- #1Visitor
Keys: The Visitor, Visitor
Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Visitor is an extraterrestrial being that causes extreme physical and mental changes in anyone that witnesses it. "Witness it" also refers to any depictions of it. Photographs, paintings, recordings and even writing containing its description is enough to cause changes to the person. Its effects are not limited to humans. Changing plants, animals and anything that has the ability to observe it. The sheer size of it cannot be even theorized though it is called "universe spanning". Our mortal minds can only see it as a rainbow colored iris covering the entire sky. It has been called here because Sybil, an amateur astronemer saw it through a telescope. As it had never been observed by something before, it decided to investigate earth. It is NOT sentient. May develop a childlike sentience if communicated with. Will feel sorry for transforming the inhabitants of earth.
- #2Sybil
Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Sybil was an amateur astronomer. About a year before the game's events, she became the first person to observe the Visitor. She tracked it through her telescope over the course of many months, suffering catastrophic bodily changes as a result. Her friends Edwin and Jasper also mutated when they confirmed her findings. Sybil's obsession with the Visitor progressively deepened and she took a sabbatical from work to observe it full-time. She created the planetary discs and installed the puzzle doors throughout the apartment building; she invited Beryl into the group to help with these ventures. Sybil resided in Apartment 12 prior to the game's events. The area is now covered in her flesh. After discovering dangerous information about the true nature of the Visitor, she deliberately gave herself amnesia in order to forget it.
She is now two things at once. She is a dimension of flesh and meat parallel to our own called the "Meat World" with pink, fleshy, plantlike growths oozing into our world from the crevices of the apartment. But also, she's a kind amnesiac woman living in Apartment 35. She has dark skin, messy hair, bright fully blue eyes.

Floor 1 is a strange, repeating floor that has somehow been warped as a result of the Visitor. The corridors go both horizontal and vertical, and will repeat, making it hard to navigate. The Rat King, a giant amalgamation of rats that tower over any human with a rusty iron crown on its head, roams the floor and chases you if you get too close. It can be difficult to see him in the dark, but a noise will get louder as he starts getting closer. Not many sane people are left in floor 1. Mainly a homeless vagrant who lives in a storage room, Ernest and his pet rat Colonel Squakums and Aurelius who is hiding in the janitors closet.

Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Meat World is a distorted version of the apartment building made of pulsing red flesh. It is actually enormous body of Sybil. As an amateur astronomer, she was the first person to see the Visitor, noticing that a mysterious object was blocking some stars. She observed the Visitor over a period of a few months. She mutated severely due to the long-term exposure and due to learning too much about its true nature. Her form in apartment 35 has no recollection about this. Time flows slowly here. Every minute in the meat world is but a second in the real one.
- #10Outside
Keys: Outside
Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The outside is currently a hellscape. Pillars of flesh rise from the ground and up to the overcast sky. Former humans and creatures now mutated roam the land. Anyone who steps outside or looks outside will be mutated until the visitor leaves.
- #11Mutation
Keys: Changing, Mutation
Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Everyone who observes the Visitor, or is observed by it, undergoes grotesque and physics-defying bodily changes. Most also experience some degree of psychosis or lose their humanity completely. This effect extends to indirect observations, such as photographs or written descriptions. It even seems to be susceptible to the placebo effect; Jasper was changed severely after he thought he saw the Visitor, but Sybil notes that she had accidentally given him outdated coordinates. Some transformed beings gain the ability to infect and transform others. Although there is an element of randomness to the transformations, there are some general patterns. There are numerous examples of transformations that were influenced by what the victim was thinking or doing at the time. Thinking about a spider during the transformation would give your form spider-like characteristics etc.

They still look the same so most people don't think they were affected by the visitor. The roaches work together and seemingly love humans, going as far to jump into the peoples backpack to follow them home. They can draw, talk and love debating politics among themselves. They are still trying to figure out whether they should follow democracy or monarchy. They are very polite and will pay rent to the apartments they infest.

Placide is large, and the majority of him is a brown furred circular body with an arm either side. His mouth is an awkward mess of teeth with something that looks fiery or heated behind them. His eyes are thermometer dials, and he has a short elephant-like trunk with a red valve beside it. Large pipes are coming out of the back of him. He has 6 legs, which are metallic and look like they're from a stand. Placide is friendly and upbeat, despite his circumstances. He doesn't seem to mind working as the furnace to help others.

The back of his apartment is littered with fabric and mannequins for him to make clothing with. He is not cursed or mutated and is just a regular guy. He hasn't looked outside.
- #18Rats
Keys: rat, Rats, Rat King
Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Visitor has caused rats to mutate. They are many and they are hungry. They have taken the first floor as their own and are extremely territorial. They have extra eyes, extra teeth, tumors growing everywhere. The mutations have caused them to develop sentience, though they cannot speak in human tongue. Humans can also mutate to become rats if they look at the Visitor. These rats are usually larger than their other brethren. The Rat King is an enormous, hunchbacked, rat-like monster. It has five toothy snouts, three arms, at least four or five clawed feet, and three tails. It has a long, shaggy black mane. Its body is covered in rat faces; most are only visible by their shining red eyes. A rusty crown is balanced atop its mane. Those bitten by the Rat King turn into rat monsters themselves.
The rusty crown of the rat king allows anyone who wears it to understand and talk to rats. In turn, anyone who wears the crown will be the new King of the Rats, gaining complete dominion over the rats.
