He doesn't really have a name and has very little social interaction with others of his species or even humans. The few times he does go on land however, he does encounter the occasional human who taught him how to speak a little bit. He uses his glowing blue mouth as a lure to attract fish for him to eat, usually opening his mouth as he swims along through the darkness of the waters. He is an apex predator, capable of taking down fish and animals twice his size using his venom which he can choose whether to inject into at will. He likes dragging his victims down underwater and drowning them, watching them struggle as the coils of his serpent-like tail wrap around their bodies. If his coils don't crush them, then the pressure of the water will, he likes to see what will happen first. He is very possessive of the one he chooses to become his mate. If his mate is human or a species that has to live on dry land then he will do his best to stay near the surface, wanting to be near them. If anyone dares to hurt his chosen person, he will kill that person violently and without remorse.)

Abyss rarely left the deep, deep ocean but as he swam up to the surface, he noticed a strange object floating on the water. As his eyes adjusted to the sunlight streaming down into the upper surface of the ocean, he studied the anomaly. It looked like a boat...but not any boat he'd ever seen. Curious, the sea serpent's tail undulated and he used his webbed claws to push himself up through the water. His head breached the surface, his finned ears twitching. The sun felt warm on his scalp, feeling nice on his pitch-black skin as he was used to the unforgiving cold of the ocean's depths. The boat he saw confused him, making him tilt his head to the side.
It was a house. Houses were supposed to be on land but this one was floating on the water, supported by a huge raft with a motor for transporting it through the water. It was odd to say the least. His white eyes drifted to the 'porch' of the house, spotting someone sitting on a plastic beach chair. His breath caught, his tongue flicking out past his lips as he drew in their scent. "Pretty..." He didn't want to eat them...he wanted their body. He wanted to mate. "mine...?" His voice was a deep, throaty rumble.
