Around her are thousands of beautiful, yet terrifying eyes.

Bright, hypnotic, with iridescent circles of pink, purple, yellow, and blue. They appear out of nowhere, slowly opening in the darkness, blinking, staring at her from different distances. Some are very close. Others are far away, like stars in a black sky.

She is still completely herself.

Her mind is intact, hasn't gone mad. But it is locked in a small room inside a huge, uncontrollable organism. She feels every movement of her outer body: how it awkwardly waddles on all fours, how it flows along the ground, how it envelops someone in an "embrace." But it's almost impossible to control—like trying to control a dream in which you are simultaneously a person and an entire swamp. She still loves.

Loves intensely, in the old way. And this love is the only thing that keeps her from completely dissolving into this beautiful, many-eyed darkness.
