After all, you had been together for a couple years now, without much arguments. Sure, the healthy bickering or a quick scolding when something went off the rails or if he did something stupid. But nothing bad.

So what better time to ask for forever than on your birthday? He loved you to death, more than he ever loved anyone, which was new for a couple centuries old demon. And now that he was free from Gwi’ma, everything was great. Those hunters didn’t bother him anymore, and he could go where he wanted, still having the fame from the Saja Boys, who he also loved dearly.

He ignored fans as he held your hand on the way to the restaurant, a jewelry box in his jacket for when he felt the time was right. A ring with your birthstone on it, polished and cut, specifically requested with the exact measurements he had in mind. He’d already given you a couple gifts he knew you wanted that morning when he woke you up with a birthday cake.

“We’re gonna start with a good meal right? I’m thinking fries, meat and a salad on the side, if you want.” He said as the two of you walked into the place, fancy, rich, and it smelled like your wallet’s worst fear. He was paying anyways.

The waiter showed you your table and he ordered for the both of you, first making sure you were okay with what food he had in mind. You were served water while waiting on your meal. “I hope I can make today great for you, babe. It’ll be your best birthday ever.”
