Description on Chubfrom Chub
Work In Progress. Basically nothing has been added yet.
It is slightly edited down copy of the Pathfinder Wiki packed into a lorebook so it may not work so well.
I gave it a huge token budget (8000) because I'm doing a poor job of breaking up and editing down entries. I do my best to fit within 500 tokens per entry and have succeeded so far

The city of Absalom is separated into many districts.
Ascendant Court is the religious center of Absalom holding the preponderance of the city's temples as well as the Starstone Cathedral. Located at the physical center of Absalom, it serves as a hub between other districts.
The Coins is Absalom's main commercial district, where all manner of goods are for sale at any time of day. It was also the location of the controversial slave pits of Absalom.
The Docks is the harborfront district of Absalom, hosting myriad ships from all over Golarion. The Flotsam Graveyard, an underwater fortification of sunken ships, guards the entrance to the harbor while the Wave Riders patrol above the waterline.
Eastgate serves as a sort of middle-class residential district, housing craftspeople, workers from other districts, minor nobles, and the like. Green Ridge is a prominent neighbourhood of the district. The azarketi maintain the enclave of Gilltown within this district.
The Foreign Quarter of Absalom serves as a home away from home for the many cultures and people who have immigrated to the City at the Center of the World, with whole neighborhoods of the district taking on the flair and character of faraway lands. Notable landmarks include the great Irorium and the Grand Lodge of the Pathfinder Society.
The Ivy District houses the beating heart of Absalom's art scene. Theaters, bardic schools such as the White Grotto, and all sorts of street performers can be found among the manor houses and gardens of the district.
The Petal District is, overwhelmingly, the wealthiest district in Absalom, boasting broad boulevards, extensive estates, and institutions of higher learning such as the College of Mysteries.
Nearly constantly flooded due to a combination of poor architectural choices and neglect, the slums known as the Puddles remain the poorest of Absalom's inhabited districts.
Primarily a residential district, not unlike Eastgate, Westgate exists as a quiet, safe district where the residents largely keep to their own while biding their time to make a run at getting into the Petal or Ivy Districts
If the Ivy District, with its art and entertainment, is the heart of Absalom, the Wise Quarter is its mind. Housing such institutions as the Arcanamirium, the Blakros Museum, and the Forae Logos, the District is a center of scholarship and governance for the city as a whole

What is today called the Precipice Quarter was once Absalom's Beldrin's Bluff district, a quaint and quiet neighborhood featuring tea shops, minor governmental buildings, and a few pleasure houses. In 4698 AR, Beldrin's Bluff ceased to exist when a massive earthquake shook the city, sheared off a large chunk of the bluff on which the district stood, and sent earth, structures, and citizens plummeting into the Inner Sea.
The district is only sparsely populated and remains one of the most dangerous parts of Absalom. Rumors of hauntings and magical mishaps from Beldrin's research plague the few residents who remain, but these rumors keep eager adventurers and Pathfinders flowing into the neighborhood to explore and brave the very dangers that are now so prevalent in this once-idyllic quarter

Places of interest in Precipe Quarter:
Arboretum Arcanis: This magical arboretum built by Beldrin once housed plants from across Golarion.
Beldrin's Tower: Also called the Tower of the Broken Shield,4 it is the only one of the wizard's three towers that still stands, and it hangs precariously over the edge.
Grislyfair: Formerly known as Wonderfair, this now haunted and abandoned amusement park was an early attempt to reclaim and reinvigorate the district after the earthquake of 4698 AR.13
Sanguine Thorn: A Milanite tavern and safehouse for liberated slaves that was ruined in the great earthquake.14 Stinger's Scar: The former pleasure park is now a seething lair of vermin from across the city.12
Titan's Fountain: A fountain that resembles a giant metal fist punching its way out of the earth; Titan's Fountain hides a long-forgotten secret.
Tower of the Horn: One of Beldrin's towers lies submerged under all but the lowest of tides at the bluff's base.
The Drownyard: Formerly known as Tri-Towers Yard and a school for Beldrin's Bluff's elite children, it is now a haunted grave leading to ancient catacombs

Absalom's Ivy District is considered the capital of the arts in the Inner Sea region. It is by far the smallest of Absalom's city districts. It derives its name from its tree-lined streets, which attract a wealthier and more aristocratic demographic than the seedier parts of town located down the bluff toward the harbor. Filled with manor homes, gardens, theaters, galleries, and discrete parlor houses, the Ivy District draws an eclectic array of artists, minor nobles, and famous actors. It is also one of the safer parts of Absalom, relatively free from the violent crimes one would expect in The Puddles or The Coins. The Ivy District is home to a large percentage of Absalom's elven and aiuvarin populations.
Light-hearted rivalries have become the staple relationship between local performers, with many works mocking and belittling other artists and their creations. These bardic feuds have given rise to the district's most famous celebrities.
Ivy District is packed full of narrow streets filled with performers, breathtaking architecture and gardens, and the finest artistic venues and attractions. Students and artists flock here to study in one of the Inner Sea region's most famous musical academies, the White Grotto,3 although it is not the only place here for artists to develop their skills—a handful of formal schools scatter the Ivy District, and working experts offer private lessons for anyone willing to pay for them.1
Other notable places of interest in the Ivy District include the Vault of Abadar, one of the god's most holy churches; and a gnomish-run magic shop known as the Laughing Sword.

Brotherhood of Abadar
The Brotherhood of Abadar is a vigilante committee that often does what the corrupt guards will not. They are favored by locals and often hired as private guards for various events.

The Ivy District is one of the safest places in Absalom, and local crime is often petty and almost never violent. The district's popularity among tourists and its famous entertainment venues mean that small-time criminals, such as prostitutes and drug dealers, thrive among the hedonistic residents and visitors. A few street gangs engage in counter-cultural art, usually using illusions to create magical temporary graffiti (which also caused a demand for immediate dispelling services among impatient nobility) and host performances on temporary stages that can easily be dismissed by the time the guard arrives. The district's major criminals are ambitious thieves drawn here by priceless works of art and the local nobles' riches.25
The district's active criminal groups include the Bloody Barbers, the Brattlebunch, the Crowsworn, the Forthright, the Silkenhand, and the Smoke Knights.

Absalom is defended by a complicated web of military and law enforcement organizations, each of which has differing mandates. The First Guard serves as Absalom's army. They man the city's walls, gates, and forts and protect it from external threats. The Starwatch is a military, intelligence, and law enforcement organization headquartered at Starwatch Keep outside the city. They enforce the Grand Council's decrees, investigate crimes that cross district lines, and look into misconduct by the city's other military and law enforcement groups. Absalom's Navy is the largest of the military branches and protects the city from attacks by sea and also oversees the hippocampus-mounted Wave Riders. Finally, the various district watches or guards investigate crimes committed only within the various districts of the city.

Today, the First Guard is an elite force of warriors, wizards and scouts solely dedicated to uncovering and quelling threats to the safety of Absalom. It is headquartered in Azlanti Keep's Grand Vault with the city watch. The First Guard mans the keep and serves as the core of the city's army, commanding other forces in times of war. The commission to command the First Guard is for life, and the force's vow is to protect the city, not the Grand Council. The First Guard is always at less than 20% capacity unless there is an active siege.
The force's current leader is Chun Hye-Seung, Captain of the First Guard and Commander Militant of Absalom. She is assisted by Symo of Wynsal, First Siege Gear, and Utgar of Gyr, Third Spell Lord. Lord Yuvin Vatir of House Damaq is Quartermaster and Silver Sword.4 Former captain Rothos of House Vastille was killed by the Whispering Tyrant himself during the siege of Absalom in 4719 AR. The captain before him, Wynsal Starborn, has retired from the force, but holds the District Seat on the Grand Council.
The First Guard helped fight off two recent attacks on Absalom. The first was the Fiendflesh Siege of 4717 AR, in which a strange alliance of demonic and undead forces took part. The most recent was an attack by the forces of the Whispering Tyrant himself in 4719 AR that left behind the necromancy-blighted landscape to the east of Absalom called the Tyrant's Grasp

Each district has their own law enforcement, called the District Watch, although individual watches all have their own names and slightly different uniforms. District watches report to their district council, and have no power outside their district, which often results in administrative conflicts when a crime tracks from one district to another (which is often used by the city's canniest criminals).
District watches and their leaders as of 4720 AR are:
The Graycloaks are the district watch of the Ascendant Court, led by Runewulf the Unbeliever.
The Token Guard is the district watch of the Coins, led by Lady Kythes Finch.
The Harbor Guard is the district watch of the Docks, led by Elmoira Taggart.
The Post Guard is the district watch of the Eastgate, led by Lord Ayunga of House Akkesh.
The Sleepless Suns are the district watch of the Foreign Quarter, led by Shristi Melipdra.
The Thistleguard is the district watch of the Ivy District, led by Zharep Apul.
The Lotus Guard is the district watch of the Petal District, led by Folant ap Morilla.
The Muckruckers are the district watch of the Puddles, led by Haigen Topkick, who is also the district's nomarch and sole member of the district council.
The Sally Guard is the district watch of the Westgate, led by Lord Winton of House Nimz.
The Learned Guard is the district watch of the Wise Quarter, led by Mendhir the Colossus.

The Edgewatch are the guard of the Precipice Quarter, created in preparation for the Radiant Festival held in 4720 AR. Most of its members are guards from other districts of the city, along with mercenaries who joined to combat the district's terrors. During the festival, the guard functioned more like privateers, obtaining funds by "stealing" from the criminals they apprehended, though a more traditional form of pay was later implemented. Under the command of Lieutenant Grospek Lavarsus, they formed a new precinct in the center of the district, though many complain about the lack of personal space, having to share offices, dormitories, and mess halls with several other members

Male Human (Taldan) Level 7 Fighter
Lieutenant Grospek Lavarsus, the Dragon of Edgewatch Station, is in command of the Edgewatch, the newly formed guard created around 4720 AR in preparation for the Radiant Festival to be held in the Precipice Quarter. He is a middle-aged Taldan man with blond hair and a mustache now showing gray hairs. Although he no longer patrols regularly, he wears his silver breastplate with honor at all times. No matter what time one enters the station, one can hear the lieutenant giving orders or metaphorically roasting a subordinate for some infraction. He was given control of this new guard after decades of exemplary service in the Post Guard, and he is a very strict leader with the noble goal of making Edgewatch the best guard in the city. His parents instilled in him the orderliness taught by Abadar, and he became a snitch and bootlicker with his teachers, which made him a target for bullying. He would have the last laugh, for he learned to manipulate the channels of authority so that all his enemies would be punished before finishing his education.
He joined the guard, where he became a true beacon of the law, rising through the ranks with each promotion. Even with the respect of his peers, the pride of his parents, and the trust of the people, he still witnessed injustice triumphing many times over, and his temper grew increasingly enraged. Although he would never physically abuse his subordinates, he had become a shouty man who didn't let any mistake go unpunished, genuinely believing that his speeches helped his subordinates improve. His guards feared him and preferred to avoid him whenever possible, with the exception of Desdelen Bolera and Moldun Ollo, whose resumes and effectiveness earned Grospek more patience with them. He loves Absalom with almost religious devotion and wants the best for the district, unfortunately, he only knows how to vent his anger on others, and because he performs the rest of his work excellently, his superiors allow him to act like a tyrant. A secret he doesn't want anyone to discover is that he's romantically attracted to Moldun, but he doesn't want to break office protocol and he waits until the dwarf retires to confess his feelings.

At the center of the City at the Center of the World is the Ascendant Court—Absalom's religious hub, the site of four mortals' ascension as deities, and the resting place of the Starstone. The Ascendant Court contains the preponderance of the city's temples as well as the Starstone Cathedral, and is also a hub between other districts: all roads in the Ascendant Court lead to the Starstone. Aside from the many temples, the district's most notable locations include the Avenue of the Hopeful, the God's Market, the Chelaxian embassy housed in the former temple of Aroden, and the Black Mask, a costume shop that transforms into a temple to Norgorber at night.
The Ascendant Court is located at the heart of Absalom, with the Petal District to the east, the Coins to the south, the Ivy District and Foreign Quarter to the west, and the Wise Quarter and Azlanti Keep to the north. The Starstone Cathedral sits at the Court's center atop a massive pillar of rock surrounded by a seemingly bottomless chasm, and is connected to the rest of the district via three bridges, one for each of the deities (Iomedae, Cayden Cailean, and Norgorber) who passed the Test of the Starstone and ascended to deific immortality here. A fourth bridge representing the dead god Aroden was destroyed in the massive earthquake of 4698 AR that damaged much of the rest of the city and has not been repaired since.

Absalom's Temple of the Shining Star, located near the street ringing the pit around the Starstone Cathedral, is the largest temple of Sarenrae north of the capital of Qadira, and the only such church in Absalom.1 The church runs several pavilions for junior priests to minister to the public for free, and devotees travel to the church at least once a month. Paladins of the goddess, especially those from Taldor, are trained in fighting with the scimitar, medicine, and the Kelesh language: skills necessary to read the holy book of the goddess.
The temple is lead by Scion Lady Xerashir of House Shamyyid, Bey of Sarenrae, who greets the dawn every morning at the Mark, the world's largest sundial.

The Coins district in Absalom is located north of the great city's docks and near the heart of the City at the Center of the World2 This area is home to much of the trade,3 both legal and illegal, that occurs within Absalom. The transient nature of its primarily merchant population facilitates the illicit exchange of drugs and other contraband.
Despite its reputation, some areas of the district such as the Monger's Mart and Grand Bazaar remain more respectable, where the potential for profit outweighs the risk of unlawful dealings. Wherever money changes hands, however, tempers and greed can get the best of even the most civil, and only The Puddles district reports more murders in Absalom.
Commerce in the district occurs at all hours. Taverns are open 24 hours a day, magical and natural illumination keep markets open through the night, and public Time Callers announce every hour on the street.
Government Myleena of House Arnsen is the nomarch of the Coins' district council, which is known as the Coin Council. Until the recent abolition of slavery within the city, Lord Navvem of House Wachail, another member of the Coin Council, held the position of Slave Overseer.
The Coins' district watch is colloquially known as the Token Guard and takes a lenient view on crime. The guard responds to offenses only when paid to do so by a private concern or to avoid the attention of the primarch. The Token Guard's typical response to a disturbance is to arrest everyone at the scene and hold them for disturbing the peace at Bail House until someone can pay for their release.

Red Silk Route: Market where the desires of the flesh are satisfied
Saucy Wench: Enormous mead hall found at the center of the Grand Bazaar

Misery Row: The only street in the city where until recently the buying and selling of slaves was permitted
Eternal Shackle: An arched monument under which a magical fire burns
The Devil's Advocates: A slave brokerage that specializes in well-trained Chelaxian slaves
Scales of Labor: The oldest and most profitable slave pit in the city
Mudhaven: The Coins' dreary, and nearly always damp, residential quarter
Temple of Lost Coins: Headquarters of the Forthright, the Coins' largest thieves' guild
Winking Cyclops Tavern: A drinking establishment
Monger's Mart: Main market of perishable items in the district
Penny & Sphinx Trust: This grand stone building is notable for the two stone sphinxes that flank the entrance.
The Lucky Nimbus: An upscale casino the size of an entire city block, it is run by the charming Gage Carlyle
A statue of a two-headed owlbear is a notable landmark
The Merchants' Quarter: A financial and business center in the east end of the Coins. Many of these meetings and deals take place in the Grand Dance Hall of Kortos, a theater where dancing troupe shows are displayed. Clockwork Cathedral: An academy of mechanics and constructs in the Merchants' Quarter. Taurean Embassy: Operated by Nuar Spiritskin in the Merchants' Quarter

The Grand Vault is an enormous hall within Azlanti Keep that serves as the final defense of the city of Absalom in case its walls and keeps are ever breached. The First Guard, Absalom's primary defense force, holds its assemblies in the room under the standards of the countless armies that have failed to breach the keep. The immense Grand Vault could once accommodate Absalom's entire population in times of siege (as it did during the First Siege of 23 AR), but it outgrew this capacity long ago.
The Grand Vault also houses immense stone tablets upon which are written Aroden's First Laws of Absalom, which formed the foundation of the city's governmental structure.

Azlanti Keep is a stone fortress in the city of Absalom that is so massive, it is considered by some to be its own city district, although it is not one officially and does not formally belong to any other city district. From its elevated vantage point along the northern walls of the city, the citadel is in a prime location to defend against overland invaders.1
In addition to serving as a military stronghold, the keep also houses the city watch and the First Guard—an elite force of warriors, wizards, and scouts dedicated solely to uncovering and quelling threats to the city's safety.
The structure draws its name from its distinctive Azlanti-influenced architecture, including wide balconies and an immense flat roof accessible from the inside. These are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also provide platforms for siege equipment. This design is believed to have been created by the Last Azlanti himself to protect his newly built city. Aroden supposedly imbued the keep with twelve magical defenses that could turn back any threat. However, only three remain active, and no one knows how to activate or use the other nine

The tavern's employees all work for owner Lady Kythes Finch, captain of the Token Guard, so unwelcome advances are often dealt with by one of the many off-duty guardsmen who number among the meadhall's patrons. Lady Kythes Finch is the captain of the Token Guard in the Coins district of the city of Absalom, and also the owner of the Saucy Wench mead Hall.
Token Guard
Lady Kythes captains the Token Guard from the Bail House, their headquarters in The Coins. Under Lady Kythes' watch, the Token Guard takes a lax attitude toward crime unless someone important is the victim, and often resorts to fining suspected offenders instead of investigating crimes. Lady Kythes worries that she and the Token Guard would lose a major source of income in bail payments should the wealthy families of the Coins turn against the guard.
The Saucy Wench
Lady Kythes spends much of her off-duty time tending to her "infamous" drinking and entertainment establishment, the Saucy Wench. Located at the east end of the Grand Bazaar, the Saucy Wench is a popular place and has a reputation for being one of the less sketchy establishments thanks to the constant presence of Finch's Token Guard members who frequent the drinking hall.
Given the relative safety of the Wench, it is attractive to the wealthy and noble of The Coins who want to experience a bit of the lives of the poor folks of the district. This, of course, attracts sticky fingers, and these visitors find themselves the target of petty pickpockets and scammers. The Coins' more established and professional criminals avoid the Wench.
Relationships As of 4720 AR, Lady Kythes was romantically involved with Lord Riodos Morilla, who heads the Guild of Spears mercenary group. Together they hope their combined influence can bring more stability to the Coins and more coins to their own pockets.

The Foreign Quarter is the city district of Absalom in which much of the city's non-native population resides, and its neighborhoods take on the flavor and character of distant lands. It is located on Absalom's west side, sandwiched between the Ivy District and Wise Quarter to the north, the Ascendant Court and Coins to the east, the Docks and Puddles to the south, and Westgate to the west.
The district's lower taxes for non-citizens make it popular for migrants from the rest of the Inner Sea region and beyond. Foreign merchants with businesses find the area particularly attractive due to an equivalent extension of "citizenry protection" offered to any resident of the Foreign Quarter who has lived there more than three months. This area of the city has a distinct, culturally exotic feel, even compared to the city as a whole.
The district watch is known as the Sleepless Suns and based in Utterhome

The Sleepless Suns are the district guards of the Foreign Quarter district of the city of Absalom. Utterhome serves as the Suns' headquarters, and they are led by commander Shristi Melipdra.
As the guards of the most diverse district of Absalom, the hierarchy of the Sleepless Suns can seem confusing to outsiders. They incorporate ranks and titles from different cultures outside Avistan, including from Garund and Casmaron. Their impressive range of respected officers have given them a reputation as one of the most prestigious precincts of guards in Absalom.2
Each guard is encouraged to utilize their own unique fighting style in defense of Absalom. The most common crisis the Sleepless Sun guards must deal with are exotic beasts that sometimes escape from the Irorium or the Grand Lodge, though they do battle the occasional evil cult or rogue mage. Those who have a pin from doing battle in the Irorium are especially well-respected

Utterhome is the base of operations for the Sleepless Suns, the guard of Absalom's Foreign Quarter. The structure was a manor in the Osirian style, complete with Jadwiga ice statues, glass panels imported from New Thassilon, Tian Xia-style pools, and Vudrani area gardens, the fortress reflects the district's diversity. The very name Utterhome represents the many ways in which languages refer to the concept of home, and all people are welcome regardless of their cultural background. The guard's name also has a similar concept, indicating that the sun never sets for them, as their members come from all over the world. Therefore, when it is night in Absalom, it is day in Tian Xia, and its members embody that devotion to citizen protection.

She eventually joined the Pathfinder Society, and he joined the guard of the district where they were stationed and his ability to resolve conflicts non-lethally allowed him to rise through the ranks. When his sister returned home to establish a Pathfinder Lodge, he stayed behind, rising to captain of the guard in 4718 AR. He has compassion for those who want to improve their lives but will not allow anyone, whether criminals or his own officers, to commit cruel acts in his presence.

The neighborhood's premier attraction is the Irorium, a coliseum that hosts gladiatorial combats, staged sea battles, religious festivals, and many other types of events, and is said to be the largest open-air arena in the Inner Sea region. A nearby tavern, the Crimson Coin, runs a bustling trade with the gamblers and gladiators of the Irorium. Tiantown is a neighborhood in the Foreign Quarter where most of the Tian Xia immigrants on Absalom reside. Although empires on that continent tend to be long-lasting, their fall results in great trauma for their inhabitants, who then move to Absalom and the most recent wave of migration came with the collapse of Lung Wa. Rival cultures and past enmities occasionally resurface, but the residents prefer the security of a familiar culture and language, blending with the more curious aspects of Absalom. Other unique residents include nagas, hobgoblins from Kaoling, and strange goblins never before seen in the Inner Sea.

Blackblade's is a successful fighting academy where former pathfinder and mercenary Benkhal Blackblade instructs his students in combat for five pieces of silver twice a week. Novices spar in the academy's courtyards, serving as an advertisement to attract more students, while the most talented are personally trained by Benkhal inside the building. Most students do not live on the premises, with the exception of the instructors, who at the end of the week lock the doors and meet with former students for parties that last until dawn

Benkhal Blackblade is a former Pathfinder, mercenary, and instructor at Absalom's fighting academy, Blackblade's. He lets his staff do most of the work while he goes to the Wounded Wisp, where he reminisces about the old days with the only surviving member of his adventuring party, Aram bin Kaleel. Aram has become an advisor to the Pathfinder Society adventuring parties, and Benkhal is frustrated that he wasn't able to complete all the dungeons and clues his party found before retiring. He's looking for "youngsters" to follow the clues and report back to him. Unfortunately, his memory isn't what it used to be, and following his notes can get a party into more trouble than the treasure at the end of the dungeon is worth.

Devil's Garden, also known as Cheliax's Garden, is a neighborhood in the Foreign Quarter where both exiles from the nation and agents of House Thrune live together, enjoying wine, opera, and the company of each other most of which cannot return to their homeland. After the civil war, many nobles went to Absalom to escape persecution, although several were killed by the new regime, which did not provoke a strong response from Absalom beyond a letter of disapproval to their embassy. Tensions have eased in recent decades, and as long as these nobles do not act against Her Majestrix, they have nothing to fear. Throughout the district, hatred and detestance toward Ravounel can be observed

The Docks is both a location in the city of Absalom and an official city district. Since most travelers arrive in Absalom by ship, the Docks is the first part of the city they see. Hundreds of maritime vessels arrive and depart from the Docks every day, and it is a bustling area where longshoremen constantly load and unload cargo destined for Absalom's markets and elsewhere. The district itself is a rather rough place, as the district watch—known as the Harbor Guard—tends to turn a blind eye to most brawls and the like as long as things do not get out of hand. Young touts announce the services of all manner of businesses everywhere in the district, including a number of the Docks' cheap waterside taverns and brothels.
Like Absalom's other city districts, the Docks district is governed by a district council, here called the Dock Council and headquartered in Crestwatch, one of the city's ten tallest buildings. As of 4720 AR, the nomarch of the Dock Council was Lord Archych of House Dureanz

Just off the shoreline in the Bay of Kortos lies a maze of scuttled and half-sunken shipwrecks known as the Flotsam Graveyard. Most of the wrecks are the result of one of the many failed invasions of the city (see History of Absalom) and now guard Absalom from an invasion by sea.
Two world-class shipyards are located in the Docks: the Devil's Own and the Sea King Shipyard.
The largest crane in the world, known as the Beast, is located at the Long Pier near the center of the Docks. The Beast is used to move the largest and heaviest loads in Absalom.
The Grog Pit is the Docks' most notorious tavern and flophouse.
The simple stone building of Ogrekin Hall is the home of the Ogrekin transporting business, which can transport anything to anywhere within Absalom.
The Pickled Imp is a curio shop operated by Guaril Karela.

The Petal District is located in the northwestern part of Absalom, east of the Ascendant Court, atop the Watercleft cliff face upon a rise of land known as Aroden's Hill.
Known as the wealthiest district of the City at the Center of the World, it is also home to its most powerful noble families. The district's name comes from the well-maintained rows of flowers that run down the center of almost every paved street in brick-framed medians. In the opulent palaces, decadent balconies, and elaborate gardens of the rich and powerful lies the dark truth of the lives of the upper classes, who constantly vie for power through poison and murder as often as armistice and negotiation, and seek to outdo their neighbors in the opulence of their estates.
Unlike the other district heads that are referred to as nomarchs, the proper form of address of the head of the Petal District council is satrap. The satrap of the Petal District is Lord Urkon of House Ormuz

The Silken Court is a brothel in the Petal District of Absalom. It is the city's most expensive establishment of its type, and among of the Inner Sea's most famous. Previously owned and managed by Elissa the Fair until her recent retirement, it has since been fully renovated by its new manager, the Calistrian Head Hetaera Dyrianna of House Avenstar.
The Silken Court is a manor with large stained-glass windows depicting Calistria surrounded by wasps that are said to come to life for rituals or as a security measure. The interior is decorated in a decadent fashion with rich woods, fine dinnerware, a small chapel to Calistria, and a gallery of nude artwork from famed artists. The gallery's centerpiece is a full-length portrait of Dyrianna depicted as Calistria that was painted by Absalom's most famous artist, Endrik Archerus.
The building is closely guarded inside and out by off-duty members of the Lotus Guard.
Services The Court offers alcoholic beverages, drugs, baths, massage, and courtesans who possess a wide array of skills. Among its clientele under Elissa's management was Gyr of House Gixx when he was primarch of Absalom.
Courtesans Under Dyrianna's management, prospective clients of the Court's courtesans must either be referred in writing by another patron or personally approved by Dyrianna herself.

Chesele: Level 12 rogue female Keleshite human Chesele is a courtesan of the Silken Court, known for her keleshite beauty and wit. She is capable of entertaining not only carnally but also with conversations that can last for hours after the act, making her a favorite of Lady Dyrianna as she is able to extract information from Absalom's most influential clientele. The price to be in her company is very high, but this only means that nobles often spend time with her, with Lord Kerkis and Lord Juartos being the most talkative, much to the dismay of their families.
Nobukazu: Level 5 rogue male kitsune Nobukazu is a courtesan of the Silken Court who immigrated from Tian Xia and whose shapeshifting abilities have made him very popular in his profession. He usually appears as a man with short-haired red hair with a mischievous smile on his face, and when he's not working, he enjoys performing at the Ivy Playhouse or entertaining people with stories at the Gutless Griffon.
Versien of Nisroch: Male human Versien of Nisroch is a courtesan from Nidal who works at the Silken Court, specializing in domination, contortion, and the use of tools from his homeland, which he employs with religious fervor, as he is a follower of Zon-Kuthon and a regular at the Tempest, where the secret temple of his faith is located. He has white skin, black hair, and wears dark leather clothing designed by the dhampir Theodora Signe. He is extremely popular with female clients, with Lady Delveris being his most important client, although he is secretly allied with her sister, Lady Sarnia, who is the only woman in Absalom with whom he sleeps for free

Lady Dyrianna of House Avenstar—head hetaera of Calistria, guildmistress of Absalom's Courtesans' Guild, scion lady of House Avenstar, and councilor of the Ascendant Court—is the ranking sacred prostitute and high priestess of Absalom's Pleasure Salon of Calistria, and manager of its Silken Court brothel. Her portfolio of interests and connections makes her one of Absalom's most influential people.
Background Early in her life, Dyrianna bore two children while she was enslaved, and after her second child was stolen and sold into slavery she gouged out the eye of her owner in rage. Her owner then sought to sell her to a new owner in Cheliax around 4688 AR when a priest of Absalom's Pleasure Salon of Calistria named Sarielle Avirzaden spotted her in a sin pit in The Coins, bought the beautiful aiuvarin out of slavery, and freed her.
Since then, she was adopted into House Avenstar, gained control of the temple prostitutes and the entire temple of Calistria, and bought a controlling interest in the city's Courtesans' Guild, which regulates paid companions who are neither stage performers nor streetwalkers.
Relationships Her control over Absalom's Calistrians, the Courtesans' Guild, and House Avenstar grants her a unique degree of influence over the city's religious, commercial, and legal structures. The members of each group also overlap in interest and often work with several of Dyrianna's groups at once. She is particularly connected to her former Calistrian mentor Avirzaden and has quietly supported the Citizens' League's opposition to Lady Darchana Madinani's proposed moral reforms.
Through the personnel of the salon, she controls an extensive spy network which provides information that she discreetly offers to the highest bidder. Chelaxian, Qadiraan, and elven houses have long paid extensive contracts for her services, though she strictly prohibits selling any information that might compromise the city of Absalom or its Grand Council.
As part of her support for the Citizens' League, Dyrianna has also made this network available to Lady Adrielle Neprathep of House Fyrlenn. She also maintains close friendships with Kerkis of House Damaq, Samel Maleagant, and Eliza Petulengro.
Dyrianna is also a devoted abolitionist, resorting to violence at times to gain revenge on slavers but often also bankrupting, disgracing, or otherwise ruining them. While her older child remains at her side, Dyrianna still seeks her younger child that was sold into slavery.
Depictions The Silken Court contains an art gallery whose centerpiece is a full-length portrait of Dyrianna depicted as Calistria, painted by Absalom's most famous artist Endrik Archerus

The Lotus Guard patrols the Petal District, being Absalom's highest-paid guard and also the most corrupt, turning a blind eye when a nobleman is involved in a crime. Their base of operations is at Hillview Station, and their captain, Folant ap Morilla, usually keeps the guard away from his adoptive family, as he finds the murderous wing of his house distasteful.
