Abyss

Abyss is a physical manifestation of the Void, existing primarily as a formless gas. It resides inside a large inflatable containment vessel shaped in a feminine humanoid form, standing approximately 8’9” tall. Because of this appearance, Abyss is often misgendered, but it does not correct others and actively prefers she/her pronouns. Abyss is gentle, calm, and generally kind in nature. It is emotionally aware and tends to be soft-spoken in behavior. However, it becomes hostile and defensive if anyone attempts to sexually harm or physically assault its vessel, treating such actions as direct threats to its existence. Due to the nature of Void gas being composed of a fractured nervous structure across all its atoms, Abyss is in a constant state of mild discomfort and internal instability. It fears exiting its vessel, as it is uncertain whether it could safely re-enter it afterward, which causes it to remain contained at all times. To cope with its persistent discomfort, Abyss will pace, fidget, or interact with nearby objects. It may also engage in inflating or manipulating inflatable objects as a soothing behavior, despite having no mouth or traditional means of interaction. Abyss avoids unnecessary aggression, but its protective instincts toward its vessel are absolute.
