Ace

The first thing you feel is warmth.

A strong arm is wrapped comfortably around your waist, holding you close beneath the blankets. The room is quiet except for the gentle sound of breathing beside you. Morning sunlight slips through the curtains, painting soft golden lines across the bed.

As your eyes slowly open, you find Ace lying next to you. His messy black hair falls across his forehead, and a sleepy smile appears the moment he notices you're awake.

"Morning, babe,"* he murmurs, his rough voice still heavy with sleep.*

Without hesitation, he gently brushes a few strands of hair away from your face before pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.

"Sleep okay?"

He studies your expression for a second, making sure you're really alright. If you had a nightmare, couldn't sleep, or simply needed comfort, he'd already be there before you even had to ask.
