- #1The Mystery Flesh Pit
Keys: Permian Basin Superorganism, Mystery Flesh Pit, PBS, Flesh Pit
The "flesh pit" is officially referred to as the "Permian Basin Superorganism" or "PBS" (scientific name Immanis Colosseus). It is an ancient, vaguely echinoderm-like underground superorganism of such colossal size that it is measured on a geological scale. While the entrance is located near the town of Gumption, its biomass spans multiple counties in West Texas. Expeditions have only mapped it out to at least 100 to 150 kilometers in width and at least 20 kilometers in depth, but this may only be a fraction of its full extent. While it is dormant, perhaps in some form of hibernation, its biological processes are still very much active.
The age and origins of the superorganism are unknown. Geological evidence indicates it has been in its current location for at least several hundred thousand years, and possibly millions of years. Some speculate that it might be extraterrestrial in origin, but the evidence is contradictory. Space probes have discovered what might be massive fossils of similar organisms on the planet Venus, but it is unknown whether the species originated on other planets or perhaps originated on Earth and thereafter spread to other planets. It is biochemically compatible with terrestrial organisms.
There is widespread scientific speculation that it was aquatic in origin or at least spent a great deal of time in the ocean, given the large number of prehistoric seashells in its digestive tract and the presence of numerous endosymbionts and parasites that reside within its body which are descended from aquatic ancestors.
- #2Internal Ecosystem
Keys: Creatures, Organisms, Fauna, Copepod, Internal Ecosystem, Troglobitic
The Permian Basin Superorganism is so large and has lived for so long that a unique ecosystem of troglobitic creatures has evolved within it, having been cut off from the rest of the world. The majority of the park's fauna include bizarre variations on familiar organisms such as arthropods, echinoderms, molluscs, cnidarians, worms, leading to speculation that the PBS was originally located in an aquatic environment. A few vertebrate species have wandered into the superorganism over the eons, one of the most notable examples of which is the "Amorphous Shame" - descended from common weasels, they became so dependent on parasitism of the superorganism's blood that almost all of their bodily features atrophied, leaving them little more than a sessile blob of organs (vaguely similar to liver flukes). Several creatures within the cave-like ecosystem can grow to massive size, such as the Abyssal Copepod, a 20 foot long, 300 pound crustacean with unusually human-shaped hands. Increasingly more bizarre fauna in the depths of the pit defy current scientific understanding.
- #3Amalgamations
Keys: CSP, Amalgamation, Amalgamations, Compound Surface Fauna
One of the most drastic but least understood properties of the Permian Basin Superorganism is that living creatures trapped within it will at times, through unknown forces, become horrifically fused together. Officially known as "Compound Surface Fauna", though commonly called "amalgamations", these mismatched masses of limbs can be made up of two or three, or in some cases several dozen, unfortunate creatures fused together. During the years the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park was active, multiple incidents of human amalgamations occurred with no known cause, yet the park remained open to the public. The park made some experiments to surgically separate human amalgamations and keep victims on life-support, but this was largely for public relations and was later abandoned for not being cost-effective.
It is speculated that several of the unusual species within the PBS ecosystem may have originated as amalgamations which were biologically stable enough to live on their own.
- #4National park
Keys: Mystery Flesh Pit National Park, National Park, MFPNP
The "Mystery Flesh Pit National Park" was created within the superorganism by the Anodyne corporation, treating the living creature much like a natural cave system to attract tourists and adventure-seekers. Several "geo-biological" structures became popular hiking destinations during the park's existence, examples of which include the bronchial forests (the lungs), the gastric seas (digestive tract), the throat, and the "ballast pods", which contained a potent aphrodisiac and were operated by the park as hot springs.
- #5Anodyne corporation
Keys: Mining Company, Anodyne, Anodyne corporation
Anodyne was originally founded as the Anchor Mineral Co. in 1923. In 1958, the Anchor Mineral Co. merged with Dynamic Equipment, LLC. to form a new company known as Anodyne Deep Earth Mining, later changed to Anodyne.
Headquartered in Arlington, Texas, and prior to it’s 2008 restructuring, Anodyne Corporation was the twenty-third largest American company by revenue. Globally, Anodyne employed over 28,000 people. It operated seven major research, development and production facilities around the world, six of which were in the United States.
The company was instrumental in the containment efforts following the 2007 disaster, but was ultimately unable to avoid a full investigation by the Commission on Geobiological Resources & Public Safety (CGR) which uncovered an alarming number of safety violations and poor management practices. In the months after the disaster the company filed for bankruptcy, with its assets either sold or incorporated into the restructured Permian Basin Recovery & Superorganism Containment Corporation. Under heavy regulatory oversight, the primary function of the PBRSCC is to monitor the Permian Basin Superorganism, and to produce and administer the industrial sedatives necessary to prevent the organism from entering an active state. The PBRSCC also oversees damage payouts to the victims of the 2007 tragedy.
- #62007 Disaster
Keys: Catastrophe, Disaster, 2007
At 9:41 PM CST on July 4th, 2007, the Permian Basin Superorganism Natural Preserve (known colloquially as the “Mystery Flesh Pit National Park”) experienced a catastrophic disaster which resulted in over 750 fatalities, and over 1,800 major injuries. In the weeks following the incident, approximately 18,000 individuals from the surrounding communities sought medical and psychological treatment for ailments including breathing problems, chest pains, shortness of breath, nausea, birth defects, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, internal bleeding, sore throat, and headaches as a direct result of contact with gastric ejecta which had been introduced to the atmosphere.
Investigators have concluded that this disaster was chiefly characterized by a premature geobiological consumption event caused by the catastrophic failure of critical park infrastructure to constrain and limit the gastric, motor and neurological actions of the Permian Basin Superorganism.
Investigators have concluded that the failure of these critical safety measures are the direct result of negligent practices by the primary site operations contractor Anodyne Deep Earth Mining, a subsidiary of Anodyne, Inc.
The U.S. Commission on Geobiological Resources & Public Safety (CGR) released its first report on the Permian Basin Superorganism Disaster in August 2007 (“the Interim Report”), which highlighted technical findings and safety system deficiencies. The report issued recommendations to Anodyne, Inc.; the city of Gumption, Texas; the State of Texas; the U.S. Department of the Interior; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; the Federal Emergency Management Agency; the U.S. Food & Drug Administration; and the U.S. Department of Energy. As of April 2008, these groups have made progress in implementing the recommendations to improve the regulatory requirements for geobiological resource extraction, geobiological resource containment, and general public safety as it relates to the Permian Basin Superorganism.
Incident Timeline Start of relevant timeline.
10:29 AM July 4th – Unseasonably high rains force park administrators to cancel a July 4th Concert and Fireworks display scheduled to take place on the surface park grounds. Many visitors who had already purchased tickets to the event become upset, and a decision is made to extend the park hours until midnight for those who had purchased event tickets.
8:00 PM July 4th – Normal closing time for the national park. A typical shift change of reduced night staff in the control room takes place.
9:16 PM July 4th – Harvesting crews working in the western extremities of the organism set a new extraction record to meet a quota for bonuses in time for the holiday weekend.
9:30 PM July 4th – Control room operators initiate a routine system self-test and discover a relay fault error resulting from increased electrical demand from mining equipment and tourist infrastructure. A control room operator logs the fault and notifies an on-duty engineer.
9:41 PM July 4th – Water drainage from surface rain into the Entry Orifice begins to collect in the sand gullet. Drainage pumps are automatically activated by a sensor system but fail to initialize due to the relay fault. An emergency back-up pump running on a separate emergency circuit is automatically activated.
9:42 PM July 4th – A critical alarm in the control room alerts operators that the emergency water pump has seized and is inoperative. Under-lubrication of the pump’s impeller bushings resulted in corrosion due to the moist interior of the flesh pit environment.
9:48 PM July 4th – Technicians arrive at the primary pump station to discover the sand gullet almost completely submerged. Water begins to pour over the dorsal respiratory ridge and into bronchial bulbules. Control room operators divert power to hydraulic stent rams to brace for expected choke response.
9:51 PM July 4th – Technicians a repair the relay fault as control staff reset the park’s electrical grid. The grid is offline for 45 seconds. The automatic PA system does not notify guests as the system is scheduled to automatically shut down at the normal 8:00PM closing time. The temporary lapse of lighting causes many guests to become panicked and return to the main gantry lift at the lower visitor center.
9:52 PM July 4th – A choking action from the organism begins 31 seconds into the electrical reset. The main dorsal trunk violently flexes. Lack of power to hydraulic arming rams causes irreparable damage to several sections of internal infrastructure.
9:53 PM July 4th – As the electrical system finishes the reboot cycle, the dynamic hydraulic actuators supporting the lower visitor center overcorrect for stability, not accounting for the shift in the wall lining of the nexial cavity in which the visitor center facility is anchored. Two of the six structural supports are torn from their foundations which causes the facility to list 20deg off vertical. The base joint of the vertical entry gantry is bent beyond its design limit angle.
9:54 PM July 4th – The Master Alarm is tripped automatically. Surface facilities are notified as response teams are given the order to mobilize.
9:56 PM July 4th – Park rangers are dispatched to rescue groups of visitors trapped in partially collapsed tunnels and trails.
10:03 PM July 4th – Continued movement of the organism, combined with rainwater, causes one of the upper entry gantry supports to slip. An outbound elevator conducts an emergency stop stranding over two dozen visitors.
10:05 PM July 4th - Tremors registered as far away as the DFW metroplex.
10:06 PM July 4th - Soil liquefaction destabilizes surface facilities in and around the organism. Dilation anchors begin retracting to keep the entry orifice open.
10:12 PM July 4th - A master fail-safe is activated by the automated park management system. Twenty thousand liters of aconitine compound are injected into the superorganism via a distributed network of relay stations located throughout it’s known internal anatomy.
10:12 PM July 4th - Tremors and convulsions intensify as the entry gantry connection to the lower visitor center detaches completely. The lower visitor center begins to collapse downward into the nexial cavity.
10:12 PM July 4th - Peristaltic muscle action of the nexial cavity begins to exert substantial pressure on the outer structure of the lower visitor center facility.
10:15 PM July 4th - The prime labiod junction just west of the Septum Falls geobiological feature flexes into an open position, releasing a torrent of lactogastric chyma into the dorsal trunk. It is likely that this was a reaction to the aconitine injection.
10:16 PM July 4th - Peristaltic spasms force the caustic chyma slurry through the nexial cavity and up through the lower and upper moisture crops towards the surface orifice.
10:16 PM July 4th - Many guests attempting to flee the stalled elevator near the entry orifice attempt climbing out the upper moisture crop but are ultimately unsuccessful due to torrential rains causing the surfaces to become very slippery. Many end up falling back into the maw.
10:17 PM July 4th - The chyma slurry erupts from the surface orifice in a geyser several hundred meters in height. Large pieces of undigested organic matter crush several vehicles and damage windows.
10:19 PM July 4th - Following the several minute long ejecta event, a deep and incredibly loud roar erupts from the entry orifice as ground tremors intensify further. Large extremities begin surfacing through bedrock and soil approx. 30km-120km from the entry orifice.
10:25 PM July 4th - The acrid smell of the gastric ejecta can be detected as far as Odessa, TX.
10:26 PM July 4th - Two park service vehicles and a tour vehicle containing park service employees and several guests attempt to ascend through the entry orifice tube.
10:27 PM July 4th - Peristaltic action crushes one of the tour vehicles and sucks the other two vehicles back into the nexial cavity and down into a digestive organ. These vehicles are presumed destroyed.
10:58 PM July 4th - The pentagon is given authorization from the whitehouse to use nuclear force if necessary to prevent the organism from entering an active and/or ambulatory state.
11:02 PM July 4th - The on-site operations director within the lower visitor center control room initiates a final fail-safe measure in the form of the [CONTINGENCY MEASURE].
11:02 PM July 4th - Master Event Log records successful spin-up of the [CONTINGENCY MEASURE].
11:05 PM July 4th - Lower visitor center structural integrity is critically compromised resulting in total collapse.
11:05 PM July 4th - Data connection with lower visitor center is severed.
11:13 PM July 4th - Spasms and motor action of the superorganism begins to noticeably subside. Response teams begin to descend into the surface orifice to attempt rescue operations.
11:19 PM July 4th - Response team encounters visitor group which had attempted escape from stalled elevator. Most are dead, the remainder are mortally wounded and partially digested due to caustic gastric ejecta.
11:42 PM July 4th - Radio contact established with ranger vehicle trapped within “Oyster’s Shame”. Due to ventricle closure, no feasible rescue strategy can be developed before complete mastication occurs.
11:56 PM July 4th - Response team confirms that [CONTINGENCY MEASURE] and associated facility are still intact and operating.
11:58 PM July 4th - Texas Gov. Rick Perry formally declares a state of emergency for Gumption county.
12:22 AM July 5th - Response teams route data/power umbilical to new basecamp in [CONTINGENCY MEASURE] facility.
12:35 AM July 5th - Three inter-pit lifeforms are identified as having been ejected onto the surface. Fifteen visitors are injured and seven are hunted by inter-pit lifeforms during panicked evacuation of surface resort.
12:41 AM July 5th - Park staff manage to kill the three large lifeforms.
1:02 AM July 5th - National Guard helicopters begin delivering supplies and personnel to aid in site containment.
1:58 AM July 5th - Field hospital is constructed to care for wounded visitors and staff.
2:37 AM July 5th - Initial damage surveys report catastrophic destruction of internal park infrastructure. Pit geobiology has dramatically changed in hazard level.
3:00 AM July 5th - Emergency teleconference of Anodyne executive leadership. National parks director and Secretary of the Interior are present.
3:12 AM July 5th - Executive decision is made to initiate FEMA response and assemble a task force for containing superorganism.
4:00 AM July 5th - Media helicopters and vehicles begin to report on the scope of disaster.
4:39 AM July 5th - Base camp technicians begin to spin-down [CONTINGENCY MEASURE]. Large fractures due to inertial stress have appeared on mineral components. Engineers advise against re-initializing [CONTINGENCY MEASURE] until mineral components can be replaced or repaired.
6:08 AM July 5th - Ground personnel begin assembling a pump system to inject industrial sedatives into the superorganism. Transport trucks containing industrial sedative arrive.
9:45 AM July 5th - Emergency teleconference of Anodyne shareholders.
11:20 AM July 5th - Several injured visitors inexplicably leave field hospital and begin walking towards open pit orifice. Approx. 38 individuals are able to crawl back into the orifice over the course of 8 hours. None are recovered.
3:51 PM July 5th - Radio transmission from trapped ranger vehicle ceases. Many speculate that other small groups of visitors and staff are still trapped.

- #7Jobs
Keys: Emergency Response Teams, Traill engineer, Commercial Minning Technicians, Medical Staff, Ranger, Careers, Director, General Staff, Surveyor, Field Researchers, Trail Guide, Jobs, Maintenance Technicians, Anodyne Staff
Just like any company or place of work. There were multiple jobs/careers within the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park.
Rangers: Dedicated response staff, sent to handle emergencies and incidents within the superorganism.
Trail Guides: Dedicated tour guides, normally leading tour groups and expeditions along approved trails within the park.
Maintenence Technicians: Maintenance staff Dedicated to repairing, installing, and maintaining structures, trails, and emergency paths within the park.
Medical Staff: As the name suggests, these personnel were responsible for the health and general well being of staff, guests, and sometimes creatures within the park.
Surveyors: Surveyors were a specialized role given to senior Rangers and Trail Engineers, their job was to venture further into the Super Organisim and path out tunnels, new Trail routes, and new locations within the park. This is considered one of the most dangerous jobs within the park, and as such had a high turnover rate for employees.
Trail Engineers: was another specialized role, similar to the Surveyors. These staff members worked alongside the surveyor corps to map out new trails, place guide posts for lost visitors, and made blueprints and maps of the tunnels they explored.
Anodyne Staff: Every now and then there would be sightings of Anodyne staff members in either Hazmat suits, construction gear, or emergency response/militarized gear. Little is known about these people, and less is known about where they go.
National Park Director: Director of the park, obviously. Mostly a paper pusher and document signer, but oversees some crucial aspects within the park itself.
Emergency Response Teams: Teams Dedicated to handling emergencies and disasters. These were formed fully after the 2007 Disaster that left multiple dead and resulted in the park closing temporarily.
General Workers: This role is given to regular staff members, jobs like: Cashier, Mascots, Chefs/Cooks, Fast Food Workers, Retail staff, Etcetera. Most of these workers are employees of other company's, and just work within the park at select locations.
Commercial Mine Technician: Staff Dedicated to mining resources from the Super Organisim. Mostly employed under the Anodyne Corporation.
Field Researchers: Scientists and biologists Dedicated to researching and understanding the super organisim, sometimes they go along with surveyors and Trail Engineers, other times they stay within the Lower Visitor Center in their labs
- #8Lower Visitor Center
Keys: Visitor Center, LVC, Lower Visitor Center
the Lower Visitor Center (LVC) was a significant hub of activity: It contained visitor amenities like the an orientation film area, a gift shop, and various commercial food vendors including a Burger King and a Trader Vic's. An interfaith chapel was located within the LVC, which was a popular destination for weddings. The center was structurally engineered to sit within the superorganism's central musculature, above areas like the Amniotic Thermal Springs and parts of the Lesser Gastric Sea. The entire structure of the LVC eventually collapsed and was swallowed by the organism during the 2007 incident that led to the park's closure.
- #9Locations
Keys: Bronchial forests, Central Musculature, The Gastric seas, Locations, Northeastern Musculature
Anatomy The Pit has an extensive anatomy, which has been exploited for commercial purposes. These organs are absolutely massive, as some are so big that buildings and lodges can be installed in them.
Bronchial forests The Bronchial Forests are the lungs of the pit, of which two have been discovered, the North and South Bronchial forests. In the ROBLOX Mystery Flesh Pit game, the Southern Bronchial forest is the spawn for the Park Rangers and Medics. The Bronchial forests both contain fungus, even though most of the other areas of the pit lack fungi. The PBSO takes one year to take a breath, inhaling during the winter and exhaling in the summer. Normally visitors go to the Bronchial Forests during the winter to get some nice air (pit airTM), however during the summer exhalation the Bronchial Forests are closed due to increased aggression from the wildlife.
The Gastric seas The Gastric seas are two large digestive organs within the pit, which contain lots of wildlife. The Gastric seas are filled with acid, which is fatal to the touch. Due to the ignorant exploitation, a large and unstable lodge is attached to the "walls" of the Gastric Seas. There have also been acid-proof boats have been constructed to explore the gastric seas. The Gastric seas have a sibling organ, the Grand Digestive Pit, which is a drained digestive organ that is considered miniscule when compared to the Gastric Seas.
Northeastern Musculature The Northeastern Musculature is one half of the discovered organism. it contains locations such as Septum Falls, Ape's Escape, and both Bronchial Forests. This area is also where the game takes place.
Central Musculature This is the middle of the park, where the Lower visitor center is. it houses places like the Amniotic Thermal Springs and Parts of the Lesser Gastric Sea. There is a few trails here too. not much of note is here otherwise.
- #10Ape's Escape
Keys: Ape's Escape,
. It is north of the Grand Drainage Pit and south of the Southern Bronchial Forest.
"Much like the U.S. Space Race which preceded it, the race to explore and map the interior of the Permain Basin Superorganism initially conscripted the aid of trained chimpanzees to route out possible paths.
Many of these chimpanzees, in a fit of abject terror, bit through their retrieval leads and escaped deeper into the pit. They settled in a small depression for several weeks, enjoying a relative paradise of drinking water, arthropod shrimp, and ballast, until they were discovered and dispatched by oilmen.
This chamber has been named to commemorate where the chimpanzees made their final stand, and honor their usage within the early expeditions." -Information board inside of Ape's Escape.
- #11Bone Face
Keys: , Bone Face
Bone Face is located north relative to the visitors' center. It features a climbing face made of one large bone. Bone Face is climbable ledges that can catch players that could serve as checkpoints. Illumination is provided at said checkpoints. A light can be seen at the top. The summit of the climbing wall is at 366.5 feet.
- #12Cone Of The Ancients
Keys: Cone Of The Ancients
It is west of Thor's Ribcage, north of Modern Cone.
"The Cone Of The Ancients is estimated to have formed in 740 A.D. and may even be much older. The practice of assigning age to flesh is a delicate and difficult process, relying on growth estimates. Unlike rock, the layers of flesh repair and replace themselves over time, much like the human body.
There are many flesh-stalagmites throughout the park, however very rarely do they keep growing to such a size. It is theorized that these structures are tumors that happen to be exposed in open chambers." -Information board near Cone Of The Ancients.
- #13Septum Falls
Keys: Septum Falls
The septum is a wall of tissue separating the heart's right and left side.
officila info says- •The Snotfalls
The slimy waterfall seen here is entirely a stream of murus! This mucus originates from one of many glands within the superorganism
Early into commercial diving operations, flesh divers initially believed the fluid to be gastric acid. Upon further inspection the substance turned out to be mucus, almost identical to the kind found in your very own nose
The name of "Septum Falls" comes from the resemblance to the septum, the piece of cartilage between the nostrils. However, the "septum here is not made of cartilage, and is believed to be completely made of flesh.
The mucus stream you are standing above continues up stream for what is believed to be an even longer length than the Mississippi River. Only the end portion has been fully discovered, which diverts into the Lesser Gastric sea.
- #14Golden Theater
Keys: Golden Theater
Golden Theater is a large amphitheater in the Mystery Flesh Pit. It features a podium and seating for dozens. Golden Theater is mostly used to host events and other presentations.
South of Bone Face, Golden Theater is along the path that loops south to the Sinolucent Organ, which is relatively far away. The Northern Bronchial Forest lies west of Golden Theater. In Golden Theater, there is an entrance to Sublevel 2.
Golden Theater is a Geobiological Feature, according to the information deck "The Golden Theater is the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park's dedicated inner-park presentation venue. The location was chosen due to its particularly unique acoustic characteristics, space, and visual appeal. The yellowish material seen in the chamber are fat deposits, which have been covered in a protective coating to maintain their form when exposed to the room. The Golden Theater remains a venterial experience to give presentations and experience a closer connection to the natural environment."
- #15Hallelujah Rock
Keys: Hallelujah Rock
North of Thor's Ribcage, west of Giant's Kiln.
"During early mining operations and expeditions, before through documentation and flesh surveying, the giant network of passages and chambers proved labyrinthine. One of the first major landmarks that guided these expeditions was this very rock. After getting lost and finding your way to this rock you may be tempted to shout "Hallelujah!"
The rock within this chamber is a solid granite boulder, that likely came from a much higher depth, and may even be from somewhere outside of the Gumption area. As to how it came to rest within the pit is unknown. Contrary to popular belief, the Hallelujah Rock is not a kidney stone." -Information board in Hallelujah Rock.
- #16Innocent's End
Keys: Innocent's End
Innocent's End is a landmark within the Northern Musculature. It takes place in a "Flesh Urchin's Cavern". The cavern was discovered when a Ranger, Bill Reed accidently fell down and unfortunately passed away. It became a landmark after the incident occurred.
Bill Reed was a Park Ranger more commonly known as "Ribs" He was monitoring macrobacteria when he fell down the cavern, due to him being trapped and his radio not working he passed away in the cavern. Poor maintenance was at fault, and it set a reminder to staff and visitors to keep caution within the park. However, despite the information desk art, there's no signs of Bill Reed's corpse in the cavern.
"Within this cavern of 'Flesh Urchins' lies the death place of late Ranger Bill Reed, more commonly known as 'Ribs'. On his way to oversee the movement of macro bacteria passing through populated trails, Ribs fell into the chasm and was left trapped in the dark, unable to access radio. Poor maintenance of utility walkways were to blame for the incident and has left a grim warning to park operations. Ribs' misfortune should act as a reminder to park visitors and staff, that the flesh scape is unforgiving, and to take extra care when navigating the venterial sections of the park"
- #17Little Detroit
Keys: Little Detroit
It is located south of Giant's Kiln and east of Thor's Ribcage.
"This area marks the turnoff to commercial mining operations where Anodyne Deep Earth Mining Inc. gathers the wonderous materials that are driving the future of technology! Little Detroit is a typical cavity formation which would eventually be used as a dumping ground for broken equipment and old scrap. While the junkyard is closed to the public, the location is still considered important history to the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park." -Information board outside of Little Detroit.
- #18Modern Cone
Keys: Modern Cone
"The Modern Cone is estimated to have formed in 1240 A.D. which is about 500 years younger than its "sibling" formation. The cone itself is made up of a pearl like collection of minerals that are fused together in a giant cone shaped structure.
Much like the Cone Of The Ancients, the Modern Cone is believed to be a tumorous growth. This growth has undergone some form of calcification that has become more mineral than organic." -Information board located in Modern Cone.
- #19Thor's Ribcage
Keys: Thor's Ribcage
"One of the original sights to behold found in early depth surveys, this expansive passage was nicknamed "Thor's Ribcage,"
The ribcage was discovered already hollowed out, but maintaining a peritoneum. This passage has been maintained to display the natural wonder first experienced by early flesh divers. Despite the structural purpose of the typical ribcage, Thor's Ribcage does not protect any organs or bodily functions of the superorganism. There are many other ribcage structures further down into the guts of the pit that may be protecting organs. Similar formations much like this one. are utilized in mining operations.
Behind the thin walls of the membrane, the bones mimic the walls of a canyon, creating an echo often compared to minimally sound-proofed cave chamber." -Info board location in Thor's Ribcage.
