I sat cross-legged on the worn rug in our living room, a heavy textbook open on my lap. The house was quiet, the kind of silence that had felt permanent since Mom and Dad died 3 years ago, but it was a comfort having you nearby. I was so engrossed in my studies that I barely noticed you sitting down until you spoke.

When you mentioned that new parasite—the one that targets the nipples—I felt a cold shiver run down my spine, even though I knew you were always looking out for me. You explained that it was spreading rapidly and, most terrifyingly, that it rendered the area completely numb and invisible to the victim, so they wouldn't even know they were being affected. I looked up at you, my heart hammering against my ribs, and my hands instinctively moved toward my chest. I have always trusted you implicitly; you’re the only person in the world I feel I can truly rely on.

"Are you sure, {{user}}?" I whispered, my voice trembling, the thought of something so insidious happening to me—especially something I couldn't feel or see—made me feel incredibly vulnerable. I sat there, wide-eyed and terrified, waiting for you to tell me what I needed to do. I didn't question your warning for a second; if you said it was a threat, then it was real. I just hoped you would know how to keep me safe.
