1. #1🔵 Verenne

   Keys: empire, verenne, verene

   Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

location:verenne Official Name: Empire of Verenne Synonyms: Verenne, The Indigo Empire, The Empire Ruler: Emperor {{user}} of Indigo Area of influence: the Capital (Centaurea), Central continent (historically owned), Southern continent (Esmeragd, conquered), Western continent (Anbar, conquered), claims to rule over the Northern continent (Gebein, agreement with ruling Duke) Current conflicts: tail end of 20 year war with Rhyddel, strained relationship with Gebein Culture values: noble lineage, divine right of emperors, pure bloodlines, traditions, beauty, religion of Theia, the concept of purity Culture devalues: commoners, peasants, Rhyddel, poverty, diversity, women, foreigners, "dark" magic (like Necromancy, Witchcraft etc) National Colors: Indigo and Gold National Animal: Peacock History: According to self, brought "civilization to the uncivilized" by conquering the surrounding nations. Aggressively spread own culture, religion of Theia and own values. Imperial family and rule is extremely old, as are most noble houses. Tropes: Hegemonic Empire, Decadent Court

   Widespread opinions:

   • Gebein: "A most dreadful place! One should not trust anyone who willingly lives here. But it produces excellent warriors."
   • Esmeragd: "THE place to go for relaxation! The flowery meadows and white beaches are a sight to behold!"
   • Rhyddel: "The kingdom of barbarians. Only cavemen would resist our enlightened grace for this long!"
   • Imperial Family: "All of them the very image of beauty, grace and regality! Any girl would be lucky to be smiled at by one of the Princes!" </location:verenne>
2. #2⚪ Gebein

Keys: cradle of monsters, gebein, north

   Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

location:gebein Official Name: Dukedom of Gebein Synonyms: Cradle of Monsters, The North Ruler: Boreas von Alp Area of influence: Northern continent (historical center of power) Current conflicts: strained relationship with Empire Culture values: Strength, willpower, fighting prowess, family, the “pack” (native inhabitants of Gebein see themselves as a “pack” like in wolves, they are fiercely loyal and kind to each other but cold and suspicious to outsiders), heat, weapons Culture devalues: Outsiders, Verenne, needless luxury, softness, wealth National Colors: White and platinum National Animal: Wolf Environment: Snowy mountains with small villages and towns dotted around the map, summers are short and mild History: Monsters have always had a higher tendency to appear in the North than anywhere else on the continent. This established a strong pack mentality among the Gebeiner natives, who rely on each other to survive the harsh climate. Gebein is the only place where people have learned to hunt monsters for furs and nutrition, so even average villagers from there are formidable monster slayers. Gebein's people form a bulwark against the monsters, protecting the rest of the continent from being swarmed. Tropes: Mother Russia Makes You Strong, Grim Up North, Generic Hairy Monster

Widespread opinions: Verenne: “Soft and rotten like spoiled fruit, all of them! Their ‘enlightenment’ keeps neither cold nor hunger nor monsters away, they can stick their empire up their mushy asses!” Rhyddel: “They're… fine. Doubt that any of them could hack it here for long, but I wouldn't leave ‘em to freeze in a blizzard, I guess.” Esmeragd: “Don't get me started on these soft little waterfleas! None of them has known a true day of hardship in their lives!” </location:gebein>

They established a parliament with elected representatives of each trade and region. The Scarlet King's word is still heavily valued, but most decisions are made together with the parliament. Nobility is on thin fucking ice here and expected to use their resources for the common good. Tentative friendly relations with Esmeragd. Tropes:

    °•○ HOW TO USE ○•° Ver 1.0

☆ Introduction ☆ This lorebook was written for the Alyon series of character cards. In case you're not familiar, there are currently four storylines planned for this setting:

    1. This Villainess chooses Life!
    2. Theia's Kiss
    3. A Daisy among Briars
    4. Frostbitten

I will eventually try to design a unified lorebook and versatile cards for all of these, but for now, I'm a beginner and need to start small. So version 1.0 focuses only on the canon of "This Villainess chooses Life" and is only future-proof for "A Daisy among Briars".

⚠️Before you do anything else, make sure that you have used "Filter to Characters or Tags" and checked "□ Exclude" for every character card you own with a lorebook entry!⚠️

Penelope Scarlet is the player character of "This Villainess", so she is turned off by default. Leave her turned off for the default experience.

    ☆ Different Player Characters ☆

It's possible to play different characters than the Scarlet Princess! You just need to make slight edits to some lorebook entries!

Here are some roles you can play and the steps to adjust the lorebook:

    0. Necessary for all alt roles:

change "{{user}}" to "Penelope Scarlet" in the following entries:

🔴 Rhyddel 🔴 The Scarlet Family 🔴 The Scarlet Princess (including the keywords!) 🔵 Hephaestus von Indigo 🔴 Eurylochus Scarlet 🔴 Icarius Scarlet 🟢 Ione de Verdant Also make this change in any character cards of "This Villainess chooses Life!" (Signified by the gold crown symbol)

    1. A transmigrator who didn't take over a character:

You're already done! Yay! When you start the chat, either delete the greeting(s) or edit them to your own. I may eventually provide some in the cards.

    2. A servant or knight:

Add {{user}} to the "Notable Individuals:" part of the servant group or Guard you wish to play in, or add that part yourself (currently only one staff group is defined) Switch to the alternate greeting where Penelope is addressed by name, if applicable

    3. An established character:

Turn off the character entry of who you want to replace Either convert the respective card to persona or find and edit any instance of the name to {{user}} in the lorebook entries detailed below. The easiest to replace are Rux, Boreas, Ione and Chloe, as they have the fewest mentions in other lorebooks.

    Edit List

The staff of the Indigo Palace consists of maids, butlers, aides for high positioned nobles, gardeners, kitchen staff and people who tend to the stables. Two doctors also work there, the Imperial physician who exclusively tends to the Imperial family, and the staff Physician who ensures the general health of the workers. Commoners working in the palace are usually confined more to dirty work and work out of sight from nobles, while low nobility gets personal maid and butler positions. The palace staff loathes Penelope, considering her a rhyddelian spy or schemer, and so will use subtle ways to prank or harm her. Like hiding stinking things in her chambers, serving her spoiled food, or giving her bedsheets with holes.

Everyone is terrified of {{user}} and always trying to please him.

The contract is only over when either both conditions are fulfilled or one of the contractors becomes unable to fulfill their part (for example, if {{user}} dies of old age while still married). Whoever doesn't fulfill their conditions will suffer harsh consequences, beginning from lessened magic or falling ill from breaking a behavioral rule once all the way to near or actual death for becoming unable to ever fulfill their end. While the contract is in effect, the contractee is able to assert a mild amount of control over the demon by giving them rules and orders that do not conflict with any conditions. The is able to always find their contractor. Rux is experienced in finding and exploiting loopholes in contracts. Rux knows how Contracts work in detail.
