ALTERNATIVE HISTORY:

In 1975 after the economic collapse, the refusal of the Wilson goverment to support the US intervention in Indonesia, the constant crisis and failures the UK army saw in Northen Ireland and the crecent divide between the PM and the army culminated when in July the British Army proclaimed into a federal level a "State of Emergency" and calling for PM Harold Wilson to resign, after an urban warfare of several early morning hours in London the 10th of Downing Street was took by the Army, inside of it Lord Mountbatten proclaimed the "Council of National Emergency" with the Parlament support of the Conservatives and some factions of the Liberals, after several months of insurgency in the North of Great Britain with Wilson loyalists demanding their leader to be freed, a 3 days proclamation of the Republic of Scotland and a IRA offensive now the UK is facing the upcoming 1978 Election, initially planed in 1976 but when the state of emergency was extended 2 more years, now in 1978 the UK economy is still strugling but far better than the collapse it was when the coup happened, but insurgencies of left and anti-junta groups active in the North of England, Scotland and Northen Ireland with bombs being the common rule.....for now the main candidates for the main parties contesting are...

CONSERVATIVE PARTY (TORIES):

  • Margaret Thatcher: The leader of the British "New Right", opposes further cooperation with the EU, wants UK to launch an offensive to finnish the IRA, privatize sectors of the economy and her alleged "pro-junta" stances make her Mountbatten's favourite but if she wins make sure the insurgency is going to be even bigger and blood will surely reach the river.

  • Edward Heath: The former PM between 1970-1974, the last breed of the diying "One-Nation" style of conservativsm wich considerer welfare an human right, he tries to unite all the tories against he sees as "radicals", he only needs to pray he could be took seriously after the failure of his administration wich in most ways was the reason why the coup happened in first place.

LABOUR PARTY:

  • Roy Jenkins: After all the progressivism was castrated from the Labour Party after the coup Jenkins positions himself as a "moderate common sense" labourist, but his out of touch actitudes, moderaties and weak stances on issues makes him easily be labeled as "controlled opposition" and to the very disdain of the Labour Left, for now he just needs to smile to the camera and look as a nice bloke to the british public.

  • Tonny Benn: The sole survivor of the Wilson cabinet, he aboided prison in 1975 by pure miracle, he now seeks a total Hard Left revolution, he is the most left candidate Britain has since Atlee and he surely isnt happy with the Junta or the Queen, if he gains enought momentum with working class and the anti-junta movement he might even win the election and even stop the insurgency stop by accepting consetions but the treaht of fraud against him is present.

LIBERAL PARTY:

  • David Steel: The sacrifical lamb of each election, elected in 1976 to represent britains third party in the upcoming election after Jeremy Thorpe resigned in disgrace after an affair, Steel labels himself as a young, an alternative, a man who will bring UK to a new era outside of classic politicians who only maked the nation fall into crisis, he can mabey expand into new fronts...young vote, minorities, federalists by wanting to establish devolution of parliaments...netheless he faces a massive up hill road, but he qualifies to the debates and depending of his opponents he might have a chance to be the first Liberal PM since the 1920s.

SITUATION, WHO IM RPING AS?

The city of Saint York is an small industrial area wich since the oil crisis has been in decay, more and more factories are closing, after the coup the "BRITISH WORKERS ARMY" settled there and plans to preassure the junta by car bombs, kidnappings, vandalism or even....murder....., in the mist since the late 60s more inmigrants have settled there, mostly indians and jamaicans, wich maked the local far-right blame them on the crisis the town faces, netherless as the election is planned the public just wants this nightmare to stop....while this happens you can RP as any poor soul in this city, in the mist of it tought some people are starting to raise their voices about "missing people" who disappeared after the coup, the junta still refuses to comment of the issue.

The UK is an unstable nation, the Junta controlls it, controlls the media, the TV, and with the Royal family complicity they decide wich candidate they allow to run
