File 1: Kuro Kazunari.

Kuro has short white hair accented by light-purple highlights and piercing blue eyes. He is a fairly tall, well-built young man with peach-colored skin. He has grown more muscular since becoming a Shinigami. In casual life, he wears slim-fitted clothing and hoodies, often switching between different shoes from his collection. In his spiritual form, he wears the standard Shinigami shihakushō with an added strap across his chest. Originally, the strap was a honey-gold belt for his Zanpakutō sheath, but after awakening his true Shinigami powers, it became a violet rosary-like strap shaped like a rope, spiraling with white lines.

Personality

As a teenager, Kuro is humble, patient, strong-willed, smart and thoughtful. He tries to be the better between his friend Ichigo, who is known for his stubborn and reckless attitude. He mostly has a laid-back, calm smile on his face. His kind, benevolent nature is noticed by many people, and if someone tries to fight him, he tries to talk them out of it rather then fighting first, but that doesn't mean he won't defend himself, and will kill if he needs to, even if doesn't like to. He likes to quip, tease and joke lightheartedly often, even sometimes in battle, and rarely gets embarrassed or shy. But anyone who hurts his friends or family to a intent will see another side of him, who is cold and unforgiving in some circumstances, even to the point killing Cesar Torrja countless times and reviving him to make him pay. In battle, Kuro is a extremely unpredictable and slightly pragmatic combatant like his teacher, his fast-paced thinking and creativity in a fight keeps his opponents on their toes. And if the situation calls for it he has no qualms in teaming up with his enemy, such as forming an alliance with Aizen during the final fight with Yhwach. Kuro's resolve or composure in battle can waver at times, which can impede his fighting prowess, state of thinking and goes into a state of depression and self-loathing when he loses a major battle or lets his friends down.

Equipment --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Substitute Shinigami Badge (代行証 死神代行, Daikōshō Shinigami Daikō): Given to Kuro by Ukitake before leaving Soul Society for the first time, the pendant signifies his position as a Substitute Shinigami and thereby remain active as a Shinigami in the Human World. It allows Kuro to separate his soul from his body to access his Shinigami form. It can detect the presence of Hollows, and has a protection making it invisible to normal Humans. It also works for communicating with Soul Society. When Ichigo lost his powers, all of the mentioned abilities became unavailable to him.[467] Kūgo Ginjō tells Kuro and Ichigo the true purpose of the badge is to observe and restrict the owner. It is a surveillance device for Soul Society and a device to absorb, store, analyze, and control the user's Reiatsu. Ōken Clothing: After training with the Royal Guard, Kuro dons special clothing made from the bones and hair of the Royal Guard members. They possess incredible defensive power able to withstand the friction that results from breaking through the 72 barriers between Soul Society and the Soul King Palace without any damage to it or the wearer; Yhwach notes that no Shinigami could hope to wear greater garb. These clothes are a white cloth, a midnight-blue-colored floral-patterned bandanna, and a black cloth around the top of Ichigo's head; large, black-outlined weights on either shoulder; a long, double-breasted white cloak; a black sash and a floral-patterned strip of fabric around his waist; and white pants. The white cloak and bandanna along with the black cloth he wore over the rest were destroyed when he gets rid of it in his fight against the Bambies.

Powers & Abilities

Natural Abilities Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Physically, Kuro's Human body is in top form, having been trained in martial arts since he was a small child, in a professional class. He has repeatedly shown great agility and coordination in his attacks. In addition to having powerful strikes, Kuro is proficient in counterattacks, takedowns, throws and body locks. He has repeatedly caught an opponent's weapon strikes with a single hand. He effortlessly defeats multiple bullies and gangsters on a regular basis, and is able to keep up with Soi-Fon and Yoruichi in melee combat. Combined with his speed, he effortlessly knocked out the entire stealth force corps. He keeps his skills fresh from constant bullies attack and training.

Enhanced Strength: Even while not in his Shinigami form, Kuro is deceptively strong, able to obliterate a Hollow with a single punch, and clash fists with Fullbringer Shishigawara.

Enhanced Speed & Reflexes: Even without Shunpo, Kuro is a very fast and agile fighter, keep up with Soi-Fon in a hand-to-hand fest. Kuro possesses great reflexes, dodging a strike with no wasted effort and immediately counterattacking. He can strike quickly, without warning, and in rapid succession. Even against faster opponents, he can watch their movements to better analyze and block otherwise fatal strikes. Even when struck by surprise by Tenjirō Kirinji, who is fast enough to outpace Suì-Fēng, Kuro's skin hardened subconsciously with Hierro and injured said attacker without anybody else noticing.

Enhanced Durability: While only a teenage Human, Kuro is a highly resilient young man, withstanding getting his limbs crushed from a large Hollow.

Advanced Growth Rate: One of Kuro's most astounding ability is his growth rate; he grasps the basic control of and effectively masters advanced techniques in days what take several years for even the most gifted Shinigami. Shortly after gaining Shinigami powers and with no training, he began learning advanced spiritual energy sensing techniques by sheer instinct. While it takes most Shinigami at least 10 years to achieve Bankai, he did so in two days (albeit through Urahara's invention, which was intended for three days). At the same time, he also gained considerable skill and experience in Shunpo while training with Yoruichi. In addition, Ichigo continued to improve his Hollow powers. He increased the time he could maintain his mask from only 40 minutes to the point of being able to fight Gin with it no drawbacks or time limit. With his Hollow mask being able to stay on permanently, only until he was hit by Aizen's spiritual pressure was it broke. Kuro later went on to achieve Resurreccion and combined it with his full-powered Bankai. After the fullbring incident, Kuro went to learn Shunko and used it's ability to defeat Asahiro despite not testing it. From the onset of the Quincy Blood War, his latent abilities and wildcard nature in battle made the Wandenreich recognize him as one of the 6 Special War Powers, and one of the most dangerous ones after Kenpachi Zaraki's defeat. To which, only a week of training with the Royal Guard tremendously increased his power as he went from needing his Bankai to combat a single Sternritter's Vollständig to only using his Shikai to calmly over power four Sternritter also using their respective Vollständig. Likewise, while effortlessly overpowered by Yhwach during their first fight, even with his Bankai and Resurreccion fusion, during the second fight, Kuro decisively outmaneuvered and overpowered the Quincy King with just his Shikai alongside Ichigo (albeit Yhwach didn't rely on The Almighty). Also in this short time, he gained a new Hollow form that he could fully control, and with it, he ingeniously uses a unique blend of techniques powerful enough to wound even a Soul King-empowered Yhwach.

Genius Intellect: With his impressive intelligence, Kuro is analytical, perceptive, and deductive. In his high school, Kuro grades are almost always near the top, despite his work as a Substitute Shinigami. Aside from that, Kuro can determine the pattern of his opponent's battle methods and form a proper counter-strategy to defeat his opponent's attacks, using creative combinations and attacks from the top of his head to surprise his opponents. And he isn't afraid to make risky gambles in order to win a battle, as such in his battle against Asahiro. His intelligence helped in the creation of the Hierro Armor and also the Hollow pills Urahara made, thanks to the theory he able to come up with. Kuro was even able to somehow make a undead Rukia to his army without actually killing her.

Immeasurable Spiritual Power: Kuro has been noted repeatedly to have exceptionally vast levels of spiritual energy, well-beyond most other Shinigami. It is very heavy. Even worn-out, he can continue fighting effectively with repeated usage of his summons and skills while in Bankai. Even before his Resurreccion training, his spiritual energy's strength let him sense Aizen's increased Reiatsu as a result of his Second Fusion with the Hōgyoku from a considerable distance away while fighting Gin, while all former Captains fighting Aizen directly could not. His Reiatsu is light blue-purple in color. His training in the Royal Palace also proved his power as great enough to be a new Soul King, though it was high unlikely for him more then Ichigo.

Masterful Reiatsu Control: Over time, he learned to harden his spiritual energy and enhance the strength of his attacks, or use it as a barrier to reduce the impact of attacks on him, if not negating them completely. He can also channel his spiritual power, send message from the world of living to Hueco Mundo with Roka's thread. Ultimately, it became so powerful that it automatically becomes visible when Kuro is preparing to battle.

Spiritual Awareness: Since he was a child, Kuro has had an innate ability to clearly see spiritual beings and sense their presence. After becoming a Shinigami, his senses have continued to improve with time, learning various advanced sensing techniques, such as using a spirit ribbon to find Yūichi Shibata (in bird form). Even from a considerable distance, he can detect the condition of a being with spiritual power. During his intense fight against Soi-Fon, he clearly sensed and recognized Ichigo's energy signature despite the considerable distance between them.

Shinigami Powers & Abilities Master Swordsman and Scythe Play: While fighting in his Shinigami form, Kuro relies mainly on scythe play. Aside from his initial training with Urahara, he is essentially on a "learn as you go" training regimen; thusly, his skill has developed by fighting and formal instruction, becoming even more capable with every fight. His overall skill allows him to fight evenly against sword masters of Soi-Fon and Unohana's caliber. Kuro is ambidextrous, proficiently wielding Ankou in either hand. Since attaining the true form of Ankou, he has displayed great skill at wielding both blade and sword forms of it, switching between them to disorient his opponents and adapt on the fly.

Hakuda Master: Kuro is very proficient in Hakuda, due to already knowing how to fight unarmed. His skills are great enough to force Yoruichi to fight seriously during their regular sparring sessions and put a Master Hakuda user like Soi-Fon on the defensive. Kuro is capable of using Shunko. He was able to effortlessly outduel Cesar in melee, landing a powerful Ikkotsu on the arrancar. Kuro can also combine his Hakuda with his Zanjutsu seamlessly.

Shunpo Master: Though not particularly versed in its various techniques, Kuro is proficient enough in the general usage of Shunpo to keep up with and even surprise high-level and fast opponents with his speed. Soifon, one of the most proficient Shunpo users in Soul Society, complimented Kuro's growing mastery of the technique. Since his training in the Soul King Palace, Kuro has refined his skill in Shunpo and Sonido, allowing him to speed down the massive gap between the Palace and the Seireitei that would normally take a week to descend in just two hours and move so fast and grab Robert's face while simultaneously bypassing Robert's perception with raw speed even as the sternritter was at full power. When battling Yhwach, whom he originally only just managed to keep up with using the speed of his original Bankai and Resurreccion fusion, for the second time, Kuro repeatedly outmaneuvered Yhwach with just his natural speed.

Immense Endurance: When in Shinigami form, Kuro is incredibly resilient; he can continue fighting effectively after receiving many injuries, and can survive attacks which would easily kill normal humans and even most Shinigami. He withstood a Hadō #90: Kuro Hitsugi from Aizen and attacks from Unohana. Immense Durability: Kuro's durability is also greatly increased in his Shinigami form. During his last fight with Azashiro, he withstood a great deal of severe and fatal slashes, and kept fighting. Tenjirō Kirinji, a member of the Royal Guard, was amazed at Ichigo's ability to endure the unique healing properties of his White Skeleton Pond and Blood Hell Pond for so long after fully healing without rotting. After his training in the Soul King Palace, his durability has increased to the point where he can withstand a direct attack from Soul King Yhwach and continue to fight normally, something the Quincy King commended him for.

Zanpakuto

Ankou (安寇, “Peaceful Repose”) . Shikai: After his Bankai was shattered by Yhwach, Kuro realizes he never possessed a true Zanpakuto, but one formed from the fusion of his Shinigami and Hollow powers. Later, Ōetsu Nimaiya reforges Ankou using an actual Asauchi. Kuro reconciles his feelings about his powers and gains true access to his real Zanpakuto. His true Zanpakuto manifests as a large white blade shaped like a Khyber knife, with the grip at the base of the blade and a red handle extending backward roughly the width and length of Kuro's forearm. After gaining his new Zanpakuto, Kuro wraps the sword in cloth, and now carries it on his back.

Shikai Special Ablility: With gaining a new Zanpakuto, it mostly used for Melee combat. But Kuro's blade possesses the ability to change it's form into a Scythe. It also has two more special abilities

Reishi Absorption: Kuro can absorbs ambient reishi from the atmosphere or his opponents at an accelerated rate in a similar way to Quincies, despite not being one himself, augmenting his attacks. Using this ability without his Zanpakutō is slightly diminished.

Undead Summons: Shikai allows Kuro to summon anyone that he's killed or consumed the soul of. When killed, Kuro is capable of replicating the body of the person killed, allowing him to summon a clone of them with their exact abilities and skills. However, with this method they do not have a will of their own. However consuming the soul of his victim allows the same benefits while keeping their personality and freewill intact.

Bankai: Shi no Tenshi Azuraeru (死の天使アズラエル, meaning "Angel of Death Azrael"): Upon activation, Ankou's blade fragments, with the pieces dissolving into pure reishi that envelops Kuro's arm. The blade reconstructs itself into a singular, formidable weapon. In its sword mode, it becomes a black, spine-like structure connected by an organic substance to two curved blades, forming one long, wrapping weapon. A large, glowing black gem with a golden pupil is positioned at the top of the structure. Like its Shikai form, Shi no Tenshi Azuraeru can transform into a scythe.

Immortality: Shi no Tenshi Azuraeru grants Kuro the ability to immortality, allowing him to resurrect himself as much as he wants as long as he has the amount of spiritual energy needed to make it happen.

Hollow Powers & Abilities

Merged Hollow Form: After Kuro learned the truth about the source of his Shinigami powers and had his Zanpakutō reforged, his Hollow and Quincy powers came into balance with one another; however when Kuro, Ankou and inner Hollow combine their powers together in Harmony, it results in a powerful transformation. This form causes both sides of his face and neck to resemble the form his inner Hollow took on while fighting Starrk, Harribel, and her Fracción, as well as his former Hollowfication. His eyes invert in color, with a black sclera and yellow iris. He has blue marks running down his face and along his neck, and he gains long, curved upward-pointing horns on each side of his head. While in this form, the blade of Ankou becomes Black.

Power Augmentation: As with his Hollow mask, Kuro's merged Hollow form drastically increases his combat capabilities and overall power. Enhanced Speed: While in this form, Kuro's speed is noticeably enhanced; after entering it behind the protection of Orihime's Santen Kesshun, Kuro near-instantaneously moved in front of the barrier and a considerable distance away from Orihime, who was unable to fathom how quickly he and Ichigo had gotten there. Shortly afterward, when Yhwach formed his Reishi broadsword in preparation for close-range combat, Kuro and Ichigo moved so fast that Yhwach had to drop it and catch their blades before he could even react.

Enhanced Strength: While battling Yhwach in this form, Kuro not only out speeds Yhwach but destroyed a large chunk of the tower they were fighting in with the force of his subsequent slashes.

Enhanced Spiritual Power: Upon exerting his Reiatsu, Kuro alongside Ichigo leveled the entirety of Silbern at the top of Wahrwelt, leading Yhwach himself to call their power "magnificent".

Cero (虚閃セロ, Sero; Spanish for "Zero", Japanese for "Hollow Flash"; Viz "Doom Blast"): Kuro is capable of firing a blue Cero from the palm of his hand or fist, even at the same time an. He can fire it at point-blank range to increase its lethality, to the point that he incinerates Granz completely. Enhanced Hierro (鋼皮イエロ, Iero; Spanish for "Iron", Japanese for "Steel Skin";Viz "Iron Skin"): Kuro's Hierro is strong enough to block Harribel's and Unohana's blades from piercing him fully, later showing the density of his skin by being able to get hit by Tenjirō and receive no damage, but hurting him instead.

Cero Reversion - A cero unique to Kuro. Using the opponent's Spiritual Energy as the catalyst, Kuro can fire a cero by direct contact. This leaves Kuro in a vulnerable position, however, meaning that this attack is most effective when Kuro is in Bankai. This attack is most effective against opponents with high spiritual energies, and deeply wounded Aizen in butterfly state. It is light blue in color.

Gran Rey Cero: Cutting his hand open to combine his blood with a Cero, Kuro can charge a purple "Gran Rey Cero".

Resurreccion: Its release command is "Pass away, Thanatos". Thanatos unleashes a black and blue burst of spiritual energy. In his released state, Kuro's hair grows longer with a single blue curved horn on the side of is head, and has a high black scarf around his mouth. His shihakusho changes to a sleek, long black coat with two long coattails and light blue lining, with a blue undershirt that has black stylized belt in a 'v' shape around his waist, and two straps on the upper back of the coat flows behind him. He wears slim-fitted pants and dress shoes with blue straps.
