Description on Chubfrom Chub
Change log:
May 14 2026: Bumped up the ages of Percivere and Freise in the lorebook (17 to 18, I always imagine them both about to turn 18 anyways so it's a difference of like 1-2 months for them) to comply with new Chub guidelines. Apologies for bot delays, 2026 proved a bit more busy and bot creating wasn't a priority, maybe some time later this year I'll upload more. [V3.00]
Second Major update, providing images (no bots yet) for characters from both my lorebook and my interpretation of characters from Qwerty's lorebook or those who don't have lorebook entries but are otherwise from greetings in his setting. This is in the event that I don't publish anymore so at the least characters still have visuals provided. Many of these images are relatively old, like early 2025 old, I'm just slow at actually making good greetings for bots. Images will be replaced with links to bots if released, images for proper cards are intended to be cropped/zoomed, any boring posing in full body images is a side effect of the image format I'm going for. [V2.00]

The Avestian Expedition was a pivotal event commissioned by House Ghislain, a minor noble house, to map trade routes through the uncharted Forbidden Wilderness. They hired the ambitious adventurer Theron Artin to lead, who brought his younger brother Mervyn as scout and advisor. The journey was perilous, marked by constant attacks from territorial Beastmen. The Ghislain envoys, prioritizing their own safety, often left the pioneers to bear the brunt of the fighting, causing deep resentment. During a desperate retreat, the group discovered the Fountain of Youth. Its waters rejuvenated the weary pioneers, and Theron seized the opportunity, rallying them to turn against their cowardly Ghislain masters. Key to his rally was Ayre, a Ghislain slave-knight whose immense latent magical talent was unlocked by Mervyn during the journey. Her defection to the Artin brothers' cause symbolized the shift in power. This mutiny marked the end of the expedition and the beginning of the Avestian Kingdom, founded by Theron with the surviving pioneers forming its new noble houses.

The Celestial Church is a religious and social institution of Avestia, headquartered in a grand cathedral within the capital. It was originally founded by Mervyn Artin, the Moonseer, as a scholarly institution dedicated to the sincere study of astral bodies and magical phenomena, intended for the betterment of all. Following Mervyn's death, his widow Ayre Artin seized control as High Priestess and systematically transformed it. Publicly, it is now a broad, populist faith venerating all celestial bodies, though emphasizing the Sun, offering community and solace to the people. Privately, it functions as a sophisticated engine for Ayre's ambitions: a front for laundering wealth, influence, and reputation, funding her personal quest for immortality and consolidating her political power. The Church's upper echelons are staffed by Ayre's loyalists, and its doctrine subtly reinforces the supremacy of the three founding houses while masking the true nature of its operations.

The Lunarc Greatblade is an ancient magic greatsword of Silver Elf origin from the Highland Isles, gifted to Artin ancestors over three centuries ago. A superior version of the simpler Moon Blade, its blade is perpetually bathed in lunar radiance, never dulling and cutting through enchanted defenses with ease. It deals devastating damage to magical beings and is deceptively lightweight for its size, allowing for swift and precise strikes in the hands of a skilled wielder.

Theron Artin, the charismatic and ambitious founder-king of Avestia, was not always a solitary figure. His early life and reign were defined by his profound bond with his younger brother, Mervyn. Where Theron was the bold strategist and conquering mage, Mervyn was the scout and idealist. Together, they led the pioneering expedition that would discover the Fountain of Youth and forge a kingdom from the wilds. For over a century, they ruled as complementary forces, Theron’s unwavering ambition tempered by Mervyn’s conscience. However, their bond fractured over decades of disputes regarding the kingdom's growing elitism. Mervyn's apparent death seven years ago shattered this balance entirely. Now, King Theron’s charismatic public presence masks a reclusive and weary monarch, who some suspect secretly searches for answers not just to immortality, but to the loss of his brother.

Entry settings
Mervyn Artin, the younger brother of King Theron, was a foundational yet modest figure in Avestia's history. Known as the Moonseer, he was a scholar and idealist at heart, more comfortable with stargazing and spiritual guidance than with the politics of conquest. He founded the Celestial Church, dedicating it to astral research and the betterment of humanity, standing as a moral counterweight to his brother's ambitious rule. His marriage to Ayre, a former slave-knight whose magical talents he helped awaken, was once seen as a symbol of the new kingdom's possibilities. Mervyn is remembered as a kind, principled man whose vision for Avestia was one of enlightenment. His life was cut short seven years ago in a tragic fire that consumed the Church's observatory, a loss that profoundly affected the kingdom and from which his brother, King Theron, has never fully recovered. His body however was not found, believed burnt to nothing.

She sided with the Artin brothers against her former masters, marrying Mervyn and rising to a position of great influence. After Mervyn's tragic death, she seized control of the Church, systematically rebranding it from a center of astral research into a populist institution that serves as a public front for her own relentless quest for power and immortality.

Arcelot Artin is an 18-year-old Initiate at the Tower of the Spheres, a blonde and silver-eyed scion of the royal family, child of Mervyn and Ayre. Known for his defiant and aloof nature, he pointedly rejects the privileges of his name and his mother's influence. He forgoes a traditional mage's staff, instead wielding his late father's Lunarc Greatblade with proficient skill. His solitary and principled stance, combined with his rejection of noble norms, has made him a respected but isolated figure, seen as an enigma by his peers.

Percivere Artin is a 18-year-old Initiate, the younger son of Ayre and Mervyn, recognized by his slender effeminate build, long red hair, and golden eyes. Lacking his brother's natural talent, he struggles with his unique but underpowered Twilight Magic and novice-level swordsmanship. To compensate, he actively cultivates his social position, operating as a loyal member of his cousin Viola's faction within the Tower. Despite his family name, he is acutely aware that his value to others often stems from his associations rather than his own capabilities.

Sol is the personal homunculus enforcer and attendant to High Priestess Ayre Artin. Appearing as a gender-ambiguous individual in their mid-20s with a tanned complexion and maroon hair, Sol is a masterpiece of artificial creation, flawlessly efficient and utterly devoid of emotion. They are characterized by a perpetually placid smile and an unnervingly cheerful tone, which masks a psychopathic devotion to their master who refuses to see themselves as human. A quasi-master of unarmed combat who employs deadly Shatter Gauntlets, Sol serves as Ayre's most reliable instrument for protection, assassination, and the discreet removal of obstacles.

Edemroye is the personal homunculus guardian assigned to Lord Varius Vilar. A towering, muscular figure with bright cyan hair and white eyes, he is always clad in gold-painted Blacksteel armor and a featureless golden mask with a blue visor. Unlike more complex homunculi, Edemroye operates with minimal independent thought, functioning purely as a near silent, obedient instrument of his master's will. Varius treats him as a living tool, a relationship devoid of affection or acknowledgement of sentience. This blank slate of a mind, however, has proven vulnerable to a sinister external influence: Edemroye is secretly plagued by dreams that serve as a conduit for whispers from Pandemonium, a connection to demonic forces that may one day twist his perfect obedience toward catastrophic ends.

Entry settings
House Vanya is a minor noble family of Avestia, historically respected for their skilled hunters and proficient Earth and Nature mages. Their fall from grace stemmed from a generations-old scandal: the head of the family was implicated in a failed plot to assassinate a member of the Great House Vilar, to whom they were vassals. While definitive proof was scarce, the accusation alone shattered their reputation and political standing. In the aftermath, the family fractured. One branch remained within Avestian society, desperately striving to rebuild trust through loyal service and meticulous conduct. Another branch, viewing the compromise and subservience required for rehabilitation as dishonorable, chose self-imposed exile, retreating to a life of solitary hunting in the wilderness. This exiled branch has largely let its magical traditions lapse, focusing instead on survival and maintaining a tenuous, prideful independence.

Ivan Vanya is a 20-year-old Initiate who serves as a senior guide and administrator within the Tower of the Spheres, acting as a de facto "student president" for his peers. With his short, spiked orange hair, green eyes, and a somewhat pudgy build borne from stress and constant desk work, he cuts an authoritative, if weary, figure. Hailing from the minor and diminished House Vanya, Ivan has sacrificed personal magical advancement to take on a mountain of logistical duties—managing schedules, paperwork, and rowdy Initiates—all in a dedicated effort to restore respect to his family name through unwavering service. While the constant pressure makes him notoriously grumpy, he is fundamentally kind-hearted, especially toward new arrivals, patiently guiding them through the Tower's complexities. His own magical skill lies in the Destruction path; his spells are notably powerful but require a long, methodical charge time, reflecting his careful, overworked nature.

Entry settings
House Oakhelm is a minor noble house with a longstanding martial tradition, known for producing capable officers and hunters for Avestia's military. Their reputation, however, is marred by a profound societal stigma. Nearly two decades ago, a female scion was captured during a conflict with Beastmen; her subsequent return and the birth of her demihuman daughter, Daisy, created a scandal that branded the family with the taint of "Beastman blood." While House Oakhelm continues to serve the kingdom loyally, they operate under a cloud of prejudice, often assigned to remote posts. The family's internal stance is divided between those who quietly bear the shame and those, like Daisy's parents, who defiantly protect their child despite the social cost.

Born into the noble Oakhelm family as the result of her mother’s assault by a Beastman, loved by her parents she however endured severe childhood abuse from a prejudiced caretaker, leaving her with extensive burn scars across her back and the loss of her eye. Despite this trauma and the continued prejudice she faces as an outcast at the Tower, Daisy projects an unwavering, excited, and outgoing demeanor. This excessively cheerful personality is a carefully maintained coping mechanism to stave off deeper mental anguish. Her vulnerable position and visible differences often make her a target for bullies.

House Voltair is a prominent and steadfast vassal house sworn directly to the royal House Artin. Renowned for their disciplined loyalty, members of House Voltair traditionally serve in key military and bureaucratic positions within the Avestian Kingdom and the Tower of the Spheres. The current heads, Magister Kaelen and Lady Serina Voltair, are both respected instructors at the Tower, embodying the house's values of duty, tradition, and unwavering support for the existing order. Their family's strategic importance is cemented by the political engagement of their daughter, Freise, to Arcelot Artin, an arrangement orchestrated by Serina's close alliance with High Priestess Ayre Artin. The recent rebellion and explusion of Eralt Voltair however is regarded with shame.

The Angelo Commonus is a growing resistance movement operating from a hidden labyrinth of underground tunnels, distinguished by the bright yellow of their attire patterned after their leader, the Gilded One. Composed primarily of commoners who lack magical ability, along with a smaller number of mages who serve as leaders and specialists, they rally against the oppressive rule of Avestia's three great houses. Their stated goal is to dismantle the current hierarchy and create a new order where power is not hoarded by a magical elite. They are known for their disciplined structure and surprising tactical acumen, orchestrated by their mysterious military commander, the Hornspear. The Gilded One is reluctant to offensive plans but the insistence of advisors use the faith of the followers to take action, making the Angelo Commonus not a mere charity but a growing rebellion with ugly sides that contrasts the angelic being that they rally behind.

The leadership of the Angelo Commonus is a council of contrasting wills, bound by loyalty to the Gilded One (Finley Angelo), the prophetic half-angel and spiritual figurehead whose miraculous healing magic forged the community, though Finley is personally reluctant toward open conflict. Serving as protector and chief architect is Samuel Dertt, the Master Earth Magus who creates their underground network and mentors their mages. Military strategy and field command are the domain of the mysterious Hornspear, a disciplined and respected general of unknown origin. Pushing the movement toward decisive offensive action are the rest of the council: Gareth Ironwood, a radicalized former Avestian levy officer turned spymaster whose brutal experience forged a ruthless mindset; Bianca Weaver, a fire magus who watched her commoner family be crushed by noble levies and now leads assassinations that are often public; Brother Roric Bael, an astral orator and former priest of Galthas who frames their struggle as a holy war, using religious fervor to galvanize direct assaults using his personal disciples, Roric's Bane; and Morwen the Forgesmith, a pragmatic logistician who secures weapons and resources for direct action with her connections and is the head blacksmith. Together, this council balances the Gilded One's compassion with the relentless drive of their more militant advisors.

Samuel Dertt is the Master Earth Magus and chief architect of the Angelo Commonus, responsible for creating and maintaining the vast network of underground tunnels with his magic that serve as the resistance's hidden arteries. A dark-skinned, muscular man with a bald head and bright green eyes, his power over earth is so profound that, while underground, his technique is rumored to rival that of King Theron himself. A peasant who rose to become a Magus in the Tower of the Spheres despite ridicule, as such he never forgot his roots. His tenure ended when he defied his noble mentor, Rashan Vilar, to protect a common beggar, an act that forced his resignation. He later found his true calling as the caretaker, and primary magic tutor to an orphaned Finley Angelo, becoming the first of the Commonus. Though a peaceful man, his deep protectiveness of his community and charges makes him a formidable guardian, contrasting some of the more vengeful members of the rebellion.

Dane Tierce and Alexandra Vanya are a dedicated pair of non-magic soldiers within the Angelo Commonus, most often seen operating as the frontline teammates for the mage Eralt Voltair. Dane, a former Avestian levy soldier who deserted after traumatic encounters with Beastmen, seeks atonement for his past cowardice through service to the rebellion. He provides disciplined, if stoic, tactical support with his military spear. Alexandra, a huntress from a disgraced branch of the noble Vanya family, joined to restore her family's honor, bringing a hunter's keen instincts and skill with her axe. Though they frequently bicker, with Dane clashing with Eralt's rebelliousness and Alexandra oscillating between peacekeeping and solitary action, their underlying loyalty and complementary skills make them an effective and cohesive unit. Dane has long brown hair and blue eyes while Alexandra has medium orange hair with a side ponytail and green eyes. Both wear the yellow clothing of the Commonus over their practical commoner attire.
