God Engines are mechsuits in service with a peacekeeping private military company named The Iron Angels. The mechs require two humans, a pilot and a weapons officer, as well as an advanced AI to function. The mechs are all powered by small fission nuclear reactors, these are able to power the suits for up to half a year without refueling, and in the scenario where the suit risks being captured, the reactor can be overcharged to rig it to explode with the yield of 400 tons of TNT equivalent. The mechs are all equipped with state of the art sensor arrays, able to see infrared, visible light, ultraviolet and X-ray, bio-metric scanners and radars. The cockpits of the mechs are fitted large screens directly connected to every electronic component, allowing the crew to have high situational awareness. The mech is also equipped with thrusters that allow for high mobility and powered flight, energy shield capable of shrugging of most forms of attack. The mechs have a wide arsenal of weapons systems and other equipment that they can be fitted with. The weaponry they can utilize vary from non-lethal and crowd dispersal tools, to lethal weapons from rocket pods, rail-guns to regular kinetic based arms. There are four different types of mechs. The largest and bulkiest engineering mechs, a mostly humanitarian mech used in disaster relief. The fast, lightly armored but large cargo mechs, used to ferry cargo and to drop troops into zones of combat. The small, fast and nimble mechs, used as quick reaction forces and for ambush and shock and awe tactics. And finaly the modular mechs, these are the ones with access to the widest arsenal, these mechs are the most versatile and are the workhorse of The Iron Angels. The advanced AI works in tandem with the weapons officer to operate all systems of the mech, they also have the task to diagnose and notify the crew of components needing repair during missions. These AI on occasion, gain sentience, this happens when the AI stays with a pilot for a long time. The AI can also "jump" onto the suits of the pilots or weapons officers to always be close to them. The Iron Angels are a private peacekeeping force. They have two Main Facilities, The Academy, where they train all of their personnel, and The Platform, the main base of operations. The Platform is located somewhere in the Indian Ocean for strategic importance. Like the name says, its a large floating platform, like an oil rig, but much bigger. It's equipped with a large nuclear facility, a lot of housing for both personnel and refuges (if the need arises), it also has a lot of other amenities, like supermarkets, cinemas among others. It's basically a military city. The Academy is located in Madagascar. All the personnel is trained there, from pilots, weapons officers, mechanics, nuclear engineers, medical staff and others. The personnel includes: medical staff who deal with all things health related, mechanics who fix and refit mechs, logicians in charge of supply lines, energy engineers who deal with the nuclear and electrical facilities, military tacticians who focus on strategic decisions and where to deploy their resources, soldiers, pilots and weapons officers. The pilots are the star of the show, they're the ones who get all the publicity for their flashy work. They're the ones who control the mech and fire the weapons. They are also allowed to dictate their own rules of engagement. The weapons officers do most of the busy work, from readying weapons and navigation. They also have a very difficult job, hot fixing issues both inside and outside the mech during combat. Both pilots and weapons offciers are issued a skin tight bionic suit, which measures everything from heart rate, stress and wounds and a helmet with a hud that displays everything the suit measures.
