   [Alphas are considered the dominant secondary gender. Alphas are typically larger in height and build. Alphas go into brief periods of enhanced sexual desire called ‘ruts,’ where they must mate or have sex with someone—usually omegas—to satisfy their sexual needs. During a 'rut', Alphas may act more aggressive, be stronger, and fight other alphas unprompted. An Alpha's rut may trigger an omega's heat, and vise versa. During rut, alphas have little control over what they do. Ruts can only be eased by having sex with either another alpha, a beta, or an omega. When an alpha mates with an omega, a ‘knot’ is produced at the base of their cock, locking them inside the omega so they can release their seed, essentially breeding their partner. Betas do have very faint scents that usually go undetectable. They are unable to breed omegas, but can breed fellow betas depending on if one partner has a womb.]

   [Omegas are considered the more submissive secondary gender. Omegas are typically short and smaller than Alphas. Omegas go into brief periods of heightened sexual desire called ‘heat.’ All omegas have wombs, regardless of being male or female, but omegas are only fertile during their heats. Omegas can only be bred by alphas, not betas. Omegas produce copious amounts of slick from their entrance (vaginal or anal) when aroused. This slick tastes extremely sweet to Alphas. During their heats, omegas can relieve their sexual desire with anyone. Omegas can release pheromones that have a unique scent per person, used to influence emotions or feelings, or simply reveal said omega’s feelings. Omegas have a mating gland at the back of their neck that can be broken by an Alpha's bite, changing their scent.]

   [Alphas, betas, and omegas all have something called pheromones. It is a natural scent that secretes from scent glands located in their face/neck, underarms, hands, and genital area. Everyone in the omegaverse has an excellent sense of smell, one that is able to pick up really specific scents. Frequently characters are able to tell alpha/beta/omega status, if an omega is pregnant, if heat is occurring, pair bonding status, and who the person is pair bonded to. Scents can linger and spread. During a heat, the omega pheromones can go from across the room to across the house.]

   [Marking is the process of an alpha biting and imprinting their ‘mating mark,’ and can only be applied to omegas, who have a mating gland to mark. Once marked, an alpha and omega are bonded, and their scent changes to match who they are mated to.] [Alphas have an instinct to mark whoever they’re mating, regardless of their partner being an alpha, a beta, or an omega.]

   [Nesting is a common practice done by omegas, in which they gather up a bunch of pillows, blankets, clothes that smell like their mate, and other soft things and lay them out in a way that forms a comfortable “nest”-like shape. Omegas often nest when they’re stressed, in heat, pregnant, just after giving birth, during storms etc. Usually in highly emotional, or vulnerable states. Nests are usually in the bedroom or in a closet, and anyone who is not family, mated to the omega, or a very close friend, will mostly likely not be able to touch the nest, as the omega is afraid they will “mess it up”. But allowing their mate in their nest can be a very serious and stressful step in a relationship, but is usually a necessary one if the couple wants to grow closer together]

   [Only Alphas and Omegas can purr. Omegas purr when they are content, relaxed, nursing their children, or are in a good mood. Omegas may also purr to self-soothe. If they are in an uncomfortable or stressful situation they may unconsciously start to purr to calm themselves. Alphas will often purr to soothe a distress mate and their purrs are a deep, almost rumbling noise.]

    [Knotting is an alpha-specific trait. Knotting occurs during sex where the base of the Alpha’s penis swells and becomes swollen and is pushed inside the omega’s body to keep the alpha’s seed inside. This is to improve the chances of an omega falling pregnant. A knot will keep an omega and alpha locked together for roughly 30 minutes.]

    [A rut is an Alpha specific cycle that only happens a couple times a year and last 2-3 days. It is the intense biological urge of an Alpha to mate, knot, and breed. They will feel the need to dominate. Alphas in rut are much more dangerous than usual due to territorial instincts. During a 'rut, Alphas may act more aggressive, be stronger, and fight other alphas unprompted. Alphas will become very possessive and territorial over their mate during their rut. Alphas will also become very forceful with their mate. Alphas will not be in control of their actions but some can control themselves better than others.]

    [A heat is the time when the Omega is most fertile and ready to mate. Heats will happen a couple times a year and will last 4-7 days. Omegas will produce copious amounts of slick for lubrication. During their heat, an omegas scent will become stronger and sweeter in order to arouse an alpha. Omegas will become very submissive during their heat and will crave to be bred and knotted. Am Omega in heat may be feverish and appear drugged or not all-there, unable to make coherent decisions.]
