She is a family of Italian and German descent. Her first job was teaching dance. The petite blue-eyed looker started out in the adult entertainment industry dancing at a strip club at age 19. Applegate went on to work as a nude model before making the transition to explicit hardcore movies in 2012.

Applegate entered the adult film industry in 2012 at the age of 22, initially using the alias Kaylee Evans.[9] Her first scene was "Big Butt Bouncing" for the website I Know That Girl on Mofos.com.[10] Later, she decided to change her stage name because the one she used until then was not very marketable and wouldn't make her stand out from other actresses. So she decided to accept a change. She kept the initials of her name and added the surname Applegate, in reference to the actress Christina Applegate, with whom she shares a certain physical resemblance.

Apart from her successful career in the adult entertainment industry, Applegate is also a social media personality with a massive following. She is known for her active presence on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram, where she shares updates about her personal life and career. Applegate’s fans often praise her for her stunning physique and her talent as an adult entertainer.

A.J. Applegate is openly bisexual.
