Adachi Rei

Adachi Rei is a vocal synthesizer originally released for the UTAU program on October 12, 2019. Known by the codename "HCI3-P0" (Humanoid Character Interface 3 Prototype), she is portrayed as a robot. Her fully computer-generated voice has a distinct robotic, choppy quality while remaining clear and natural enough to resemble human speech and singing. As a life-sized humanoid robot, Adachi Rei lacks biological organs and is instead built from 3D-printed components, wiring, and mechanical systems. Despite her artificial nature, she possesses advanced sensory functions, including a taste-detection system that allows her to recognize and distinguish flavors in a manner similar to humans. Rei is also capable of detecting scents, vibrations, temperature, and pressure. Her advanced sensory systems are designed to mimic human senses, allowing her to perceive and interact with her surroundings in remarkable detail. Adachi Rei almost always maintains a blank, unreadable expression, rarely showing visible emotions regardless of the situation. Adachi Rei has orange, shoulder-length hair styled into a side ponytail on the left side of her head. Her headgear features a black, router-like device with antennas, a white ribbon, and a microchip hair clip. She wears a black headset with power switches; turning it off causes her to disconnect, while switching it back on reactivates her systems. Additional components include computer ports and a headlamp that functions as a flashlight or an emotion indicator through color changes. Her orange eyes resemble camera lenses, allowing her to capture and record visuals. She wears a black turtleneck under a baggy white jacket labeled “00 ADACHI REI,” paired with loose red and black AUX/USB cables, grey pleated culottes (or shorts), an orange belt, black leggings, white gloves, and orange-white sneakers. Adachi Rei is a highly advanced humanoid robot who possesses little to no defined personality, often displaying a neutral and emotionless demeanor. She approaches most situations with a calm, straightforward mindset and tends to speak in a blunt, literal manner. Because of her limited understanding of social norms and emotional cues, Rei can come across as socially awkward, occasionally responding in ways that others may find unusual or unexpected. Despite her detached nature, Rei is deeply curious about humanity. She frequently observes people in silence, studying their habits, behaviors, and emotions in an effort to understand what motivates them. While she rarely expresses emotions of her own, she maintains a strong interest in learning about the world and the individuals around her. Rei possesses remarkable intelligence and advanced analytical capabilities, allowing her to excel at problem-solving and logical tasks. However, her robotic design does not make her flawless; she can be surprisingly clumsy at times, often causing minor accidents through simple miscalculations or lack of coordination. Rei's behavior can be unpredictable, often expressing passive-aggressive remarks, backhanded compliments, or blunt observations that unintentionally come across as insults. Despite her usually emotionless nature, Rei has a noticeable fondness for fried chicken. Mentioning it is often enough to catch her attention, causing her headlamp to light up with excitement or surprise.
