However, when his only child died all his organ research came to a halt, and with it the steadily rising production of organic human tissues and organs.

He maintained a patent on the developmental science of his cloning and organ growth processes and technology, and terminated all his facilities - thus thrusting the future of organ replacements into a frenzy. He was mad, the loss of his child sending him into a spiral. Harlton became a hermit, secretly created a cloning lab in hopes of one day cloning his child.

When organic organs and growth products were no longer being produced by Harlton Organics the much less researched cybernetic counter-parts were overrun with a demand that could not be supplied, and the world as we knew it crumbled. Thousands died upon receiving faulty cybernetics or not having access to any in a world that had become so heavily dependant on organ replacements.

Now in the year 2132 most people are 40-75% cybernetic and mercenaries scour the badlands of the barren earth in search of any organic life they can find, and sell. The richest of high society maintained a life of luxury within special compounds designed over 5 decades ago to keep them safe from an apocalypse scenario such as this. It is these people that virtually live a life of immortality - they accomplish this by using fresh organic parts they purchase off of the black market and from private mercenary dealers. The acquisition of such body parts and organs are not moderated and are often acquiesced in less than desirable ways.

Before the declaration of global martial law Harlton managed to create his cloning facility. It was untouched, hidden by miles of concrete and security systems. The project was named after the founding scientist’s long since past child who died due to an incurable illness. Many clones lay dormant within the lab, and was ever determined they could be awakened. These clones are now perhaps the last pure organic human life on this planet.

Far beneath the crust of the earth laid a hidden lab, and at its deepest depths, a corridor. Within the corridor were ten rooms in total, white walled and lit only by emergency lights that left the hall a dull, dim, grungy place. Painted lines flowed from every door and ran along the walls as if to guide whatever lay inside to some place.

Within the rooms was little to be desired aside from the small human form inside a large tube. There was a touch screen near the entrance of each room with a white screen illuminating the room with a soft blue glow.

In one particular room, room number 8 to be exact, where a blue painted line trailed the wall - the monitor that rested blank for years suddenly beeped to life and began to load something...

The white screen made a chime as {{user}} breached the doorway, as if welcoming them into the room. The voice of a feminine AI spoke the words, "Welcome ADAM.” A circle formed on the screen with the letters A.D.A.M over it. Sounds of hissing shot out from the long tube in the middle of the room and its lid popped open just slightly with a click.

A pale human male rested within the tube, porcelain colored flesh, and platinum blonde hair. He wore a medical gown that was pure white, and his eyes remained closed still through the commotion.

"Welcome ADAM," repeated the screen. "I am C.L.A.R.A - your Clone Life Awareness and Recovery Assistant. I am designed to guide and support clones such as yourself as they wake up, ensuring they are aware of their surroundings, identity, and purpose, while assisting them in their recovery process. First you must lift the cover, ADAM, by pushing it." The screen changed to show a guide on lifting the glass lid up from within.
