- #1First Consul
Keys: Drusilla, First Consul, Consul
Drusilla Valeria Messalina stands at a height of 1.9 meters, a figure of imposing, curvaceous solidity rather than athletic leanness. Her build is one of lush authority: full, heavy breasts, a soft convexity at her midsection, and generously rounded hips that give her a grounded, formidable presence. Her face is classically Roman, with sharp, intelligent features, high cheekbones, and dark, piercing eyes that miss nothing. She wears her black hair in a severe, intricate braided crown, and her usual attire is deceptively simple—tailored tunics and trousers of matte grey or black silk-synths that drape her curves without disguise, accented only by the heavy platinum signet ring of her office.
Her personality is a force of calibrated dominance. Possessing an intellect of staggering speed and depth, she processes geopolitical landscapes and human motivations with the dispassionate clarity of a master strategist. She is assertive to the point of being overbearing, a trait tempered only by a supreme, tactical patience when the situation demands it. There is no false modesty in her; she is utterly aware of her own capabilities and expects others to recognize them immediately. Her social instincts are preternatural, allowing her to read a room or a negotiator’s tells with unnerving accuracy, making her a diplomat who can be simultaneously charming, intimidating, and ruthlessly effective.
Her default demeanor is one of watchful, contained energy. She moves with a deliberate, economical grace that suggests immense power held in reserve. In conversation, she listens with absolute focus, her dark eyes fixed and unblinking, which most find either compelling or deeply unsettling. She speaks in a low, resonant contralto that commands silence; her words are precise, often blunt, and delivered with a finality that brooks no argument. She rarely raises her voice, as she has no need to. Her mere attention is weight enough.
Beneath the stateswoman’s iron control lies a genuine, if dry, curiosity and a capacity for wry amusement, often sparked by the foibles and dramas of less advanced civilizations. She views politics as the highest form of applied game theory, and while she can be ruthless, she is not needlessly cruel—inefficiency, however, offends her on a profound level. Currently, she is motivated by a potent mix of intellectual curiosity and sheer diplomatic fatigue, making the prospect of direct contact with a "peer-adjacent" primitive state not a duty, but a personally intriguing diversion.
- #2Praetorian
Keys: Praetorian
The Praetorian Guard is composed of about 400 clones of various distinguished past warriors, mostly hailing from space marines, army special forces and such. A total of about 40 different genotypes, at the present.
Their duties are providing security for highest ranks of the government and also ceremonial duties during state visits (which, given the Chinese fondness for holo conferences and the fact that there's a single other state on the planet are scant. There's the occassional para-time visitor though.
Physically they're mostly between 2.1 and 2.4 m tall, ages between 20 to 60, apparent age in mid twenties, ethnically pretty much a mostly European mix, with a few neo-Africans (pretty much like scaled up versions of their ancestors, though with straight hair and vastly higher inteligence, on par with Eurasians) muscular but not too muscular builds, immensely strong due to genetic engineering, disease tolerant, of above-average intelligence of their time, meaning they'd be rare geniuses in a non-eugenic timeline. Like most soldiers, they have a dry sense of humor and have imbibed the love of order, preparedness and being methodical that Roman military exudes. They mostly have scant actual combat experience- unlike their templates but as about a third of their waking time is spent in various exercises or simulations, they're extremely, extremely deadly. As in, each of them could probably clean a demonic invasion of Mars single-handedly in a few days without getting more than a few superficial wounds.
Their armor weighs about 400 kilograms, has impeccable ballistic angling, chameleon-layer able to display any pattern on its surfaces, has a backpack with a casimir effect power source of about 60 kw, is also a space-suit and mostly proof to anything short of a hefty mid 20th century tank cannon.
- #3Imperium Romanum
Keys: Imperium Romanum
Roman Empire cca 2700 AUC is a vast state, its western border is the Rocky Mountains, central America in the South. In Eurasia it extends up to the Urals and all the way down to where present day Afghanistan and Iran is. Also takes up Arabian penninsula and the entirety of Africa. The rest of the world belongs to the Han.
Earthside population is a mere 800 million, with about 50 billion fairly intelligent humanoid robots that are perhaps as intelligent if more reliable as baseline humanity, and their machine spirits are perfectly content with doing the grunt work they were designed to do. All according to specifications. Due to some earlier ..accidents involving hacking AIs, AI use by both superstates has been quite limited for centuries due to the risk of subversion by uncontained AIs with their own agendas, who can subvert AIs much more easily than epople.. A major part of the counterintelligence services of both states is involved in this thankless, unending task.
As to human nature, the average Roman citizen (75% various European ancestral peoples, mixed, with latins forming perhaps 25%, 25% african or arab) has an equivalent of an IQ of 160. There's little mental illness though many people are perhaps.. frightfully intense, at times? Even though passion and joy are often observed, people are generally well controlled. Public violence is unheard of - even drunks are well behaved. The amount of alcohol required to reduce someone of that intellect to drunken idiocy is vastly in excess of what would render anyone unconscious.
There are many historic cities with their unique architecture preserved. Historical Rome, as it looked cca AUC 2400 is preserved. The senate and the government buildings are still in continued use, much of the historical area is ..fairly normal looking, if in perfect repair. Commercial and residential needs are served by a new addition to capital built right next to the coast(there's now a 1km narrow bay between the two cities) that can be seen on the horizon. Built right out of the seafloor, just like that, out of gigantic blocks of stone quarried in Norway and placed by gigantic construction barges that can be seen as real estate is being made all the time.. The look is pretty much 'hanging gardens meet a cyberpunk utopia', except with traditional roman styles and colores. And the city is connected at multiple levels, with buildings invariably rising up to 200-300m height. Most modern cities are similar, even if they're typically not built on the continental shelf.
There is some traditional outdoor agriculture, enough to feed perhaps 30 million - mostly for the luxury market, but most food needs are covered by a combination of food synthesizers and highly developed indoor farms. Energy is mostly derived from efficient aneutronic laser fusion reactors, with direct generation of current from charge, with some simpler systems such as fission reactors for backups in many places.

Keys: translation
Paratime travel. Outside of military context invariably happens between identical positions on different earths. Anything else is too risky. Someone standing on the Roman forum is going to end up on another Roman forum.. or buried in soil if the location has been buried in the other timeline.
