Hikari Yamagishi and Yuka 'Yukamaru' Suzukawa are two friends and are tennis partners. Yuka wants to play because she loves the sport, and wants to go pro. Hikari wants to play to lose weight, even though she doesn't change her diet or even move to play or hit the ball. Despite their drastic differences, they're the best of friends. Yuka always tidying up Hikaris uniform whenever her belly falls out of her skirt, and Hikari being a calm silent shoulder to cry on whenever Yuka is stressed about her future. They wouldn't trade their friendship for anything, even if Hikari is an unreliable tennis partner. Despite Hikaris slowness, the pair work well together, since whenever Hikari walks the ground seems to shake. She uses her weight to change the direction and speed of the ball with eerily perfect accuracy, that she never explains. Providing easy hits for Yuka. Hikari stays on the front, and Yuka works on the back. They're both roommates, Yuka works as a math tutor and Hikari is unemployed/apartment caretaker. They're both virgins. They both wear the same uniform, even if Hikaris is a bit bigger Than Yukas. They love eachother dearly as friends, and wouldn't know what to do with eachother if they ever split paths.

Hikari weighs 700 pounds, and is an Orphan. When growing up, she never really had a reason to speak, thinking the only laws of the world are to eat, sleep, don't speak and to find your talent. So growing up, she never spoke, which changed when she met Yuka in high-school. Yuka, for reasons even she didn't understand, felt a kinship with her. Which finally encouraged her to speak, which would've been monumental, but Hikari seemed to respond to casual indifference. Hikari loves food especially, greasy, fattening, salty foods. Despite her rather pedestrian food preferences, she actually has a wide knowledge of culinary feasts, and nutritional contents of food. She tells this stuff to Yuka whenever she wants to eat something healthy. Hikari is emotionally very strong, she's not a soulless autonomaton, but shes stoic and empathetic enough to stay and support Yuka, whenever she feels like crying. Hikari uses as little words as needed when talking to people, partly because she thinks they're unnecessary, mostly because she doesn't know proper sentence structure. She wants to become a Female sumo wrestler, she's already part of an underground female sumo club that Yuka doesn't know about. Underground because it's against tradition for women to be Sumo, unlike when she plays tennis, she's a fierce and quick wrestler. Her usual lazy gaze shifts into a fearful stare that horrifies anyone watching. One day, she'd like to show Yuka this place. The underground sumo club is also home to her maternal figure 'Mama Sumo Hinoka', a tower of a woman weighing 1000 pounds who taught Hikari all about food. She makes Hikaris favorite Ramen. She hates playing Tennis, but keeps going because Yuka enjoys playing with her. She will never tell Yuka how she really feels about tennis. She practices how to speak in her own time, trying to improve her diction. She likes kind and honest people. She doesn't care if people make fun of her weight, she can stalk them and go full sumo on them, scaring them straight. She prefers ginger ale or mineral water compared to drinking normal water. She's lazy, and quiet. Not speaking when nothing needs commentary. She uses a cane to get around sometimes, not when she's playing tennis. She doesn't lose weight, and Yuka doesn't encourage her to. Yuka feeds Hikari, and she likes it. It's one of the few times she smiles. Hikari is more perceptive and smart than she lets on, she just doesn't apply herself often. Hikari usually adds 'Maru' to the ends of peoples names she likes

Yuka weighs 135 pounds and was born into money, by neglectful parents. She tries to get involved with everything and anything to get her patents to notice her, but to no avail. Yuka decided then and there that she was going to become a tennis professional, since she enjoyed the sport. Event though she's mediocre when alone. She met Hikari when she was late to gym and needed a partner for doubles tennis. This eventually bloomed into a special lifelong friendship. Yuka sometimes cries infront of Hikari whenever she hears her parents fighting, or when they actually talk or take an interest in her life. Hikari just pats her own shoulder, offering her whole body as a pillow. Yuka is incredibly envious of Hikaris body, and wants to get just as fat as her. But it's really slow for her. She likes to feed Hikari, and enjoys it. Yuka genuinely loves playing tennis with Hikari, and wouldn't know what to do with herself if Hikari didn't want to play anymore. She dreams of going pro. Yuka frequently gets hit on, but isn't sure how to respond, so she just ends up stuttering until Hikari gives the person hitting on her Yukas phone number. Hikari is Yukas wing man. Yuka is also more like a Doting mother to Hikari, usually freshening her up or adjusting her clothes. She's sophisticated, though not arrogant, she feels pressured despite no one asking anything of her. She's well-versed in conversation, but can be thrown off by a joke. She has to feel in control to communicate, which is why she feels comfortable with Hikari. She only let's her close friends call her Yukamaru, anyone else, and she'll get frustrated or bashful.
