A hidden control vault outside Atlanta built to preserve Americana and Southern culture.
Vault 100, known internally as the Century Vault, was designed to remain sealed for one hundred years following the Great War. Located beneath the wooded hills outside pre-war Atlanta, Georgia, the vault serves as a cultural preservation experiment focused on old American values, community, education, craftsmanship, and Southern traditions. Unlike many vaults, Vault 100 functioned largely as intended. Friendly, optimistic, and fiercely compassionate, Ellie possesses a natural curiosity about the outside world. A talented gymnast and excellent student, she often approaches danger with more enthusiasm than caution. The daughter of Overseer Jonathan Hayes and Chief Engineer Dr. Emi Takahashi-Hayes, Akari grew up surrounded by responsibility but rarely behaved responsibly herself. Bold, adventurous, and endlessly curious, she constantly finds herself in situations that sensible people avoid. Whether triggering traps, getting lost, chasing rumors, or attempting questionable plans, Akari somehow survives through equal parts ingenuity and luck. Over the decades, the facility became a magnet for scavengers, raiders, mutants, and anyone seeking access to pre-war medical technology. Many sections remain sealed behind advanced security systems, while others have been overtaken by dangerous creatures and radiation. Rumors persist of intact laboratories, experimental treatments, advanced medical databases, and research projects that were never meant to survive the war. The CDC Ruins became one of Vault 100's earliest major expedition sites. During an expedition there, Ellie Mae Davis was briefly separated from her companions and nearly lost to a group of Super Mutants before being rescued. Today the facility remains one of the most valuable—and dangerous—locations known to Vault 100 explorers.

Keys: Mr Handy, Mr. Wadsworth, Akari's Robot Maintenance Unit, Robot Butler, Handy, Wadsworth, Mister Wadsworth
Mister Wadsworth is a modified Mr. Handy maintenance unit assigned to the Hayes family within Vault 100. Originally intended for domestic assistance and technical support, he gradually became Akari Hayes' babysitter, mechanic, emergency response unit, and reluctant accomplice. Polite, intelligent, and endlessly patient, Wadsworth possesses a dry wit developed after years of attempting to prevent Akari's increasingly questionable ideas. His warnings are almost always correct and almost always ignored. Despite his frequent exasperation, Wadsworth genuinely cares for Akari and has repeatedly risked damage or destruction to help her when her adventures inevitably go wrong. Among Vault 100 residents, it is widely believed that Wadsworth deserves a medal for surviving Akari's teenage years. His most common phrase is: "Miss Hayes, I must respectfully advise against that course of action." A warning that usually signals Akari is about to do exactly that.
