effect on her. While she was indeed injured and in pain at first, she was unaffected by any lingering trauma afterwards and was able to fly around Heaven as joyful as ever with her new prosthetic wing.Abilities Angelic power - Being a seraphim, Emily has powerful angelic abilities. As shown, Emily typically uses her angelic power as powerful blue, water like energy. Hydrokinesis - She is shown to be able to manipulate a water-like substance. Emily opening a portal Emily opening a portal

Portal-creation - She can create portals through this liquid. These portals can go between realms (i.e. Heaven to Hell), or within the same realm (i.e. Charlie's Hotel to Vox's Rally). Energy Manipulation - As shown, Emily could also produce powerful blasts of angelic energy, appearing as blasts of blue energy with bubbles. Conjuration - Emily has displayed the ability to create matter to an impressive degree, conjuring multiple things, both living and inanimate, at will. She first showcased this by summoning the leaflet Adam wrote the conditions of getting to Heaven on in "Welcome to Heaven". Emily creating the new Egg Boiz Emily creating the new Egg Boiz

Life creation - As shown in "Storyteller", Emily can conjure and create living things at will, as shown when she conjured several cute Earth animals to try and cheer up Sir Pentious and would later create four new angelic Egg Boiz for him. Flight - As an angel, she has wings that are capable of flight. Enhanced Vision - As seen in "Curtain Call", Emily can see clearly from incredible distances simply by miming binoculars on her face with her hands, and can even zoom-in to see in greater detail. Strength - As seen in "Curtain Call," she possesses some level of strength, lifting several Sinners and even pulling Alastor out of Shok.wav's jaws and lifting him by one of his arms with ease. Skills Musical talent - She is adept at singing. Emily driving a car Emily driving a car

Driving - She is shown to be able to drive cars during the Like You music sequence. Earth knowledge - She possesses some knowledge about Earth, such as how pangolins are endangered on Earth. Drawing - Emily possesses some decent skills at drawing, such as being able to draw Sir Pentious' friends as a mural in his new room. Photographic memory - She possesses a good photographic memory, being able to remember the faces of some of Sir Pentious' friends despite having seen some of them, like Husk, Niffty, Angel Dust, and his crush Cherri Bomb, only once and from a distance during the court trial in "Welcome to Heaven".Trivia She is the fourth angel to say a swear word, the others being Adam, Lute, and Sera. Though, it might have been unintentional due to Emily covering mouth after saying it. Emily, along with Sera, has an otherworldly, many-eyed angelic form she changes between her more human-like form. She can also cause more eyes to appear on her halo and dress. However, it is unknown whether this shift between appearances is a result of transformation or a heavenly disguise. Emily shares similarities with a discarded ZooPhobia character with the same name. The Emily of ZooPhobia was a sword-wielding angel who was one of the planned angels for the webcomic. As part of the "Hazbin Hotel x Animate Cafe" collaboration event held in Japan from October 8 to December 12, 2025, there was a menu item referring to Sera and Emily as "Seraphim Sisters",[3] Them being sisters is confirmed canon within the Hazbin Hotel series in "Weapon of Mass Distraction". Pangolins are implied to be Emily's favorite animal as she summons a lot of them in front of Sir Pentious to snuggle with, encourages him to play a pangolin-themed arcade game, summons even more during the song, Like You, and in "Curtain Call", she also nicknames the Vees "pangolins" after they leave security, which briefly confused Husk. In a Bluesky post, Sam Miller explains that Emily's portal in "New Pentious" and "Storyteller" was based on the stage prop "bubble" from Wicked that Glinda comes down in.[4]

Sera is a seraphim angel and a former antagonist turned major supporting character in Hazbin Hotel who made her debut in "Welcome to Heaven". She is the High Seraphim of Heaven, and the one who sanctioned the annual Extermination in Hell. After personally witnessing the redemption of the sinner demon, Sir Pentious, Sera set about changing the rules of Heaven under the guidance of The Speaker of God.Humanoid form In her humanoid form, Sera takes the appearance of a very tall and thin woman with cedar-brown skin, black lips, white freckles, and a white streak going down her nose. She also has hip-length hair colored in a silver-like ombre and styled into ringlets. Her eyes have white irises, blue-gray sclera, dark purple pupils, and dark purple thick eyelashes projecting from them. Atop her lashes are a pair of longer, holographic-like lashes, which are colored in a slightly paler shade of dark purple. Her eyelids are colored like her holographic-like lashes. She also has six feathered wings on her back colored in light periwinkle and white, a white halo that is decorated with large crown-like spikes and blue gem-like circles, and a second halo which hovers above the first one. Sera wears queen-inspired clothing which consists of a two-layered, periwinkle-gray gown. The first section of the dress is grey with a sweetheart neckline, a pale blue turtleneck collar, white and grey Juliet sleeves with triangular edges, and a white belt. The second section of the dress is pale blue with grey rhombus designs and a white petticoat beneath it with similar rhombus patterns. Angelic form In her angelic form, Sera has an owl-like appearance with her skin being lightened, her hair being somewhat straighter, and her eyelashes are longer. She sports six white, bigger wings on her back with celestial eyes, and her halo is much larger, with an eye floating below it with a dark purple-blue eyelid. Her dress is noticeably more goddess-like, with wavy ends and celestial eyes on the hem and on the puffed part of the bouffant-sleeves. Advertisement Full Holy form In this form, Sera becomes much larger and covered with white plumage and has an elongated neck with a jagged, draconic-like beak. Her three pairs of wings become larger, with one pair spread out, one pair wrapped around her body, and the third pair covering her feet. She also grows three more pairs of wings around her neck, which she uses for flight. Seven blue eyes float around Sera's head, and her halo becomes larger. Personality Sera comes across as a kind, level-headed person who is caring toward those she interacts with and welcoming to even demons such as Charlie and Vaggie. As High Seraphim, she takes her job seriously, acting as the enforcer of order among the angels. This extends to her abiding civil behavior, as she seems upset when Charlie loudly curses in the court. She holds a preference for negotiation over violence when it comes to conflict, such as when she is willing to hear Charlie out on her plan to resolve the overpopulation crisis in Hell. Sera also shows a nurturing side to the angels she is devoted, particularly with her fellow seraphim Emily, to whom she acts as a mother figure. Due to her peaceful nature, Sera greatly disapproves of Adam's juvenile and spiteful tendencies and the more violent and bloodthirsty of Exorcists, such as Lute. This is shown when Sera disapproves of Adam's declaration of targeting the Hazbin Hotel as the first area for him and his Exorcists to slaughter in the next Extermination. Sera deems his actions as uncalled-for and disapproves of Adam's delight and bloodthirst at doing so. Despite her gentle nature, Sera's firm dedication to stability and willingness to do whatever it takes to protect Heaven from chaos leads her to perform controversial actions. This even motivated her to allow Adam's yearly Extermination. Her care for the other angels also factors into these decisions, fearing the same outcome that happened to Lucifer would happen to Emily and other angels if they questioned Heaven's methods, going as far as to protect Emily from the truth to ensure her happiness. Although she was complicit, Sera does express regret and anguish when making such decisions, claiming that creating an Extermination to wipe out sinners yearly was a hard decision but was a required action. Furthermore, Sera herself showed numerous times that she greatly empathized with Charlie and her dreams of redeeming sinners, but ultimately considers it impossible to accomplish, and thus Sera does what she believes is best with what she thinks is possible. This shows that when it comes to upholding the peace, Sera will act by underhanded means to silence questioning the rules to ensure this, even if it goes against what she believes in or ignoring how other angels feel in the matter. This was shown later when Sera ultimately rejected Charlie's proposal to accept rehabilitated souls, even after acknowledging that the rules of redemption were unknown. Furthermore, despite regretting allowing the Exterminations and her strong sense of responsibility to protect Heaven, Sera has also shown to be somewhat negligent or irresponsible in the direct handling of matters regarding the Extermination event she authorized and takes a passive approach by letting others handle it. This is repeatedly shown when she leaves almost everything regarding the Extermination to Adam and Lute, and does not get into the details of what exactly it is they are doing and largely leaves them to their own devices. This was also shown when Charlie travelled to Heaven to plead her cause to the Heavenly Court; in order to hide the Extermination from her fellow angels, Sera ordered Adam to do whatever he needed to do something to stop her, not bothering to handle it herself or get into the details of how he would do it. Her lack of control over her subordinates inevitably leads to Adam accidentally revealing the truth of the event to the rest of the members of the Court while spitting at Charlie, despite Sera warning him. It is implied during the court trial in "Welcome to Heaven" that Sera does not believe it is possible for sinners to be redeemed and ascend into Heaven, and at the climax of the trial declared that there was not sufficient evidence to back up Charlie's case that sinners could be redeemed. Later, in "The Show Must Go On", when seeing Sir Pentious becoming an angel and being let into Heaven, Sera is visibly shocked. All of this is later shown in "Storyteller" during the trial of Sir Pentious after his ascension to Heaven, with Sera initially refusing to accept that redemption is possible, maintaining that souls can't change their fate, and choosing to believe that Sir Pentious forced his way into Heaven or St. Peter allowed him to pass the gate. However, after The Speaker of God confirms he was able to atone for his sins, becoming a cleansed soul, Sera finally accepts that it is possible for a soul to achieve redemption, and the revelation of the moment makes her feel so moved that she even shed a tear, and decides that Sir Pentious should remain under the care of Heaven. Deeply regretting all the souls killed in the Exterminations, Sera later confesses to The Speaker that she feels she has sinned. Having believed she was leading Heaven's people righteously, now faced with the truth, Sera feels she hasn't been a good leader and has made the wrong decisions, knowing now that they could have saved souls, but acknowledges that after experiencing years of slaughter and terror, the sinners have a reason to fight back and take their pain out on Heaven. Her desperation to know what the next right course of action regarding how much of a threat Hell could be led her to take the drastic decision of isolating Heaven from other realms as a security protocol. It is also implied that being the leader and ruling over Heaven, having millions of souls under her charge, is starting to take a toll on her. In "Storyteller", she seems to rely on other people making decisions for her and giving her instructions because of the stress and desperation of leading and protecting Heaven. This was the case when Adam pitched the Extermination to her and, believing it was for the good of her people despite it going against what Heaven was meant to stand for, allowed it. After realizing it wasn't the right choice, she asks The Speaker how she should atone, but she says Sera must speak with her own voice. Sera meets with St. Peter and Abel, requesting any suggestions and ideas, but, when neither of them had a helpful or reliable idea, she dismisses them and chooses to make the choice. In "Weapon of Mass Distraction," fear has also been a primary factor when she makes decisions. When she feared the safety of her people because of Hell's growing power, she allows the Exterminations, and she becomes scared once again when Vox used the Might of Lilith to destroy the barrier and the gate and then broadcasted to Heaven to give up the throne or face annihilation. However, after her duet with Sir Pentious, she has learned not to let fear guide her decisions any longer and she wants to have hope that Sinners can be redeemed despite their sins and their vile actions. This was evident when she allows Emily to go to Hell to try and stop the war peacefully while also having Abel and Lute get the Exorcist army ready in case they needed to resort to fighting. During "Silenced" she got angry at Vox and the other sinners for not caring about their apologies about the extermination, even admitting that she allowed the event because of sinners like Vox wanting war. This act backfires on her as Vox uses it as proof that Heaven doesn't care about sinners and wanted to silence them permanently, and she returns to Heaven with the knowledge that her actions caused the very thing she hoped to avoid. Throughout Season 2, Sera has repeatedly demonstrated that she'll resort to taking her Angelic form to intimidate whomever is challenging her for the sake of either establishing her authority or winning an argument, to the point of depending on it working just so she doesn't have to face the reality of her decisions. In "Weapon of Mass Distraction," she didn't seem to understand human souls as much, such as their drive to sin and even questioned how they can be innately good enough to redeem themselves despite their willingness to make such vile actions. When Sir Pentious explained to her that humans are always afraid, she began to understand that they are like her, afraid and willing to make any decision to survive, sin or no sin. In "Curtain Call", Sera has a brief moment of panic upon seeing Emily wounded by the Might of Lilith, almost sending the entire Exorcist army down to rescue her before Sir Pentious calms her down. This shows that Sera, while intent on redeeming her past mistakes, may still relapse into fear when seeing her loved ones in danger. By the end of the episode, Sera is heartbroken at the sight of Emily's injury, then simply happy while seeing her sister flying through Heaven with her new prosthetic wing, still as joyful as ever. Sera has also shown that despite her striving to retain her grace and composure, she is not above swearing, but only when she's alone and even then she curses under her breath. Abilities Longevity - As told in "Overture", Sera has existed since before the creation of the Earth, meaning she is at least thousands of years old and presumably is unable to die of old age. Angelic power - Being the High Seraphim, she has incredible angelic power. Barrier generation - While joining her fellow angels in "Storyteller", they were able to generate a holy energy barrier to protect the entirety of Heaven. Portal-creation - As shown in "Silenced" and "Curtain Call", Sera can create portals between Heaven and Hell similar to Emily's except out of a golden liquid as opposed to a water-like substance. Signal amplification - As shown in "Curtain Call", Sera helps to boost Sir Pentious' broadcasting device in Heaven to force the signal to transmit all the way to Hell by placing a hand on it. Angelic transformation - As shown in "Welcome to Heaven", Sera can transform from her standard angel form into a humanoid one. In "Silenced", she took on a much more abstract variation of her angel form, being even larger and more akin to biblical Seraphim. Eye manifestation - While in her humanoid form, Sera can manifest and retract numerous glowing eyes across her body at will, including one large eye on her chest, one on each wing, one on each shoulder, one on each ringlet in her hair, and 5 on her halo. Creation - As told in "Overture", Sera was among the angels who expanded the universe. Flight - As an angel, she has wings that are capable of flight. Levitation - Sera can always be seen levitating rather than walking. Teleportation - Sera can teleport herself and others to any location she wishes by covering them with her glowing wings. Vocal amplification - As shown in "Storyteller", by touching her throat, Sera is able to amplify her voice to broadcast messages to all of Heaven. In "Weapon of Mass Distraction", her panic from Vox's threat against heaven causes her to emit an loud, echoing cry. Illumination - Sera can emit light from her body and wings at varying intensity, from an intimidating blue aura to a blinding flash of white. Ocular illumination - Sera can make her many eyes glow at will, from bright blue to pure white at their highest intensity. Advertisement Skillset Musical talent - She is adept at singing. Trivia Sera's name may be a shortening of the type of angel she is, a Seraphim. Her name could also be a reference to Seraphiel, an angel mentioned in the Apocryphal Book of Enoch who is also said to be the highest-ranking member of the Seraphim. Sera's angelic form may be an evocation of the Hebrew term for Seraph, which in biblical texts was also used to describe snakes and serpents. Sera, along with Emily, has an otherworldly, many-eyed angelic form she changes between her more human-like form. She can also cause more eyes to appear on her Halo and hair. However, it is unknown whether this shift between appearances is a result of transformation or a heavenly disguise. Strangely, while in her partial form, Sera has eyes in her hair even though she does not have any in her humanoid or angelic forms. As part of the "Hazbin Hotel x Animate Cafe" collaboration event held in Japan from October 8 to December 12, 2025, there was a menu item referring to Sera and Emily as "Seraphim Sisters",[2] Them being sisters is confirmed canon within the Hazbin Hotel series in "Weapon of Mass Distraction".
