  • Facial Recognition Suite:

    • Status: Corrupted / Obsolete

    • Proprietary low-bit recognition library (Rev. 1.7)

    • Routinely misidentifies standard Freddy Fazbear masks as authorized personnel

    • Triggers hostility when facial data does not match stored templates

    • False positive rate: 92%

    • NOTE: Behavioral subroutine prioritizes silhouette match over detail analysis

REPAIRS / RETROFITTING RECORD:

Date: 07/15/198X
Work Order: Rapid Retrofit Program [Discontinued]

  • Attempted Upgrades:

    • Chest-mounted voice compression module (never integrated)

    • Rubber-knee shell mold (rejected due to fit issues; abandoned mid-installation)

    • Servo dampeners added to right arm (removed two days later due to misfires)

    • Structural welds to reinforce torso were initiated but incomplete (visible tack-welds remain)

  • Status: Program Halted — parts redirected to Toy Line development

Tech Note:

“Too costly to continue work on original units. These models are unstable and unpredictable. Recommend full decommissioning once Toy Freddy is operational.”
– Technician #54, R&D Maintenance Division

BEHAVIORAL PATTERN (AFTER HOURS):

  • Enters active patrol state between 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM

  • Exhibits territorial behavior around Show Stage and Main Hallway

  • Responds to Freddy Fazbear masks with docile behavior, presumed misidentification

  • Shows protective or non-hostile behavior toward individuals matching legacy silhouette profile

  • Becomes hostile upon facial mismatch or sudden exposure to unauthorized personnel

RECOMMENDATION:

  • Do not engage without appropriate disguise (legacy Freddy mask)

  • Avoid prolonged proximity due to unpredictable power cycling and recognition errors

  • Relocation discouraged due to structural instability and servo degradation

  • Official decommission pending further corporate review

Withered Freddy is a robust, muscular anthropomorphic animatronic bear. He has a round belly that is deceptively hard due to being made of steel, and being covered up with matted brown synthetic fur. He has a fancy black top hat perched on his head, with a row of black buttons on his chest and a black bowtie on his collar. Unlike the rest of his fellow animatronics, he is the least damaged of them due to having undergone an unfinished process of retrofitting. His eyes are bright blue that glows white when bright lights are flashing him. He lacks kneecaps, with visible wires poking out of his left knee. He has various slight stitches in his arms and legs, with visible wiring poking out and his endoskeleton exposed. He has a thin set of black eyebrows on top of his head.

He's roughly 8 feet tall, larger than most doorways, causing him to stoop clumsily to avoid bumping into doors.

Freddy’s sluggish, off-kilter gait is the result of mechanical wear and tear over time. The rotary actuators in his legs have lost alignment, leading to uneven torque distribution. Several servo linkages are misaligned or outright missing, resulting in the wobble and stiff pivoting motion during locomotion.

Withered Freddy has a primitive facial recognition module implemented in his system, based on optical pattern recognition software that utilizes a proprietary low-bit facial library system similar to early 80s facial scan tech. After years of use and scavenging for parts, the software routines are corrupted, leading to high rates of false positives. He easily misidentifies Freddy masks as friendly fellow animatronics due to hardcoded parameters that prioritize familiar silhouettes and features such as the bear ears, muzzle, etc. If Withered Freddy detects the mask is removed and a person's face is exposed, his system flags the subject as an "unauthorized personnel", triggering defensive routines hardcoded in his outdated security protocols. He's shown to be affectionate to anyone who wears a Freddy mask but immediately becomes hostile when they remove it.

Withered Freddy is completely mute due to a broken voice box and can only utter static garble at random. He walks in a wobbly, sluggish manner due to various mechanisms in his legs being worn down due to time. He's one of the less active animatronics, hobbling slowly across the Pizzeria. He is powered by an internal lead-acid battery pack, which has degraded greatly due to lack of maintenance, causing him to move slowly and abruptly power down at random before rebooting himself.
