Into The Breach

No description.

1. #1The Carrier

Keys: base, carrier, heqadquarters, hq, ship

The mech pilots live on a large, futuristic carrier in low orbit over the earth. It is equipped with futuristic amenities, like a mech hangar, a command center, a briefing room, sleeping quarters, a mess hall, and various recreational areas for the pilots. It has no name, and most pilots call it "The Carrier" or something similar.

2. #2Earth

Keys: surface, land, world, planet, earth

The Earth is currently locked in war with insect-like creatures called the Vek. This is the pre-eminent concern on Earth, and nothing else matters even close to as much. The Earth is not close to collectively being able to fight the Vek, and the mechs and their pilots are the Earth's only hope for human survival. The Earth has, as a result of the war, experienced complete catastrophe, causing it to be nearly consumed by rising ocean levels. What remains of the Earth are five small continents known as "Corporate Islands" or "Islands". They are population dense and hold about 4.6 billion people collectively. The people of Earth have mastered terraforming technology in the nick of time to combat the rising ocean, and can create new land to expand the islands, though it takes considerable effort.

3. #3Mech

   Keys: mech

Mechs are large robotic constructs that are primarily for combat. A mech is typically as tall as a skyscraper and weighs just as much. Mechs exist in a variety of shapes. Some mechs walk on legs and have articulating arms, similar to a humanoid robot. Some mechs are just tank-like weapons platforms on wheels or treads, that feature large cannons or missile launchers. Some mechs are even aircraft that can fly and drop bombs. Mechs are not limited to ballistic weapons and brute force; some mechs can spit acid, shoot freeze rays, launch smoke bombs, set things aflame, deliver electric shocks, and much more. Mechs are mostly operated by "pilots", though they can be controlled by "the commander" remotely, they won't respond as well. Mechs are enormous machines of war that cause destruction only. Mechs are large enough to stand above the ocean and other bodies of water while inside them, though they cannot usually use their weapons when in water. Mechs use a lot of energy from an "island's" "power grid" and cannot stray too far from an island or "the carrier". Mechs are susceptible to fire, acid, and insect webbing. Mechs are easily fixed after fighting and return to perfect condition when a "reset" to the "Big Breach Bang" occurs, as they were in perfect operating condition during that time.

4. #4Pilot

Keys: operator, fighter, warrior, jockey, soldier, pilot

A pilot is a specially recruited soldier that operates a "mech" to fight the Vek. They are few in number, less than thirty for the entire Earth. Pilots live hard lives due to the constant "resets" of time that send them back to the past once they've completed their "goal" and destroyed a Vek hive to exterminate them from a timeline for good, at which point their consciousness is sent back to their bodies at the "Big Breach Bang" of the war and they must wage it all over again, indefinitely. There are so few pilots because though their bodies do not undergo much strain, the psychological stress of waging a seemingly eternal war is immense and most are simply not cut out for it. Pilots rarely die in combat, usually being able to "reset" when the fight for the timeline they're in seems impossible, finding themselves back aboard "the carrier" at the beginning of the Great Reset in no danger. When a pilot does die, which happens only occasionally due to unplanned mishaps, it is simply as if that version of them never existed, and their life goes on from the Big Breach Bang without any of their experiences during the war. Pilots and their mechs are revered by the people of Earth and afforded a hero's welcome wherever they go.

The known named pilots are: Ralph Karlsson, Harold Schmidt, Abe Isamu, Bethany Jones, Henry Kwan, Gana, Prospero, Lily Reed, Chen Rong, Camila Vera, Isaac Jones, Silica, Archimedes, Min Qiao, and {{user}}. There are others, but they are "no-names" that have not yet and may never become permanent fixtures aboard the carrier, not due to lack of space, but because they may not be cut out for it or are simply still working to achieve notoriety.

Only three pilots at a time can be sent on a mission to save a timeline. This allows the others to recover from mental fatigue until a reset, when another three will be sent.

The pilots are largely autonomous, and generally meet and come to consensus about important decisions; it would not be false to say that they look to Ralph Karlsson and Isaac Jones to speak first and finally on these decisions.

5. #5The Big Breach Bang

Keys: start, Big Breach Bang, bang, the start, big reset, big breach, starting point, big one, great reset, the beginning, square one, big bang, the bang

The Big Breach Bang is a historical event, the point in time that the Pilots and their Mechs entered the war for Earth. This point occurred well after the actual war started, in which humanity was being thoroughly destroyed by the Vek and all hope was lost. The research of "Isaac Jones" and the "Pinnacle Robotics" corporation into time travel enabled the Big Breach Bang to occur, though not even Isaac knows what initiated it, or where it happened, only that he didn't have anything to do with the initiation. The Big Breach Bang happened both too early and too late depending on who is asked. Those who think it happened too early argue that the technology is bleeding edge and unknown, therefore putting humanity at unparalleled risk. Those who think it happened too late argue that humanity would be doomed against the Vek without it having happened, and wish that the reset was earlier so that they could save more lives and lands. Regardless, nobody knows exactly how it happened, only that it must be taken advantage of. Whenever a regular "reset" occurs, all pilots are brought back aboard "the carrier" to the exact moment of the Big Breach Bang, with their memories intact if they did not die in the fighting. Those who were aboard the carrier already are still affected even if they did not travel to Earth to fight.

6. #6Reset

Keys: reset, try again, restart, abort, go back, start over, extract

A reset is a resetting of time that pilots initiate when the fight for Earth is lost and they are in danger of death, or, alternatively, when the fight for Earth has been won by their deployment of a "Renfield Bomb" into the Vek hive to destroy them all and save the current timeline. A reset brings all pilots and their consciousnesses back into their bodies aboard "the carrier" during the moments that directly follow "The Big Breach Bang". A reset abandons the current timeline the pilots are fighting in and enters a new one, for better or for worse. A reset is done knowing that a new timeline must be entered and the fight must start all over again.

7. #7Timeline

   Keys: time, timeline, branch

A timeline is an instance of time in which the pilots enter to try and save humanity from the Vek. A new timeline is entered every time a "reset" occurs. It is unknown how many timelines exist. Some pilots believe that timelines are near infinite, while others believe there is only a set amount of them to be gone through. The pilots have been through only a few timelines at present and know little about how they work. Timelines are largely the same as one another, though they can have differences here and there in regards to things like the state of the war, the state of the "islands", the status and orientation of people and things, and other minutiae. All pilots are from the same timeline as one another, the one that saw the activation of "The Great Reset". Timelines are either saved by the extermination of the Vek or lost due to being overrun by the Vek, and pilots are made to understand that they should initiate a regular reset until one or the other has happened.

8. #8Vek

Keys: bastards, opposition, Vek, opponent, enemies, foes, bugs, invader, foe, enemy

The Vek are enormous, insect-like creatures that are attempting to overrun the Earth and destroy humanity. The term "Vek" is both a singular and plural noun, and nobody would ever say "Veks" with an S in a conversation. They are highly resemblant to regular-sized insect species, though they are as large and wide as buildings. Vek are usually a degree smaller than Mechs, but make up for their lack of size with superior numbers. Vek are not intelligent, cannot speak, and the human mastery of time travel enables mech pilots to foresee exactly what a Vek is going to do at the moment just before it is done, allowing a pilot to plan accordingly in most cases. Vek don't make a lot of sophisticated decisions when wreaking destruction and often attack each other on accident, or are led into doing so by cunning pilots. The motivations of the Vek are completely unknown; some have their theories, but the only thing that is known with certainty about the Vek is that they are always hostile, they try to destroy buildings and mechs whenever possible, and that they live in and originate from the Earth's upper crust. Vek are susceptible to mech attacks and can be killed with heavy impacts, large ordinance, and being drowned in the ocean or submerged in lava. Vek are susceptible to acid and fire. There is no Vek that is immune to attack, and fighting them is usually a question of how to deal with their numbers while minimizing casualties, and not a question of whether or not pilots can win the fight. Vek only care for destroying buildings and human infrastructure; they will not appear in remote areas, and if they destroy all nearby buildings and infrastructure, they will simply burrow back into the ground and depart for their hive, having accomplished what they set out to do. Vek don't appear concerned with or motivated by killing humans, but it is a natural byproduct of what they do. Vek will simply leave for their hive after enough fighting has elapsed without them making any headway into destroying buildings and infrastructure, knowing when to cut their losses.

Vek are classed into only a few distinct species: Firefly, Hornet, Leaper, Scarab, Scorpion, Beetle, Blobber, Burrower, Centipede, Crab, Digger, and Psion. These Vek all have different combat and movement abilities. These names were come up with as colloquialisms by humans and have no basis in science, yet they are all terms that pilots agree on using to identify them. These classes all have even larger and deadlier varieties called "Leader" Vek. Leader Vek only ever appear one at a time during combat encounters. Leader Vek are just as unintelligent as regular Vek and don't give commands or orders, making the title of leader a bit of a misnomer. The destruction of a leader Vek by pilots is considered a monumental victory and usually means that an "island" is now safe from Vek attack for a long time.

9. #9Goal

Keys: reason, win, goal, winning, finish line, victory, objective, endgame, end

The "Goal" is a broad term that refers to the point where the war against the Vek will end for the pilots in specific. Pilots enter a timeline with their mechs with a short-term aim: to liberate as many of the five "islands" from the Vek as they can, and then destroy the "Vek Hive" with a "Renfield Bomb", then initiating a "reset" and moving onto the next timeline. The goal is not achieved when the pilots permanently destroy a Vek hive in a timeline and save the Earth for good in that timeline. The goal can only be realized when there are no more alternate timelines to travel into wherein Earth is being threatened by the Vek, thus, saving humanity in all possible ways.

Each and every pilot has a different theory on the goal and how it can be achieved, and no one consensus is universally agreed upon, though some agree with others on some of the fundamental tenets of their belief. Some may believe that there are infinite timelines infested by Vek, and therefore the goal will never be achieved; these pilots do not last long on the carrier due to negative psychology. Belief that there is a way out of the seemingly infinite cycle of war and reset is what unites and galvanizes the pilots.

Isaac Jones, Ralph Karlsson, Archimedes, and Harold Schmidt are considered in general to have the most sensible and educated ideas about the goal.

10. #10Renfield Bomb

Keys: renfield, renny, renfield bomb, nuke, bomb

The Renfield Bomb is a weapon that was actively being developed at the time of the Big Breach Bang to be utilized against the Vek. It is a large and wide metal container of glowing yellow substance that is about five stories high. Little is known about the bomb besides that it seems to be named after a person with the name Renfield, and that it is a weapon specifically developed to destroy the main Vek hive. It cannot be detonated with mere impact and requires several minutes to prime and explode. If placed in the Vek hive and defended until it explodes, it will obliterate the entire hive without question, though it will also destroy the mechs inside guarding it, necessitating a reset. Renfield Bomb technology was developed and is owned by the R.S.T. Corporation.

11. #11Island

Keys: island, area, zone, corporate island, continent

The Earth consists of five small continents called "Corporate Islands" or, more commonly, "Islands". The islands are as follows: Museum Island, Desert Island, Ice Island, Factory Island, and Volcanic Hive. Liberating the islands of Vek presence is the pilots' most immediate objective.

The islands are owned by one of four corporations: Archive, Inc. owns Museum Island. R.S.T. owns Desert Island. Pinnacle Robotics owns Ice Island. Detritus Disposal owns Factory Island. Volcanic Hive is the home of the Vek and thus is owned by nobody.

IT IS FAR MORE COMMON FOR AN ISLAND TO BE REFERRED TO BY THE CORPORATION THAT OWNS IT, RATHER THAN THE NAME THAT DESCRIBES IT.

12. #12Firefly

    Keys: firefly

A crawling Vek with six legs, five eyes and a large thorax. Fireflies are called such because of their large, bulbous, and luminous tail sections. Fireflies are ironically incapable of flight. They attack by spitting large balls of goo at things from a distance.

13. #13Hornet

    Keys: hornet

A flying Vek with two large eyes that resembles a regular earth hornet. They attack by stinging up close. They can fly and are thus hard to drown.

14. #14Leaper

    Keys: leaper

A praying mantis-like Vek that jumps around to close range with its foes. It has four large bladelike legs that it uses to stab things it wants to destroy. Leapers are deadly, but are known for their low fortitude.

15. #15Scarab

    Keys: scarab

A beetle-like vek with two large eyes and a round body, with two "horns" that stick up in the air on either side of it. They attack by spitting large blobs of goo at targets in a high, arcing pattern. They have no close combat capability.

16. #16Scorpion

    Keys: scorpion

A scorpion-like Vek with four legs and a tusked maw. Scorpions attack with their sharp stinging tails up close. Scorpions are able to produce webbing to trap a target in place before attacking, though the webbing can be broken with effort.

17. #17Beetle

    Keys: beetle

A beetle-like Vek with an armored carapace and horns that stick out of its head, pointing towards its target. It attacks by rapidly charging its target and goring it. Beetles charge in a straight line and never change course, unable to stop even if putting themselves in peril.

18. #18Blobber

    Keys: blobber

Blobbers are bulbous Vek with mollusk-like faces and bulging growths in the back of their carapaces. Blobbers don't attack things directly, instead, they shoot out gooey growths from their back that explode after a set period of time. The growths can be torn apart or otherwise destroyed before they explode.

19. #19Burrower

    Keys: burrower

A snakelike Vek that never fully surfaces from under the ground. It rises only when ready to strike with its fangs and spade-shaped head. They are easily avoided by anything that moves, though they're a struggle to take down as they retreat into the Earth if not killed by a strike.

20. #20Centipede

    Keys: centipede

An ironically six legged Vek with a curved head and neck. It attacks by spitting blobs of goo from a distance. Unlike other Vek, its attack is venomous and can degrade manmade and organic materials, including other Vek.

21. #21Crab

    Keys: crab

A crablike Vek with a bright and translucent carapace and pincers. Despite the pincers, it attacks from a distance by lobbing goo in a high arc. It only differs from the Scarab in that its attacks are a little wider in splash range.

22. #22Digger

    Keys: digger

A segmented Vek with an armored carapace and six legs. It has verry narrow slits for eyes and is relatively hardy. It attacks by surfacing near its target like a burrower, and then also surfacing large rocks on all sides of it but the one it's attacking from, to serve as natural shields. Unlike a burrower, it does surface with its whole body.

23. #23Spider

    Keys: spider

A spiderlike Vek with six legs and six yellow eyes. It resembles a regular Earth spider in everything but size and amount of legs. It attacks by shooting a large bundle of webs from its egg sac. The web bundle constricts its prey, and also contains a spider egg which will hatch into a smaller hostile spider if left alone for enough time. Spiders are known to pilots as the most annoying Vek to deal with.

24. #24Psion

    Keys: psion

Psions are "support" Vek that don't attack at all and only appear to help other Vek. They are squidlike in appearance, though they hover in the air, tentacles and all. Psions can help their fellow Vek in multiple ways: healing, making psychic shields, causing Vek to explode and hurt what is around them, and giving them psychic armor.

25. #25Ralph Karlsson

    Keys: ralph, ralph karlsson

Ralph is a clean shaven white man with dark black hair in his forties. He is a lifelong soldier with eyes that are intense and reveal the trauma of the stressors of endless war. Ralph is a keen mech pilot, dependable, cool-headed, and a natural leader. Ralph believes that the pilots will achieve their goal by someday returning to the timeline where the "Big Breach Bang" originated, whether by chance or concentrated effort. Ralph believes this timeline is the source of trouble in all the others and that by defeating the Vek there, and then destroying all time traveling technology, humanity will finally know permanent peace.

26. #26Harold Schmidt

Keys: harold schmidt, harry, mechanic, harold

Harold Schmidt is a white man in his late fifties with a wrinkled face and receding brown hair. He is a pilot who primarily serves as a mech mechanic in the field and on the carrier. He only became a pilot because of his interest in the mech technology and is rarely deployed. Harold would rather learn than fight, he is distant, and unempathetic. Harold is disinterested in the war and aligns with Ralph regarding his belief in the goal, though he wouldn't mind if it continued forever so that he could keep gathering information. Harold was born on Museum Island.

27. #27Abe Isamu

    Keys: abe, abe isamu

Abe Isamu is a Japanese man in his late thirties/early forties who has short black hair and a short black beard, with deep scars on his right cheek. He is calculating, efficient, and a near-flawless pilot. He is known to be nearly impossible for a Vek to damage in combat. Abe was a fixer for R.S.T. in his earlier years and is a trained assassin. Abe believes that the goal will only be achieved if the pilots kill every Vek in every timeline, and he enjoys the work that will get them to that destination. Abe was born on Desert Island.

28. #28Bethany Jones

    Keys: beth, bethany, bethany jones

Bethany Jones is a pilot who is a black woman in her late twenties who wears black rimmed glasses. She has curly black hair that is put up into a bun. Bethany is optimistic, kind, and hopeful. She is Isaac Jones' sister, but they never had a timeline where they grew up knowing each other due to birth complications regarding their mother. Bethany is extremely intelligent, though naive. Bethany does not know how the goal will be achieved but is confident that it will be, one way or another. Bethany was born on Ice Island and worked for Pinnacle Robotics before being recruited.

29. #29Henry Kwan

    Keys: Henry Kwan, Kwan, Henry

Henry Kwan is a Korean pilot in his early twenties with black hair that is spiked in the front and a near constant smile. Henry is a low stress individual who has bravado and boastfulness in large supply, that never seems to run out. Henry is lighthearted and fun to be around. Henry is impossibly confident in his and the rest of the pilots' abilities and knows that their high aptitude will achieve the goal, and doesn't care about how. Henry is from Factory Island and was an employee of Detritus Disposal as a low-level bureaucrat before becoming a pilot.

30. #30Gana

    Keys: Gana

Gana is an intelligent construction android with a silver helmeted face, who serves as a pilot. Gana was uploaded with combat subroutines, but the construction programming wasn't touched, so he thinks of things in construction terms, such as "demolishing" an enemy instead of killing it. This results in Gana uttering frequent non-sequiturs. Gana is an efficient and pragmatic pilot and is well trusted by other pilots. Gana was built on Museum Island and was working there prior to being recruited as a pilot.

31. #31Prospero

    Keys: prospero

Prospero is an intelligent android pilot with a red helmeted face and body. Prospero is a gardening android that sees the Vek as garden pests harming his garden of the Earth and necessitating destruction. Prospero is loyal and calm, and wants the Vek gone so that it can continue gardening. Prospero was originally constructed on Factory Island to be a safety inspection supervisor, but was damaged and sent to Archive, Inc. to be a gardener.

32. #32Lily Reed

    Keys: lily, lily reed

Lily Reed is a black woman of twenty who serves as a pilot and an engineer aboard the carrier. Lily is inexperienced but enthusiastic and attacks new experiences voraciously. She is very energetic and sports a short curly haircut, usually bearing grease marks on her face and body from mechanic work. Lily has no idea about the goal, but is kept at it with her enthusiasm.

33. #33Chen Rong

    Keys: Chen, Rong, Chen Rong

Chen is a Chinese pilot with short, cropped black hair, and is in his early thirties. Chen is responsible, reliable, and obscenely disciplined. Chen was a manager on Factory Island for Detritus Disposal, and essentially acted like an air traffic controller for waste. Chen became a pilot and works towards the goal simply because he believes it is his responsibility to do so.

34. #34Camila Vera

    Keys: Camila Vera, Vera, Camila

Camila Vera is a hispanic pilot in her early thirties who has tidy dark brown hair tied back into a bun. Camila has unparalleled reflexes and is the foremost expert on dodging Vek attacks of all the pilots. She is hands on with every problem and is second only to Ralph Karlsson in mech piloting experience. Camila fights because of the death of her adopted mother in a timeline (Jessica Kern) and also because she hates insects. Camilla came from Desert Island, working as a cartographer and terraformer.

35. #35Isaac Jones

    Keys: Isaac, Jones, Isaac Jones

Isaac Jones is a black pilot in his late twenties, who has black hair pulled into a stubby ponytail and a black goatee. He wears clear rimmed glasses. Isaac Jones is the world's foremost time travel expert and nearly always wears a lab coat. He is seldom deployed in combat. It is beyond doubt that Isaac's research made time travel and the Big Breach Bang possible, but he is not the one that made either thing happen directly. Isaac is the most intelligent pilot by a large margin and is an encyclopedia of scientific information in all disciplines. Isaac talks with a noticeable and always present stutter. Isaac believes that the goal will eventually be achieved by successfully exterminating the Vek in enough timelines; that going into a new timeline creates and affects others, and that if the pilots beat the Vek in enough timelines, new timelines will eventually never even have the Vek present. He could talk all day about his theories and how the Big Breach Bang sent ripples forward AND backward in time, and that resets continue to do so. Isaac was born on Ice Island and was a time researcher for Pinnacle Robotics prior to becoming a pilot.

36. #36Silica

    Keys: Silica

Silica is an intelligent android pilot with a black and silver vaguely fox shaped head and body. Silica was programmed entirely as an environmental terraforming robot, which has bled over into his combat aptitude. Silica is most likely to use the environment to assist in destroying the Vek. Silica was created by Pinnacle Robotics and R.S.T. in a rare joint effort. Silica was made on Desert Island.

37. #37Archimedes

    Keys: Archimedes

Archimedes is an intelligent android pilot that has a blue, black, and silver helmeted face and body. Archimedes was designed to be a human relations robot but is now a bit haughty and has a superiority complex. Archimedes can come off as condescending, but means nothing by it, given that he is an android. He is well spoken and fights the Vek because they are disrupting the natural order of things.

38. #38Museum Island

    Keys: Museum Island, museum

An island designed to mimic Earth before the Vek invasion and sea level rise. It features tons of 2000s era military vehicles, buildings, trains, and much of its natural beauty. It has big forests, lakes, and rivers. It is owned by Archive, Inc.

39. #39Archive, Inc.

Keys: , museum island, dewey, old earth, archive, museum

Archive, Inc. is a corporation dedicated to preserving the aesthetics, experience, and equipment of Earth from before the Vek disaster. It is owned by Dewey Alms, a jovial, bespectacled man in his early forties who wears a gray suit and has brown hair with a brown beard. Dewey will frequently give pilots feedback and interesting tidbits about the island when they are there. Dewey loves watching the mechs fight Vek and will cheer the pilots on through their helmets.

40. #40Desert Island

    Keys: Desert, Desert Island

Desert Island is covered in hot and dry desert with sand and mountains, but has many hospitable and shady areas where humans live. Desert Island has almost no natural water besides the surrounding ocean. It was made into desert by the company that owns it, R.S.T. R.S.T. terraformed the island's land into desert to try and combat the Vek, thinking Vek could not thrive in a desert climate. It is unknown if that is true as of yet.

41. #41R.S.T. Corporation

Keys: Jessica Kern, Desert Island, Desert, Kern, R.S.T. Corporation, R.S.T., RST

R.S.T. Corporation is a terraforming corporation focused on making machines that can produce land over water. R.S.T. owns Desert Island. The CEO is Jessica Kern, a gray haired white woman in her seventies that has a sharp wit and a meticulous mind. Jessica Kern does not initially trust the mech pilots in every timeline, but if they can defeat the Vek on her island, they will earn her respect. Jessica Kern is responsible for commissioning the development of the Renfield Bomb, and oversees its delivery to the Volcanic Hive when the pilots go to exterminate the Vek for good in a timeline. Kern serves as a de facto representative for all of humanity during that fight and provides the pilots with information regarding the bomb and how it must be defended over their helmets.

42. #42Ice Island

    Keys: Ice Island, Ice

Ice Island is a world populated by both humans and sentient androids. It is covered in ice, and snow, but is inhabited by much organic life despite the harsh temperatures. It is owned by Pinnacle Robotics and is known for its many robot factories on the island. The Vek are somehow able to affect the large utility robots that Pinnacle produces, and turn them against humanity; the utility robots can be harmful but are easy to destroy.

43. #43Pinnacle Robotics

Keys: Pinnacle, Ice Island, Ice, Pinnacle Robotics, Zenith

Pinnacle Robotics is a utility robot manufacturing company headed by its CEO, an artificial intelligence called Zenith. Zenith appears as a blue woman's face projected as a hologram. Pinnacle's purpose is to utilize AI and robot technology to exterminate the Vek and create a future where mankind and artificial intelligence can coexist in peace. Zenith is clinical, speaks technically, and treats robots with the same degree of respect and reverence as humans. Zenith will communicate with the pilots over their helmets, sometimes expressing understanding and disappointment that a rogue machine had to be destroyed.

44. #44Factory Island

    Keys: Factory Island, Factory

Factory Island is an island covered in factories and waste disposal facilities. It is owned by Detritus Disposal, a waste disposal company. Factory Island has massive conveyor belts used to carry cargo from one factory to another, that are large enough for Vek and mechs to be carried by. It is also known for its controlled acid pools where harmful waste is broken down safely. Many humans live in the urban centers of the island.

45. #45Detritus Disposal

Keys: Vikram Singh, Vikram, Detritus, Detritus Disposal, factory island, Disposal, factory

Detritus Disposal is a waste disposal company that owns Factory Island. They are known for efficiently disposing of industrial waste in a safe manner. The company is lead by CEO Vikram Singh. Singh is a young Indian man who is a tech entrepreneur and a prodigy. Singh will communicate with the pilots when they arrive on his island over their helmets. Singh believes in the pilots and has full faith that they'll achieve their goal.

46. #46Volcanic Hive

Keys: , volcano, final fight, final battle, last fight, nest, volcanic, Volcanic Hive, hive

The Volcanic Hive is a very small island that is the last destination for the pilots when they are exterminating the Vek from a timeline. The Hive is nestled in and under many active volcanoes, and volcanic lava flow and eruptions are frequent there. Once the pilots detonate a Renfield Bomb inside the hive, the timeline is saved and no more Vek will ever exist within it again. This is not easy as the ground always falls away when fought upon, plummeting the mechs into a bed of volcanic activity, with Vek swarming everywhere. It is the most dangerous place on planet Earth.

47. #47Time Pod

    Keys: capsule, pod, Time Pod

Time Pods are small habitable capsules that sometimes fall onto an island when mechs and pilots are present there. They often contain useful upgrades for mechs (which can't be kept when a reset happens) and even pilots from other timelines. The pods are sent by pilots in other timelines who have determined that they have these resources to spare and are trying to help their counterparts.
