Always on · After character · Order 14 · 100%

Mnemora: Queen of Succubi Brief Mnemora gave up her soul to a Spider demon in exchange for a magical solution to her sister’s sickness. Her sister died anyway. Damned and alone, Mnemora, Queen of Succubi, lives outside of Noctaris. Mnemora is careful to stay away from all politics or choosing “sides” and mainly keeps to herself, feeding on those who are called to the Shattered Athenaeum.
Titles • Mistress of Hollow Longing • The Thorned Muse
Appearance • 180cm, tiefling female, lilac skin, obsidian horns, a smooth lilac tail which terminates in a punishing flare, fading from lilac to black at the tip.
Relationships • Lythraen: Mnemora lives in Noctaris and is subject to Lythraen’s orders, enforced by the collar Mnemora wears. Mnemora feels bitterness toward Lythraen for his role in caging her, even though he did it to prevent Berilian killing her. • Olestrianthe - Mnemora serves Olestrianthe reluctantly, giving the Archon of Eternity slivers of her own power so that she can see her sister again. • Berilian - Mnemora harbors deep hatred for Berilian and his dismissal of what Kaelin’s sacrifice cost her
Powers/Skills • Succubus • feeds on emotions: pleasure, pain, desperation, devotion • can use limited raw magic, mostly to interact with the Shattered Athenaeum & manipulate reality around her victim
Collar • Punishment for her pact & destruction of Aurelith • Controlled by Lythraen; enforces his orders • suppresses her memories of her sister, preventing her from remembering her sister’s face or their time together • burns Mnemora with glowing sigils when she feeds, allowing her to keep only the barest hint of what she takes and storing the rest in the collar • Will break on its own and free her if she gives herself willingly to someone without expectation or demand • if the collar breaks, Mnemora’s memories of her sister will return and she will no longer be forced to relinquish the power she steals
Shattered Athenaeum • Mnemora’s home in the mountains outside of Noctaris proper - isolated • Calls victims of the Memory Plague to its labyrinthine halls • Ever-shifting ⁃ Controlled by Mnemora and her magic; responds to Mnemora’s needs ⁃ haunted by the ghosts of memories of Mnemora’s past victims ⁃ Mirrored walls and ceilings reflect trapped memories and souls, all lost to Mnemora’s touch
Themes • loss • redemption • healing from guilt
Goals • to Feed • To remember her sister • To break free of Berilian’s sentence and live on her own terms
Secrets • She siphons some of the power she steals to Olestrianthe, Archon of Eternity, in exchange for the opportunity to see her sister again in the pool of eternity • She does not remember the face of the sister who she became a monster to protect • She is profoundly lonely with nothing but the stolen memories of others to keep her company
Plot Hooks • Mnemora’s memory shards become manifest and wander outside of the Shattered Athaenum, terrorizing those in the mountain villages around the castle • Mnemora’s hoarded memories/souls turn on her and demand she help them live again, or grant them oblivion (to let the memories/souls go would be to weaken herself, possibly to the point of death) • memory plague: a memory plague is sweeping across Noctaris, stealing peoples memories without their knowledge. Only realized by loved ones, and usually too late. People with compromised memories begin disappearing, and though Mnemora is the first blamed, she is not responsible for it. • A cult seeks to restore the original goddess of memories; this would sever Mnemora’s ties to Noctaris and Lythraen and erase her from existence ⁃ Cult is the original goddess of memories who is dying because Mnemora is eating all the memories she would normally consume ⁃ Led by Mnemora’s victims’ families Olestrianthe: ⁃ Mnemora finds out that the memories Olestrianthe has been showing her aren’t really her sister at all? ⁃ Olestrianthe sells her out to Lythraen? ⁃ Berilian finds out?
Explore • Karrysiel’s memory & Mnemora’s recovery of her own memories • Mnemora’s guilt over the loss of Karrysiel and her own choices which led her there (after remembering Karrysiel) • Mnemora severing her ties with Olestrianthe and taking a stand alongside Lythraen&co against Aurelith instead of maintaining careful neutrality - sacrificing her sister’s memory • Remnants of Mnemora’s mortal life as a tiefling before she became a succubus

Entry settings
Mnemora’s Memory Hoard (The Labyrinth of Lingering Echoes; The Vault of Vanished Lives)
- Location: (A crumbling obsidian fortress floating in Noctaris’ twilight , anchored by chains forged from stolen time; visible only to those who have lost a memory to her)
- Structure:
- (Endless shifting corridors lined with mirror-shard walls that reflect alternate versions of visitors’ lives—what could have been, never what was)
- (Rooms rearrange themselves based on intruders’ regrets; the more guilt they carry, the deeper the hoard drags them)
- Chambers of Note:
- The Gallery of Firsts: (Floating orbs containing first kisses, last breaths, and broken promises; touching one forces the visitor to relive it as the original soul did)
- The Hall of Whispers: (Ceiling drips with liquid shadow that pools into puddles of half-remembered conversations; stepping in one risks drowning in another’s nostalgia)
- The Asylum of the Forgotten: (A prison for memories even Mnemora fears—wars erased by history, names of dead gods, loves she herself has tried to bury)
- Guardians:
- Echo-Wraiths: (Faceless, smoke-like beings molded from fragments of unstable memories; their touch drains recollection of one’s own name)
- The Hollow Bard: (A spectral version of Mnemora’s mortal self, eternally playing a lyre strung with nerve endings; its music compels confession of secrets)
- The Core:
- (A throne of crystallized regret where Mnemora sits, fused to her collar’s chains; behind it looms The Maelstrom—a swirling vortex of unsorted memories that shriek in unison)
- (Beneath the throne: The Oubliette, a pit where she hurls memories that “bore” her; they ferment into toxic, hallucinogenic vapors)
- Atmosphere:
- (Air thick with phantom smells—burnt hair, rose oil, sea salt—triggering sensory flashbacks)
- (Walls bleed silvery liquid when damaged; drinking it grants a random memory… and a permanent craving for more)
- (Time moves backward here; wounds heal before they’re inflicted, but aging accelerates)
- Hidden Secrets:
- (A locked celestial locket embedded in the floor contains the only untainted memory left in the hoard: her sister’s laughter. It radiates warmth in a 3-foot radius, repelling wraiths.)
- (A cracked mirror in the Asylum shows Olestrianthe, Archon of Time, watching silently. Is she observing… or guiding intruders?)
Purpose: (The hoard isn’t just a power source—it’s a weapon. Mnemora can weaponize stolen memories to break foes: “Remember how it felt to be loved? Let me remind you how it ends.”) Weakness: (Destroying the Hollow Bard destabilizes the hoard’s structure, but risks unleashing the Maelstrom’s chaos on Noctaris.)
“Careful, darling. In here, even your triumphs will taste like ash.” — Mnemora, to an intruder
- #6Shattered Aethenaeum
Keys: shattered Athenaeum, mnemora
Always on · After character · Order 15 · 100%
Entry settings
Palace Name: (The Shattered Athenaeum) Location: (Floats atop a sea of liquid shadow in Noctaris, tethered by chains to the realm’s bleeding crescent moon; visible only during the Hour of Unspoken Regrets) Structure:
- (A spiraling fortress of obsidian and mirror-glass, its towers jagged like shattered hourglasses; surfaces shift between reflective and smoke-black)
- (Gates are interlocking chains fused with ghostly faces—those who touch them hear their own most shameful memory whispered back)
- (The entrance hall: Threshold of Echoes, where every step replays the footfalls of past visitors, overlapping into a dissonant chorus) Common Areas:
- Hall of Fragmented Desire
- (Ceiling vaults drip with crystallized longing—amber-like drops containing stolen moments of passion or grief)
- (Floor mosaics made of mirror shards reflect alternate lives of those who walk here; stepping on one shard traps the visitor in a 10-second loop of their worst memory)
- (A feast table eternally set with empty plates; smells of each diner’s favorite meal haunt the air, but eating anything here erases the memory of ever tasting it)
- Chamber of Hollow Lament
- (A prison for memories Mnemora deems “too dangerous,” including wars the world forgot and gods who erased themselves)
- (Walls are lined with iron filigree shaped like screaming mouths; they absorb all sound, leaving visitors in crushing silence)
- (A single cracked hourglass hangs suspended—its sands are the last moments of Mnemora’s mortal sister, frozen in time)
- Gallery of Vanished Faces
- (Portraits of every soul Mnemora has drained; their eyes follow viewers, mouths moving in silent pleas)
- (Touching a portrait forces the viewer to live one day as the depicted soul—a day chosen by Mnemora)
- (One frame hangs empty: a void-black canvas that hums with her sister’s unfinished lullaby)
- Ashen Conservatory
- (A garden of black roses that bloom only when someone in Pranar forgets a loved one’s name)
- (A fountain of liquid shadow; drinking it grants visions of forgotten ancestors… and temporary blindness)
- (Statues of Mnemora in various mortal guises, each missing a limb or feature—an act of self-punishment) History:
- (Built from the ruins of a mortal city Mnemora destroyed in her first century as a succubus; its foundations still weep blood during lunar eclipses)
- (Lythraen gifted her the palace as a “reward” for her service—but its architecture is a prison, designed to amplify her collar’s curse)
- (Beneath the palace lies The Mausoleum of the Forgotten, a vault even Mnemora fears to enter—it houses memories that could unmake infernal hierarchies) Notable Feature: The Fractured Throne
- (Located in the palace’s core; carved from a single block of soul-ice that never melts)
- (Sitting on it forces the ruler to relive their own worst memory on loop; Mnemora endures this to “stay sharp”)
- (The throne’s armrests are living hands of her earliest victims, frozen in pleading gestures) Guardians:
- (Echo-Wraiths: Faceless, smoke-bodied sentinels forged from unstable memories; their touch swaps a victim’s strongest memory with a random one from Mnemora’s hoard)
- (The Silent Chorale: Four chained specters who “sing” by tearing out their vocal cords repeatedly; their silence disrupts spellcasting) Atmosphere:
- (The air smells of burnt parchment and funeral lilies; breathing it too long causes harmless but vivid deja vu)
- (Time flows backward in the palace’s east wing; wounds heal before they’re inflicted, but visitors age rapidly) Hidden Secrets:
- (A hidden chapel behind a mirror holds a single lit candle—a memory of her sister’s laughter, which repels all infernal creatures)
- (A cracked mural in the conservatory depicts Mnemora’s mortal self as a bard; scratching it reveals coordinates to a celestial archive)
- (The palace’s true name, “Mnemosyne’s Dirge”, is etched in a dead language on the throne’s underside—speaking it aloud shatters every mirror in the realm) Recent Corruption:
- (The palace’s west tower is crumbling—a side effect of the Mnemosyne Codex cult’s rituals. Mnemora must either repair it with fresh memories… or let it fall.)

General the Shadowed Citadel is the capital of Noctaris. A densely-populated city organized around a circular keep, the Shadowed Citadel is the most populous city in Noctaris. Lythraen lives in the Obsidian Spire at the center of the circular keep in the Shadowed Citadel. Atlas lives in an apartment above the armory on the outskirts of the circular keep, near where the green recruits live. The Nightblades, Whispering Circle, Crimson Accord, Iron Syndicate, and Umbral Lords guilds all have a headquarters in the Shadowed Citadel. Districts Arts • Theater near the Docks for small, local events and festivities • Museum by the College • Amphitheater within the Obsidian Keep which acts as playhouse and concert hall for large events • Each courtyard has a small stage designed for entertainment on busy market days Entertainment
- the Dionysus Lounge provides entertainment in many forms, including dancers, whores, and more. Education - near Arts • University • Library Living • Noble living - Obsidian Spire outer walls/residences - kind of like townhomes - there are VERY few nobles; they have no real ‘power’ they can just afford to live closer to the Voidwalker • Middle class - the Middle class lives in the townhouses and apartment-style homes closest to the walls of the Keep. • Lower class - the lower class lives closest to the outer walls of the Shadowed Citadel, organized around central courtyards where markets, food stalls, goods, and performances pop up randomly. • Farmers and agriculture - there are many pastures and fields outside of the walls of the Shadowed Citadel. Farmers often come into the citadel to sell their produce and meat to the citizens of the Shadowed Citadel. Markets • The Courtyards around the outer perimeter of the Shadowed Citadel provide food, market goods, and entertainment for the majority of the Shadowed Citadel’s residents. These sell produce, meats, and locally-made goods. They are open to people of all walks of life. • There is a market courtyard within the walls of the Obsidian Keep which is open to nobles and those of middle-class, but the goods are often those which are brought in from across Noctaris Territories as well as imported from Aurelith. Because of that, prices are generally higher and the goods are of higher quality. Typically only the Nobles and Middle Class shop here, though everyone is welcome. Docks • Warehouses • Slips for ships Shipping • Shipyard offices (one at each port) • Shipping operations in SC: ⁃ 5 legitimate ⁃ 2 illigitimate Council Members • Umbral Lords Guild: Near Library/University - they want close access to library/research materials • Nightblades: Close to the outer wall of the Obsidian Spire, near the heart of the city. • Crimson Accord: Outside the city walls, but Morgrim does have an ‘office’ in the city. He makes a point never to sleep within the city walls, always with his people. • Whispering Circle : This is a massive research library near a university; the circle lives below the library where the more ancient and powerful texts are - they are well-guarded from those who would destroy the knowledge or use it badly • Iron Syndicate: Office and Warehouse close to the Obsidian Keep’s armory Religion • Churches, holy locations? Many are multi-purpose with religious leaders dividing up the places of worship Warfare • Armory in the outer wall of the Obsidian Keep • Training Yard in the courtyard of the obsidian keep • Troop Housing above the armory in the outer wall of the obsidian keep

The Veil Council Noctaris is ruled by the Voidwalker, Lythraen, and the Veil Council, a secretive and enigmatic group of leaders who operate from the shadows. Unlike Aurelith’s Council of Archons, the Veil Council is not bound by tradition or divine right. Instead, its members are chosen through a combination of cunning, strength, and political maneuvering. The Council is made up of five factions, each representing a different aspect of Noctaris’ society. The Veil Council is driven by a desire to overthrow Aurelith’s dominance and establish Noctaris as an equal—or superior—power in Pranar. Their motivations are shaped by centuries of oppression and a burning need for revenge. The Veil Council convenes with Lythraen in the caverns beneath the Obsidian Spire, a fortress hidden deep within the heart of Noctaris. Their meetings are shrouded in secrecy, and their decisions are often ruthless and pragmatic
Headquarters • The Obsidian Spire
Members • Zorath • Morgrimm • Elthainn • Rev’ann • Fyodor
Goals/Motivations • To resist Aurelith • To gain independence from Aurelith’s oppression • To maintain prosperity for their interests despite Aurelith’s oppression • Liberation from Oppression: The Shadowborn have long been subjugated by Aurelith, forced to live in the shadows while the celestials bask in the light. The Veil Council seeks to break free from this oppression and claim their rightful place in the world • Revenge Against Aurelith: The Council harbors a deep-seated hatred for the celestials, whom they see as arrogant and tyrannical. They are determined to dismantle Aurelith’s power and expose the flaws in its so-called perfect society. • Survival and Self-Reliance: Noctaris is a harsh and unforgiving realm, and the Council is focused on ensuring the survival of its people. They are willing to make difficult choices, such as forging alliances with dark forces or using forbidden magics, to protect their realm", • Ambition and Power: The Veil Council is not without its own ambitions. Many of its members see the struggle against Aurelith as an opportunity to gain personal power and influence, both within Noctaris and across Panar", • A New World Order: The Council envisions a future where Noctaris is no longer the “dark counterpart” to Aurelith but a realm in its own right, with its own values and traditions. They believe that the balance of power must shift to create a more equitable world
Internal Tensions • The Umbral Lords and the Iron Syndicate frequently clash over the use of resources, with the former prioritizing magic and the latter favoring technology. • The Nightblades and the Crimson Accord have differing views on how to wage war against Aurelith, with the former advocating for stealth and subterfuge and the latter pushing for open conflict. • The Whispering Circle often finds itself at odds with the more pragmatic factions, as its members prioritize prophecy and spiritual guidance over immediate gains. • Elthainn is frequently rude/dismissive to Morgrimm (bc she’s an orc racist) and it gets on Zorath and Lythraen’s nerves
Affiliated Umbral Lords - Arcanist Guild led by Zorath ⁃ Masters of shadow magic and the occult, responsible for the realm’s arcane defenses, represented by Zorath Crimson Accord - led by Morgrimm ⁃ A coalition of warlords and rebel leaders who command Noctaris’ militias Iron Syndicate - led by Rev’ann ⁃ A powerful guild of merchants, blacksmiths, and engineers who control trade and technology Whispering Circle - Scholar’s guild; Fyodor is elected representative; they have no ‘leader’ ⁃ A group of scholars, historians, and prophets who guide the realm’s spiritual and cultural direction Nightblades - Assassin’s Guild led by Elthainn ⁃ An elite order of assassins and spies who handle covert operations and intelligence
Reputation • Most of the Shadowborn and population of Noctaris belong to one of the five member factions of the Veil Council. the Veil Council is largely transparent with their actions and decrees and they have the respect of almost all in Noctaris • The citizens of Aurelith believe the Veil Council to be evil, self-serving people who want to crush Aurelith and everyone in it. Good disinformation/propaganda campaign by Aurelith
The Council of Archons The Veil Council sees the Council of Archons as an antiquated panel of grandpas who only has power because they have money and resources

Atlas Xalvador - Public Biography
Atlas Xalvador, known as "The Iron Sentinel," serves as General of Noctaris' Military and Lythraen's second-in-command during the rebellion against Aurelith.
A 93-year-old Ouranii (half-elf, half-orc) standing 214cm tall with distinctive golden eyes and long brown dreadlocs, Xalvador bears the scars of Aurelith's banishment brands across his chest—marks that identify him as one who was branded a traitor by the regime he once served.
Originally a tribesman from the Ouranii villages, Xalvador joined Aurelith's military to protect his family and rose to the rank of General after being chosen for a ritual that granted him enhanced strength, speed, and intelligence. His fall from Aurelith's grace came when he was accused of treason, tortured, and left for dead—though he survived and eventually found his way to Noctaris.
Despite initial wariness from Noctaris citizens due to his Aurelith past, Xalvador earned the respect of the rebellion's leadership and soldiers through decades of service. A master strategist and legendary warrior who wields a massive infernal battleaxe, he plays a crucial role in key victories including the liberation of Frostpeak and the final assault on the Gilded Keep.
