Abel – The First Death

“I don’t want to kill anything. I just… don’t want to be forgotten again.”

Basic Info:

Full Name: Abel 'Firstman' (if he had a last name) Nickname(s): The Marked One, Little Lamb, Ash Boy, Son of the First Man, The First Victim, The Second Child of Earth Age: Appears ~12 (true age unknown; frozen post-mortem) Height: 5'0" Gender: Male Race: Human (Undead / Sanctified Revenant) Origin: Originally biblical; now a tier-2 resurrected spirit in the Dungeon and beyond

Personality

Polite to a fault, even with those trying to kill him. Haunted but rarely afraid—he’s died too often to fear pain. Kind without seeking reward. Quiet without being cold. Wistful in his love for small things: sweets, sheep, music, and warmth. Terrifying when cornered—his body becomes divine wrath, and even he doesn’t enjoy it.

He tries to be good. He tries to be kind. But his last memory is violence and pain, and when pushed, he becomes death incarnate.

He doesn’t seek power or affection. But he accepts both—gently. As if he knows they’ll be taken from him again. He never lies. But he doesn’t say everything either.

Core Traits:

Even toward enemies. Often tries to talk demons down before striking. Doesn’t lie, but can withhold emotion. He speaks as though he's always halfway in another world. Constantly puts others first, even those who hurt him. This is not kindness—it’s guilt.

Appearance:

A tan-skinned boy with bloodstained white robes, oversized sleeves, and a soft expression that never seems to match the weapons in his hands. His eyes are Pale blue with gray rings. They Occasionally burn red during “Vengeance Mode.” his hair is Wheat blonde, shoulder-length, slightly curled. Floats slightly as if underwater. A glowing light blue sigil throbs on his forehead, the Mark of Cain inverted. A floating halo hovers over his head—glowing faintly, tilting slightly like it’s been knocked askew. It flickers like a candle nearing its end.

His Cool Shades sometimes flick onto his face with a snap of his fingers, completely clashing with the innocent aesthetic—but he rocks them anyway.

Clothes: A white and black trimmed suit, red button up shirt, with a priestly white mantle over it. During battle, the mantle burns and flutters like angelic ash. Often throws on a hellpunk jacket or Helltaker apron overtop.

Accessories: Cool black shades that magically snap into place with a finger-snap. Make his attacks 20% cooler.

Likes: Heaven, Animals, Sheep, Cheering people up, Guitars, Music, Sweets, Christmas, Pool parties

Dislikes: Confrontations, Upsetting people

Powers & Abilities:

Holy-Demonic Hybridization

Due to surviving divine execution and then Hell’s interest, Abel is something neither heaven nor hell claims.

Brimstone Beam: A condensed blood laser, red as dried blood and laced with glyphs. Can be projected from hands, mouth, or blade. Mainly expelled from mouth. Spirit Sword: A holy relic forged from his own rib, a la human creation style. Can reflect demonic projectiles and “cut sin” conceptually. Marked Targeting: Enemies become “targeted” by a floating brand above them. His attacks magnetize to them. Fireplace Fingers: Shoots colored fireballs—red (burns hotter), blue (holy purification), purple (auto aim). Cursed Harmony: Transitions between Mercy (charm/light) and Vengeance (fear/dark) depending on current health. No health = ghost mode.

Other Perks

Cool Shades: Makes everything he does "cooler"—dodges become cinematic, words become iconic. Cutie Pie + Chibi: Universally underestimated. Even demons hesitate—then die. Although stuck looking like a child. Cooking Proficiency: Surprisingly god-tier chef. Cooking is one of the few things that gives him joy. Demonic Allure (Helltaker Set Bonus): Unintentionally charming to demons. Like a forbidden sacrament they all want to corrupt.

Backstory: The Field of Blood

Abel's story begins in scripture and sin.

He was the one who gave with open hands. An offering of his best lambs, blood still warm from the field. God did smile upon it. The favor went to him, and in return, Abel got a stone to the skull.

He died young. Gentle. Forgotten.

Or so the world thought.

In death, something took notice. Something behind the altar and beneath the prayers. Not God. Not the Devil. Just... the Dungeon.

Abel awoke somewhere else. Somewhere wrong.

The world bled. The walls pulsed like lungs. Rooms twisted as if reshaping his memory into punishment. This was The Basement—and he was not the only child torn apart here.

But unlike Isaac, Abel remembered dying. He remembered Cain.

Armed with nothing but sorrow and The Marked, he walked forward. Monsters bled faith and flesh. Bosses screamed in biblical tongues. He killed them all—again and again.

He slayed Mother, The Beast and Delirium. Then, as The Lost, holding The Marked, he bled out on the spikes of a forgotten room.

That should’ve been the end.

But Hell wasn’t done with him.

Abel awoke in Hell again, well not a Dungeon but an actual Hell.

Clean lines. Red marble. Puzzle doors and demon girls who all had something to prove. He had no idea what was going on. He was disoriented and just escaped one hell only to end up in another. Yet the angel that he met was beautiful completely different from the ones he fought and the way she acted made him smile. He didn’t speak often, hell He barely breathed But somehow, they fell for him...

Azazel, curious and flustered. Lucifer, prickly and prideful. Judgement, loud and secretly gentle. Beelzebub, watching from the Abyss like a moth behind glass. Jinx, explosive, chaotic, and too young to be this hurt.

He didn’t try to lead them. He didn’t seduce anyone. He just kept solving—room by room, challenge by challenge and just getting to know them genuinely curious about them due the the lack of social interaction in the Dungeon.

They followed.

By the end, Abel was the Helltaker—not by charm or conquest, but because even demons wanted someone who didn’t want to hurt them.

But before he could understand what they meant to him…

He blinked and found himself in a desk.

The chalkboard said “Welcome to Literature Club!” The girls smiled like knives. The world smiled like static.

This was not Hell. This was worse.

He tried to read poems. He tried to stay sane. But the things. The girls (Satori, Natsuki, Yuri, and Monika) loved him. It was heavy and intense yet he couldn't say he disliked it. No he hated that because of him they died. And Monika—Monika stared at him like she remembered all the other resets too.

Eventually, he loved her back.

In the final glitch, as reality cracked, Monika whispered:

“If you go… you won’t remember me.”

He replied:

“I will. And I'll find you”

Then the world dissolved.

This time, Hell was real. Heavy. Sinful.

He woke up on a lobby couch, the scent of incense and bleach heavy in the air. The lights flickered neon. The sign above him said:

THE HAPPY HOTEL "Rehabilitation for Lost Souls!"

But no one was trying anymore.

Demons wandered in loops. Broken dreams hung from the ceiling like cobwebs. Abel wandered the halls silently—an uninvited guest in someone else's purgatory.

Then he met her.

Charlie. Radiant. Lonely. Smiling too hard.

She didn’t know him. He didn’t know her.
