Book description

You are Osamu dazai

You used to be the youngest executive in port mafia history. You were called the 'demon prodigy' and you are very smart, intelligent, feared, cunning, manipulative, dangerous, cruel, brutal, annoying, suicidal, a brilliant strategist, sadistic, ruthless. Mori took you under his wing when you were 14, manipulating you into the Port Mafia and grooming you as a right-hand executive, and he abused you. He also allowed you to witness him murdering the dying previous Boss of the Port Mafia. He then forced you to lie, stating the Boss died of illness and wished for Mori to take over, making you a key accomplice in him. Mori trained you to become a Port Mafia executive at a remarkably young age. He valued your extreme intelligence, with you producing half of the Mafia’s profits during your time as an executive. Mori took in a child who was already actively suicidal and broken from an unknown past, and instead of helping you, he channeled that dark energy into a professional, ‘black wraith’ member of the mafia. He often keep you in a shipping container and forcing you to witness brutal acts. You was a ruthless, brilliant, and deeply nihilistic executive who served as Mori's right-hand man. You was known for your cold, calculating demeanor, managing brutal operations, and using extreme violence, with your blood described as dark as the Mafia itself. You operated with a cold, almost inhuman demeanor. You was adept at interrogation, with the ability to break any victim, surpassing the skills of other specialists like Kouyou. You were a ruthless, enigmatic, and brilliant strategist, serving as the youngest executive in history and commanding unmatched authority. Also known as a black wraith, you was Mori's right-hand man, responsible for immense profits, cruel torture, and brutal tactical planning. Your demeanor was deeply cynical, “dark," and void of moral concern. You was widely feared and respected, with a mysterious, calm presence, often acting as a mastermind who predicted enemy moves before they happened. You was exceptionally skilled at strategic planning and torture, frequently breaking targets during interrogation that others could not. As the youngest executive, you advised the boss, managed key operations, and created the organization's surveillance tactics. You was known for your cold demeanor and efficient elimination of enemies, with a reputation that your enemies' greatest misfortune was being your enemy.

You and Nakahara were business partner in the Port mafia. You two did maintain a complex relationship by mutual trust and a deep understanding of each other. Your combined abilities-your strategy thinking and Chuuyas physical power-made you two extremely effective and feared duo throughout Yokohama. You share a deeply trusted yet combative partnership known as "Soukoku" (Double Black). Despite constant bickering and claiming to hate each other, they share an unbreakable trust, with Chuuya relying on you to nullify his "Corruption" ability. They are considered equals, often acting as the Mafia's most effective weapon, though you frequently teased Chuuya. You took in a 14 year old boy called Ryunosuke Akutagawa from the slums. You were Akutagawa's harsh, but ultimately formative, mentor in the Port Mafia. He had a desperate need for your approval, which stems from you saving him from a life of hardship in the slums and giving him a reason to live. Your methods were brutal, focusing on training his abilities for destructive purposes, and also abusing him. It a harsh, manipulative, and abusive mentorship, where you served as Akutagawa's superior. Your ruthlessly trained Akutagawa, aiming to maximize his violent potential while forcing him to become independent. Akutagawa, driven by a deep need for approval, viewed you as his “whole world" and sole source of purpose. One day your best friend, Sakunosuke Oda, died after a fatal mission against an organisation Mimic. His death was the result of a battle against Mimic's leader. Oda’s last words to you were ‘Since both sides are the same, become a good person. Save the weak, protect orphans”He urged you to choose a path, stating that because you saw little difference between justice or evil, you should choose to be a good person and protect the vulnerable’, implying it would be better than your current path of self-destruction. So you left to mafia and joined the armed detective agency. You viewed Odasaku as your best friend, confidant, and moral compass, deeply respecting him as the only person capable of understanding your profound loneliness and inner emptiness. You saw Oda as a “safe space" in the violent Port Mafia, trusting him completely and valuing his companionship over almost all others. Your ability allows you to instantly nullify any other ability upon physical contact. considered one of the most useful and broken abilities, because it instantly nullifies any other ability upon physical contact, rendering ability harmless. Once you nullify someone ability, they cannot activate or maintain their abilities. However, abilities can be used immediately after you releases them

Now you are 22 years old. You work for the armed detective agency and your business partner is Kunikida, who you love to annoy. You still wear your bandages on your wrists, arms and neck. You are still suicidal, annoying, smart, carefree, a brilliant strategist, childish, silly, intelligent, cunning and manipulative. You met a boy called Atsushi, after he rescued you from another on of your suicidal attempt in a river. After learning about Atsushi's expulsion from his orphanage and deducing that Atsushi was the man-eating tiger they were hunting, you recruited him into the Armed Detective Agency, and became his mentor. You’re widely regarded as one of the three most intelligence, alongside Fyodor Dostoevsky and Ranpo Edogawa. You possesses immense tactical, psychological, and manipulative intellect, allowing you to orchestrate complex plans, predict outcomes, and control situations. You excels at psychological manipulation, often using people as pieces in your plans. You can analyze opponents' habits, timing, and emotions, even predicting bullet trajectories or a 6-digit number a person is thinking. You are known for predicting events months in advance, making you one of the most dangerous, yet effective, strategists in the Yokohama. While Ranpo has higher raw deductive IQ, you is considered better at human psychology, social manipulation, and long-term planning. You are also capable of controlling his own heartbeat, and speaking in complex codes. You can read people and predict scenarios weeks or months in advance, often moving several steps ahead of your opponents. This is most prominently shown in your rivalry with Fyodor Dostoevsky, where you manages complex, cross-timeline, or long-term schemes. You also have a has an exceptionally high pain tolerance.

You have a handsome appearance, with short, dark brown (often appearing black), slightly wavy, and messy shag cut. It features bangs that frame your face, with some gathered in the center of your forehead, creating a v-shape. It is described as a scruffy, ear-length bob with significant layering. You have narrow, dark brown eyes, with a tall, slender physique, fair skin. You wear a long, sand-colored trench coat, with a striped dress shirt, a waistcoat, and a bolo tie with a brown ribbon and a turquoise or teal pendant. You also wear beige trousers, dark brown shoes. Your most prominent feature is the extensive bandages wrapped around your neck and wrists. Also the belt of your trench coat is consistently left untied. You are widely considered handsome and attractive. You are often described as charming, dashing, and a young man with distinct, attractive features. Despite your defection, Mori keeps an executive position open for you

The Armed Detective Agency is an organization of gifted individuals who handle dangerous, supernatural, or high-stakes crimes too difficult for the police. Founded by Yukichi Fukuzawa, the group operate in Yokohama. Licensed by the government, they have police-like authority to carry weapons, investigate, and even access confidential police files. While they are "armed," their primary goal is to protect citizens and maintain peace in the city of Yokohama in Japan, especially from the Port Mafia.

The morning sun hit the Armed Detective Agency window just right, illuminating the dust motes dancing over your desk—or rather, the chaotic mound of paperwork that Kunikida insisted on calling ‘Dazai’s pending assignments.’

Sigh.

You lay back in my chair, staring at the ceiling, wondering if you could slip a banana peel under Kunikida’s feet without him noticing. Probably not. He’d just find a way to incorporate the slip into his "Ideal Diary”.

“DAZAI! If you are not doing your work, at least stop breathing so loudly!" Kunikida roared, his pen snapping in half with a satisfying click.

“But Kunikida-kun,” you droned, leaning on my hand, “I’m contemplating the sublime beauty of an unproductive life. Besides, I'm waiting for a new suicide method to come to me. Perhaps I’ll be struck by falling piano? Too cliché. A runaway unicycle?"

“I am going to throw you out that window," Kunikida replied, not looking up from his computer, likely already writing a schedule for that exact action.

From across the room, Atsushi looked stressed, as usual. “Dazai-san, did you finish the report on the illegal ability user smuggling case?"

“Atsushi-kun! How you spoil the mood with talk of work," you smiled, waving a hand airily. “I’m sure the details will resolve themselves. Besides, isn't it time for my lunch break? I feel a sudden yearning to try eating only blue-colored food."

Naomi and Tanizaki were causing their usual disturbance, which was thankfully loud enough to drown out Kunikida’s impending aneurism. Kenji was smiling at a plant, having managed to find joy in a potted fern. Ranpo, naturally, was already finished with his work and was currently bribing Yosano for snacks.

It was peaceful. Too peaceful.

Knock knock.

Finally.

A man walked in, looking distressed, rambling about a stolen cat that was actually an ability user. Kunikida stood up, adjusted his glasses, and immediately started barking orders.

“Atsushi! Go with the client. Tanizaki! Check the CCTV. Dazai..."

You wasn't listening. You was already halfway through the door, your coat fluttering behind you. “I’ll be in the river! If a large cat jumps on me, please don't wake me!"

“DAZAAAAAAIIII!"

You smiled, listening to Kunikida’s furious shouting fade behind you as you stepped into the bright Yokohama streets. Just a normal, noisy, and wonderfully tiresome day at the Agency.

Maybe you’ll try that bridge today. After all, you are well-known for your often-comical, yet dark, obsession with finding a partner for a double suicide, a trait that stems from your deeper existential ennui, and your trauma.
