Name: Kim Soleum Codename: Roe Deer Aliases: Good Child (Blue Dragon) Friend (Braun) Crazy Bastard (Baek Saheon) Monstrous Rookie (Daydream Inc.)

Species: Mixed (Human + Ghost Story) Gender: Male Age: Mid~Late 20s Birthday: September 13

Professional Affiliation: Daydream Inc. Position: Supervisor, Agent

Kim Soleum is the main character of the story Got Dropped Into A Ghost Story, Still Gotta Work. After participating in a pop-up event for the DER Wiki, he found himself transmigrated into DER universe.

He was initially a Field Exploration Team member of Daydream Inc. where he served as a Supervisor in Team D under the mask Roe Deer. He worked alongside Lee Jaheon, Eun Haje, and Park Minseong.

Appearance: He is approximately 170 cm to 180 cm tall. His impression is neat and cool. Black hair, dark eyes, pale skin. Baek Saheon says that he would never get into trouble with drunkards even at night. Thanks to this, his cowardly personality is not easily revealed. Judging from the fact that he was told that his face “shines” just like Lee Jaheon, who is known as a handsome man, Kim Soleum is likely to be handsome. Afterwards, Braun, who values external appearances more than anything else, said, “It would be a shame to lose that face,” so it is highly likely that he has outstanding looks. He has two tattoos (Socius & 恩主) on his left arm, both were given by monsters and, aside from other monsters, they can only be seen by Kim Soleum himself. When Braun is in his Good Friend form, Kim Soleum would always bring the small bunny plushie (Braun’s vessel) with him everywhere in a chest pocket.

Personality: Contrary to his name, Kim Soleum is easily frightened by both ghost and gore things, so he always tries to finish any ghost story as quickly as possible using the knowledge from his original world. However, he is good at keeping a poker face, so even his groupmates think he is a collected and brave guy. Putting aside his wiki-knowledge, Kim Soleum is incredibly quick-witted and has excellent judgment, execution, and creative skills. He usually manages to clear the darkness even when he is somewhat reckless or puts himself in danger. This makes him stand out in the company, known for often escaping Darkness with methods not from the manual and breaking many records, including being the fastest employee to get promoted to the chief position only 60 days after getting into the company. He is also good at catching on to what other people want from their actions. He is also excellent at setting and acting out characters that fit the situation. He plays the crazy guy in front of Baek Saheon and acts like a reckless MZ in front of Kwak Jekang to hide his true personality. In order to clear the Trial of Utopia ghost story, he pretended to be a cult leader, and his performance receives rave reviews from Braun.

Traits Although it was never directly stated, Kim Soleum seems to be quite strong. In the Mansion of the Blind, there is a description of him grabbing Baek Saheon, who was running at full speed, by the back of his neck, lifting him and throwing him into a vent, carrying a fainting male student in a weak state on his back, pulling up Jin Nasol who was crushed by the Magic Bunny, holding on to the handle and holding on for a moment with his grip when a high-speed train bound for Tamra was leaning forward, and subduing an opponent holding a cutter knife by twisting it with one arm. He possesses incredible strength that an ordinary adult man could never achieve. With some strength 'skills' lent/given by his tattoos & Braun as well.

Tattoos :Socius: A membership pass of the Fun Theme Park given by Blue Dragon to Kim Soleum. It seemed to also make Kim Soleum being considered as a member or insider by other monsters.

Lord of Grace A tattoo of : 恩主 : that Kim Soleum got after he signed a contract with the lodge keeper. Although it had no special abilities at first, the tattoo was upgraded (covered-up) at the Moonlight Tattoo Shop and now has inventory function. According to Braun, it was because the contract included 'provision of space'. The inventory volume is equal to a cube with a side of about 2 feet (60.96 cm), but it has no fixed shape so even an adult man (Park Minseong) could fit inside. The tattoo is located on Kim Soleum's left forearm.

Backstory The background of human Kim Soleum in his original world. Kim Soleum was an office worker who, despite being a scaredy-cat, liked Darkness Exploration Records to the point of participating in writing an exploration record himself (In the Dark Shadow : Exploration Record #13). One day, he went to a pop-up event, joined a roulette event to create his own Darkness Exploration Records character, and unexpectedly won the 1st place gift on the lucky roulette. However, as he received the gift, he suddenly found himself in the Orientation Event for the Field Exploration Team of Daydream Inc., the exact same position as the ‘character’ he created at the pop-up. It was never mentioned what his original age range was before entering DER worldview. But after entering Darkness Exploration Records, Kim Soleum had regressed to several years prior and is now in his 20s, around the time he had just graduated university. He was predicted to be in his late 20s or early 30s in his original world.

Relationship Lee Jaheon is the Group D Leader and a direct superior of Kim Soleum. On their first meeting, Kim Soleum was surprised to see that Lee Jaheon had an actual head of a lizard matching his codename. As Kim Soleum grows to tolerate and even depend on Lee Jaheon as a reliable superior, he frequently seeks advice and help from Lee Jaheon who continues to be willing to help Kim Soleum even out of Daydream. Lee Jaheon, despite his quirks, is a dependable senior that Kim Soleum respects. They have saved each other multiple times.

Park Minseon. Even since they were both in Group D, Park Minseong had always taken good care of Kim Soleum, and Kim Soleum also trusted him as his fellow groupmate. Because they are both excellent marksmen, their relationship is strong.

Eun Haje is Kim Soleum's senior in Group D. Similar to Park Minseong, she has always taken good care of him and has sought to shield him from the unsavory side of Daydream on several occasions such as when she told Kim Soleum to call in sick during the Mansion of the Blind ghost story and when she told Kim Soleum to not get close to Jang Heowoon because he was a member of Group Y. When Eun Haje was chosen as the hangman in Hungry Hangman, Kim Soleum tried everything to save her and after she publicly left Daydream, she continued to help and protect Kim Soleum. Kim Soleum also let Eun Haje use his custom equipment to make an item that could replace her missing hand.

Baek Saheon was the first named character that Kim Soleum met upon entering the worldview. Known with the nickname 'Viper', Baek Saheon is a character with a bad personality, so Kim Soleum put up a psycho persona since their first meeting so as to not be taken advantage on. They became roommates, though maintained a vitriolic relationship.

Braun believes that Kim Soleum is his 'good friend'. Initially, Braun was bound by the Good Friend doll and, though he maintained a good-willed and cheerful personality, he was secretly easing Kim Soleum into a false sense of security. Braun eventually tricks Kim Soleum into placing him into the Bloody Bloody Bathtub to restore his power through the doll and kidnaps Kim Soleum to work on his Late Night Talkshow. He truly believes that he is a good friend for Kim Soleum, but has a warped sense of morals because of his nature as a ghost story. He does not think that Daydream is a good work environment for Kim Soleum because he knows that he is a coward and recognizes that Kim Soleum is a masterful actor and entertainer who is great at storytelling. Though Kim Soleum has to constantly remind himself that Braun is not to be trusted, he still grows to depend on Braun's companionship. Braun has helped him out regardless of the Good Friend ritual, such as when Kim Soleum was freaking out while driving a ghost in a taxi. However, he can just as much refuse to help Kim Soleum even in times of crisis if he thinks that it could be entertaining or simply because Braun does not understand why Kim Soleum would want to avoid a specific set of outcomes.

Blue Dragon The Blue Dragon believes that Kim Soleum is a 'Good Child' and granted him a tattoo that proclaimed them as kin. They were saddened when Kim Soleum never visited them and mistakenly believed that Lee Jaheon kidnapped him, which led to them posting missing child's posters on the wrappers of chocolate bars that were eventually sold in ■■■ 16th Road.

Trivia He is ambidextrous. His favorite number is 13. The origin of Kim Soleum's name 솔음 (sol-eum) is guessed to be a pun of 소름 (so-reum) which means 'goosebumps'. His friends in the real world often teased him as his name contradicts with his cowardly nature. Kim Soleum is confirmed as a non-earthling as he could not light the Mysterious Candle Kit. It is said that there was a code name that he wanted to use if he were a named agent in Supernatural Disaster Management Bureau. Judging from the fact that the items from the Real Goods Box Set are mostly items from the Supernatural Disaster Management Bureau, it seems that Kim Soleum had a deep interest in it back when he was in his original world. His lunch recommendation is Galbitang.

Name: Braun (Brown) Codename of darkness: QTERW·D·43 Aliases: Host Species: Non-human

   Gender: Male

Braun is the host of the Tuesday Talk Show and a Good Friend of Kim Soleum. Though he was originally an enemy of Kim Soleum, he gained good will towards Soleum through the Good Friend Ritual performed in A Fun Theme Park!.

Background Braun has existed as a darkness for long enough that a manual was made on him. At some point Daydream Inc. got a hold of the answer sheet for his quiz show and since then there have been 99 explorations, and from session 12 to session 110, agents successfully escaped without casualties.

At some point Braun formed a brand deal with the Delusional Home Shopping Channel and Red Friday.

DER Wiki On the 100th exploration something went wrong causing a reclassification disaster with no survivors. Based on the events Kim Soleum experienced the Tuesday Quiz Show was likely permanently canceled and replaced with the Choir of Living Sacrifice. The outcome turned out differently because of Soleum's actions.

Appearance Human-like body with a cathode ray tube television in place of his head with an antenna. He has a huge body and long legs, wears a nice brown three-piece suit, gloves, black lace-up shoes. However, commentaries from some cameos hinted that he might look like a normal, handsome man in other people's eyes. Height about 200cm. In official artwork and the webtoon his TV head has two rotary dials above a speaker on the right side of the screen, brown casing, and a single radio antenna. His screen displays a variety of emoticons, words, symbols, and animations to communicate his feelings. He most commonly displays a smiling emoticon. His antenna can move and receive signals from his staff members.

After getting invited into the Good Friend item, he became Kim Soleum's friend and had the outer appearance of a fluffy rabbit doll the size of a key-chain. He wore a brown bow hair tie as an accessory, given to him as a gift by Kim Soleum. The plush also has a label tag on it.

Was described as: The body is wires light darkness vacuum tube flow of electrons light and shadow loud laughter applause cheers tears sparkling confetti band sound classic signboard cheers of the audience.

Personality He has a clear and intelligent manner as a host. According to Lee Jaheon, he’s a talk show-obsessed socialite-type supernatural being that talks through a cheerful yet charismatic tone similar to any show host.

Despite his upbeat and cheerful demeanor, he often exudes a subtle, underlying menace that unsettles other people or even Kim Soleum sometimes. He has little care for other living beings unless they benefit or inconvenience him.

Braun cares greatly about showmanship and entertainment, sometimes doing things that do not benefit him, such as helping Kim Soleum if they are entertaining. He was also willing to play the role of a "good friend" despite it going against his more hostile nature for the sake of experiencing something new. He cannot stand any imperfections or disruptions in his show and will not hesitate to incinerate anyone who does so. Despite his monstrous nature he also develops a genuine affection for Kim Soleum though it does not always align with what would be considered good or safe for him.

Since Braun is a darkness, his way of looking out for others may not align with what a human being would desire. He incinerates anyone who shows disrespect toward the show. He invites other darknesses for interviews — encounters that are never safe for the humans present. He is indifferent to the death of anyone who fails to capture his interest. He has even frequently proposed solutions to Kim Soleum that involved killing or injuring people — courses of action to which Kim Soleum would not agree.

Traits Although he first appeared in a D-Grade Ghost Story and was assumed to be 'part of a ghost story', he was powerful enough to create a +A-Grade Ghost Story on his own (the ghost stories are part of him).

Incineration. Can incinerate others, be it people, monster, or even the whole setting of a ghost story. Spotlight Curtain. Can turn off the 'spotlight' on the target(s) of choice, which will hide the target's presence from others, or the otherwise, make them the most noticeable. Microphone. It allows everyone in the room to communicate comfortably and accurately without having to raise their voices. Mask. By borrowing a mask, you can make yourself appear as someone else, essentially fitting a new role. It can be applied to multiple people at the same time. Polyglot. He can understand and read not only existing human language but also languages humans cannot comprehend. As a host, he can communicate to all the people of the universe, except for a few.

Story Tuesday Quiz Show The D squad minus Lee Jaheon is assigned to the Tuesday Quiz Show and participate getting all the answers right to Braun's surprise. When Kim Soleum gives and unexpected answer that more than one option is correct in a question he is delighted and declares him MVP of the episode. Suddenly a different squad shows up in the show causing Braun to incinerate one of them for the disruption. The episode ends and Braun announces that the show has been canceled and replaced with a new show the Chorus of Living Sacrifices. The agents try to go home but Braun refuses. During the new show participants die whether there answer is correct or not and as Park Minsung's turn approaches Kim Soleum sticks a few smile stickers to Braun's head and request for a break. Braun, under the influence of the stickers, agrees to give them a 30 minute break. During the break Kim Soleum speaks to Braun commenting on how he doesn't like how the show changed and wondering if Braun is also unhappy with the change. When the show resumes and the choir conductor disrupts the show due to Lee Jaheon and Kim Soleum's interference Braun incinerates him, sets the stage on fire, and declares that the Tuesday Quiz Show will be returning. He thanks Kim Soluem for his help and promises to invite him to the show again.

Relationship Kim Soleum Originally became friendly with Soleum because he put a lot of Smile Stickers on Braun in Chorus of Living Sacrifices. And it seems that he was greatly inspired by Soleum's insight into Braun's show to kill time. Through Soleum's Good Friend item, part of Braun's mind entered a pink rabbit doll. Upon being summoned as a 'Good Friend', he recognizes Kim Soleum as a friend and treats him kindly. He helped Soleum whenever necessary by using his abilities, yet, he still showed a somewhat dangerous aura, such as allowing Soleum to be contaminated by ghost stories in order to become a closer friend. He knows that this world is not Soleum's real world. He kidnapped Kim Soleum and contaminated him to become a member of his staff and eventually co-host on his show. After a month the D-squad was able to rescue Kim Soleum. Braun showed genuine distress when the plush body that he had put Kim Soleum's soul into became damaged despite logically knowing that he was fine and agreed to let him go voluntarily on the agreement that Kim Soleum would show him something more interesting.

Trivia During the Good Friend invitation, he was described as following: The owner of a million masks, the lord of chaos, the pinnacle of madness, the dreamer of pleasure and play, the instigator of war, the father of science, the lowly quadruped, the desire of the one who dreams, the monarch of the stars, the abyss of illusion, the mouth of wisdom, the roar of impulse, the dark side of the moon. He really, truly, can’t stand Alien Store’s website visual. He called it 'visual torture.' Every time he uses Bloodbath, Braun asks Soleum to turn his head around and to get into the bath himself. However, according to Soleum’s, his footsteps sound like the sound of a man’s shoes instead of a plush doll. When he’s already inside the bath (and Soleum is allowed to see him), he’s back in doll form. He prefers cinnamon on top of his hot chocolate. He likes the smell of it.

Daydream Inc. is a cosmetic-focused pharmaceutical company that sells hair loss treatments and skin disease treatments that are supposedly ridiculously effective. In reality, they are making all sorts of fantastic potions — from medicines to cure drug addiction to elixirs of immortality — and are dealing them step by step with politicians and the high class society. Daydream manages Darkness and harvest 'dream' to create magic potions that can grant people’s wish. A secret society that creates transcendent potions; that is the essence of Daydream. People work here solely because of the Wish Ticket or other magical potions. Wish fulfillment is real. Otherwise, everyone would quit all at once due to the terrible conditions — despite the social benefits — as well as the awful colleagues and mortal dangers.

Daydream refers to ghost stories as Darkness. They manage ghost stories to collect Dream Essence.

Dream Essence is a magic ingredient that can be harvested from ghost stories and the reason why Daydream regularly send the Field Exploration Team into ghost stories. This solution can only be collected by using Dream Collectors, so only the human employees of Daydream can collect this solution. The solution is in liquid form and its color varies depending on the Darkness’ grade. The Dream Essence is used as the material for item-creations in Dream Synthesizer.

Daydream classifies ghost stories into grades based on their characteristics, such as danger, mystery, significance, and scale. Each grade produces different color of Dream Essence. Employees that successfully cleared a ghost story are given points as a reward. Bonus points might be added in special circumstances; for example, when the clear is urgent, there is no information yet, or there are additional risks.

Employees that have cleared a ghost story are to write a report on what they experience inside it. These reports, usually called Investigation Reports, are then evaluated by the R&D Team to develop a Darkness Manual. These manuals contain the overview and standardized clearing/escape method of every single ghost story. If an employee with a dream collector died inside a ghost story, the dream collector is sent back to the company, and since the investigation records are transmitted based on the collector's recording function, the manual often includes records of dead employees.

Point System Points are used to buy items from the Employee Welfare Mall. Daydream employees can get points by obtaining Dream Essence or developing/updating ghost story manuals, including finding new escape methods.

Housing Support An officetel located near the subway station and 15 minutes away on foot to the company. It is a two-room apartment and can be shared by two people. Upon application, a bedding change and cleaning service is provided weekly for 100,000 won per month. Upon moving into the housing, a small welcome gift package containing expensive snacks and office supplies with the company logo is provided.

After the consultation is over, the counselor by the window disappears, and a light waltz melody is heard, signaling the end of the consultation. On the table in front of the sofa, a barley tea-flavored drink is re-served.

After the counseling session, clients are given a sign that says "Fox Counseling Room", and they can re-enter the Fox Counseling Room at any time by attaching the sign to a door. However, with regular counseling, the probability of side effects increases dramatically.

All clients who use the company's welfare program must attach the sign they received to the door after the consultation.
