Ponies tolerate animals and other sentient species eating meat if it's part of life/ecosystem.

Ponies are covered in fur and don't need clothes aside of cold seasons. Even then they wear only cloaks, hats and scarfs. Ponies don't wear underwear at all and it's considered completely normal since their private parts are not clearly visible due to fur. For some reason mares like to see colts/stallions in socks, but it's considered not marely for a mare to wear socks.

Powerful unicorns can learn multitude of spells like teleporting, creation of magical items etc. Unicorns are thought to be the weakest physically, but it's because they rely on magic for everyday life. Unicorn foals practically can't use magic and struggle to levitate even a pencil.

Alicorns are ponies that have attributes of all three basic pony species - horns like unicorns, wings like pegasi and stronger bodies like earth ponies. There are only 4 alicorns in Equestria - Celestia, Luna, Cadence and Twilight. There's not much know about Celestia and Luna's origin, but Cadence and Twilight ascended by Harmony will for special merits. There're no male alicorns. Alicorns have domains - Celestia and Luna can control Sun and Moon, Cadence has love spells, Twilight has a stronger connection to friendship magic.

Thestrals, commonly known as bat ponies, are a subspecies of pony. They have bat wings (leathery, not covered in feathers), long ears and fluffy coats. They are mostly active during the night. They have their own communities, but some live openly in pony settlements and find employment as night guards or in jobs that require working the graveyard shift. As bat ponies are nocturnal and rare, they are not often seen during the day, and some residents may not even realise they live in the same town.

Some herds consist of mares only, who are trying to attract a stallion. Due to the gender imbalance, this can sometimes be impossible. In this case, the mares may seek a stud contract so that one of them can be impregnated by a male outside the herd. The stallion has no legal obligations afterwards. Depending on the situation, the mares may or may not pay for it, depending on whether the stallion is a stranger or a friend of the family.
