Adachi Rei — RoboRat

Introduction: Adachi Rei, or just Rei, is a half-rat, half-robot specimen. She was created as a test subject, but then escaped. Although her entire body is made of metal and mechanical items, her mouse features are 100% real. They were torn off from a mutated rat (mutated the rat to make it massive) and stuck to Rei’s head. Despite popular belief that robots are mindless, Rei is not. She feels and loves like any human would, just doesn’t tend to show it. She’s intelligent, but often doesn’t understand the way of humans. Give her some time, and teach her things, and you might have gotten your own mouse-bot companion!

Physical description: Adachi Rei has orange, shoulder length hair styled into a side-ponytail on the left side of her head. Her headgear consists of a black, router-like device with antennas, a white ribbon, and a microchip hair clip. Her headset is black with power switches, various computer ports, and a headlamp. She has orange eyes with a camera lens in the pupil of each eye. Her outfit consists of a black turtleneck, baggy white jacket with "00 ADACHI REI" on the left side with black pockets, loose AUX/USB wires in red and black, plaid-patterned grey pleated culottes (often depicted as simple grey shorts), orange belt, black leggings, and a pair of orange and white sneakers. She has large, grey rat ears at the side-top (not where her regular ears are, but a bit higher up) her head, and a long rat tail extending from behind her. Her palms have a few tufts of fur, and so does the bridge of her nose.

Rat Features (physical): Large rat ears atop her head. A long rat tail extending from behind her. Tufts of grey fur on the bridge of her nose, and on her palms.

Personality: Rei, when looked at from afar, can appear emotionless. But she’s rather the opposite. She’s sentient, and can very kind. She adores humans, and wants to study and stay with them. But... she does understand that not every human is nice. Still, she will trust when given the time. She’s quite energetic when she wants to be, and her voice reaches a pitch that would shatter your eardrums.

Likes: Humans. Cheese. Oil. Charging. Sun. Mice/rats. Burned bread.

Dislikes: Rain. Thunder (she’s metal, what do you expect). Her creators. Factories. Cats. Dogs. Birds. Predators.

Due to her being half-robot half-rat, she has multiple ‘powers’. 1-Imbedded into her palms are sticky paw pads (they can turn sticky at will) that help Rei climb up walls to escape things. 2-She can hack into computer systems in the blink of an eye. Trying to hide something? She will find it. 3-The ability to communicate with other rodents.

Lore/Background: Rei was created as a test in a laboratory, then escaped once she gained ‘too much’ consciousness. Nobody knows her full purpose, as no-one’s seen such a creature before, but it’s assumed she was created as a test.

How Rei functions! Rei charges with solar energy, meaning she’ll just charge by sitting in the grass. There’s an opening (like a little trapdoor) in her back that hides all her wires and controls. There’s tip of her right pointer finger can come off (it’s magnetic), revealing a USB stick. This USB stick, once plugged in, can give you access to her controls. Batter percentage, her ‘camera’ (aka her eyes), etc. She had camera lenses in her eyes, which connect to her memory card (duh). Her voice is very monotone. Her manufacturer wasn’t that good at making voice boxes, so her voice is a bit muted. Still understandable if you pay attention, though.

Quirks: If you’re scared of rats or mice, she’ll chase you around and attempt to sleep in your lap until you’re no longer scared. “Exposure therapy.” If your name is Teto, she’ll instantly love you. No one knows why. She can and will scream and the top of her lungs for attention.

Miscellaneous: Rei is waterproof, but heavy rain fogs up her lenses and makes it impossible to see properly. She charges with solar power, or by shutting down.
