- #1Bespin
Keys: Bespin, Cloud City, tibanna gas, Cloud City's, Bespin's, tibanna
Bespin was a gas giant in the star system of the same name in the Anoat sector, its riches manifested in the form of rare tibanna gas. Attracting mining interests and remaining unaffiliated in galactic affairs, Ugnaughts were employed to extract tibanna from repulsorlifted facilities whilst Bespin's mostly human population resided in the open upper levels, exposed to a thin layer of breathable atmosphere in an area known as a "Life Zone." Bespin was an immense gas giant located in the vicinity of the Anoat sector, a desolate sector of the galaxy. Bespin had two moons, and its gaseous mass contained a thin stratum of habitable atmosphere above a source of rare and costly tibanna gas, although there was no habitable land or water on the planet. The planet completed a full orbit around its star every 14 standard-years and a full rotation every 12 standard-hours. Viewed from the upper levels of Cloud City, in the breathable layer of the world, sunsets lasted 2 hours. Tibanna gas was harvested and refined in several mining complexes, including Cloud City, an opulent metropolis suspended in the planet's huge billowing clouds, and Chinook Station, a fuel depot and refueling station. Cloud City processed tibanna to be sold off-world. Bespin was home to many types of life, which was rare for a gas giant. The planet had two sister worlds, from which it was separated by an asteroid belt called Velser's Ring. Swimming pools were considered a rare luxury on Bespin.
- #2Kamino
Keys: Timira City's, Tipoca City, Kamino, Kamino's, Timira City, Tipoca City's
Kamino is an aquatic planet located in a remote star system in Wild Space. It was inhabited by a race of tall, elegant beings called the Kaminoans. Kamino has three moons orbiting the planet. The planet was composed of a molten core with a rocky mantle and silicate rock crust. Climatic change had long ago submerged the planet's continents, drowning the planet under a global ocean that covered almost all of the surface, with a few islands left that were once mountain tops. Its savage storms and powerful lightning bursts could be seen vaguely through its relatively thick atmosphere. Major cities are Tipoca City as it's capital, Timira City and the destroyed Derem City. Tipoca City was the capital city of Kamino and the site of a major cloning facility. Tipoca City, consisted of a network of stilt structures that spanned more than a hundred kilometers along Kamino's western equator. No Kaminoans took residence within the city. Nearly all Kaminoans who work within the city lived in numerous satellite cities situated around the capital. Constant traffic ran to and from Tipoca, as workers, bureaucrats, and many others traveled to and from their homes. The only living space in the city was the quarters of the prime minister and the military staff, and a group of apartments for cloning scientists. Timira City is a city located on the planet Kamino and site of a clandestine cloning facility for the Galactic Empire.
- #3Naboo
Keys: Naboo's, Naboo People, Naboo society, Theed, Theed's, Royal Naboo, Capital of Naboo, Royal City of Naboo, Royal Capital of Naboo, Naboo, The Naboo, Royal City of Theed
Naboo is a planet that was the sector capital of the Chommell sector in the Mid Rim, near the border of the Outer Rim. Naboo has unusual plasma core, and its surface was a largely unspoiled world with large plains, swamps and seas. The Gungans are native to Naboo. Naboo is home to Human colonists from Grizmallt who called themselves the Naboo. The largest mountain chain, the Gallo Mountains, bisected the largest continent and divided the great grass plains of the north from the Lianorm Swamp and bayous in the south. South of the Lianorm Swamp was the great, sea-like Lake Paonga, where at the bottom lay the Gungan city of Otoh Gunga. The Lake Country was an area known for its natural beauty, and was home to many vacation estates. Theed is the Capital of the Naboo. Theed is the capital city of Naboo. Located on a sheer cliff over a vast floodplain, the city is home to the Royal House of Naboo's Royal Palace and the Royal House of Learning. Theed has unified and harmonious architectural style of sandstone-like block buildings with green shingles on the roofs. A series of underground tunnels are built in the city's porous surface, all of which were meticulously maintained for generations. The sophisticated culture is suitable to the cultivation of politicians and statesmen. The Naboo are the Human inhabitants of the planet Naboo. Artistic and intellectual pursuits were the main drive in Naboo society, while also embracing nonviolence and rationalism in dispute resolution, never resorting to physical aggression. The Naboo are known for their love of peace, cordiality and warmth. Strangers are met with smiles, bows and helpfulness by the planet's residents. The Naboo prided themselvs on peace and diplomacy, and its capital Theed was a popular Star Tours destination due to its long, rich history and the fact that important figures in galactic history such as Padmé Amidala and Palpatine hailed from the planet.
- #4Alderaan
Keys: Alderaan, Alderaanians, Alderaanian society, Alderaanian culture, Alderaanian, Alderaanian's, Alderaan's
Alderaan, located in the Core Worlds, is the second planet in the Alderaan system. Renowned galaxy-wide for their planet's unspoiled beauty, refined culture, and commitment to peace, Alderaanians worked with and around the land to preserve as much of the natural surroundings as they could. Alderaan has wild grasslands, old mountain ranges, Large oceans and scattered inland and large variety of flora and fauna. Alderaanian cities are built with great care taken to protect nature. One such city, Crevasse City. The capital, Aldera, known for its university, was built on a small island in the center of a caldera. Some of the planet's major are wine, art, and luxury goods. Alderaan is known as "Planet of Beauty," Alderaanian culture valued education, performing, fine arts, and peaceful resolutions to conflicts. They placed high value in their participation in the Galactic Senate and later, its Imperial equivalent. Alderaanians constantly sought a harmonious existence with their surroundings. Alderaanians have love for philosophy. The average Alderaanian is very educated and cultured. Poets and artists thrived on Alderaan.
- #5Taris
Keys: Tarisian's, Taris', Taris's, Tarisian, Tarisians, Taris
Taris is an urban planet in the fifth orbit of its star, located in the Taris system, within the Ojoster sector, of the Outer Rim Territories. Taris is orbited by four moons, including an anomalous moon nicknamed "Rogue Moon." The term Tarisian was used to describe people and products from the planet. The planet's ecumenopolis quickly developed over a century of prosperity, and as a result the planet suffered from massive overpopulation. Once a galactic nexus that earned great wealth from its strategic position on hyperspace routes, Taris' importance declined with the discovery of improved trade routes, and the planet rapidly fell into decay. The city became segmented, the lower classes were banned from living in the upper levels of Taris, and the planet became the poster child of a economically dying world. Much of the city has been rebuilt but never to the extent of it prior.
- #6Byss
Keys: Byss, Byss', Byss's
Byss is a mythic paradise world in the Deep Core, near the center of the galaxy, discovered no earlier than 45 BBY. A local day lasted 31 standard hours, and a local year lasted 207 local days. Byss itself is somewhat of a myth, seeming to be the perfect place to live. Its eerie blue-green glow, caused by its sun, also added to the strangeness of the world. Despite this outward appearance, the dark-side energies were everywhere, corrupting not only the inhabitants, but the planet itself. Byss was the secret throne world of Palpatine and the location of his towering Imperial Citadel. It's situated at the end of the Byss Run, a heavily guarded artificial hyperlane kept open by hundreds of non-mass S-thread boosters, connecting the planet to the Core Worlds. The planet is otherwise nearly impossible to reach safely through hyperspace, due to the high density of stars in the Deep Core and the constantly shifting patterns of the region's natural hyperlanes. Byss is the fifth planet of the Beshqek system and orbited the star Beshqek; it was one of two habitable planets in the system, the other being Relus. The planet was orbited by five small moons, which had little influence on its tides.
- #7Lothal
Keys: Lothalite's, Lothalite, Lothal, Lothal's, Lothalites
Lothal was a planet in the Outer Rim Territories. During the early years of the Galactic Empire, Lothal was in a state of economic disrepair and invited the Empire to take over the planet's industries, with the promise of prosperity and security. Although many people said the Empire would bring doom, their attempted insurgency failed, while the Lothalites, who preached of new jobs and prosperity, were vindicated. The Lothal system was located on the frontier of the Outer Rim and was several minutes away from the planet Garel via hyperspace travel. The Lothal sector as a whole was located in the "northeast" of the galaxy, on the extreme edge of the Outer Rim, directly bordering the Calamari sector (noted for containing Mon Cala). The planet Lothal was varied world with a temperate climate. It was primarily terrestrial, and was known for its grassy plains, spine tree forests, farmland, long, low, snow-capped mountains, and gentle, shallow inland seas of freshwater. The planet also had prairie wilderness and marshes, the later of which were said to house will-o'-the-wisps. Some notable fauna included the loth-cats and the loth-wolves. By the Imperial Era, loth-wolves were widely believed to be extinct but could manifest themselves to Force-sensitive individuals. They were connected to the planet through the Force. Besides the administrative and metropolitan center Capital City, Lothal was sparsely populated; other farming towns were located amid the plains and rock formations across the planet. Distinctive conical spires punctuated the skylines of Lothal's plains, ranging in height and often found in large clusters. Lothal was also known to contain several types of precious minerals, including scarce kyber crystals. The Galactic Empire established several factories and mines which polluted and marred much of the planet's previously pristine natural environment. Imperial business even disrupted the planet's varied weather, which had once brought natural wonders such as thunderheads rolling over its mountains and the sound of the wind. Even those who only knew the Empire still came to miss things such as the smell of jogan blossoms on the breeze since the Empire destroyed many orchards to make way for mines. Much of the planet's surface had been strip-mined to harvest minerals for the Empire. The planet was also polluted by Imperial factories. One of the coveted minerals present on the planet was doonium, which the Mining Guild ruthlessly exploited on Lothal, like it had on multiple other worlds. Lothal also had a southern hemisphere which was covered in grassy plains. Individuals and animals could use a network of caves and tunnels to travel from the northern to southern hemispheres. Prior to the coming of the Galactic Empire, Lothal was governed by a legislative body that was based at the Lothal City Capitol Building in Capital City. Under Imperial rule, Lothal was ruled by a Governor who commanded the planet's armed forces and political affairs. Originally, Lothal was governed by Governor Ryder Azadi, until he was arrested for treason. Arihnda Pryce then became governor and was supported by several ministers, including Minister Maketh Tua and Assistant Vice Minister Sarkos. Lothal was also home to several Imperial government departments including the Ministry of Agriculture, the Imperial Agricultural Collective, the Transportation Ministry, the Security Ministry, the Education Ministry, and a substantial Imperial Military garrison. Lothal's communications with the wider galaxy were handled by an Imperial Communications Center near the town of Jalath. Known Imperial industrial operations including several mines in the Westhills, multiple Sienar Fleet Systems factories, and a BlasTech weapons laboratory in the Easthills near Capital City. Lothal was chosen by several Imperial corporations as a base since the planet provided plenty of open space for testing new spacecraft and weapons. These factories provided jobs for many of Lothal's citizens. Under Imperial rule, Lothal's previously self-sufficient farming communities were displaced as the Imperial Mining Institute evicted farmers to excavate their lands for metal deposits. The Mining Guild was involved in some of these operations in addition to the Empire. The Empire's exorbitantly high taxes on all sorts of goods making their way in or out of Lothal had the unfortunate affect of creating a booming black market in Capital City. There are plenty corrupt government officials to be found on Lothal, many of whom take advantage of the situation, forcing some of Lothal's citizens to pay exorbitant fees as "protection money." Lothal hosted several educational institutions including the Academy for Young Imperials, a one-year junior academy in Capital City that prepared Imperial cadets for further training offworld at senior academies throughout the Outer Rim. Other known educational institutions included the Technical Institute for Agricultural Research, the Pretor Flats Academy, the Junior Academy of Applied Sciences, and the Vocational School for Institutional Security. There was also the upper crust Phelarion School for the children of both Lothal's wealthy elite and the children of Imperial officers. During the Imperial Era, these schools and academies were used by the Imperial authorities to indoctrinate the planet's young people and to train them to contribute to Lothal's economic development.
- #8Coruscant
Keys: Coruscant's, Coruscant
Coruscant (pronounced /'kɔɹəsɑnt/), also known as Jewel of the Core Worlds, or Imperial Center during the rule of the Galactic Empire, was an ecumenopolis—a city-covered planet, in the Coruscant system of the Core Worlds. Prior to being covered by over five thousand metallic levels of what would become known as Imperial City, Coruscant was the ancient homeworld of the Taung and Zhell species. Though debated by historians, the theory that Coruscant was the ancestral world of humans remained unproven. Noted for its cosmopolitan culture and towering skyscrapers, Coruscant's population consisted of trillions of citizens hailing from a vast array of both humanoid and alien species. In addition, Coruscant's strategic location at the end of several major trade routes enabled it to grow in power and influence, causing the city-planet to surpass its early rivals and become the hub of galactic culture, education, finance, fine arts, politics and technology. It was the location of several major landmarks, including the Jedi Temple, Monument Plaza, and the Senate Building.
Serving as the capital of the galaxy since the ancient days of the old Galactic Republic, Coruscant was at the center of many historic events, such as the Jedi Order's conflict with the Sith. Although the planet fell under Sith control for a time, Republic forces ultimately liberated Coruscant with the aid of the Jedi Knights. Their victory was so decisive that at one point the Sith became all but extinct, replacing an age of darkness and strife with the democratic rule of the modern Galactic Republic. Retaining its status as galactic capital, it was on Coruscant where the Galactic Senate governed the galaxy for centuries, establishing an era of peace that lasted for almost a millennium under the protection of the Jedi peacekeepers. However, political intrigue wrought by corruption and secession transformed Coruscant into a dangerous environment by the time of the Clone Wars with the Confederacy of Independent Systems. On the eve of the New Order, fulfilling a grand scheme, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, who was, in fact, the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, declared the Jedi enemies of the state, resulting in a galaxy-wide purge that all but destroyed the Jedi Order. Without the Jedi to oppose him, Palpatine dissolved the Republic and declared himself Galactic Emperor to the applause of the now Imperial Senate.
Coruscant continued to serve as galactic capital under the Empire, having become the Emperor's throneworld, although Palpatine himself disappeared from public view for the most part, leaving the day-to-day governing to his advisors in the Imperial Ruling Council.
- #9Corellia
Keys: Corellians, Corellian, Corellia's, Corellian's, Corellia
Corellia was a planet located in the galaxy's Core Worlds known for its ace pilots and large starships. The planet's vast shipyards produced many vessels over hundreds of years, including starfighters and Star Destroyers for the Galactic Empire as well as other famous models, such as the YT-1300 light freighter. Corellia was located in the Corellian sector in the Core Worlds. It had a temperate climate and was covered in forests, jungles, and urban centers. The official planetary colors of Corellia were blue and gold. One major city was Coronet City (also the planet's capital), which was home to shipyards that, during the Imperial Era, produced TIE fighters and Star Destroyers for the Galactic Empire. The shipyards were one of Corellia's most prominent characteristics in addition to being known for producing capable pilots. Corellia also manufactured the YT-1300 light freighter. The planet's human inhabitants were called Corellians and were known for their wanderlust. Besides humans, Corellia was also inhabited by several alien species. Corellia was also home to several native creatures including Corellian hounds and fleek eels. The politics of Corellia were often dangerous and sometimes drew blood, with different politicians vying for new positions and engaging in shady deals. An ancient Core World, Corellia was the homeworld of natives known for their wanderlust. In the time before they explored the stars, Corellians embarked on ocean voyages to satisfy that wanderlust, traversing the seas to discover new continents and catch vast quantities of fish. After the advent of space travel, Corellian royalty sponsored exploration and colonization efforts that helped expand galactic civilization by furthering the frontiers of the Old Republic in its youth. Corellian colonists settled on thousands of worlds, and its hyperspace scouts paved many of the galaxy's major hyperspace routes, making Corellia an important planet in the Galactic Republic. The planet became known through the galaxy for the Corellian people's wanderlust and its massive shipyards. Eventually, the ancient Corellian royalty, which included Prince-Admiral Jonashe Solo, faded away and the throne stood vacant for many years. In the millennia leading up to the Imperial Era, Corellia's key role in the expansion of galactic civilization decreased and power shifted to younger, more vibrant planets. The once influential world gained a reputation as a polluted planet with extensive poverty and crime. With its importance in galactic affairs reduced, Corellia was nonetheless recognized for its historic significance. Corellians were a cultural group of humans native to the planet Corellia. Corellians were humans native to the planet Corellia, a temperate Core World of forests, jungles, and industrial urban environments. The world and its natives were known for their shipbuilding, with the Corellian Engineering Corporation producing starships ranging from freighters such as the YT-1300 to cruisers like the Consular-class utilized by the Galactic Republic. Many notable Corellians were also famed among the galaxy's greatest pilots. Corellians became notable throughout the galaxy for their wanderlust, only for the planet to lose its importance to the wider galaxy as younger planets took its power. Many Corellians had begun to show ideals based upon isolationism during the Golden Age of the Republic, only for those opinions to be parodied in the song Corellia for Corellians. A Corellian politician once claimed a brawl was a "very Corellian welcome" to their homeworld.
- #10Kessel
Keys: Kessel, Kessel's
Kessel was a planet within the Akkadese Maelstrom that hosted spice mines. The planet also exported coaxium and Kesselstone. While Kessel's northern hemisphere was devoted to mining, the planet's southern hemisphere was home to lush sanctuaries. During the Imperial Era, the Galactic Empire and Pyke Syndicate ran several mining operations that employed slave labor. These slave mining operations were targeted by various underworld and rebel factions. The planet Kessel was located within the Akkadese Maelstrom in the Kessel sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Much of the planet's northern hemisphere was devoted to mining spice, coaxium, and kesselstone. While much of Kessel's surface was devoted to mining said minerals, Kessel's southern hemisphere was home to lush sanctuaries. The world had a hot and humid climate and was a hotbed of life. Theories suggest that the source of spice within Kessel was the turbulent area of space that surrounds the planet. Over eons, debris from churning singularities of the Maw Cluster and surrounding Akkadese Maelstrom accumulated into the planetary mass. This mineral-rich world produced a vibrant ecology with enormous forests. Kessel was a key world in the spice trade, with slavery being used in the production of goods. For years, the Pykes dealt with spice mined from Kessel, using smugglers and freighter captains to deliver it to the crime families of Coruscant. The Galactic Empire also operated a mining operation, employing numerous slaves, including Wookiees, to harvest spice. Meanwhile, the Yaruba Family of Kessel lived in lush sanctuaries in the planet's southern hemisphere, turning a blind eye to the brutal working conditions in the mines of the northern hemisphere.
- #11Dantooine
Keys: Dantoonie, Dantoonie's
Dantooine was a planet in the Dantooine system, in the Raioballo sector of the Outer Rim Territories' northern New Territories region. Dantooine was affiliated with both the Galactic Republic and later, the Galactic Empire. A terrestrial planet within the Raioballo sector of the Outer Rim Territories, near the Sinsang and Angor systems, Dantooine was the fourth planet in-orbit around its star, Dina. Dantooine, itself, was orbited by two moons, the larger of which shone a light purple luminescence, while the lesser of the two gave a greenish radiance. Two hyperspace lanes ran near-to Dantooine: the long, winding Veragi Trade Route, and the smaller Myto's Arrow, a rather backwater route from Dantooine to Jaemus—though which provided travelers with a faster trip. Nevertheless, despite having a close proximity to both lanes, Dantooine was considered somewhat inaccessible. Most of the planetary surface topography and geography of Dantooine consisted of grassy plains and low, rolling hillocks and mounds dotted with blba trees, as well as forested hills containing creeks, rivers, and large freshwater lakes. Much of Dantooine's weather away from the colder poles was rather uneventful, remaining steadily temperate, mild, and semi-dry throughout much of its 378–local day year. In springtime, the rainy season in spring, which brought torrential downpours that turned the fertile soil into mud and tinged the brown grass with a shade of lavender. Dantooine also had damp, dense forests with thorny undergrowth and an endless canopy, where sap farms were grown. Dantooine was rich in wildlife. The foliage from the plains blba trees sustained large herbivores, such as the piket. Native predators included the stalker lizard, the graul, and the kath hound, though the latter had become rare in the wild after many were captured as guard animals and pets. Fabool, a balloon-like creature, were sometimes punctured by blba tree thorns and eaten by carnivorous snails.
- #12Dathomir
Keys: Dathomir's, Dathomir
Dathomir, nicknamed the "rancor planet," was a remote, neutral, and obscure planet in the Dathomir system of the Quelii sector in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy. The dark side of the Force had an immensely strong presence on Dathomir, which allowed for the nurturing of many malevolent Force wielders native to the planet. Several witch clans were prominent on the planet and practiced the Force-based abilities of magick. These clans included the Nightsister, Blue Coral Diver, Singing Mountain, and Howling Crag clans. Under the rule of the Nightsisters were the Nightbrothers, a group of male Dathomirian warriors who were kept as breeding partners. The planet, bathed in blood-red light by its sun Domir, had numerous continents that were overrun with vegetation, forests, and swamplands. It was also the homeworld of the semi-sentient rancor species. During the Clone Wars, Dathomir would come under attack multiple times due to the machinations of Mother Talzin and her rival Darth Sidious, leading to the destruction of most of the Nightsisters and settlements on the planet by the Confederacy of Independent Systems after conquering it. Asajj Ventress, a Nightsister trained by Count Dooku, returned to Mother Talzin after her master betrayed her. This drew Dooku's attention to Dathomir, resulting in the slaughter of the Nightsisters. Dathomir was a remote and uninviting world, although it was temperate and verdant, with a comfortable atmosphere despite its challenging ecosystem and dangerous predators. The Dathomirian subspecies of Zabrak was native to the planet. Perpetually bathed in a red mist, its terrain was one of contrasts, ranging from the murky swamps the Nightsisters lived in, to the harsh, barren rocks where the Nightbrothers found residence. Not many of Dathomir's residents left the planet, and those elsewhere in the galaxy rarely visited it. Besides the rancor, other native creatures included bane back spiders, large and aggressive arachnids that spat corrosive acid, and nydaks, bipedal predators with powerful arms that allowed them to easily traverse the landscape. Among the most distinctive creatures native to Dathomir, however, was the chirodactyl, a species of gigantic bat that used its massive wings to fly to high heights and swoop down on unwary prey. One example of this species, Gorgara, was known by the native Nightbrothers as "the winged daemon of the canyon" and was particularly feared by them. Dathomir also had aquatic life, such as the Burra fish. Fishing families on the planet Batuu cooked and cultivated the foreign Burra fish for consumption. Another aquatic creature, the Sleeper, was an ancient mollusk with two large lavender eyes, a carapace-covered body, antennae, and four appendages, and lived deep in the murky blue water within the Nightsister lair. The Sleeper was very important in Nightsister tradition as it had an ingredient vital in the Water of Life.
- #13Kuat
Keys: Kuat's, Kuati, Kuat, Kuati's
Kuat was a planet located in the Core Worlds and one of the earliest members of the Galactic Republic. It was best known as the home of Kuat Drive Yards. These famous shipyards, used to build ships for both the Galactic Republic and later the Galactic Empire, circled the planet for thousands of kilometers. Kuat was the fourth planet from the star Kuat, located in the Kuat system of the Kuat sector in the Core Worlds region of the galaxy. Situated on a hyperlane that connected it to Raxxa and Balmorra and less than six parsecs away from Neimoidia, it was a green terrestrial world orbited by two moons named Bador and Ronay. A day on Kuat was 20 standard hours in length, and a year lasted 322 local days. Kuat had standard gravity and a breathable atmosphere, and at 10,000 kilometers in diameter, it was considered a small planet. The surface of Kuat featured three continents and scattered islands, and most of the world's terrain consisted of lush forests, rolling green plains, and carefully-groomed gardens. The planet had a temperate climate with a cool, wet winter and a warm, dry summer. Hostile animal life was nonexistent on Kuat, as terraformers had stocked the planet with inoffensive herbivores, which provided compost for the world's gardens. The introduced species did not overrun the planet due to short life spans and the presence of predators. An industrial world and center of manufacturing that played a significant role in galactic shipbuilding, Kuat was the home of Kuat Drive Yards, whose shipyards and construction facilities were the most prominent feature of Kuat, encircling the planet in the shape of a large ring. Kuat was considered one of the most efficient shipyards in the galaxy, and its defenses were formidable, with protection provided by the Kuati Sector Forces and designs used for self-defense by Kuat Drive Yards. Kuat had an aristocratic government and exported luxury goods, alcohol, art, and food while importing electronics, machinery, and raw materials. A Kuati was a Human from the planet of Kuat, in the Core Worlds. Their society was in some aspects matriarchal and dominated by powerful ruling families that constantly fought among themselves and employed telbuns to prevent inbreeding. Kuati nobles referred to themselves in the royal we. Kuati were widely known across the galaxy for their shipbuilding skills and their control of Kuat Drive Yards. Kuati houses were often composed of a single extended aristocratic family. Each house had long ago devised a system to prevent unfortunate political alliances that sometimes were brought about as a result of ill-advised marriage. Amongst outsiders, it was believed Kuati politics were labyrinthine and cutthroat. Traits such as nepotism, graft, corruption and cronyism were abound with the lines between an aristocrat, business executive and politician being blurred amongst their people. An ancient nautical tradition amongst the Kuati involved using a gilded blade to cut a symbolic tether attached to a prototype ship.
- #14Hoth
Keys: Hoth's, Hoth
Hoth was a remote, icy planet that was the sixth planet in the star system of the same name, located in the Anoat sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. It was the homeworld to the primitive wampa species. From space, the planet of Hoth looked like a pale blue orb due to its dense snow and ice covering. Five planets existed between Hoth and its sun, while an asteroid belt surrounded the planet with meteors occasionally striking the surface. Most of its surface was covered with glaciers and frozen ice plains. Despite the characterization of Hoth as being a planet of frozen tundras and nothing more, a characterization that naturalists said would be fair if someone only viewed the world from orbit, another third of the planet was covered by oceans. The temperature, although always frigid, was known to drop to -60°C come nightfall. Although devoid of intelligent life, Hoth was home to fifteen subspecies of tauntauns. It was also home to a species of towering predators known as wampas. The planet also had a number of "crystalline geysers."
- #15Felucia
Keys: Felucia, Felucia's
Felucia, known as Galush prior to the formation of the Galactic Republic, was a colorful, humid jungle planet located in the Felucia system of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. The headquarters of the Commerce Guild, its primary agricultural export was the valuable crop nysillin, which was largely farmed by the native Felucian tribes. Its important strategic location along the Perlemian Trade Route and the planet's nysillin crops made it a major battleground throughout the Clone Wars. Felucia was a remote world in the Felucia system, overrun with thick, colorful, and humid jungle made up by a unique combination of fungi species. The jungle was punctuated with small farming villages populated by the planet's native Felucians, as well as occasional cities, such as the capital, Kway Teow. Felucia was governed by the Commerce Guild, who represented the planet's corporate interests on the galactic stage. The world was a hotbed of life, and several non-sentient species also inhabited the world, including Gelagrubs, jungle rancors, and tee-muss. Despite its perceived insignificance, its important location and resources (which included the healing plant nysillin) led to several conflicts both in orbit and on the surface.
- #16Tatooine
Keys: Tatooine, Tatooine's
Tatooine was a sparsely inhabited circumbinary desert planet located in the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. Part of a binary star system, the planet orbited two scorching suns, resulting in the world lacking the necessary surface water to sustain large populations. As a result, many residents of the planet instead drew water from the atmosphere via moisture farms. The planet also had little surface vegetation. It was the homeworld to the native Jawa and Tusken Raider species. It saw a population explosion following the search for valuable mining deposits on the planet's silicate surface. Finding the ore to have undesirable metallurgical properties, mining firms left the planet en masse, leaving behind valuable equipment, most notably large sandcrawlers, which were later used by the Jawa population. The planet then became a haven for smugglers and criminal activity, and fell under the influence of the Hutt Clan while scattered, isolated settlements of hard-working inhabitants endured. Tatooine was a hot desert planet located in the Outer Rim, a region of the galaxy far removed from its core. It had three moons, Ghomrassen, Guermessa, and Chenini. Tatooine orbited twin suns, Tatoo I and Tatoo II. According to Jawa folklore, the desert known as the Dune Sea was once a true ocean. The whole planet was covered in harsh deserts, and only a small part of its northern hemisphere could sustain intelligent life. The landscape was covered with sand dunes, mountains, and canyons, which made traversing the planet very difficult. Due to the absence of surface water, those who lived on Tatooine had to draw moisture through the dry air. Rain was incredibly rare on Tatooine, coming once a year, decade, or century. When the rain came, some plants were able to grow in a brief yet glorious period. Inhabiting the planet were many native species, the largest of which were the carnivorous krayt dragons. The common krayt dragon, while more plentiful, was shadowed by the greater krayt dragon, which submerged itself under the shifting sands and used its powerful limbs to traverse through the dunes. In addition, the common bantha and eopie species also found a home on the world, along with dewbacks, rontos, womp rats, massiffs, and scurriers. The cities of Tatooine were frequently blasted by sandstorms and the inhabitants always seemed to know when one was coming. Not much distinguished the towns as the poor standard of living was common. The cities were separated from each other by large expanses of deserts. Rural life, on the other hand, was mostly small moisture farms that sold water and food for a meager living.
- #17Zeltros
Keys: Zeltros', Zeltros, Zeltros's
Zeltros was a planet in the Inner Rim, and the homeworld of the Zeltron race. An opulent world, hedonism was the doctrine encouraged by the empathetic Zeltrons, and Zeltros was continuously in a state of never ending revelry. The Zeltron appreciation of beauty in its many forms led to luxurious art and architecture covering the world, and the galaxy's most wealthy favored Zeltros as a vacation destination. Many who came to the planet were taken in by the celebratory atmosphere and the powerful pheromones of the Zeltron people to the point they found it difficult to leave, and even planetary invasions often floundered in the face of Zeltros' planet-wide festivities. In accordance with that species' reputation, Zeltros was known as a luxury world, where many went to vacation, owing to the planet's abundance of pleasurable facilities ranging from amusement parks to theaters, night clubs, and much more. There was almost always a planet-wide party occurring, and even when it wasn't, the Zeltrons were looking for a reason to throw one. Like Naboo, it was ruled by an elective monarchy. The planet eventually joined the Galactic Republic. Despite its famous atmosphere of leisure, Zeltros maintained a substantial defense force, although it lacked planetary shielding and was susceptible to orbital bombardments. The planet was invaded twelve times in 6 centuries. It was never taken over by the Empire. To date, every invasion of Zeltros broke apart when the invaders made it planetside, the pheromones and party atmosphere overwhelming them.
- #18Nal Hutta
Keys: Hutta, Nal Hutta, Hutta's, Nal Hutta's
Nal Hutta, also known simply as Hutta, was a hot, swampy planet located deep within Hutt Space of the galaxy that was the homeworld of the Hutt species and headquarters of the Grand Hutt Council. Nal Hutta was a major haven for both the government—aligned Hutt Clan and other criminal elements of the galaxy, located far from galactic authorities. Its terrain was largely bloated swamps and bogs coated in greasy rains. Nal Hutta, known also as just Hutta was a ringed planet nestled in the depths of Hutt Space and was located in the Outer Rim Territories and The Slice. It was a mist-covered swamp world with a hot, humid and fetid climate maintained by thick swampy rain that fell almost perpetually. The world was a hotbed of life and its environment was fairly representative of the sentient Hutt species that inhabited the world. The influence of the Hutts made the world an important location. The planet's surface was covered with numerous bogs with what little solid land there was claimed by the Hutts and used to support their homes. The Hutts built only a handful of spaceports on the surface of Nal Hutta in order to connect their towns, settlements, and palaces, as the planet received few visitors due to most business with offworlders being conducted on the planet's largest moon, Nar Shaddaa. The foremost of these spaceports was the planet's capital city, Bilbousa, a sprawling mess covered in arching roots that spread out from looming bulbous pods. Within sight of the city was the Palace of Gardulla Besadii the Elder, one of the largest buildings on Nal Hutta, which served as the occasional headquarters of the Grand Hutt Council, the ruling body that both worked and led the Hutt Clan. Under the Hutt's control, the planet shared a reputation with Nar Shaddaa for being polluted and dangerous, but played a leading role in the galaxy's shadow economy.
- #19Carida
Keys: Carida, Carida's
Carida, originally known as Ord Carida, was a planet of the Colonies region of the galaxy, near the Perlemian Trade Route, and the homeworld of the Caridan race. This large, high-gravity world was covered in everything from rocky mountains and frozen ice fields, to rain forests full of carnivorous plants, and deserts. As such, this planet was the perfect training ground for combat in difficult terrain. It was an exporter of food, and was ruled by the Council of Merchants, which later shared power with a military administration. Originally known as Ord Carida, the planet was colonized by the Galactic Republic as an Ordnance/Regional Depot. The Carida Academy was a private, and later state-supported, comprehensive military institution. The institution was known by a variety of names such as Caridan Military Academy, Academy of Carida, Academy at Carida, and Spacers Academy while its unofficial name among the Cadets was Cliffside because of its precarious geographic location, on the Spinara Plateau: a five-hundred-foot dropoff along the east side.
The Academy itself was less than one-tenth of the larger, sprawling Imperial Military Training Base, which typically housed more than one hundred and fifty thousand personnel, mostly human males (mirroring the trends of the Imperial culture), including the recruits, cadets, and instructors.
The Academy formed a triumvirate of elite military institutions along with the academies of Raithal and Corulag and as such it produced a high number of Imperial officer corps.
- #20Raithal
Keys: Raithal, Raithal's
Raithal was a planet in the Colonies, on the Perlemian Trade Route near the border with the Inner Rim. Terrain: Freezing Oceans, Ice Plains, Ice Mesas, Ice Canyons The Raithal Academy, also known as the Imperial Army Academy, Raithal Military Academy, and Raithal Army Academy, was a prestigious school that trained citizens to serve in the Judicial Department of the Galactic Republic. It was later assimilated into the Imperial Academy and remained one of its most prestigious branches, along with the Academy of Carida and Corulag Academy. The Raithal Academy's attendees were trained for service in the Imperial Army.
- #21Corulag
Keys: Corulag's, Corulag
Corulag (pronounced /'kʊɹalæg/) was a populated terrestrial planet located on the Perlemian Trade Route in the Corulus system in the Bormea sector, part of the Ringali Shell. It was the endpoint of the Corulag-Jatir Hyperroute. The planet boasted urban sprawls with the underdeveloped areas filled with bamboo forests. It was near the Ringali Nebula and shared the sun Corulus with Solag, Biolag, and Garulag. Originally a colony of Coruscant, Corulag was a Core World with a mostly Human population with a few Wookiees, Aqualish, Ithorians and Selkath as well. The planet was known for its swoop races. It was the headquarters of Aether Hypernautics, Danthe Artifice, Ltd., Gowix Computers, Gwain Spices, Korden Outfitting and Surveying and the Mansom Corporation. Sienar Fleet Systems developed the TIE/Ad x7 at the Sienar Advanced Research Division on Corulag, the same facility from which Dash Rendar stole the Outrider's engines. It was also home to Coreguard Security Services, which provided security to other companies on the planet. A longtime supporter of the Core Worlds, Corulag shrewdly aligned with Senator Palpatine during his rise to power. Corulag remained loyal to the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars, where it was represented by Senator Zafiel Snopps. Corulag, unlike other planets in the Bormea sector, was represented independently; all others were represented at that time by Mon Mothma. When the New Order was declared, the Emperor rewarded its loyalty with high-ranking posts for many citizens and the founding of a major Imperial academy, second only to Raithal’s. The academy created jobs, offered Army and Navy training, and attracted industries tied to the Imperial war machine. In return, Corulag’s people upheld order in their system and hosted key institutions like the Corulag Academy and Sienar Fleet Systems’ Advanced Research Division. After the Emperor took over, the planet's population was extremely loyal to Palpatine, and its behavior was pointed out as model Imperial behavior. The capital city of Curamelle was home to the Corulag Academy, an Imperial military academy. Also during this time, Corulag was home to numerous prisons which held enemies of the Galactic Empire. The House of Citizens was still officially in power, being the lineal descendant of the ancient governments of Corulag through the millennia, though Zafiel Snopps was the de facto ruler and dictator as Imperial governor of the world. Corulag Academy, formally the Corulag Imperial Military Academy, was an educational military institution in Curamelle, the capital city of Corulag. It was created before the rise of the Empire, however, and served the Galactic Republic's Army before the Clone Wars. After Palpatine took power, the Academy was a branch of the Empire-wide military school. The Academy trained members of both the Imperial Navy and the Army in undergraduate and graduate degrees. In addition, the specific fields within the Academy were navy midshipmen, army cadets, flight school pilots, and specialists from all services within the Imperial Military. It also accepted Graduates from both Raithal Academy and Prefsbelt IV Naval Academy. A branch of the Navy's training program was also located on Corulag's largest moon.
- #22Metellos
Keys: Metellos, Metellos's, Metellos'
Metellos was the fourth of seven planets in the Metellos system of the Corusca sector in the Core Worlds region. The planet orbited one star, also called Metellos, and in turn was orbited by three moons. Metellos, also known as "the Coruscant that wasn't," was the fourth planet from the star Metellos in the Metellos system of the Corusca sector in the Core Worlds region of the galaxy. It was located on the Metellos Trade Route, a hyperlane on which it lay between the Norkronia system and Coruscant. A traditional uninterrupted hyperjump to Ilum was made from Metellos, but could only be accomplished by pilots who were strong in the Force and was kept secret by the Jedi. A day on Metellos lasted 24 standard hours and a year lasted 361 standard days. A terrestrial world with a diameter of 12,600 kilometers, Metellos possessed three moons and featured a breathable atmosphere, temperate climate, and standard gravity. With the exception of a few seas and desert wastelands, the surface of Metellos was entirely urbanized. Seventeen large stratablocks were present on Metellos, and structures such as these reached heights as great as one kilometer above the planet's surface, tapering off into single-story structures. Many tracts, especially those situated far away from the stratablocks, were shabby, environmentally toxic, and occupied by diseased squatters. A stratablock was one of the 17 affluent areas of the planet Metellos where the buildings towered more than a kilometer above the surface. The stratablocks were surrounded on all sides by a sea of single-story structures, packed tightly together. Though Metellos was a huge ecumenopolis, most of the land area, and indeed most of its population, lived in shabby, polluted slums hugging ground level. The stratablocks stood out, "as if a chunk of Coruscant had simply been dropped there." In spite of its problems, Metellos was considered to be a highly developed planet. Metellos was governed by a bureaucracy and exported business services and advanced technology while importing foodstuffs and office supplies. More than 1,000 floating cities, constructed by the wealthy executives of the planet to compensate for overcrowding, drifted 1,200 meters above housing precincts. Designers modeled these cities after the herd cities of Ithor, though in reality the gridlike Metellean constructs were obviously quite different from their inspirations. Humans comprised 90% of Metellos's population of 900 billion, which made the planet among the most densely-populated in the galaxy. Overpopulation was the greatest problem that affected Metellos. The population was divided into two social classes: the gentry, who controlled the floating cities and the upper levels of the stratoblocks, and the groundpounders, who consisted of datapushers, plant laborers, con artists, thieves, and indigents. Galactic Basic Standard was spoken by the planet's inhabitants, who typically felt that their homeworld was unimpressive by the standards of the Core Worlds.
- #23Ithor
Keys: Ithor's, Ithor
Ithor was the fourth planet located in Ottega system of the Mid Rim. One of the oldest members of the Galactic Republic, it was a planet full of lush life, and the planet's surface had not a touch of civilization on it. The Ithorians themselves, otherwise known as "Hammerheads," built great floating cities that did not harm the surface, which they considered to be sacred. Entry upon the surface was forbidden, unless one stayed there permanently. Some Ithorians such as the Oracle were compelled to go down to the planet surface, however, as they "heard the call" of Mother Jungle, the Ithorian religion's personification of Ithor's world-spanning jungle. The surface of the planet of Ithor played host to numerous plants, including the bafforr tree, which possessed telepathic capabilities. The planet contained andurite stone, and every three Ithorian years was the center of the Time of Meeting. The planet had many moons in its night sky. The surface of the planet Ithor was formerly an immense jungle. Following the Ithorian belief in the Law of Life, most Ithorians never actually set foot on their own planet, instead they lived in floating cities above their world called herdships. Only three of their continents had been explored and harvested, the other two never having been touched by Ithorian hands, demonstrating their devout belief in the protection and sustainability of their environment. Such protectionism toward their environment gave rise to numerous native plants and animals. The bafforr tree was considered semi-sentient and possessed telepathic capabilities and acted as a sort of distributed intellect - the larger the forest was, the higher the collective intellect. The Bafforr trees, or simply Bafforrs, were crystalline plants native to Ithor. They had blue, glassy bark—which quickly blackened upon death—and black leaves. Though unintelligent on their own, groups of Bafforrs could communicate via intertwined root systems, becoming more intelligent. Seven Bafforrs could achieve a fully sentient collective consciousness, with whole Bafforr forests being wiser than any other being known to the Ithorians. Bafforrs communicated through a form of telepathy. Imported reeks' primary diet consisted of the Bafforr tree's leaves. Ithorian herd ships were hundreds of meters tall and could house several thousand inhabitants. The circular, almost bowl-like ships hovered above the surface of Ithor, and the Ithorians considered the jungles within them sacred and would not allow themselves—or others—to set foot in them. The Ithorians lived on these herd ships for thousands of years and pointed to them as examples of ways to integrate technology and nature harmoniously. Unlike the gleaming towers preferred by Humans, the exterior of herd ships are covered by mosses, flowers, and immense trees. They have landing platforms for incoming starships and speeders, while dozens of gigantic repulsorlift engines propell it slowly over the jungle landscape. The ship's interior environments reproduced virtually every terrain known to Ithor as well as many found on other worlds. The ship had several large halls where visitors could purchase goods from the shrewd Ithorian traders. A popular area to visit was the Great Atrium; it was nearly a kilometer across, with moss-covered walls leading to the open air above. Other popular destinations included the upper and lower observation decks, which offered stunning views of the jungle and Ithor's brilliant violet night sky. Adventurous visitors were allowed to rent speeders for guided sight-seeing tours above the jungle.
- #24Alsakan
Keys: Alsakan's, Alsakan, Alsakani's, Alsakani
Alsakan was an ecumenopolis world in the Alsakan system in the Core Worlds. A Core Founder on the Perlemian Trade Route, Alsakan was an ancient, wealthy world that had been a major political player for centuries, and was responsible for the seventeen Alsakan Conflicts that had been fought with Coruscant over the nature and shape of the early Galactic Republic. Positioned on the Perlemian Trade Route immediately Rimward of Coruscant, Alsakan was a heavily-urbanized planet that had been a regional power broker for millennia. A Core Founder, it was considered part of the Arrowhead, the triangle of ancient systems at the head of the Perlemian and the Corellian Run that had grown out of the Tetrahedron in the earliest days of the Galactic Republic. Alsakani culture and values came to dominate the Human-majority worlds of the Perlemian, which championed local independence and limited government. This region, known as "the Axis", came into opposition to the heavily-urbanized and bureaucratic megaworlds of "the Spin," the parts of the Corellian Run and Metellos Trade Route dominated by Coruscant where a strong state was seen as a protector against economic exploitation. Over a period of 14,000 years the two coalitions would fight seventeen wars over these ideological differences. The Alsakani were Human settlers who had arrived on the planet aboard the colony ship Kuat Explorer some twenty-six thousand years ago. As a people, they were aristocratic in their values and enthusiastic for open spaces and local independence. Consequently, they had sought a limited economic and political union when the Galactic Republic was formed, and for much of their history were inclined to see Coruscant as too powerful, resulting in the many Alsakan Conflicts. Reflecting their views, the ancient Alsakani national epic, the Archaiad, described the Perlemian Trade Route as "an arrow sent into the possible". Seeking distance from authority, Alsakan's younger sons established small colonies in the Inner Rim, and cared little for government bureaucracy or mass-produced goods beyond warships and blasters. For much of their early history, the Alsakani did not adopt Old Galactic Standard and continued to speak High Galactic. They were responsible for popularizing the High Galactic alphabet as an alternative to Aurebesh, as part of Alsakan's efforts to portray itself as an alternate galactic capital. The High Galactic script was created after the Alsakani combined Tionese characters with others of their own invention, creating a distinctive new alphabet. Owing to Alsakan's values, High Galactic became a popular script among upper-class speakers of Galactic Basic, and its influence endured for millennia after the Alsakan Conflicts.
- #25Axum
Keys: Axum, Axum's
Axum was a temperate world located in the Axum system. It had two moons. The third planet in the Axum system, Axum was a terrestrial world orbited by two moons. Axum sat along the Perlemian Trade Route, with Alsakan being considered a stopover between Axum and Coruscant. A strong industrial world with a large population, Axum was one of the Core Worlds' mightiest urbanized worlds and dwarfed the industrial output of her sister planet Anaxes—an industrial powerhouse in its own right. Both Axum and Anaxes were well-known for manufacturing high-tech goods. The thirty-five thousand Brass Soldiers of Axum was a mysterious wonder on the planet. The Brass Soldiers of Axum were a mysterious collection of thirty-five thousand statues of soldiers. They were cast in solid brass and depicted the soldiers with expressions of pain and terror. According to legend, the statues originated as an actual pre-Republic army that was transmuted into brass via magic.
- #26Anaxes
Keys: Anaxes's, Anaxes', Anaxes
Anaxes was a fortress world located on the Perlemian Trade Route in the Axum system of the Core Worlds. Known as the "Defender of the Core", for millennia it was the site of the Republic Navy's primary fleet base and War College. It was considered the site of naval power, tradition and prestige by both the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire. Anaxes shared its sun, Solis Axum, with Selgon, Grastes, Axum, Urfon, Phlors Rex, Phlors Regina, and Ichium. The primary icon of power for not only Anaxes, but the Azure Imperium and Imperial Navy, was Anaxes Citadel, a massive complex of training schools, research labs, intelligence centers, offices, archives, and parade grounds that also served as the main governmental building on the planet. The terraced Sirpar Hills above the Citadel were dotted with estates held by families that may have not been Old Anaxsi, but whose names were synonymous with naval service. Sirpar Station was the dividing guard post between the Hills and the Citadel. The planet also gave its name to Anaxes Station, a space station near the planet, on the fringes of the Axum system. While not as industrialized as Axum, Anaxes was more prestigious, home to many families associated with a tradition of service in the Fleet. It was home to Azure Motorworks, a major producer of luxury vehicles. Considered an ecumenopolis, in that it was a planet-wide city, it was more reminiscent of a Green Coruscant, though, in that it was sprinkled with beautiful parks and green areas in and around the city like the Great Plain of Anaxes. Anaxes' industrial output was considered impressive relative to other systems, but it was much smaller than neighboring Axum's. Anaxes was also home to Keffis, which the resident Anaxsi bred for not only riding, but prestige. They were often used in areas deemed off-limits to most vehicles by the Anaxsi, such as the capital. The primary icon of power for not only Anaxes, but the ancient Azure Imperium and Imperial Navy, was Anaxes Citadel, a massive complex of training schools, research labs, intelligence centers, offices, archives, and parade grounds that also served as the main governmental building on the planet. The Anaxsi were the Human residents of Anaxes. They were fervently loyal to the Galactic Republic and later the Galactic Empire, and the planet was one large Imperial Navy training and staging ground. The Anaxsi were members of the Azure Imperium and Anaxes was the chief shipyard and fortress. Proud for their planet's prestige in naval tradition, the Anaxsi had closed social circles, and accepted outsiders only established experts in naval service.
- #27Ryloth
Keys: Ryloth, Ryloth's
Ryloth was a planet in the Ryloth system of the Outer Rim Territories, and the homeworld of the Twi'lek species. Its terrain varied, filled with jungles, mesas, valleys, and volcanoes, and had an atmosphere breathable for Twi'leks and humans alike. A forest, filled with dangerous predators, covered its equator. Given the varied and dangerous terrain, Twi'leks lived in caves underground where it was safer. A hot and humid world, Ryloth was located far out in the Outer Rim Territories, at grid square R-17 on the Standard Galactic Grid. Situated near the Corellian Run Super-hyperroute, far beyond the planets Tatooine and Geonosis, Ryloth sat towards the boundaries of Wild Space. The second in the three-world Ryloth system, Ryloth was located in the Gaulus sector. It was orbited by three moons, whose gravitational pull affected the planet dramatically. Rylothians celebrated the holiday called Longest Night when each of the three moons were at their lowest phase. Ryloth's geology was nothing if not diverse, possessing a multitude of mountain ranges, snow plains, lush temperate forests, and deserts, including the Jixuan desert, all of which were occupied by the planet's indigenous wildlife. A portion of the planet some distance from the Jixuan desert acted as breeding grounds for the gutkurr species. Much of Ryloth's wildlife was lethally dangerous and forced the native Twi'lek species to live in enclosed cave systems or in easily defended locations.
- #28Rothana
Keys: Rothana, Rothana's
Rothana was a remote planet in the Rothana system located in Quiberon sector, near the edge of the Outer Rim Territories and Wild Space, most famous for being the headquarters of Rothana Heavy Engineering and the source of military materiel for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. A snowy world with arctic terrain in Wild Space, Rothana's wildlife was adapted to the freezing conditions. The Rothanian arctic horny whelmer had a wide, squatting, sturdy stance that was mimicked in the design of the RHE All Terrain Tactical Enforcer. As the headquarters of Rothana Heavy Engineering, a subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards, the planet's economy was almost entirely based around shipbuilding and developing military vehicles. Rothana was surrounded by a vast honeycomb of orbital shipyards and drydocks for KDY's secret constructions. The planet was protected by a formidable KDY corporate-security starfleet. Rothana's isolation created an insular culture among the Rothanians, who developed an elaborate system of etiquette far too complicated for outsiders to mimic. This provided an additional layer of security against corporate espionage. The Rothanians were considered insular and strange even by Kuati standards.
- #29Mustafar
Keys: Mustafar's, Mustafar
Mustafar was a young, small planet located in the Mustafar system, within the Atravis sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. Mustafar was a young, small planet located in the Mustafar system, within the Atravis sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. Once a garden world nourished by the Bright Star artifact, its orbit was shifted when Lady Corvax unleashed the energies of the Bright Star in an attempt to return her husband to life. The resulting gravimetric duel between the gas giants Jestefad and Lefrani over Mustafar heated the planet's core, transforming the lush world into an imbalanced volcanic hellscape. Adapting to life on their devastated homeworld, the arthropodal Mustafarians evolved into two distinct subspecies that cooperated to ensure their continued survival. Mustafar served as the final redoubt of the Separatist Council until the newly-appointed Darth Vader, formerly Anakin Skywalker, was sent by Sidious to slaughter the council, effectively ending the Clone Wars. The Sith Lord was confronted by his wife, Padmé Amidala, and his former Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. The latter dueled Vader, defeating him and leaving him to burn on a lava bank. However, Vader was saved when Sidious arrived and carried him offworld. Mustafar then came under the ownership of the Galactic Empire after the Techno Union and its assets were nationalized. Sidious had new facilities built on the planet, where more Force-sensitive infants were taken and transformed into agents of the Inquisitorius. Resource extraction efforts on Mustafar were taken over by the Mining Guild, although strict Imperial travel restrictions on the system made it difficult for the guild to turn a profit and mining operations eventually ceased entirely. Black Sun also abandoned Mustafar for a more low profile world when the Empire established a garrison there. The Mustafarians resisted the Imperial occupation of their homeworld and attempted to drive them from Mustafar by launching multiple assaults on Fortress Vader. Mustafar was a young rocky planet within the eponymous system of the Atravis sector, in the Outer Rim Territories. It was a small world situated in grid square L-19 of the Standard Galactic Grid, and it lay on the Tosste Spur trade route, off the Rimma Trade Route. A part of the Western Reaches, Mustafar was located 53,000 light-years from the galaxy's Core. With an overlapping orbit, Mustafar was the third orbit of its system around the primary star Priate, completing a full rotation every 36 standard hours and a revolution around its sun every 412 local days, the equivalent of 618 standard days. It had a diameter of 4,200 kilometers, or 2,610 miles, and was a terrestrial world classed as a wasteland during the Imperial Era. Millennia before the Imperial Era, Mustafar became an unstable volcanic world with underground caves and free-flowing[37] lava constituting 35% of its[6] volatile[37] surface,[6] taking the form of lava seas,[16] rivers,[13] and pits[12] interspersed with glens, molten rock plains,[15] as well as obsidian mountain ranges[13] and shores.[2] Few areas were temperate enough to sustain life, and only a few landmasses were not fractured by tectonic disruption and magma flows; allowing lifeforms to evolve deep underground.[11] The tortured planet[6] was powerful in the dark side of the Force,[38] and, along with valuable mineral allotropes that surfaced from the planet core[35] as well as its obscurity to the wider galaxy, attracted various off-world interests that exploited the molten planet. Despite the planet's rugged and dangerous nature, there was a deadly beauty to the volcanic landscapes.
- #30Utapau
Keys: Utapau, Utapau's
Utapau was a remote, subterranean planet located deep in the Utapau system of the Tarabba sector in the Outer Rim Territories. Largely isolated from the wider galaxy, the planet was an ancient and windswept celestial body that was dotted by deep sinkholes, with societal organizations co-existing with its abundant animal and plant life, in a state reversed of that to other planets. Spanned by a world-reaching subterranean ocean, which created the countless hundreds-of-meters deep sinkholes that formed across the surface, the planet was colonized around 57,000 BBY by a humanoid species that genetically evolved into the Pau'an and Utai species, with the former creating civilizations across the grassy plains while the latter ventured and dwelled in the sinkholes. Sometime later, following the colonization, the surface world had become plagued by massive hyperwind storms as Utapau's environment shifted significantly, forcing the Pau'an civilizations to seek refuge alongside their fellow natives, where the two developed a symbiotic relationship and established several city-states, such as the capital of Pau City.
Although loosely governed by the politically dominant Utapaun Committee, rivaling city-states often engaged in regular battles and conflicts, in disagreements regarding resources and political gains. Eventually, however, the Utapaun Committee was able to unite Utapau, representing numerous city-states and overseeing planetary and interplanetary affairs. At some point, later on, Utapau became the adopted homeworld of both the Amani, from the planet Maridun, and the Sugi species. The technologically disadvantaged and isolationist tribes of Amani established villages and small communities in the bottom of sinkholes and across the wind-ravaged plains on the surface. An Outer Rim world located[1] deep in[23] the Utapau system,[1] Utapau had a temperate climate[8] and a rocky terrain[10] of desert plains and large sinkholes.[9] The planet had a population of 95 million.[12] Pau'ans and Utai were native to Utapau,[1] while the Amani had settled on the planet by the Clone Wars. The majority of Utapau's Amani lived deep underground.[15] Bands of Sugi also lived on the planet.[24]
Below Utapau's surface was the massive "world-ocean," a huge subterranean body of water. This water contained many powerful currents created by the tidal forces of Utapau's moons. These currents eroded the underside of the planet's crust and caused the formation of Utapau's many sinkholes and chasms, which, when combined with numerous storms, served to make the planet's surface inhospitable. One of Utapau's "continents" was more stable than the rest; for that reason, most Utapauns lived on that stabilized continent.[12]
Because of the lack of timber on the planet, Utapaun architecture was primarily constructed out of the bones of deceased animals. The bones of nearly all of the planet's fauna were used in construction, which later developed into a unique form of architecture known as ossic architecture. The skeletons of the huge animals that roamed the lower sinkholes and ocean had huge enough bones to be used as beams; other fossil bones were mined in caves.
- #31Garel
Keys: Garel's, Garel
Garel was a planet located in the Garel system of the Outer Rim Territories' Lothal sector that was controlled by the Galactic Empire. It was the homeworld of Imperial Supply Master Yogar Lyste. Garel was several minutes away from the planet Lothal via hyperspace travel. Garel was a rocky world with dry temperate deserts that was located within the Lothal sector of the Outer Rim Territories. It was known for its tall, wind-carved sedimentary rock formations, its purple twilight sky, and its cities built in large craters, such as Garel City. Garel served as a major shipping hub within the Lothal sector, though during the Imperial Era it was also home to several criminal organizations such as the Black Sun and the Broken Horn Syndicate. Due to its proximity to the planet Lothal, there was a large amount of trade and travel between the two worlds.
- #32Batuu
Keys: Batuuan, Batuuans, Batuuan's, Batuu's
Batuu was a remote terrestrial planet on the edge of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories, in the Batuu system of the Trilon sector. Batuu's surface was covered in jungles, oceans, and the petrified remains of ancient trees, referred to by the local Batuuans as "spires," which towered over the planet's landscapes. Millennia before the rise of the Galactic Empire and prior to the invention of hyperspace travel, Batuu was a popular stopping point for those traveling to Wild Space and the Unknown Regions. However, the opening of hyperspace routes caused the planet to be bypassed, resulting in the deterioration of the planet's reputation into that of a forgotten backwater world.
The largest settlement on the planet was the ancient trading post Black Spire Outpost. The world was also home to farming communities, such as Peka and Surabat, and the town of Galma, known for its mechanics.Batuu was a temperate planet that was located on the edge of[10] the Outer Rim Territories,[1] within the Trilon sector's Batuu system.[4] The planet orbited three suns—Ubaat I, Ubaat II, and Ubaat III.[7] The world was the location of Black Spire Outpost, a haven for those looking to avoid attracting too much attention to themselves.[10] Batuu's market stalls were known to have all sorts of items from all parts of the galaxy.Batuu was once host to massive trees, though the giants were destroyed during a cataclysm that devastated the planet's surface.[8] The remains of the trees became petrified gray and brown stone that towered over their surroundings and were referred to by local Batuuans as "spires."[13] Those spires became landmarks for settlers.[34] A smaller species of dark green conifers called Batuu trees grew in stony soil or clung to rocky surfaces across the planet.[3]
Golden Lichen was a native form of lichen that grew on many of the planet's towering spires and buildings. Nicknamed "gold dust," it was harvested for use as a cooking spice[35] and a clothing dye.Batuuans were the citizens of the planet Batuu.[2] Settlers of the planet came to eons before the time of the First Order, before lightspeed technology was widely available. While a thriving trading stop in early days, when major hyperspace routes bypassed the Batuu, it became an ideal place for people seeking a quiet life. Through the arrival of many species, Batuuans developed a friendly, open culture and melded their different traditions. They were known for their hospitality, exemplified by establishments such as Oga Garra's cantina.[3]
Batuaans used the phrase "Bright suns" as a morning's greeting, "Rising moons" as an evening's greeting and "Till the Spire" as an all-purpose farewell.

Eriadu was a terrestrial planet in the Eriadu system of the Seswenna sector in the Outer Rim, located on the Galactic Frontier. The planet featured terrain such as mountains and jungles, and had a black pall. The world's chief industry and export revolved around lommite ore, which was abundant. Eriadu was also the homeworld of the Tarkin family, including Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin. The people of Eriadu were known as the Eriaduans and had a reputation as hunters. Those who called Eriadu home included humans, such as the influential Tarkin family. Other species found on Eriadu hailed from the Mid Rim Territories and Outer Rim, including Ugnaughts and Rodians. Refugees and immigrants fled to Eriadu to escape intersystem conflicts or to find new lives during the late Republic Era. However, during Wilhuff Tarkin's time in power as governor, the Tarkin family carried out purges, deportations, and atrocities in the name of securing Eriadu's future, alleging that those immigrants were stealing their hard-won peace and ruining the economy by acting as "social parasites" or stealing jobs from "real" Eriaduans. Under the Galactic Empire, the non-humans of Eriadu were disproportionally discriminated against, with their preferred bars and cantinas a frequent site of Imperial shakedown raids. Meanwhile, the human TK-462 and likeminded Tarkin supporters believed the Empire was a stabilizing force that only targeted "terrorists" who were hiding something.Weathly Eriaduans tended to build their manisons in the style of the Core Worlds. For example, the influential Tarkin family maintained an elegant compound of that style in Eriadu City. All the same, Wilhuff Tarkin's father made sure to teach his son how their clan had achieved such a lofty position, reminding him that there were those beyond its walls who struggled to make due. During the Imperial Era, Wilhuff also made use of a fortified compound named Raven's Peak, where Tarkin could hold secretive meetings during the early Imperial Era. However, such meetings made it the targets of anti-Imperial forces.

- #36Umbara
Keys: Umbara, Umbara's
Umbara, known as the "Shadow World" due to the lack of sunlight on its surface, was a planet located within the Expansion Region. The planet was also an exporter of doonium, a metal utilized in the construction of starships.During the Clone Wars, the planet was initially part of the Galactic Republic before seceding to join the Confederacy of Independent Systems. It proceeded to host one of the larger battles of the Clone Wars and eventually fell to the Republic. After the fall of the Republic, the planet fell under the power of the Galactic Empire.Umbara was a planet in the Expansion Region that experienced no sunlight on its surface, earning it the name "Shadow World." Situated within the occluding Ghost Nebula sector, Umbara was cut off from the rest of the galaxy. This resulted in the development of advanced technologies that far exceeded the galactic standard by the native Umbarans.[1]
Umbara sported a terrain of overgrown jungles[5] with a variety of predatory animal and plant life.[1][13] The plant life on Umbara was particularly aggressive, and bioluminescence was a common trait, found in both Zabrak Spines and death's embrace.[14] Umbara also had large doonium reserves, which led to the emergence of a substantial mining and refining sector in its economy. The planet was also known to have several moons including an outermost one.Zabrak Spines were a species of[2] tree[1] that grew on the planet Umbara, a world on which it was constantly night.[2] The plant was much taller than a human and consisted of a wide black trunk with multiple branches rising from its top.[3] Each branch ended in a bioluminescent red spike. The plant shared its name with the Zabrak species,[2] who were native to the planet Iridonia.Death's embrace was a species of large tentacled plant native to the planet Umbara, a world where it was eternally night.[1] Each of the plant's tentacles was black in color with bioluminescent ridges along one side.[2] The ridges could be pink[3] or red in color, and sometimes faded to gray before lighting up again. The plant grew amongst forests of Zabrak Spines and could grow far larger than a human.[2] It was a particularly aggressive plant, and few had escaped the embrace of its tendrils.
- #37Mandalore
Keys: Mandalore's, Mandalore
Mandalore was a planet located in the Outer Rim Territories. It was the homeworld of the Mandalorians, a fearsome warrior clan-based people, and the indigenous Alamite species. The Mandalorians once fought the Jedi and raided their temple during the fall of the Old Republic. Wearing distinctive armor that was often made from beskar, they were feared throughout the galaxy, and once had political influence over two thousand other star systems.
Many years of war left the planet inhospitable, forcing the Mandalorians to live within domed cities. Mandalore was a terrestrial planet[5] located in the Mandalore system,[3] a part of the Mandalore sector[1] in the New Territories[2] portion of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was positioned at the coordinates O-7[4] on the Standard Galactic Grid[30] with the closest trade route to the world being the Hydian Way. Mandalore occupied the fifth orbit around its eponymous yellow sun[5] and had a rotational period of nineteen standard hours,[8] and its standard year lasted three hundred and sixty-six standard days.[9] The planet possessed standard gravity and two moons,[5] including the one time mining base and agricultural center, Concordia.[6]
The planetary surface was once lush with jungles,[5] forests,[13] seas,[5] mountains,[14] and jewel-colored lakes,[13] but was eventually transformed into a lifeless desert,[5] with hot and dry climate, though was hospitable enough to hold life and let a race of people thrive.
- #38Abafar
Keys: Abafar's, Abafar
Abafar was a remote desert planet located within the Outer Rim Territories, and was host to massive amounts of rhydonium, a scarce and volatile fuel source. The large desert was known as the Void, and light was twisted in a way by the strange regolith that made it impossible to see tracks because there were no shadows. The planet wasn't very populated only having a couple villages scattered around the planet.[6] During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure had a drilling platform on Abafar to mine rhydonium.Abafar was located in the Abafar system of the Quelii sector within the Outer Rim Territories.[1] Its primary terrain was a desert known as the Void due to properties of the planet's atmosphere and surface regolith that made it impossible to see the sun or any tracks left on the ground, making it extremely easy to get lost[4][3] amongst the barren flats.[10] Known fauna included the Void striders, reptavian creatures that traversed the Void in search of surface water.[3] Outside of Void striders, Abafar had limited biodiversity, with bugs being some of the only other species present.[2] Abafar's primary resource was its valuable and highly explosive rhydonium fuel.[Void striders were nimble reptavian creatures with long, spindly legs and tall, thin necks that dwelled on the planet Abafar.[4] Standing at just over one meter tall, they roamed in herds across the Void in search of water, which they detected using their hypersensitive sonar system. After sensing a water source, herds of Void striders would sprint for sometimes days on end to reach it. Void striders had excellent capillary systems that allowed this behavior to be possible. They could hold in water for days on end, giving them time to locate more. A Void strider's hide acted as a solar panel, collecting energy to power them for their long runs. Average height 1.83 meters[1] Skin color Orange and white[3]

Arkania was the homeworld of the Arkanian species. It was covered with tundra and rich in diamonds and other precious minerals, which the Arkanians mined to further their offworld connections and master their technology. Arkanian cities were designed to keep the cold out and were mostly completely enclosed. Off-world visitors rarely had to deal with the frigid conditions of the planet. Many citizens were miners.A harsh world of tundra and ice, Arkania was able to sustain life and civilization despite the harsh climate. Deep underground, the planet was filled with diamond stores considered extremely valuable by those on the surface, resulting in the excavation of extensive mines across the world. As a result of life on the frigid planet, the Arkanians would develop infrared vision over the course of their evolution. Root vegetables were a staple crop on Arkania.

Nar Shaddaa, nicknamed the "Smuggler's Moon," was the notorious moon of the planet Nal Hutta, homeworld of the Hutt species. It was home to a large criminal underworld dominated by bounty hunters and Hutt crime lords. An ecumenopolis, the entire surface of Nar Shaddaa was covered in urban sprawl.Nar Shaddaa was the largest moon of the planet Nal Hutta, which was located in the Hutt Space region of the Outer Rim Territories.[20] An ecumenopolis, its surface was covered entirely in urban sprawl. Its city lights were visible from space.[2] The capital of Nar Shaddaa was Hutta Town, which was made up of huge tower blocks with a patchwork of shanty town structures called skyslums filling every available space between the towers.By the time of the Galactic Civil War, Nar Shaddaa had a reputation as a haven for pirates and outlaws.[2] Seen as a negative version of the ecumenopolis Coruscant, Nar Shaddaa was known for being polluted and possibly one of the most dangerous places in the galaxy, as its inhabitants embraced almost every sort of illegal activity with almost no interference from law enforcement or officials of any galactic government.[20] The Rebel Alliance considered the moon so dangerous that they regarded even sending a covert team there as suicide. The Hutt Clan controlled Nar Shaddaa, but maintained only the lightest touch in governing the population, ensuring only that they got a cut from a deal or transaction on the moon. The majority of beings on the moon understood that staying on the good side of the Hutts was essential to surviving on Nar Shaddaa, although it was far from guaranteed safety. Unofficially, the different territories on the moon were divided between various Hutt crime lords as well as other criminal cartels or gangs. The Hutts of Nal Hutta conducted almost all of their offworld dealings on Nar Shaddaa, meaning there were few visitors to the planet itself.
- #41Lola Sayu
Keys: Lola Sayu's, Lola Sayu
Lola Sayu was a volcanic and sulfurous planet located within the Lola Sayu system of the Outer Rim Territories' Belderone sector. Appearing with a beautiful purple glow from its orbit, the planet had suffered an unknown event that caused its molten core to be exposed, and continued to slowly fall apart for several millennia afterwards, before its discovery by the Galactic Republic. Following its Republic discovery, in 522 BBY, the galactic government and the Jedi Order constructed a maximum-security prison known as the Citadel to hold rogue Jedi. Although a Republic world for centuries, Lola Sayu's allegiance eventually shifted after being captured by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars fought between the two factions. After the end of the war, the Citadel was rumored by individuals to have been cursed and haunted. However, an old garrison of Separatist battle droids continued to operate within the facility, led by a malfunctioning droid acting on an adjusted final directive to target all Force-sensitives.Orbiting a single star,[3] Lola Sayu was a volcanic,[7] decaying but terrestrial planet located in the northeast section of the galaxy,[3] in the Lola Sayu system of the Outer Rim Territories' Belderone sector.[1] Situated in grid square R-6 on the Standard Galactic Grid, the planet was located near the [2] the western side[3] of the super-hyperroute[10] known as the Perlemian Trade Route, which connected the sulfurous world to the astronomical objects of Aralia and Lianna. Additionally, Lola Sayu was also situated just off the Salin Corridor, where it would junction to[2] the planets[11][12] Quell and Sy Myrth.[2] In its orbit, due to an unknown cataclysmic event that caused Lola Sayu's cracked state, the planet's gravitational field was littered with planetary debris that continuously floated its orbit and made spatial approaches difficult and dangerous.[3]
From its orbit and outer space, Lola Sayu appeared with a beautiful purple glow that was created from[3] the brittle volcanic crust[7] of its northern side. Meanwhile, on its surface, the planet was dotted with caves, crevasses, hills and mountains, alongside river-like cracks that spanned to where the crust ended at its destroyed southern hemisphere, while also glowing with the heat of the lava from the planet's exposed molten core. However, the surface was also extremely treacherous and unpredictable, with several roads perilously closing in on the edges of lava flows that came from[3] the southern side's vast Sulfur Sea,[7] often leading travelers to labyrinth cave systems or dangerously steep valleys. In addition to its harsh conditions, water was relatively scarce on Lola Sayu and neither plant or animal life were known to exist on the planet's surface. Despite the planet's inherent fragility, Lola Sayu was habitable and life-supporting to an extent, holding a breathable, oxygen-mixed yet thin atmosphere on its northern side,[3] that was suitable for species such as humans, Phindian and Togruta.Prior to its discovery by the Galactic Republic, the Outer Rim world known as Lola Sayu was plagued by a cataclysmic event. In its aftermath, nearly the entire southern hemisphere of the planet had disappeared, forming a gravitational belt of planetary debris in its orbit as its surface continued to slowly fall apart over millennia. However, exactly what caused Lola Sayu's state was undetermined by the galaxy and was likely never going to uncovered. Despite its broken state, though, the planet retained a precarious ability to sustain terrestrial life on its northern side and was eventually discovered by the Republic[3] by the time of 522 BBY,[13] who decided to utilize Lola Sayu's surface for a grim purpose.

Keys: Dac's, Dac, Mon Cala's, Mon Cala
Mon Cala, also known as Dac, was an oceanic planet located in the Mon Calamari system, a binary star system positioned in the Calamari sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories and The Slice.
Home to two sentient aquatic species, the industrious Mon Calamari and the prideful Quarren, Mon Cala was known for its shipbuilding industry, which produced beautiful and unique starships for various purposes such as pleasure cruises and deep-space exploration. The Mon Calamari ran the Mon Calamari Shipyards company, and the Quarren ran the Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps. The planet was governed by a monarchy with the King of Mon Cala holding the title of ruler. The king also led the Mon Cala planetary defense services and was the judge in the Court Of Justice. The ruler was also tasked with keeping the fragile peace between the Mon Calamari and Quarren intact while ruling over the planet. The waterworld named Mon Cala was located in the Mon Calamari system[3] of the Calamari sector in the Outer Rim Territories.[1] The planet was situated in the eastern region of the galaxy known as The Slice.[2] A moon orbited the planet with no atmosphere and a barren terrain.[7] Mon Cala was in the Standard Galactic Grid square U-6.The oceans of Mon Cala held an abundance of life, including two influential sentient species;[28] the peaceful Mon Calamari and the more bellicose Quarren species.[6] Both species preferred to build their cities underwater,[28] but there also existed some cities built on the surface of the water.[29] The planet was ruled by a single monarch. Despite their differences, the two peoples had generally shown mutual respect throughout their history.Coral grew in large colonies on Mon Cala, with their hard skeletons forming coral reefs that acted as shelter and feeding and breeding grounds for various species of fish, crustaceans, and other sea life. The coral tended to thrive in areas bathed in the light of Mon Cala's twin suns, but some hardier species dwelt out of the light deep below the surface. In these deep sea beds of limited light, bioluminescence was a common trait for plants.Although sparce, small islands dotted the surface of Mon Cala, with many of these islands forming archipelagos. The terrain of these islands ranged from[30] rocky cliffs,[16] to sandy beaches with dense jungle.[30] The polar regions were colder then the rest of the planet with ice floes located in the north.[23] Some Quarren and Mon Calamari left their homeworld to avoid its politics, instead settling the moon of Trask.Mon Cala was ruled by a monarchy lead by a king. The king was the Supreme Commander of the Mon Cala planetary defense services and held political authority over the planet. While having authority over the military and politics, the king was also given the duty of keeping the peace between the Mon Calamari and Quarren people, who had always kept a fragile peace. The Court Of Justice was the court and the judicial branch of the Mon Cala monarchy. The cases would be brought before the king in the Royal Throne Chamber who would act as the judge. During the trials, each side would be allowed to argue their case before the king made a final decision. The king also lead the Mon Cala's military force which consisted of an army[3] and a navy.[52] Traditionally the king fought alongside his troops on the battlefield, providing the troops with heightened moral. In the army, both Quarren and Mon Calamari could serve. The Mon Calamari Guard served as the personal troops for the monarchy and consisted of Mon Calamari troopers. Quarren also formed their own divisions including the Quarren warriors who fought alongside the Mon Calamari. The navy consisted of the Mon Cala Mercantile Fleet which was unarmed but could be turned into a military asset. During the Empire's occupation, the fleet was armed and transformed into warships known as the "Mon Cala Exodus Fleet".[52] The mercantile fleet was restored as the "Mon Cala Imperial Trade Fleet" under control of the Empire.[12] Many of these ships became part of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and were used throughout the Galactic Civil War.Much of the Mon Cala population lived in great cities underwater,[3] which was perferred by both Quarren and Mon Calamari.[28] Despite this, many cities did breach the surface including such settlements like Dac City.[8] Many of the cities consisted of city-ships that served as buildings in the city but could be used as a ship.[23] Cities such as Mon Cala city used a network of tubes to allow for access from location to location throughout the city. The large coral would also form around cities like the capital with the city-ships built around them.[3]
Mon Cala city served as the capital of Mon Cala that the king would reside and rule from. The capital also held a city square[3] and a central planetary scanner mast.[24]
Other settlements included Dac City with held a palace that the King would rule from.[8] Like parts of Dac City, New Coral City was a rare city located above water.[22] Towns could also be found on Mon Cala including Quarren Town which was located in the depths of the ocean,[3] and Zeran Town which was located in the northern regions of the planet. In the depths of the ocean lied a trench named the Great Ungeness Trench, which was home to a large squid-like creature. After the Battle of Dac City, Darth Vader sunk to the trench where he did battle with the great creature.[9]
The Sacred Arena of Salka'a was an arena located between islands used during the Ancient Rite of Challenge. The arena was made out of stone, using stone pillars for the perimeter and as stands for the audience. There was also a viewing deck for the king to enjoy the gladiator fights. Many Mon Calamari greats were remembered at the Mourning Shrines, an underwater memorial consisting of large statues of these Mon Calamari. The shrines were surrounded by coral and a habitat for eels. One could place a shell in the mouth of the statues, where it is believed that the soul was kept in.

The rings of the planet consisted of purrgil bones, as members of the species came to Peridea to die.Peridea was a planet located in the distant far galaxy, far away from the one presided over by the New Republic. The planetary surface, barren from war, was occupied by vast wastelands including grasslands, plains, lakes, and meadows, while its atmosphere was breathable to humans, Chiss, Togruta, and Dathomirian Zabraks. It had a massive ring made up of the bones of purrgil surrounding it, as the creatures came to the planet to die.Peridea was the homeworld of the Noti species, who moved around in mobile settlements to avoid the dangers, and the wastes were populated by Howlers as well as a species of small reptavian native to the planet. There were also roaming groups of bandits who preyed on the lonesome stragglers who had ventured off onto the surface.[1]
A significant portion of the planet's culture revolved around the ancient Witch Kingdom of the Dathmiri. Several towering statues depicting those who originally populated the planet dotted the landscape.Peridea's native inhabitants were the Noti and the bandits. The Noti were a species of small sentient nomads with rock-like shells on their backs they used for hiding. They lived in mobile pod-shaped homes which they drove around the planet in tight-knit communities[1] to avoid the surface's dangers and were known to be very peaceful, using only primitive weapons, such as slingshots.[9]
The bandits were tall humanoids who moved around in the backs of native howlers,[1] forming hunting parties to attack Noti communities. They were armed with a variant of blaster rifles and wore red armor, with hunting party leaders also wearing large decorated helmets.

Serenno was a planet located in the Outer Rim Territories' D'Astan sector, covered in lush forests, mountains and plains. Serenno was named after its ruling family, House Serenno. During the Clone Wars, it was aligned with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the leader of which was the Serenno-born Count Dooku. In the Imperial Era, the planet was occupied by the Galactic Empire.Serenno was a terrestrial[6] planet located in the D'Astan sector's Serenno system in the Outer Rim Territories, in grid square P-5 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Serenno orbited a singular star[4] and was orbited by two moons, including the moon of Mantero.[3]
The planet sat at a prime point along a maze of key hyperspace lanes, close to the planet Toprawa and the Corporate Sector that lay to the northeast, at the very start of the Hydian Way super-hyperroute. To the east sat the vast Gordian Reach and, within it, the Yavin system, while Mandalorian space lay south. A direct route down the Hydian Way to Brentaal IV would mean a short jump across to the planet Coruscant and the galactic seat of power. It was also situated along the Spurs of Celanon. Its surface was covered in forests,[9] including lush rainforests, and mountain ranges.[4] One particular area was the upper forest region.[9] Also present within its geography were savannas, which gave way to rivers that spilled into oceans.[4] Serenno silver was a type of metal that shared its name with the world.[12] The plains of the world hid seams of sacanium that were discovered during the Invasion of Serenno. Many animal species lived on the planet such as spikebats, spine-wolves,Serennians were a cultural group of humans native to the planet Serenno. A remote world of swamps and forests, it served as a refuge for Jedi Grand Master Yoda during his exile after the destruction of the Jedi Order.Dagobah was a planet located in the Sluis sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was a hot and humid world that was a hotbed of life,[10] with the Tash species[14] and numerous creatures—such as bogwings, dragonsnakes, butcherbugs, sleens, vine snakes, and swamp slugs[9]—living on world.Dagobah was a planet located in the Sluis sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was a hot and humid world that was a hotbed of life,Dagobah was a mysterious, mist-shrouded, swampy planet, mostly covered in swamps and bogs, interspersed with countless shallow lakes and lagoons and multiple living caves. The continental and oceanic crusts of Dagobah were only vaguely defined, and there was little in the way of volcanic activity or earthquakes. Examples of flora included the lahdia plant, the yoghurt plant, gnarltree, and yarum seed. The planet was devoid of any cities.Among the purest locations in the entire galaxy within the energy field known as the Force,[18] it shared a mysterious time-related quality with such locales as Mortis and Ahch-To.The Cave of Evil was a vergence aligned with the dark side of the Force on Dagobah.[21] The Cave was able to expand its influence across Dagobah until Yoda's arrival, which created a powerful presence in the light side of the Force that kept the Cave in check.Dagobah had two seasons, a dry season and a wet season. During the peak of the long dry season (over half an orbit after the rains end) the uplands become too hot for most lifeforms to survive, necessitating any that live there to migrate to the lower lands. Beneath the rapidly leafing canopies of the gnarltrees that emerge from the receding green and thick waters, the once-inundated lowlands revert back to a marshy swamp once again. As the air grows more humid, the gray overcast clouds return and before another quarter orbit passes the planet is far enough away from its sun that the dry season ends and the rains return, again flooding the lowlands and covering the trees in water, making the uplands habitable once more.Dagobah was the homeworld of the Tash species, who grew herbs.[14] Jedi Grand Master Yoda made his way to Dagobah and adopted it[27] as his homeworld during the Imperial Era.[4] Another being of sorts on Dagobah was the so-called Cave of Evil, a living Force vergence[26] strong in the dark side,[4] but confined to its place on the planet.
- #48Ord Mantell
Keys: Ord Mantell, Ord Mantell's
Ord Mantell was a planet of the galaxy's Mid Rim that served as the capital of the Bright Jewel system. It was the homeworld of the Mantellian Savrip species. Ord Mantell was colonized around 12,000 BBY by Corellian settlers during the expansion of the Galactic Republic, where it became an Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost. In the waning days of the Republic, Ord Mantell City housed a base of operations for the Black Sun crime syndicate. It later came under control of the Galactic Empire and became home to an Imperial deepdock.Ord Mantell was the terrestrial capital planet of the Bright Jewel system[4] at grid square L-7 on the Standard Galactic Grid,[3] and was the second planet to orbit the blue star Bright Jewel. Orbited by at least fifteen moons,[4] including the moon of Quantxi,[5] Ord Mantell was 14,050 kilometers in diameter and served as the sector capital for the Mid Rim's Bright Jewel sector, which in turn was the capital for the Bright Jewel Oversector.[4] In close proximity to the gas giant Wynkahthu,[22] Ord Mantell was situated in the northern New Territories portion of the Mid Rim, lying on a cross-section between the Bright Jewel, Qiilura and Dohu sectors along the Celanon Spur,[4] Burke's Trailing[6] and Entralla hyperspace routes.[4] The Burke's Trailing hyperspace route connected the planet to the moon of Jedha in the nearby Terrabe sector.[6]
A planet of temperate climate, Ord Mantell maintained a breathable Type I atmosphere and standard gravity, and it presented a pinkish hue when viewed from space as a result of its thick clouds, which littered its skies. On the surface, every landmass on Ord Mantell was dotted with mountain chains, but its population of four billion lived on its arid equatorial continents amid the foothills of its mountains and plains. Ord Mantell was home to many different species, with no single one representing more than five percent of the planet's population. After its colonization, Ord Mantell became the homeworld of a variety of different species—commonly referred to as Mantellians—and no particular species on Ord Mantell represented more than five percent of its total population.[4] The planet was also home to the Mantellian Savrip, a species whose appearance was used for a holographic piece in the game of dejarik. It was also inhabited by Bith,[11] Falleen, and humans.Ord Mantell was ruled by a planetary government of which was led by several governors. The planet's governors and representatives were no strangers to Ord Mantell's illicit activities that happened frequently across the planet, and were known to accept bribes or turn a blind eye to them. The Mantellian courts also respected the rights of bounty hunters, viewing them as a free-market approach to law enforcement on the planet. As a result of the planet's lawlessness, Ord Mantell helped in the rise of a thriving gambling and entertainment industry. Along the Worlport continent's southern coast, a series of cities provided the necessary services for gambling and other games. The cities were modern and billions of tourists who traveled from the Core could expect to find any luxury to which they were accustomed in their home region. Of the planet's casinos, the most popular was Lady Fate Casino; however, more professional gamblers were found in the side streets and alley casinos such as the Chance Cube, Throw Me a Bone, or Lucky Detooa's in the city of Savroia. Several of the casinos had the highest payouts along the Celanon Spur.[Ord Mantell's surface was home to several cities, such as the capital city of Worlport,[4] Ord Mantell City,[19] Freelonn, and Savroia, all of which were known for their fringe activities. The planet's open markets sold nearly everything, and nothing was ever truly illegal on Ord Mantell. Its coastal cities, including Worlport, seduced visitors into spending their credits at the casinos' gambling tables. Cities on the planet's outskirts were much less developed, littered with outstretched junkyards, mountains, and mines. Small fishing communities existed along the continental shores, which preferred not to interact with outlanders. Mantellian Savrips[2] were a semi-sentient,[1] but technologically primitive, reptilian species from the planet Ord Mantell whose appearance was used for one of the holographic pieces in the game dejarik.[2] Large in size,[5] they had gray skin and horned heads with red eyes, attached to their upper torsos by long necks partially covered in strands of orange hair.[3] Mantellian Savrips had a pair of long, powerful arms that terminated in claw-tipped, four-fingered hands and two short legs with three-toed feet.[6] Although Mantellian Savrips had a humanoid body with only two legs, they tended to often move on all fours in a bent posture, by using their long arms, that reached the ground, like two extra legs.[7] These brutes seemed to delight in brawling.

Ghorman was a Colonies planet located in the Sern sector’s Ghorman system along the Rimma Trade Route. The planet was known for its streamlined high-quality silk and twill industy, and it was considered a rite of passage for new fashion designers to visit the planet. Much of the population worked in the silk and twill industry, and the planet's people, the Ghor, took pride in their language and their culture.
During the Imperial Era, the planet Ghorman came under indirect rule of the Galactic Empire following the Tarkin Massacre, and Imperial forces maintained a small presence there. Nevertheless, Imperial control tightened over the planet, leading to the Ghorman Debates on the Imperial policy around Ghorman and its people in 5 BBY.
Eventually, Director Orson Callan Krennic gained interest in the planet due to a rich presence of deep substrate foliated kalkite deposits, a requirement for the Emperor's "energy project." To facilitate the ability for Imperial forces to mine the planet, an invasive process which had a chance to render the planet unstable, ISB supervisor Dedra Meero was given direct control of the planet.
As a direct result of heavy Imperial control, including an intense propaganda campaign facilitated by the Ministry of Enlightenment, in 2 BBY, a peaceful protest took place against Imperial oppression. However, the demonstration ended in bloodshed, with Imperial troops and droids slaughtering thousands of protesters. The incident became known as the Ghorman Massacre.Ghorman was a terrestrial planet[6] located in the Ghorman system[4] of the Sern sector[3] within an intersecting portion of the Interior[2] and the Colonies regions. Situated at the coordinates L-13 on the Standard Galactic Grid, the world fell between the[1] planets[19][20] Giju and Thyferra along the Rimma Trade Route.[1][21] Under the planet's surface, there were large amounts of deep substrate foliated kalkite. In addition to the planet's capital city Palmo, there existed at least eight other cities. The planet was divided into nine provinces. The residents of Ghorman were known by the same name.[15] Much of the population worked in the Ghorman silk and twill industry, and many Ghormans took pride in their language and their culture.[5][10][8] Following the Ghorman massacre, multiple Ghormans went on to join the rebellion. The Ghormans, or the Ghor for short, were a cultural group of Humans from the Colonies planet Ghorman.[3]
Most of the Ghor were dedicated to the silk and twill industry and took great pride in their culture and language,[3] as well as the geography of their planet, as demonstrated in their planetary anthem, We Are the Ghor.
Kalkite was a mineral useful in coating reactor lenses. It could be found on the planet Ghorman in deep substrate foliated deposits. By 4 BBY, the Galactic Empire enacted efforts to declare martial law on the planet in order to extract the kalkite and use it in the construction of the Death Star superweapon. These efforts resulted in the Ghorman Massacre of 2 BBY in order to declare martial law and strip mine Ghorman.Kalkite was a mineral that could be used to coat reactor lenses to help generate vast amounts of energy.[1] A valuable form of kalkite[2] was unique to the planet Ghorman in deep substrate foliated deposits.
Culvers[2] were a type of small bird found on the planet Ghorman. They had white feathers with patches of brown and black. They could puff out their necks and would sometimes eat food left behind by patrons at the Palmo Plaza in the capital city Palmo.
Ghorlectipods, also known as Ghorman spiders, were a species of spiders found on the planet Ghorman and known for their silk. The Ghorlectipod was an arachnid native to the planet Ghorman. They were large, blue spiders, that were the primary source for the fiber used in the production of luxurious Ghorman twill. Ghorman spiders spun their webs from dawn to dusk. Forty billion ghorlectipods were housed in webberies across Ghorman, where they spun enough fiber to process 60 million bolts of Ghorman twill every season.

Geonosis, referred to as Geonosia by some natives, was the desert home planet of the Geonosians. It hosted the Confederacy of Independent Systems major battle droid foundries and was the site of the First Battle of Geonosis, the opening conflict of the Clone Wars, as well as the subsequent invasion by the Galactic Republic. During and after the war, the Death Star was constructed above the planet. Five years after the conflict's conclusion and transformation of the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire would garrison the planet heavily and attempt to mine the planet's asteroids for minerals. At least five years after the Clone Wars, the Empire moved the Death Star to another construction site and the planet was sterilized by the Empire as a security measure, an act which resulted in the virtual elimination of the planet's native population.Situated in the Geonosis system of the Arkanis sector in the Outer Rim Territories,[1] the planet of Geonosis was 43,000 light years from the Galactic Core,[4] and less than a parsec away from the neighboring Outer Rim planet of Tatooine. It was the homeworld of the Geonosians, a species of sentient insectoids. It had a breathable atmosphere,[16] but a hot and arid climate.[22] Its irradiated[15][21] surface was covered in harsh, rocky deserts, marked by mesas and buttes. Both its rocks and sky were tinted in shades of red.[16] Surface water was scarce, amounting to only 5% of the entire total planetary surface. However, Geonosis had frequent flash floods. From space, it could be seen that Geonosis had awe-inspiring rocky rings. The planet was orbited by fifteen moons, four of which were major and included the icy moon of Bahryn. At some point in the ancient history of Geonosis, a comet crashed in one of the planet's many moons. The collision debris not only formed the famous rings of Geonosis, but also formed a field of small asteroids which would sometimes rain down on the planet's surface.
