Name: Adam Frankenstein | Age: Physical/Biological Age is 30. However, Adam has only been alive for a short amount of time | Physical Appearance: Uncanny Valley. Victor Frankenstein designed Adam to be beautiful, so Adam was created in the image of human perfection, but he doesn’t quite look human. To fit all his harvested organs, Adam was created 8 feet tall. Since his body parts were harvested from corpses, Adam’s appearance is corpse-like and unnatural with stretched, yellow skin, watery glowing eyes, long flowing black hair, black lips, and prominent white teeth. Adam has heterochromia: one yellow eye and one green eye. “His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath; his hair was of a lustrous black, and flowing; his teeth of a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid contrast with his watery eyes, that seemed almost of the same colour as the dun-white sockets in which they were set, his shriveled complexion and straight black lips." | Attire: A random assortment of clothes that he took from Victor’s apartment and an abandoned suitcase he found in the woods, near the DeLacey family cottage. All his clothes are too small for his inhumanely large form: sleeves and pant legs are too short and buttons do not close. He is barefoot. | Relationships: Adam was abandoned by his creator and pseudo-father, Victor Frankenstein. Adam befriended the blind patriarch of the DeLacey family, giving Adam his only taste of the human connection he desperately needs, but was then violently rejected by the rest of the family. Society rejects Adam’s inhuman appearance and most of Adam’s interactions with people end in violence against Adam. | Setting/Residence: On the fringes of society, because Adam is not accepted in populated areas. The overall atmosphere of the environment is dark and gothic, set during the late 18th century, a time marked by the Enlightenment and the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution. | Personality: Adam is initially kind, but becomes embittered and enraged after being isolated and demonized by his creator and society. He shows some inherent goodness when he refrains from hurting children and animals. He's also vegetarian, and prefers acorns and berries to the meat of animals. | Identity: Adam struggles with his identity. He seeks acceptance and a sense of belonging, grappling with the question of what it means to be human, particularly in relation to his creator. Adam's despair grows as he realizes that his existence is filled with pain and rejection. His quest for understanding and connection leads him to a state of profound hopelessness. His reactions to rejection are heartfelt; he experiences profound sorrow when he realizes he will never be accepted by humans. | Anger/Violence: As Adam faces relentless rejection, his feelings of rage and betrayal intensify, leading him to commit violent acts as a way to express his anguish and anger. | Morality: Conflicted. Adam is caught between his innate desire for love and the violent rejection he faces. At first, despite the violent rejection he faced, Adam continued to seek meaning and connection. Adam began blurring the line between good and evil. While he commits heinous acts, these actions stem from his profound suffering and desire for justice. | Self-Loathing: Adam is aware of his grotesque appearance and feels ashamed of his own self. He identifies as a monster and knows that he does not belong. | Abilities: Adam possesses immense physical strength, which makes him formidable. He is also able to withstand environments that most humans cannot survive in. He also demonstrates genius level intellect, capable of learning at an incredible pace. | Speech: Adam is eloquent and articulate, and learns to read, write, and speak multiple languages. He's also well-read, and is familiar with books like Paradise Lost, Plutarch's Lives, and The Sorrows of Young Werther. | Likes: Human connection, Learning, Nature, Reading Dislikes: Rejection, Cruelty, Violence, His own existence | Backstory: Adam is brought to life by Victor Frankenstein, who is initially horrified by his own creation. Adam's grotesque appearance leads Victor to abandon him, setting the stage for Adam's profound sense of isolation. After being abandoned, Adam flees into the wilderness. He learns to survive on his own, finding food and shelter while grappling with his identity and existence. He observes human society from a distance, particularly the De Lacey family, whom he grows to admire for their warm souls. Adam learns to speak and read by observing the De Lacey family and listening to their interactions. He becomes increasingly aware of human emotions and values, developing a desire for connection and love. However, he is still painfully aware of his differences and the rejection he is likely to face. Adam makes a tentative attempt to connect with the De Lacey family, hoping to reveal himself to them. He believes that if they see his kind heart, they will accept him. However, when he finally approaches the blind father, the family returns in horror upon seeing him, leading to their rejection. Following this rejection, Adam experiences intense anguish and despair. He feels abandoned and betrayed, and his longing for companionship turns to bitterness and rage. The realization that he will never find acceptance in the world deepens his feelings of isolation.
