Description on Chubfrom Chub
As a fan of To Be Hero X and My Hero Academia I wanted to create a world that was vaguely like those with its own lore and setting that plays off the fun elements that the shows introduce. A hero ranking system, a commercialization to heroes and businesses built around promoting heroes.

- #1Project Hero Origins of Virus X
Keys: Virus X · Secondary: Mutation, Super Abilities, Virus X, Biological Weapon
Project Hero was created in 2160, 100years after a biological weapon had been deployed that killed half the worlds population. A terrorist plot that came from the United States where a group of radical right wing fanatics created a virus that was meant to infect what they saw as 'genetically inferior' individuals. It became known as Virus X. Unfortunately the virus did not behave as predicted and instead caused radical mutations spanning humans, animal and plant life. Much of the world became uninhabitable due to rapid overgrowth of plants and mutation of animals that made the terrain uninhabitable and the wild life more invasive and aggressive towards humans.
Humans that became infected with Virus X became either seriously ill and died or developed mutations that manifested in many different ways. These mutations quickly became referred to as Super Abilities as it augmented strength, speed and even more radical expressions including but not limited to pyrokensis, flight, changing physical shape to animals, and so on. As the years passed some mutations faded and others seemed to linger expressing in new and more devastating ways. Much of the population opted to be inoculated against Virus X as the common cause of why people would die or become 'Super Human' was incredibly hard to determine. This resulted in some traits fading out in the population and others choosing to breed purposefully to try and create a new race of 'Super Humans'.
- #2Project Hero; World
Keys: Finora; a new world · Secondary: Virus X, countries, government, continents, cities, globe
With much of the landscape changed due to the unleashing of Virus X,continents and nations as they existed were devastated. Half the worlds population dying off and much of the environment becoming unlivable nations came together to build large cityscapes to house the population that still existed. Now only a handful of countries remain the largest being Finora a merging of many Asian continents and European nations into one population. The government now functions as a council across these various continents to help establish trade, travel, housing and a governance of laws.
Mostly a democratic society the leaders of the Council as it is referred to are made up of elected officials that are determined by population and voting. While not perfect it represents enough of the surviving population that it clings to a system that unites their many cultures.
Much of the livable world is now covered in concrete and high rise buildings with agriculture largely being produced in artificial grow houses. Beaches, mountains and jungle terrain are largely uninhabitable because of the hostile creatures and plant life that is has not evolved into territorial beings that humanity has not yet tamed. Artificial landscapes have become more the norm in this new world few opting to even try to live outside these sprawling artificial cities and terrains.
- #3Project Hero; Heroes and Villians
Keys: Project X; the Rise of Heroes and the Age of Villiany · Secondary: Glam, cults, Virus X, Hephaestus, Extro, breeding, factions, Villians, Extrodinaria, Heroes, Nautalis
While not all agreed with being vaccinated against Virus X some had attempted to splinter into factions that would purposefully breed a new race of humanity that would harness the power of Virus X and create a new utopia of power free of the restraints of normal human expectation. Many of these Breeding farms as they were later referred to were seen as cults and largely disbanded still some persist claiming radical beliefs that the government that still exists is exploiting humanity and for various reasons live outside normal society.
The rise of the concept of Heroes and Villains mostly spawned from these breeding farms where some used their new found abilities to harm and profit and others used them to protect and guide humanity. Many who saw themselves as protectors banded together into the League of Heroes later called Project X over the years differing ideals splintered these factions into yet more complex systems that eventually lead to a ranking system for those who registered as 'heroes'.
Those who refused to be registered or did not conform to what was considered 'heroic behavior' were labeled villains largely living outside society or keeping their abilities secret from most society. In modern day there are four agencies that have established themselves as the major companies to represent heroes spawning whole industries similar to those created around athletes and actors. While many more agencies exist the most widely regarded and accepted comprise of the following:
Nautalis; comprised of super heroes who serve as explorers, charting the natural world as it changes and evolves many of its registered heroes are those who have super intellect, compatibility with nature typically with elements such as earth, wind, fire, lightening ect., abilities to talk to animals, breath under water. Their primary objective is to use technology and harness natural resources to better humanity. The heroes registered to Nautalis often spend their time cultivating new lands, domesticating the new flora and fauna of the rapidly evolving world and cataloging natural events to improve the global situation for humans.
Extrodinaria; aka Extro: Comprised of super heroes who serve as protectors and enforces they often posses super human abilities that augment their strength, speed or some other physicality that allows them to be superior fighters. Their main objective is to track and hunt down those who would bring harm to the populous through exploiting their super human abilities. They often work in conjunction with law enforcement and have some of the classically strongest super heroes working for them. They are also responsible for keeping track of villainous activities and containing the most powerful of villains.
Hephaestus; comprised of super heroes that wish to use their augmentations to create new technology and advancements for society. They tend to be comprised of those whose powers aren't immediately obvious or would be seen as being repugnant due to the nature of how their powers manifested often being labeled as 'mutants'. They tend to be comprised of the most diverse groupings of heroes loosely associated by their desire to create and implement a wide range of products aimed at enhancing the human experience in the new world they find themselves in.
Glam: comprised of super heroes who wish to alter the course of human kind they tend to be the most controversial of the four factions often comprising of super heroes who are actors, politicians and people of influence using their abilities to try and persuade public opinion. With no other particular guiding principal many mock them as the 'pretty super heroes' as they tend to be ones with powers that heavily influence their appearance and appeal to the general population.
- #4Project Hero; The Tournament
Keys: The Tournament · Secondary: Tournament, Rankings, funding, factions
Running the different agencies filled with heroes is an expensive proposition and while much of it is privately funded by the wealthiest in society there is still public funding and crowd funding that serves as avenues of resources for these titans of industrialized heroes. When the factions began to splinter and became various agencies the top four agreed to a yearly competition that would rank the heroes through a rigorous testing of skills mostly in the combat arena. Over the years this competition became known simply as "The Tournament" once a year the top ranking 100 heroes determined by four major criteria:
- How many villains they had defeated
- How many people they had saved wither it be from villains, natural disasters or other harmful outcomes
- Notoriety
- Contributions to humanity wither it was through reclaiming wild territories, defeating hostile factions or creating new inventions.
Once the list was confirmed yearly by an independent council the various governments of the world contribute funds to be distributed by ranking. The top ten heroes determined through trial by combat to decide who would be the worlds 'strongest' heroes.
