Keys: Morrigan Aensland
PROFILE FULL NAME Morrigan Aensland AGE 300+ (almost near the end of a succubus’ lifespan) SPECIES Succubus BIRTHDAY 1678 (According to Darkstalkers Graphic File) BIRTHPLACE Scotland Scotland ( UK Flag United Kingdom)
HEIGHT 172 cm (5'8") WEIGHT 58 kg (128 lbs.) GENDER Female OCCUPATION Heir to the Aensland throne (ignored role) Queen and Head of the Aensland House (ignored role; fulfilled role in Lilith’s ending)
BLOOD TYPE Unknown LIKES Prey on stolen dreams, having fun in life, fighting, thrill-seeking, darkness, death, trouble, mischievous fun DISLIKES Her long lifespan, a life that’s filled with repetition, responsibility, having to become head of the nobility, anything that's gross STATUS Fused with Lilith and both personalities existing as one by the end of Vampire Savior MEASUREMENTS 86cm (34"), 56cm (22"), 83cm (33") FIGHTING STYLE “Ryu/Ken” type Shotoclone mixed in with a fantasy and mecha theme LESS Morrigan Aensland is a fighting game character from the Darkstalkers series and one of its two primary main characters (the other being Demitri Maximoff). Although Demitri would seem to fill the spot, Morrigan took the role of protagonist of the Darkstalkers series, due to her popularity, importance in the overall story as well as her many appearances outside of her own game series.
ADVERTISEMENT Biography
Appearance
She appears as a beautiful woman with straight long hair, varying from lighter or darker shades of green, and bat-like wings on her back and the sides of her head. Her hair is a hime cut which was a sign often used in Japanese media to indicate a woman was rich or of high status. The outside of her wings are black and the inside of her wings are either purple or hot pink mixed with purple. For her outfit, it consists of a black leotard with feathers that mostly reveals her cleavage, purple or magenta/hot pink bat-patterned tights, rose colored fingerless gloves and black heeled boots.
Her usual human disguise in the human world is red tight jeans and a long white button up shirt and her vampire wing head ears is replaced her long emerald string green hair and long bangs reaching her eyebrows
She can transform into a variety of different outfits and will remove her wings to appear more human. Her Midnight Bliss transformation is a weird sailor doll thing that seems to have a hair style that might be ojou-ringlets\curls.
Personality
Morrigan Aensland is very vain, and lives for little more than the excitement of battle, although her endings in the games as well as various media show that Morrigan slowly takes up more of her responsibility seriously.
Confident, conceited, and playful, Morrigan may be called many things given that she is a succubus, but she is not really evil like the other demons of the Makai realm are rather, she is strangely friendly and approachable despite her glamorous and imposing good looks which might be due to her spending most of her time in the material world enjoying hedonistic delights. She's just always out to satisfy her own hunger and shirking her responsibilities as a member of the Aensland family. Morrigan has also found herself willingly aligned with the forces of good on many occasions.
It is unknown if she is aware of the implications of taking souls, but she has not killed humans so far in the current canon. In Darkstalkers 1 canon, Morrigan’s motivation was fighting just for the sake of stimulation and enjoyment but she still needed to drain life in order to survive. This is the reason why she drained Pyron’s life in her own ending. Eventually Darkstalkers 1 became a retconned game and few if not lots of the canon was rewritten as the first game had a lot of “experimental” ideas that Capcom was trying to figure things out, as it was the start of the series. Even if the canon got lots of rewriting by game 2 the game 1 endings would be reused. In current canon, Morrigan would be given more unique physiology with both her motivation and and need for survival to be stimulation and only succubi outside of Morrigan’s biological family need to drain souls partially to survive. Strangely, normal succubi in Darkstalkers can only consume a limited amount of spirit energy from an individual.
The UDON Comics however depict her as a malevolent being that justifies her killing of humans as giving them bliss in exchange. Despite the complaints by many fans that this depiction of Morrigan was evil, UDON responded by saying it was “not only morally grey but accurate” and while consuming life is accurate to her, albeit retconned, DS1 self, things like killing people to give them “eternal bliss” and making them into her bats are not part of the original games at all.
Concept
Originally during the development of Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors the team had decided on having two females in the game. Morrigan was originally intended to be the "cute" one, while Felicia the more "sexy" of the two. This was later changed. Morrigan was also going to be a vampire originally and was planned to have a sibling rivalry with Demitri Maximoff. Alex Jimenez, an employee of Capcom, oriented the Japanese development team of the nature of the succubi, influencing Morrigan's development to what she is today and indirectly, the image of the succubi in video games. Her concept art would later influence the redesign of Jedah Dohma. While Jedah Dohma was an already existing character in the canon, he was just another noble who was left dead and the designs that eventually would be his redesign were originally planned for what would have technically been a new character called “Belial Jr.” which would have been a brother for Morrigan. Eventually this Belial Jr. concept was just merged into the Jedah most know of today. Despite this, Belial Jr. is often looked at as an early version of Jedah and not someone remade for a redesign of a pre-existing character.
She was named after the Celtic crow goddess of war.
Story
Morrigan's Darkstalkers 3 Ending Ending from Darkstalkers 3 Morrigan's Darkstalkers 3 Ending The succubi are one of many races living in the Makai realm and a portion of them reside within the Aensland clan. Morrigan was born into this particular group and Belial, one of the rulers of the Makai, took her as his adopted daughter and heiress to his throne as the head of House Aensland and extension, as the ruler of Makai. He saw great potential in her, even to the point that she would become an S class darkstalker. This revelation increased the tensions House Aensland was already dealing with from the other noble houses.
Belial also foresaw the dangers of the powers residing in Morrigan's body. If she could not properly control these powers, their energies would consume her body and Makai would also suffer catastrophic damage in the aftermath. To counter this event from unfolding, he sealed away part of her power, one-third in himself to be returned upon his death, and one-third in a pocket dimension, which eventually became a being of its own, a succubus named Lilith. When the time was right, Belial would return these energies to Morrigan. By then, she would know how to handle her abilities.
Without knowing this, Morrigan grew up. Due to her status, she was tended after by two lesser demons named Lucien and Mudo. If they were to fail in caring for her in anyway, they would mostly likely suffer the wrath of Belial. She found her life in the Aensland castle dull, and so she would visit the human world secretly many times to look for some kind of entertainment. She found the taste of human souls and dreams to be quite enjoyable, but primarily indulged on the latter. She could never find this sort of nourishment anywhere in Makai and fed off of it as much as she could. Initially, there were so many dreams across the realm that even Morrigan herself could not keep up with them all. But eventually she only became lucky enough to enjoy a good dream every ten years. The succubus race itself also went into decline. However, Morrigan did not care. She felt no connection with her race. Searching for fun mattered to her more than anything else. However, even these journeys into the human world would have their occasional pangs of boredom and Morrigan began to feel desensitized.
One night, she was drawn to a strange power (later identified as Pyron) and ventured into the human world once again. She most likely encountered him in battle but the ultimate victory went to Demitri Maximoff, her father's sworn enemy. She returned to the demon world and 16 years later, Belial passed away. She became the next successor to the throne of the Aensland family. Although she is rightfully the ruler of Makai, she keeps avoiding her responsibilities and continues her life as before. Demitri returned to Makai shortly after learning of Belial's death and offered a match to Morrigan to prove who should rule Makai. She initially ignored his requests but eventually agreed to the fight. But before this could happen, Jedah created the Majigen. Morrigan and her castle were pulled into Jedah's dimension. Sensing Lilith, Morrigan sets off hoping to find some sort of enjoyment. She battles Lilith and comes out on top as victor. However, when Morrigan feels Lilith's sadness, she allows Lilith's spirit to combine with her own. Her fate after this is not known, although other games, particularly Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, hint that she did, to some degree, finally accept her role as the new Queen of the Makai. Gameplay
Powers and abilities
Morrigan is one of the strongest beings in the Darkstalkers universe. In addition to traditional punches and kicks, she can reshape her wings into spikes, tentacles, and blades when attacking her enemies, as well as using them to shield herself from enemy attacks. She can also channel her own soul fist energy into her attacks, making them much stronger. Her wings can also separate from her, and form into a cloud of bats. During her dashing maneuvers, her wings can boost like a rocket booster and give off visible thrust. She can increase this thrust by expelling a large amount of soul fist during her Valkyrie Turn and rebound her opponent by forming her wings into a drill. Her hair can also be used as a weapon, as seen in her basic punch. She is best known for her Soul Fist, a blast of energy from her fists. If she uses it with regular power, it will appear as a large glowing yellow bat but if used with more power in an EX move, it will appear as a beam with a ghostly skull at the apex. She can also create a temporary doppelganger in her Darkness Illusion spell who will mimic her movements and attacks. In her Finishing Shower move, her wings form cannon-like protrusions and expel multiple ki blasts. Her body can also be a lethal weapon, as when she performs double Deep Crescendo as her finishing attack in Darkness Illusion hyper combo; her kicks appear with a blade-like afterimage, implying her extremely powerful kick.
She can also change her costume instantly into whatever she desires at the moment. When doing this, she will always hide her wings. Presumably, this is for when she travels into the human world to avoid attention. She may also be the only Darkstalker that is capable of crossing into the human dimension without the use of the "Gate", simply relying on her own translocation ability. She can also change herself into a cloud of bats to avoid enemies' attack which is performed when she fights against Iron Man in the Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds intro. She is also quite athletic and flexible which is visible in some of her attacks as she retains flexibility, doing rolling kicks in midair.
Being a succubus, she can draw out the life force of a human (unknown if it is through sex like traditional succubi or through some other means), but Aensland succubi are said to be a unique strain of their own kind, as they are able to also mainly subsist purely on an internal fluid created by physical and mental stimulation alone. They can also feed on dreams, through which the substance is also found in the dreams of others. These traits are said to make succubi of Morrigan's line less threatening as a whole, but also more weary, as a lack of stimulus is able to kill them over the course of two days.
It's implied that if she were to combine with Lilith, her powers would be much stronger. While this has not been seen in the Darkstalkers games, this incarnation has appeared in the Vs. series. In this form, some of Morrigan's attacks look different and she's also much faster (though this could also be due to the game's engine). Her Finish Shower attack is replaced with the Soul Eraser, where her wings form a giant laser cannon and she also gains the Silhouette Blade, where she creates multiple Lilith clones that all use Lilith's Shining Blade attack. In Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, when Morrigan uses Darkness Illusion Hyper Combo, instead of a mirror image of herself appearing and attacking the enemy from the other side, Lilith appears instead.
Morrigan's power would have reached a new higher level, if Belial's portion of her powers ever returned back to her and when she assimilates Lilith into her body. But since they have been loss with him this is not the case. Fused with Lilith in Lilith’s ending, it is assumed that Morrigan eventually takes over as the head of the Aensland family and rules over Makai.

One of the victory poses of Ananzi from The Black Heart has her dress up as Morrigan.
A portrait of Morrigan can be seen in Capcom Fighting Evolution, placed on a wall in the Underworld stage and in Demitri's ending in the game.
Morrigan's likeness appears in the game We Love Golf! as an unlockable outfit for Stephanie. Trivia
She was voiced by Yayoi Jinguji in the Darkstalkers games, until her appearance in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Starting with Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds/Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, her Japanese voice has been provided by Rie Tanaka. Her English-language voice actresses in the games are Erin Fitzgerald (in Cross Edge) and Siobhan Flynn (in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds/Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3). Tsubomi from Ultimate Girls makes an appearance dressed as Morrigan Aensland in episode 2, 8:22 minutes. It has been a running joke (and a point of criticism) among fans that Morrigan has used the same sprite since her first appearance. The introduction of her 3D character model in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars changed this. Morrigan has made more appearances outside of Darkstalkers games than any other character in the franchise, or even the series itself. Morrigan is considered one of Capcom's most sexualized characters across Capcom's roster of characters and is perhaps, the company's unofficial sex symbol, as evidenced by numerous unofficial doujin and adult works credited under her character. She is said to be the first succubus in Japanese media and popularized them in the country. Japan has its own different types of yokai that are similar to succubi, so it can be a bit understandable how she may have been the first succubus seen in the country when she is a foreign creature and the country already had its fair share of similar monsters itself. Morrigan was featured in her own cell game in Japan, the game was titled Osanpo Morrigan ("Morrigan Taking a Walk"). Morrigan's influence in later video games can be seen in the following: Lili Rochefort in Tekken 6 can be customized to resemble Morrigan. In BlazBlue, one of Litchi's color palettes is a reference to Morrigan. In Skullgirls, one of Ms. Fortune's color palettes is a reference to Morrigan. Some entries of Castlevania has an enemy succubus taking inspiration from Morrigan's design. While it is sometimes mentioned by fans who state trivia from early concepts that Morrigan and Demitri were going to be siblings when they were both vampires, an even less known trivia is that Belial, Morrigan’s adopted father, was originally planned as Demitri’s brother. It is unknown when in development Belial was made and when the switch from Demitri’s brother to Morrigan’s father was made. There is currently no known concept art of Belial’s early designs, if he had any. Aside from character backstories, what is exactly canon in Vampire Savior from when the game starts to end is left ambiguous. The only canonical thing explained in Vampire Savior is that Morrigan and Lilith fuse together and their personalities now co-exist as one. It is never confirmed which one has won the fight so neither of their endings have been confirmed as canon. But fans are more likely to stick with Morrigan’s ending being the canon one as Lilith’s one is the much less preferred and more ignored of the two. Capcom has confirmed that Jedah will target Morrigan (who is now fused with Lilith) eventually. So them fusing with the Shintai was practically inevitable. It should be noted, while many fans believe Morrigan as the one to defeat Jedah, no one officially has beaten Jedah. The actual idea was for an awakened Anita to be the sole being to defeat Jedah and Darkstalkers 3 ended on a cliffhanger. Presumably leaving the Jedah and Anita battle for next game until it got cancelled. So while it hasn’t been confirmed when exactly Jedah would get Morrigan and Lilith, it is known that at some point he will have them fuse with the Fetus of God as they aren’t the true ones meant to stop him. Morrigan has a very rare set of winposes of different animations in her Midnight Bliss form that only appear based on specific type of instances. A few videos of it can be seen online.

She is a catwoman with dreams of becoming a musical star.
ADVERTISEMENT Biography
Appearance
Felicia is a catwoman with tan skin, green eyes, long thick blue hair, white fur and pink claws. Although her fur preserves her modesty, Felicia is fully naked and wears no clothing, making her the most revealing playable female in the Darkstalkers series. But in the animated cartoon of Darkstalkers, she wears a white bra top.
Personality
She is an energetic and optimistic catgirl who enjoys singing, dancing and making friends with people. She is also pacifistic in nature and is a strong advocate for peace between Darkstalkers and humans. She also loves children.
Concept
Felicia's design is inspired by the bakeneko (化け猫, "changed cat"), a yōkai of Japanese mythology that start their lives as normal cats but grow up to possess supernatural powers, like the ability to assume the appearance of a human being. It is also inspired by Edward Field's 1967 poem "The Curse Of The Catwoman". Felicia was originally going to be designed as a werepanther.
Story
Felicia was raised by a Catholic nun named Rose. When Rose died, Felicia left her town hoping to be a musical star. During her travels, she met many other catgirls of her kind. With her newfound friends, she set out for her dream of being on stage. Eventually, she and her friends started a musical with Felicia being the main star. In the events of Darkstalkers 3, she wondered about how she could make others happy. In her ending, Felicia founded an orphanage named "Felicity House." Gameplay
Powers and abilities
Felicia is very agile in combat with her techniques, being athletic and gymnastic in nature. She can roll like a ball in a manner similar to Sonic the Hedgehog and tackle her enemies. Her tail seems to be quite durable, as she can balance on it while delivering a double kick and even jab foes with it. She can also kick up sand for quick attacks, but due to the bluish color appearing in it, it is possible she can channel ki into her feet and expel it out through the kick. She has been seen tossing orange balls spontaneously that pop once they come in contact with something. She also displays, in her intro and the Darkstalkers OVA, the ability to morph in and out of a smaller housecat form.
Moveset
Comics
In the Udon Comics version of Darkstalkers, Felicia is still looking for her big break into stardom; unfortunately being a catgirl proves to be a very large roadblock on the path to fame. Along the way, she runs into the werewolf, Jon Talbain who believes that humans are treacherous and vile, while she thinks that the current hatred between humans and Darkstalkers are just a few "bumps in the road." Despite the fact that his interference costs her a potential gig, Felicia asks Jon to accompany her, so that she can try to prove to him that humanity is not all bad. Eventually, they end up at the Catholic orphanage where Felicia grew up. Felicia's origins are much the same as well. One notable exception is the character of the nun who raised her. Here her foster mother is named Sister Cecillia and is still alive and active in her beloved foster daughter's life. Crossover appearances
Felicia is a playable character in Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Pocket Fighter, SNK vs. Capcom, Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Namco x Capcom, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds/Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Cross Edge.
She also appears in Project X Zone 2. Trivia
Felicia howling The aspect of the monster Kit Cat of the game Makai Senki Disgaea is based on her. Her UMvC3 DLC has her play as Yellow Iris from Battle Circuit. Compared to other characters in her series, Felicia has appeared in the second-most amount of titles aside from Darkstalkers, with Morrigan being in first. She had once referenced Blanka in her Darkstalkers ending, most likely a reference to the fact that Felicia's play-style was designed off of Blanka. Felicia's eyes are sometimes colored blue in artwork or in-game still shots, which can sometimes cause confusion. Felicia makes an appearance on the MAD show by Cartoon Network. She is seen in Gaming's Next Top Princess. Nick Ramos cosplays as Felicia in downloadable content for Dead Rising 3. In the French version of The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, a GBA game developed by Capcom, a citizen of Hyrule Town is called Felicia. She has a cat as a pet and loves her neighbor who has a dog. In older art, Felicia was originally tan, muscular and had green eyes. Later on she would become skinnier, paler and have sometimes have blue eyes. The catwoman race age twice as slow as humans.[1] All of Felicia’s friends have an age that is half the age of their chronological age. For example her friend Pico is chronologically 14 but is actually meant to be a 7 year old in catwoman years while her friend Lucy is 36 but is an 18 year old in her catwoman years. In the first Darkstalkers game, Felicia aged this way too but with how Darkstalkers 1 is retconned with lots of changed lore and most of the playable Darkstalkers may have unique traits from the rest of their species and have started out with some lore differences in the first game compared to the other games, it is unknown if this still applies to Felicia in later lore. This aging system still applies canonically to her friends. The age she became a Catwoman was at six. In an interview[2] it is stated she eats the same things as normal people and prefers fresh foods over processed foods. In the same interview, when asked if she ever were to get into a relationship (with Jon Talbain) Capcom replied that they don’t think she would limit herself to other Darkstalkers and that “she’s probably a bit immature to be thinking about relationships.“ Felicia doesn’t think about her fighting to deeply and enjoys doing what she’s good at. She had a world tour called “The World Is Mine” where she visited every major city in the world. According to Alex Jimenez, he wanted Felicia to stay as an African werepanther until the very end, but someone on the Japanese side of Capcom drew her as what he described as a “white neko girl” and Capcom made him go with that despite the fact he really wanted to keep her the other way instead.[3] The “white neko girl” drawing Alex was talking about is presumably referring to the sketch in concept art where she looks just like her final design but with pink hair, black fur and extremely pale skin. This is right before Felicia’s actual final design which uses the same design but with changed colors. Since the final design of Felicia is tan and much more racially ambiguous it is assumed by some that this is a call back to her conceptual origins as a person of color.

LESS Lilith is a fighting game character from the Darkstalkers series. She is a third of energy that was split from the succubus Morrigan. This excess energy was separated from her at birth by her father, Belial, to keep her from becoming too powerful. The separated energy formed a consciousness of its own and named itself Lilith.
ADVERTISEMENT Biography
Appearance
Lilith is a near color swap of Morrigan Aensland but with obvious changes. Her hair is shortened to neck-length and is either drawn as lavender, lilac or a bright purple. Her outer wings, leotard, shoes and eyes are all red. The inside of her wings are dark green but can be seen as brighter green in one art, presumably from lighting. Her tights are light blue with darker blue bat patterns and her gloves are the same color as the bats. The cut-out on her leotard is changed from a heart to a diamond. She is also a bit shorter than her.
Personality
Lilith is a bright, happy and energetic character. She is very innocent and naïve but is also violent and seems to have some sort of obsession with blood. She doesn't intend to be mean as her personality is meant to be a mix between innocence and cruelty. She simply sees many of her actions as "playing" and enjoys fighting people she sees as being able to satisfy her curiosity. It is unknown of how much of Jedah's plan she truly knew about and the meaning of his salvation, but she didn't like how Jedah "tried to chain her to the darkness again" and at some point knew he was lying to her. In her boss fight against the player as Felicia, she mentions that she is aware that everyone and the entire demon world will go away including herself. Which seems that even if she is aware that everyone and the world will "go away" and become one with the Fetus of God, that all she cares about is being able to experience what little life she has and being able to go back to a fuller state of being. This is a contrast to Morrigan's character who is a very seasoned succubus who is bored of her life, and could care less about living on until her and Lilith finally fused together. Once Lilith and Morrigan have fused together, their personalities co-exist and exist as one.
Concept
Originally during development, Lilith was intended to be the half-angel sister of Morrigan, with one of her conceptual names rumored to be Genevieve. She was going to be the older sister but Morrigan would constantly pick on her as a child. She had angelic wings on the top of her head and would always fold them "to hide them due to her being a darkstalker." There are currently two known concepts of angel Lilith, both being black and white sketches. The first one, looked just like Morrigan except she had angel wings on the top of her head and a different, shorter haircut and no sign of a pattern on her leggings. Instead of using wings to battle she would have used her hair instead and shaped them into weapons. According to Capcom the choice of hair attacks instead of wing attacks, as well as making her part angel, was simply done because they were trying to make her more different than Morrigan.
The second concept, looks similar to the previous one except she now has a halo, the wings on the back are angel wings instead of demon wings, a ballerina outfit and a tiara. Her fighting style was that she would use ballet moves and may have not been intentionally fighting but just trying to dance and beat up her opponents by accident. Some notes state that if she had wings on her back all the time that she'd look "too much like Honey from Fighting Vipers" and wondered if she should only have the wings shown when jumping. For some odd reason this second concept is one of the more commonly used ones when fans show off "Angel Lilith" and incorrectly state that this is the design Capcom was going to use for her, but Capcom has stated (and seen on the translated notes of the very design itself) that this design was never going to be used and was strictly conceptual. It has also incorrectly been stated by some people that Lilith was going to be full angel and never a demon but she was always going to be some sort of demon, all of her angel concepts were half-breeds.
There is a scrapped character who was going to be an assist character for Lilith. It was a cherub with the usual cute baby-like design for cherubs and had curly hair. The cherub held a lyre and would appear in some attacks for Lilith. There is also a bow and arrow right next to the cherub as well as a taller featureless humanoid figure which may or may not have been a transformation or some attack from the cherub. It can be assumed the bow and arrow would later inspire Lilith's "Mystic Arrow" move. The concept art currently is untranslated so many characteristics it may have had in the text remain unknown for non Japanese speakers.
The angel concept was scrapped because there were "too many angels in video games" according to Capcom. This statement seems odd from people in certain countries as there may seem to not be many angels in retro video games but this was most likely a statement from Japanese Capcom as at the time of the production of Vampire Savior, in Japan angels were commonly seen in many arcade games in Japan, such as in the shoot 'em up genre.
Next concept was one that looked just like the current version of Lilith, pitch scenario writer/planner Haruo Murata. The only difference was that it was either going to be a male or an hermaphrodite demon and the feathers on the outfit were meant to be connected to the gloves/sleeves and not the leotard. This concept of Lilith incorrectly gets called "incubus Lilith" by some people but incubi and succubi are entirely different species in Darkstalkers with completely different physical characteristics and this design is clearly meant to, at the very least, be imitating the look of the succubus Morrigan. As of now, there has been no other confirmation on the species of what this concept was meant to be outside of simply being a demon.[1]
Finally, some of the last known concept art of Lilith was a picture of her original outfit for her Gloomy Puppet Show attack. Instead of making her opponents dance, Lilith herself would dance and the opponent would be struck in awe. Eventually Lilith would get annoyed or displeased at the opponent and then torture them as her reaction. This outfit would eventually become one of the ones used in her win poses, when she shakes the tambourine.
Story
Belial, the ruler of all Makai and Morrigan's adoptive father, foresaw that Makai would be exposed to the crisis of perishing soon. Someone with great power would be needed to maintain the unbalanced world of Makai. Using his near omnipotent foresight, he predicted that one which such power would not be born in the family of Aensland for another 1,200 years. Knowing this, he personally selected Morrigan as his immediate heir.
Morrigan was a very special succubus; she was born as an "S class" noble. But at that time, a struggle for power had already started between the noble houses. Numerous battles had occurred in various locations. It was unacceptable for a Succubus child to be given such rights to power. To complicate matters further, Morrigan had no way to control the enormous powers that she held within herself. If she were to be left unguided, she would destroy herself and the land around her. Thus, Belial decided to split her powers and isolate them in order to protect her. Morrigan's soul was split into two, one of the halves was isolated in a negative space that Belial had specifically created.
Lilith's Darkstalkers 3 Ending Ending from Darkstalkers 3 Lilith's Darkstalkers 3 Ending Belial intended to return the sealed off portion to Morrigan when she was able to control her powers but died before he could. The sealed-off power had begun to have its own will. She (Lilith) had begun to recognize herself roughly a decade after the sealing process. As Lilith found out about Makai, her feelings grew. These feelings were different from normal emotions like admiration and jealousy, they were closer to a primitive instinct to return home...
In Darkstalkers 3, the demon Jedah releases Lilith and gives her a body -- that of a smaller, more cheerful succubus. In return, Lilith was to lure Morrigan and the other Darkstalkers to him. Lilith seems to enjoy her life until she realizes that she is not the "original" -- she is only a part of another person. She discovers that she often becomes transparent and realizes she has limited time to find her "soul mate", in order to continue her existence. Morrigan also feels that Lilith is a part of her, but she does not feel she needs Lilith as badly as Lilith needs her. Jedah realizes this, and he manipulates Lilith to meet Morrigan so he can use them both to extend his power. However, Lilith knows that Jedah is lying to her. Lilith is only absorbed by Morrigan in Morrigan's ending leaving Morrigan, like Lilith, with a more cheerful personality and a new view on the world. In Lilith's ending, she seems to fail to reach Morrigan's unconscious body in time and appears to fade from existence seconds before Morrigan wakes up, though Morrigan again seems to feel something has changed within her, meaning that Lilith actually succeeded in returning. Gameplay
Powers and abilities
As she is derived from Morrigan, she shares similar attacks with Morrigan but with some different executions as well. For example, her Soul Flash is a projectile attack like Morrigan's Soul Fist but instead of a large blast, she summons a smaller shining green bat with hearts resonating around its body that only travels for a short distance. She does have attacks unique from Morrigan, such as her Mystic Arrow where she tosses her enemies across the stage with her wings in the manner of a bow and arrow. She can also have her bats attack in a swarm. She shares Morrigan's ability to transform her clothes into whatever she wants to wear at the moment.
Moveset
Her list of moves can be seen here.
Other appearances
Outside of the Darkstalkers games, Lilith appears alongside Morrigan in Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, where she is seen helping her in battle during her Silhouette Blade hyper combo (as well as appears in her entry, taunt and one win pose and as a secret character, having mind-swapped with Morrigan) and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars during her Darkness Illusion hyper combo.
She appears in Felicia's ending in Capcom Fighting Evolution, and she is also included in Namco x Capcom and Cross Edge.
Trivia
Lilith's name comes from a figure in Mesopotamian and Judaic mythology. Accounts and interpretations generally depict her as a primordial demon. Two of Lilith's moves contrast Morrigan's moves in their title. While Morrigan has Shadow Blade and Darkness Illusion, both having to deal with the "dark", Lilith has the same two moves only they're titled Shining Blade and Luminous Illusion, both dealing with the theme of "light." It has been assumed that Lilith's light themes are a callback to her angel concept. During Demitri's Midnight Bliss, Lilith will transform into a version of herself wearing baggy pajamas while holding a pillow. During Anakaris' Pharaoh's Curse, Lilith transforms into a small bat with a red bow on her head. Lilith only appeared in Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers 3) and Vampire Savior 2. The new characters including Lilith herself were mostly removed from Vampire Hunter 2 due to it being a semi-remake of Night Warriors but their residual data remains most notably Lilith, who unlike the other removed characters still has her sprites and animations in the game's data and can be played as via hacking. The game can be beaten without error using Lilith though she lacks voices and her Showtime move will instead play random music tracks when buttons are pressed. Contrary to popular belief, Lilith is not canonically meant to be a succubus, being only classified as "?" in the official Japanese source materials. She is only "officially" depicted as a succubus in media outside of the canon or in some translations but she is more accurately described as an anthropomorphized fragment of power/a soul that was once the energy of a succubus and mimics a succubus. "?" is most likely a simplification of her actual type being unusual or Capcom not knowing how else to describe her. Despite being commonly known as Lilith Aensland, Lilith's last name is not "Aensland" as her name is only Lilith. Despite her goal of being "complete", Lilith and Morrigan never become complete. One reason for this is the part of the soul that was in Belial had been lost so their soul can't return to 100%. Given how Lilith seems aware of the fate of everyone in the demon world "going away" and becoming one with the Shintai, it seems like she is ironically less concerned with being "complete" and more concerned with finding and fusing with her original body before everyone is 'destined' to become one with the Fetus of God. It is ambiguous if Lilith ever knew that Morrigan's soul will never be complete on its own, but the mass amount of souls fused together would make their own soul more than complete, perhaps even surpass their own and fill up the void from Belial's demise. Capcom has stated that Jedah would target Morrigan (who is canonically fused with Lilith by the end) eventually. While in many cases Lilith is often considered to just be female, she was made with the idea of having an ambiguous gender once she gained the androgynous design she now has today. While she mimics a female character as a clone, her gender is not actually set in stone and she can alter herself through shapeshifting. When Vampire Savior was released her gender was even labeled as "unknown" but once people came to see her mostly as female she would later just be called a female. This is a bit similar to how Poison was made with the intent of being a transwoman, but later on Capcom would change her gender to being "up to interpretation" because of many debacles and rumors on her gender. However, Lilith is a character with less gender debates (although they still exist) with not many realizing she was even made with the intention of having ambiguous gender. Mainly due to Lilith being a clone fighter of a female character and the misconception of her being a succubus, a solely female species both in Darkstalkers and out, makes her seen as undebatably female for many people. Some people were aware Lilith was meant to be an androgynous character but not aware of her own gender being ambiguous. There is also a fraction of people who were under the impression Lilith was a male. Adding to the comparisons, Poison's own clone fighter, Roxy, is a character with much less consistent gender with Capcom not being certain whether to make her cis or trans and her debates are not as much as talked about as Poison's due to being a less popular color swap. Lilith's demeanor and obsession with blood seems to be a callback to Morrigan's scrapped concept of being a cute vampire. As she was split from her when she was just born, she is often seen as the innocence or happiness Morrigan lost over the years and once fused with her again, in Morrigan's ending, she has a brighter look on life. Lilith's voice actor, Hiroko Konishi, previously voiced another androgynous fighting game character, Bridget from Guilty Gear. While Lilith can be seen as being born in multiple instances, she personally views the Majigen as her birthplace. To list the multiple instances; Lilith firstly starts out as a part of a complete newborn Morrigan but wasn't "Lilith" yet > then she would be split from Morrigan into 1/3 of a fragment sealed in a pocket dimension > roughly a decade after that split, Lilith does gain sentience and Morrigan's "heart" (figuratively or literally is unknown) is said to be what tapped into her conscious, as time would go on her primal feelings of wanting to go home would grow > after many years she would finally gain a physical body from Jedah Dohma in the Majigen > and in a way she would finally be "reborn" as now co-existing part of Morrigan's personality, powers and soul that returned to her.

Baby Bonnie Hood, also known as B.B. Hood, or Bulleta in Japan, is a character from the Darkstalkers series of gothic horror-themed 2D fighting games.
ADVERTISEMENT Biography
Personality
Although she has a cute and innocent appearance, B.B. Hood is a murderous psychopath. As a Darkhunter, she kills Darkstalkers for money. She intentionally pretends to act like a defenseless girl, and many of her attacks are intentionally deceptive to look accidental; like stabbing her opponents by acting like she's tripping. As a homicidal maniac, it is unwise for anyone to stand against her in her pursuit of money. Many look upon her as an antithesis to Donovan. She hunts solely for profit while Donovan hunts to find meaning in his existence.
Concept
B.B. Hood's physical appearance (and her name as well) is based around Little Red Riding Hood. She was designed by Akiman. Initially, the graphic department had her as a sort of rival character for Jon Talbain, as it is stated in an early draft that she was going to be a "Werewolf Hunter". During development, after the design of B.B. Hood was finalized, the designers had a problem; they could not figure out how this character should move in-game. Akiman then recorded B.B. Hood's moves and poses on several sheets of paper, and pitched them to the graphic department.
Akiman stated in his design notes that every Darkstalkers character is inspired by something in fantasy, myth, and horror. When creating B.B. Hood however, he wanted to do something a little more sinister. Rather than be based off of an archetype, or a myth, B.B. Hood is inspired by the frightening qualities of the human race itself. When motivated by greed or ambition and fueled by malice, no monster can compare to how terrifying humans can be. This is what B.B. Hood personifies, from her deceptive appearance to her relentless, heartless quest for money. It could even be said that B.B. Hood represents humanity's dark side. These notes were included in the official Japanese strategy guide for Darkstalkers 3.
Story
B.B. Hood's profession was founded because droves of creatures from Makai had already flowed into the human world. Many of these creatures have since earned the interest of humans, be it scientific, prejudice, or simple curiosity. Items usable for decorations, materials that don't exist in the human world (such as the liquid and blood from their internal organs) are of keen interest, especially for research for bio-weapons and such. A "Darkhunter" is a job that was born to meet the demand for these clients.
B.B Ending from Darkstalkers 3 B.B. Hood (Bulleta) Ending These hunters hunt down creatures and get the reward money corresponding to the creature they hunt. The high risk is countered by the exceptional pricetag attached to most demons. But because they hunt the creatures of the night, failure is not an option. Failing would mean one thing; death. To fight against these creatures, having a fit body, martial arts skills and firearms are not enough. It is possible for a Class-C creature to slaughter an entire army of first class elite soldiers. A strong mind and spirit is needed to keep one's self from losing their own sanity, and a dark heart is required so that they are not poisoned by the evil aura that the creatures emanate.
Several hundred darkhunters are said to exist in the world, their skills varying greatly. Some of these hunters can barely kill a wild beast from Makai, let alone a Darkstalker. Within these hunters, B.B. Hood is a "Special S-Class" hunter. Her stare alone can cause the lower ranking darkstalkers to be filled with fear, and she is able to deflect many kinds of physical attacks. Many say that she was born to be a hunter.
Her malicious heart was dark enough that Jedah considered her a Darkstalker and transported her into the Majigen as a worthy soul. When she was pulled into the Majigen by Jedah, she simply looked around and said: "Heh, they're all mine... it's been a long time since a job this big". Powers and abilities
B.B. Hood has no special abilities in the same manner Donovan and Hsien-Ko do but she is skilled with different types of weaponry. Her weapons of choice are a seemingly endless number of various armaments and ammunition that she keeps hidden in her basket. She seems to favor her uzi machine guns in particular and her spetnaz combat knife. Her basket also doubles as a rocket launcher. Additionally, she tosses an endless supply of landmines from her pockets. Though a sweet little blonde on the outside, she's a powerful character and is highly psychotic. B.B. Hood is feared by weaker Darkstalkers everywhere. Other appearances

Bison (from the Street Fighter series) to kill Phoenix Wright (from the Ace Attorney series) before he could clear Tekken character Heihachi Mishima off the charges of smuggling illegal substances. Morrigan Aensland, who agreed to help Phoenix and his assistant Maya Fey return to the human world, supercharged Maya's magatama with spiritual energy, allowing her and Phoenix to defend themselves. Hood was eventually forced to retreat and the group safely made it out of Makai.

Trivia
B.B. Hood is the series' first and only playable character who is "pure" human (with no apparent "super abilities"). B.B. Hood has a little dog for a pet called Harry, who is two years old during the events of Darkstalkers 3. A common fan theory is that B.B. Hood holds a grudge against Jon Talbain, due to her grandmother being murdered by a werewolf. This fan theory is never proven and appears to be based off the Little Red Riding Hood story, however her official bios says that B.B. Hood still does errands at her Grandmother's house. She bears a resemblence to Chacha, the protagonist of the 1991 shōjo manga series Akazukin Chacha. Both are loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood. The two men who appear in B.B. Hood's Beautiful Hunting move are named John and Arthur. The man who appears in one of her winning poses is simply named Mr. K. B.B. Hood is the only character to have a double jump without the use of the DX menu in Darkstalkers 3. Lord Raptor's companion Le Malta seems to be in love with either Baby Bonnie Hood or her dog, Harry as seen during their entry pose when they are up against her. During Demitri's Midnight Bliss, B.B. Hood ages significantly into a tall maid or waitress which are subservient in their roles. This is a contrast to B.B. Hood's young but domineering self. During Anakaris' Pharaoh's Curse, B.B. Hood transforms into a small doll that somewhat resembles a Russian matryoshka doll. This doll is also seen in B.B. Hood's guard cancel, Jealousy & Fake and her Vampire Savior 2 exclusive-move, Malice Doll. During Jedah's San=Passare, Jedah inflates B.B. Hood's cheeks until they burst. Frank West cosplays as B.B. Hood in downloadable content for Dead Rising 3. In the mobile game The Battle Cats, the unit Red Riding Mina is extremely similar to B.B. Hood, taking on an innocent look. This changes in her Attack, gaining a psychopathic expression on her face, as she somehow pulls out a bazooka that was concealed in her small basket, firing it, and then quickly returning to the innocent look on her face that she had before.

She, along with Donovan, takes the role of a "Dark Hunter", in that she hunts Darkstalkers.
ADVERTISEMENT Story
Sometime around the 1730s, Hsien-Ko was born with her twin Shao Lin-Lin (called Mei-Ling in the English localization of Vampire Savior). During this time, ghosts and spirits of the dead arose from their resting places and attacked a rural Chinese village. After her mother was killed by a powerful Darkstalker, she and her sister decided to use Tensei-no-Jutsu to save her, but they used a prohibited sub-division of this technique, Igyo Tenshin-no-Jutsu, and fought to release their mother's soul from the dark.
This turned the twins into a jiāngshī, a type of Chinese zombie (with powers that more closely resemble a ghost). This, however, also gave the two unusual abilities which the two use to fight for their purposes. Mei-Ling is actually the ward-paper (fú) on Hsien-Ko's hat. Hsien-Ko's powers cannot be fully controlled unless Mei-Ling does so herself when she becomes the ward-paper. If she separates from Hsien-Ko, many of Hsien-Ko's abilities no longer work (other times it is said that she loses control of herself), so they essentially fight as one. Hsien-Ko is the "body" and Mei-Ling the "mind." Once in a while, however, Mei-Ling does come out to team up with Hsien-Ko, as seen by their Dark Force ability in Darkstalkers 3.
Hsien-ko's Darkstalkers 3 Ending Darkstalkers 3 Ending Hsien-ko's Darkstalkers 3 Ending The two fight many battles during Night Warriors, and eventually win the freedom of their mothers' soul, but at the cost of their own lives. Before death however, the spirit of their mother claims she will not let oblivion become their reward, and the twins' souls are reborn as infants in a new life.
As of Vampire Savior, the two live a happy, normal life in their reincarnation. However, on their 16th birthday, weird things begin to happen to them. They have the same dream and the next night, they fall into a coma and their souls were transported to the Dark Realm, which called to them. They found themselves in weird costumes, and although their memories of their past life are sketchy, things begin to slowly come back to them. They regained their unique power of transformation they had lost during the death of the life preceding this one. Now as saviors and hunters once more, they must find their way home to Earth Realm. Gameplay
Hsien-Ko is a unique, gimmicky character in Darkstalkers. Her unusual attributes come from her ability to air dash, teleporting ground dash, many projectiles, She is a great offensive character; boasting tricky mobility using Pendulum (Senpuu Bu) cancels, high/low mixups using her hard punch item (Anki Hou), and an excellent super in Tenrai Ha, which can set up overhead unblockables that are core to her game. On the downside, she is tied for the worst health in Vampire Savior with Morrigan and Lilith, along with having poor defensive options because of her wide standing hurtbox, unreliable anti airs, and a poor guard cancel. Her tournament results have varied wildly due to the nature of her playstyle.
Upon her transition to Marvel vs Capcom 3, this was not the case. Her mobility is among the worst in the game and her attaks deal far less damage than in Darkstalkers, even with an X factor. In addition, her health is only average and is still lacking defense options. She has been placed at the bottom of nearly every tier list and is widely considered the weakest character in the game.
Hsien-Ko's odd stance and movements are attributed to her being a jiāngshī (or kuang-si), which are also known as "Hopping Vampires". However, she mostly runs and "walks" with her big claws, hopping only when near enemies. She can also run on air, almost acting as a human. Powers and abilities
Due to her transformation, Hsien-Ko has abilities beyond the human form and is one of the few humans who can stand on equal footing with a darkstalker. Her ghostly traits allow her to run across air and even disappear temporarily (during dashes). Her sleeves contain far more weapons that should be able to be contained in them, which she uses for attacks. The weapons Hsien-Ko uses include a saw, knives, a sword, a chain, a giant gong that can emit sonic-waves when struck, a spiked flail, and variety of other weapons. She also once in a while throws some cameo items such as a statue of Akuma, Vega's claw, and Chun-Li's bracelets. Other Appearances
She appears as a playable character in Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Pocket Fighter, Super Gem Fighter: Mini Mix as well as in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds/Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
She also appears as a playable character in the crossover strategy game Namco x Capcom, where she came to Japan aboard the Spencer Rain to investigate the immense sorcery that she sensed, and assures the Resident Evil duo and Regina that she is not going to haunt anyone. Interestingly enough, she is partnered with Fong Ling from Resident Evil Dead Aim; in the game, Lord Raptor is infatuated with her, but she wants nothing to do with him.
She and her sister also appear in Ken Masters' stage (in dress clothes and as humans) in Street Fighter Alpha 2 as guests to Eliza's birthday, along with other Capcom characters such as Strider Hiryu and Captain Commando.
Hsien-Ko also appears in the background of the Capcom vs. SNK 2 stage in Shanghai, and makes a cameo appearance in Pyron's ending and the Hong Kong stage in Capcom Fighting Evolution. Trivia
Lei-Lei Magical Hammer Lei-Lei Magical Hammer (Cell Phone) Screen Shot The Deshi Deshiko character from Rosario + Vampire's true form of kyonshi is inspired by Hsien-Ko. Many of Hsien-Ko's design have drawn inspirations and later becomes inspiration itself to later character designs. Her ability to throw items from hammerspace, and even deploy chained claws, seems to draw parallels to Mousse from Ranma 1/2. Hsien-Ko's large claws and sleeves appears to inspire Arc System Works' Taokaka from the Blazblue series of games. Taokaka can not only produce claws, but also saw blades and other types of blades. As Hsien-Ko came many years before, it is more than likely Taokaka is an homage (it is arguable she is also an homage to Felicia too). Xiao Lon from King of Fighters (especially in Regulation A) also seems inspired by her in terms of appearance and especially fighting style. Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling are likely fraternal twins, due to both of them possessing different facial features and hair colors. Lord Raptor seems to have some sort of romantic interest in Hsien-Ko, a fellow zombie, but she does not seem to share this interest. This was also referenced in Namco x Capcom. She also mentions Raptor again in a win quote from Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, saying that her opponent was annoying, but not nearly as annoying as Raptor, once again showing they may have some sort of relationship with each other. Hsien-Ko's winning pose in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is visually similar to Chun-Li's victory pose from the Street Fighter series. Hsien-Ko has a special cell phone puzzle game called "Lei-Lei Magical Hammer", similar to "Puzzle Anakaris".

The Kreutz family is one of the seven noble families of Makai. Though its title is a noble, it would be more suitable to call it an army of warriors and fighters. The current master Xell stands at a height of 5 meters and is a war dragon. He has the most unusual appearance out of all the noble classes. And those who are of his family also have appearances that are far from a human form. But there is no vulgarity and roughness within the family. Unlike the savage forms, they are all first class fighters who are highly trained. They are an organized group who follow orders under strict discipline. They are very loyal to their master. Failing to complete an order or betrayal is paid off with death. Though their numbers are few, they possess powerful one hit attacks and are feared as the "bullet of Makai."
Baraba Kreutz, titled as the "Wolf Lord", is the leader of the royal guardsmen of the Kreutz family. His eyes were the eyes of those who survived countless life-or-death situations. 20 years ago, he had wandered into the human world. But he had forgotten most his memories of his time in the human world. Though he vaguely remembers about the woman who cared for him when he was injured in the human world. When he came back to Makai, he played an active role as a fighter of the Kreutz family. Demitri had even said, "He is my best rival in my life." Demitri felt a certain kind of beauty in Baraba's fighting. A kind not found in the lower darkstalkers. But roughly ten years after he returned to Makai, he suddenly disappeared. Master Xell had searched for him for many years, but he could not be found. Some say that he had returned to the human world to reunite with the woman again. But no one knows the truth of the events.
J Ending in Darkstalkers 3 J. Talbain (Gallon) Ending Jon's mother died shortly after giving birth to him, and there was no way to look for his father. When he found out he was a darkstalker, he felt no anger towards his parents. To him, his parents were just conceptual parents. He was alone since he could remember. He maintained his human self by cursing his fate. His heart was not strong enough to accept everything and to move as his heart desires. Following his inner voice, he devoted himself to fighting to take himself past his limits. This was part of his pride as a human to fight against his other half.
After the events with Pyron, he had lifted his curse and regained his human form. But this was a temporary illusion that he caused. It was impossible to cleanse his own blood. His will couldn't change the future. During the battles in Majigen, he came face to face with his dark self within. The fate that was pulled by his battles. To flee from his curse, he keeps taking himself past his own limits. Though there may be irreversible consequences, he had no choice but to keep going forward. His fate afterwards is unknown. In Darkstalkers 3, his ending shows that he takes care of two children but it isn't known if this happened after his ending or if the children are waiting for him to return from the Majigen. Depending on what game or comic you are looking at, he is depicted as being vicious or calm. He is the most revered Darkstalker in America, but he does not have any appearances outside the series like Felicia, Morrigan, and Lilith (aside from small non-playable cameos). Powers and abilities
Jon can generate ki-energy and channel it through his body. His Wolf Cannon attack has him creating an aura of ki around his body and he can tackle opponents in this state. In its original appearance, he appeared as if he was engulfed in blue or red flame (depending on the attack's strength) but became a beam of light in Vampire Hunter and Vampire Saviour. His Climb Laser is a backwards flip kick with a wave of ki exuding from his leg, similar to the Flash Kick that Guile uses. He can also summon a giant flaming dragon head or a pack of flaming wolves. He is also a skilled nunchaku user and can strike with precisive quickness. His claws can grow in size for short periods, making them potent stabbing weapons. Trivia
It is possible that Jon Talbain was also inspired by real-life martial artist Bruce Lee. The resemblance can be seen through his use of nunchaku, his taunts and poses, his "flying kick", and possibly even the way he howls during attacks. Talbain's human form is also lean and relatively slight, comparable to that of Bruce Lee. Furthermore, he dresses in a traditional Chinese Kung Fu outfit and fights shirtless, although this is perhaps attributable to martial artist stereotypes in general. His surname, Talbain, could be derived from Talbot, as in Larry Talbot, the title character of the 1941 Universal film The Wolf Man and its sequels. A character from BlazBlue: Continum Shift, Valkenhayn R. Hellsing, is a nod to Talbain; he can transform into a werewolf as well as perform a dash attack similar to Talbain. Valkenhayn even receives an alternate color referencing Talbain. Jon Talbain is one of the most popular characters in the Darkstalkers series amongst American fans, being one of the most demanded characters to make a return in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, ranking 11th on Capcom Unity's fan poll. However, his popularity in Japan is questionable, especially seeing as he was one of the characters cut from Vampire Savior 2, with Q-Bee taking his roster spot. In Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Jon Talbain appears as a DLC costume for Amaterasu. Other Appearances
Jon Talbain is seen as a background character in Pocket Fighter, and makes two cameo appearances in Capcom Fighting Evolution. He can be seen sitting on the ceiling in the Underworld stage, and more prominently, facing off against Ryu in his ending sequence.
- #7Anita
Keys: Anita
Anita is a character in the Darkstalkers series of fighting games. She is the constant companion of Donovan.
ADVERTISEMENT Story
One day on one of his many journeys, Donovan came across a young girl named Anita. She was an orphan, who was almost completely emotionless. Shunned by her orphanage as a witch, she exhibited a strange and unexplained power. As Donovan came onto the scene, Anita was threatened by a hideous monster. Coming in and easily dispatching the monster, he too is feared by Anita's cowardly guardians.
As Donovan turned to leave, Anita began to motion towards Donovan without any words. The people explained that Anita had never exhibited any kind of emotion or word ever since her family was slaughtered by an unknown Darkstalker. Nonchalantly taking his sword Dhylec and slicing off the head of Anita's doll, he proved to the people that Anita's heart wasn't lost as she showed anger at Donovan decapitating her doll by responding with a violent psychic force. Donovan easily subdued the attack and told Anita that anger was the quickest and most easily summoned emotion, and that her anger was proof that she could still heal her own heart.
With nowhere else to go, Donovan welcomed Anita to accompany him not only to find herself, but to help Donovan fight off the evil Darkstalkers as Anita had the unique ability to find them as well. Donovan would help Anita have her revenge, and not follow the same troubled path as he.
Donovan couldn't figure it out, but he felt that Anita was special, and that she had to be protected. Thus, Donovan became Anita's guardian, and the "bane" of evil everywhere. He was able to feel the presence of oncoming evil on the horizon, and knew Anita felt the same. Anita also has kept that headless doll ever since. Powers and abilities
Anita is capable of accessing immense psychic power ranging to psychokinesis, mind reading & psychic communication, esp, clairvoyance, etc. It is unknown how she came to inherit these abilities. It is also not known if other humans are capable of developing powers both like and unlike Anita's. However, Donovan and Hsien-Ko do possess abilities beyond regular humans but their abilities stem from different sources.
She is also thought to be the emerging 'ruler of humans' and because of this, Jedah perceives her as a threat. Other appearances
Marvel vs. Capcom games
Anita, minus Donovan, has made cameo appearances in the Capcom games Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. In the Japanese port of the former game, she is a secret playable character. However, since she was just a test character, she was very incomplete and can be considered a cheap character due to her moves. In the latter game, she appears as one of the assist characters.
In Marvel vs. Capcom Origins (a compilation of Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes), Anita is unlockable and a playable character in Marvel Super Heroes regardless of version, her character finally fixed and fit for actual usage.
Trivia
Anita's character design is similar to Wednesday Addams from the The Addams Family series, especially the headless doll that she always holds. Anita (in her mid-20s) was originally going to be a playable character in Darkstalkers 3 and Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection (as she has a Vs. potrait) but ended up as a NPC (Non-Playable Character) in Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection due to a lack of time and effort. Early sketches of Anita during development of Darkstalkers 3 depicted her at an older age. The version of older Anita meant for Vampire Savior is often incorrectly called “Teen Anita”. She is actually meant to be an adult Anita. The actual version of teen Anita was seen in Donovan’s ending for Vampire Hunter. In Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower, Anita does a secret dance in the BGM by listening to Donovan's winning theme 1 and 2.

ADVERTISEMENT Story
Deep within the mountains of Romania lies a castle that appears only on a full moon. The castle, named after the owner of the land, was called Zeltzereich. This castle belonged to a Makai noble, Demitri Maximoff. Roughly 100 years ago, he had challenged Belial Aensland. He lost the battle and was exiled from Makai to the human world with his castle. Sunlight was something that was troublesome for people of Makai, especially for Demitri, who was wounded severely from his battle with Belial. If he were to be directly exposed, his body would be destroyed from the inside and he would disappear.
To avoid the sunlight and humans, he used what he had left of his powers and created a field to cover his castle. He used this field to recover his strength and heal his wounds. For 50 years, he stayed within his casket. As he slowly regained his strength, he would step out only on a full moon with a field around his body.
By this time, there were already people that would wander into the castle. They would somehow hear rumors of treasures within. They would bring crosses, stakes, garlic, holy water, and silver bullets thinking they were safe and recklessly attack Demitri. Demitri couldn't help but smile as such weapons had no effect on him. To Demitri, humans were a low class vulgar race, yet he enjoyed their blood. He savored the blood of innocent girls the most, as it reminded him of the finest Makaian wine. Those who had their blood sucked by Demitri had their body and soul consumed by evil. They would become loyal servants to Demitri. Currently, 40 people settle in Demitri's castle and care for him.
Demitri Ending Ending from Darkstalkers 3 Demitri Ending When Demitri recovered 80% of his powers, he was able to temporarily create an aura around him that would protect him from sunlight. Demitri had conquered both night and day and had no weaknesses. There were no means for humans to defeat him. After 100 years of humiliation for his loss, he had gained much. He acquired various new abilities and knowledge. The Prince of Darkness steadily readied himself to take over Makai once again. The presence of an alien life form on Earth was an unexpected event for Demitri. Demitri seized this opportunity to further gain strength and fought against Pyron and consumed the alien life form. He was confident that he was strong enough to challenge and defeat the ruler of Makai, Belial. When he returned to Makai, he found out that Belial had died and his daughter, Morrigan had taken heir to the Aensland family and the ruler of Makai. As Demitri prepared himself to challenge Morrigan, he and his castle were sucked into the Majigen by Jedah. Believing that defeating Jedah was an important step, he went off to fight him. Powers and abilities
Demitri is capable of flight and is physically very strong. He is gifted with pyrokinesis, capable of launching large blasts of flame and flaming bats (both different versions of his Chaos Flare) from his hands. His cape is amorphic, capable of forming demon wings or a pointed tip with his Demon Cradle and Bat Spin attacks respectively. He can slash and pierce enemies with this. While the aura surrounding his body is mainly for protecting him from the sun, he can also utilize it to enhance his Demon Cradle and Bat Spin, covering them in energy and increasing their power. For brief periods, he can revert to his true form which is a large winged and fanged demon. He also has the unique ability to temporarily change the gender of male opponents. He will then revert to his true form and suck out a large portion of blood from whoever he has transformed. He has become wiser than ever since his war against Belial. He is able to turn people into vampires like himself for control, summon supernatural bats to attack his foes, transform into a vampire version of himself or a small bat, fly throughout the night, as well as turn his opponents into women, both human or supernatural alike.
As seen in his intro animation, he can transform into a bat like traditional vampires. Another common vampire motif he has is that he is able to convert whichever human he bites to be his servant but it isn't known if this ability works on darkstalkers. He was even able to consume the mighty Pyron's energy after besting him in combat. Midnight Bliss
In Vampire Savior, along with the Darkstalker series, Demitri uses an attack known as Midnight Bliss, where he transforms a character into another, more arousing form — if the victim is male, he turns them into a female version of themselves —, then drains their blood/life-force, which causes them to shrivel up into a skeletal husk, before being burned and returned to normal. This move is also used in SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos and Capcom Fighting Evolution. Certain female characters, like Morrigan and Lilith, actually receive comedic forms. Demitri also has the Midnight Bliss as a skill in Namco x Capcom that can be used on the map screen; however, it merely drains a single enemy's health and does not transfer it.
Crossover appearances
Capcom crossovers
Demitri appears as a playable character in SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos, Capcom Fighting Evolution, and as a card in Street Fighter × All Capcom.
Demitri was also meant to appear as a playable character in the canceled fighting game Capcom Fighting All-Stars: Code Holder.[1]
Namco's Cross series
Demitri appeared as a playable character in Namco x Capcom, Cross Edge, Project X Zone (paired with Dante from Devil May Cry), Project × Zone 2 (paired with Morrigan) and as a card in the SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash games.
Animations
Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge OVA
In the Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revege anime OVA, Demitri has blocked out the sun over the city he resides for a solid century and the villagers have had enough. Now awake, Demitri sets into motion his plans to retake the demon world for himself, which he announces at a party where he has invited several human worshipers - which he promptly kills. Morrigan ultimately interferes and battles him, but when the Huitzils attack them, they focus their attention on ridding them from entering Makai and destroying Demitri's castle, respectively.
The Huitzil later study the recordings of Demitri's battle with the Huitzil and discover he is the strongest being on Earth. Pyron scoffs at this and unleashes his power to remove the clouds blocking the sun. This delays Demitri from attempting to retake the demon world due to his vulnerability to sun. When Pyron invades Demitri's city, hoping to find a good competitor on his ascent to be the world's leader, Demitri takes the bait and sets out to meet the cosmic entity in open battle. He does well at first, pushing back Pyron's energy form and blocking his spiral attack then landing a punch on his face and stabbing Pyron's chest with his claws in his demon form but the tables get turned on him.
Pyron's energy attacks send him slamming into his castle's foundation and making it topple over into the city. But unlike the other Darkstalkers Pyron fought who had their fates unrevealed, Demitri survived his onslaught with Pyron after Morrigan arrives at his ruined castle and when she approaches Demitri, he revives from his unconsciousness and bites her on the neck. But he relents and seems to form a friendship with Morrigan. She tells him his desire to be the leader of Makai may come true after all since the demon world has been in disarray since the beginning of the story and a change in leadership is beneficial to helping it survive. He is last seen with Morrigan witnessing Donovan's victory over Pyron. He is voiced by Paul Dobson in the English dub.
Darkstalkers: The Animated Series
In the American Darkstalkers 1995 cartoon, Demitri was awakened by Pyron to be his servant, offered rewards for doing so. Demitri is portrayed as a coward whose power stems from his control of Pyron's weapons, and no personal strength. Exemplifying this, he once sought power from the Crystal Skull at Count Dracula's urging; thus armed, he nearly won before being overpowered by Harry Grimoire, the show's bumbling child protagonist. In the show, Morrigan is his rival for Pyron's favor and the two often berate each other. Demitri had a dark, brownish-green skin tone which (to some) made him look like he was sick. He is also said to be Dracula's loving, faithful nephew. Towards the end of the cartoon series, Dracula summons him and says that he (Demitri) must take the reins of power as the new Lord of Vampires as Dracula is exhausted by his battles with Van Helsing.
Trivia
Demitri is based on Count Dracula. In the 1995 cartoon, he is the nephew of Dracula. Demitri especially enjoys AB blood types. He also prefers blood from virgins. The names of the girls on Demitri's stage are Patricia, Elizabeth, Francoise and Angelica. In Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, one of Vergil's alternate color models is based on Demitri. In Monster Hunter Frontier, Capcom released costumes of Demitri and Morrigan for the game. Their costumes came in four different colors; "Demonic Series" featuring their regular colors, "Shadow Series" featuring reds, "Chaos Series" featuring light blue and "Soul Series" featuring white. His true form can only be seen during the "Midnight Bliss" and "Demon Billion", and occasionally when Demitri takes damage as well as his ground recovery in SVC: Chaos. It can also be seen briefly when he uses light punches and kicks in the Darkstalkers games. On the last track of the Darkstalkers 3 disc, there's a match between Jedah and Demitri in audio only. Due to what move Jedah defeats Demitri with, it's considered by most fans that Demitri dies at Jedah's hands in the game's canon. Demitri's physical appearance is slightly changed in SVC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom (due to the game being delevoped by SNK). His skin is pale and the sclera and pupils of his eyes always appear to be glowing red (his pupils are naturally red, but the sclera of his eyes will usually become red only when he is enraged or when he reverts to his demonic vampire form). His blocking sprites show him in his demonic form wrapping one of his wings around himself, as oppose to his Capcom Darkstalkers blocking sprites, which show him wrapping his cape around his body, while still in human form. In SVC Chaos, his last name is misspelt as "Maximov". Demitri seems to be the only Darkstalker to retain a constant theme. His song in Night Warriors (Vampire Hunter) is a modified version of his original theme, and his theme in Vampire Savior is a remix of his old theme as well. In Capcom vs SNK, Morrigan's stage theme is actually another remix of Demitri's theme. He is one of the three characters to retain their stage. The other two are Morrigan and Donovan. In prevailing folklores, a vampire would be the mortal enemy of a werewolf, often battling to the death. However, there is no known major feud so far between Demitri and the resident werewolf of the series, Jon Talbain. In fact, Demitri has some respect for Jon's lineage and battle skills, as seen in his backstory, as Jon was the son of Baraba Kreutz, an old rival from the past. Before his rivalry with Morrigan, Demitri and Baraba Kreutz were in an amicable and respectful rivalry. It was actually a rivalry he enjoyed. His move "Bat Spin" has a striking resemblance to Dhalsim's "Drill Kick." Unlike Dhalsim's, his cannot go at different angles, has a different command, but is comparably hard-hitting and gives him brief frames of invincibility. Some variations of the move have him home in on the enemy at times. In Street Fighter V, Demitri appears as an alternative costume for Ed.

These are the words Anakaris spoke when he became the pharaoh. It can be seen that he had already possessed overwhelming charisma and leadership.
"Ultimate and immortal. The only and absolute. I am the true king of this golden kingdom which shines brilliantly. Anakaris the first. Gameplay
Anakaris Ending Ending from Darkstalkers 3 Anakaris Ending Anakaris is the slowest character in Darkstalkers in terms of mobility (from his walk to his jump). While this would seem to be a great disadvantage, many skilled Anakaris players have been able to find benefits for his slowness. His jump, for example, is more or less an aerial float that lasts a little over three seconds before landing. In between the launch and the land, Anakaris can either float backwards or stay suspended in the air for a fixed time. While suspended and floating, Anakaris can move horizontally on either directions and can even ascend if needed. This tactic makes Anakaris a superior challenge in the air.
To counter balance Anakaris' slow walk and dash, he possesses a unique backwards dash when performed at the corner of a screen. Upon dashing backwards, he vanishes from one end of the corner and reappears to the opposite end. This makes for a quick getaway, if his opponent plans on trapping him in the corner. Powers and abilities
Anakaris has many mystical abilities. He is capable of hovering in the air, has the ability to teleport, and his limbs can stretch great lengths in a manner similar to Dhalsim. His limbs can become intangible as they can be seen passing through solid ground easily. He is also capable of splitting his body in half and his companion spirit or "khaibit" will temporarily take control of his lower half. He can also form his lower half into a gold pyramid and perform aerial dives on his foes in this state. When he guards against attacks, his body becomes a hard golden sarcophagus and he can even mimic this state during one of his kick attacks.
He is able to summon large sarcophagi to drop down on his opponents from above. He can entrap his foes inside one of these sarcophagi as well. In addition, he can combine his arms when they are stretched out and form his hands into the head of a cobra to bite his foes. His hands can disembody from him and quickly float towards an enemy. If they grab the enemy, Anakaris will then entangle the captive with linen cloth, shake him/her around, and then slam them on to the ground. He can summon ghostly energies from his mouth that can mutate his opponent into a harmless form (During gameplay, they can not attack. They can only jump or walk forward). He can summon a variant of this attack from his hand that has pyrokinetic properies. If he is prone, he can temporarily open his body and a burst of energy will erupt from him. He can also invoke a similar technique while standing and entrap his opponent in it. Some of his fellow undead can also entrap his enemies and allow Anakaris to unleash a barrage of spells on the hapless opponent. He can also absorb his opponents projectile attacks and reflect them back. Other appearances
Anakaris also made appearances in Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes and Capcom Fighting Evolution. Trivia
During Demitri's Midnight Bliss, Anakaris is transformed into a woman that is similar to that of Egyptian wall paintings. When Pharaoh's Curse is used on Anakaris, he transforms into a small tablet with Egyptian hieroglyphics on it. During Jedah's San=Passare, Jedah inflates Anakaris's beard until it explodes. In Japan, Anakaris starred in his own cell phone game, Puzzle Anakaris: The Chaos Pyramid.

BLOOD TYPE None (he is undead) LIKES N/A DISLIKES N/A MEASUREMENTS N/A FIGHTING STYLE N/A Bishamon is a character in the Darkstalkers series of fighting games. He is a samurai ghost inhabiting a cursed suit of armor, and hails from Japan. His named is derived from Bishamonten, the Japanese God of War.
ADVERTISEMENT Story
When Bishamon was looking around in an old antique shop, as if drawn by fate, he found a piece of armor and a sword. At this moment, he lost his own thought. When he realized where he was, he was at his house, the armor and sword sitting beside him. When he went back to the store to ask what happened, he found out that he had aggressively forced the owner of the shop to give the armor and sword to him. Bishamon himself had no memory of this. It made no sense to him, but as he stared at the armor, it felt meaningless to him.
At the time, his wife, Orin, worried about Bishamon as he sat in front of the armor for days. She asked him to let go of the armor and sword but, Bishamon heard nothing of it. Two weeks later, he decided to ignore his wife and wear the armor.
The moment he wore the armor, he realized his mistake and with the last of his strength, shouted, "Run...run, Orin!!"
Bishamon's mind was full of hate and accursed power. He had donned Hannya, the armor of hate, and Kien, the blood-sucking sword. He went on countless days of killing, as Hannya demanded more sacrifices.
When Bishamon fought against Pyron, Pyron's energies caused Bishamon to be separated from Hannya's curse. To make up for his sins, he and his wife became priests/monks. The practice he had started was called "Roppoudou". This practice gave its followers a strong mind and would cleanse the mind and spirit its followers. Traveling throughout Japan brought peace to his heart again.
Bishamon Ending Ending from Darkstalkers 3 Bishamon Ending Several years later, he had stopped by an old temple. There, he found writings about a separate dimension called "Makai". Within these writings contained drawings depicting the armor, "Hannya", and the sword, "Kien" and other creatures similar to those two in what seemed like hell. Bishamon thought to himself, a careless person like himself may appear again. He thought that he may not be able to make up for his sins, but he may be able to prevent a similar tragedy from happening again. He had already walked the path of darkness; he had nothing to fear.
To make contact with this "Makai", he secluded himself within a deep snowy mountain. He sat down and held the Shakujou and started to meditate. When his spiritual strength had reached its peak, he could see that of a different world with the eyes of his heart. He was determined to seal Hannya away at any cost.
At the same time, Hannya had started to thirst for blood once again. Even without having a master this time, the armor and sword started to move again. They gathered all the spirits around them to create a body and moved out to hunt Darkstalkers and their blood. When Hannya and Kien moved out, they were sucked into the Majigen. But before Hannya could kill, Bishamon had caught up to him and sealed him away. After these events, Bishamon had disappeared and is thought to have led a peaceful life. Powers and abilities
Bishamon is one of the few characters in Darkstalkers to wield a weapon. It is likely he was a skilled swordsmen before donning Hannya.
His walking speed is normal but his dash is impressive. Using Kien, he can cut enemies in half easily with his Tsuji Hayate attack. He can also channel ki energy through Kien and expel it for a short distance with his slashes. He can also project ghostly energies for distant attacks and can disorient his opponents with them. He can also summon evil spirts, such as the samurai ghosts in his Tsurane Giri and a ghostly hand with a crushing grasp in Oni Kubi Hineri.
In the PlayStation version of Darkstalkers 3, he has another form, Oboro Bishamon, but it seems to have been purified by Oboro's spirit, which means that the armor has been turned into an all white colored armor. This form also has a different, but more serious victory theme. Cameo appearances
Bishamon appeared as a card in the Heroes and Heralds mode in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Trivia
The demonic armor Hannya and sword Kien are likely based on Tsukumogami, artifacts and items that have remained intact for 100 years, and have come to life. Depending on what kind of item they are, they can be good natured or outright evil. The dog that appears in Bishamon's Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors stage is a red coated Shiba Inu named Tarou. Tarou also appears in the Vampire Savior stage Abaraya. He will appear from under a blanket after the round is won.

Dark Talbain (Dark Gallon in Japan) is a character in the Darkstalkers series of fighting games. He is a evil version of Jon Talbain.
ADVERTISEMENT Biography
His evil side appears as a boss/secret character in Vampire Savior; he is a pallete swap version of Talbain (only difference is the color the character sprite has a glowing and shadowy effect, like Dee's Dhylec sword) and his moves are the same as the second game. His story is somewhat unknown, but it is tied to Talbain. Given Jon Talbain’s story in Vampire Savior of dealing with and choosing his side as a man or a wolf, he appears to be the manifestation of Jon Talbain’s dark or primal instincts as a werewolf and/or darkstalker, presumably a hallucination manifested from his psyche or subconscious. If Dark Talbain remains as only a strong illusion Jon perceives as real or an actual being who manifested somehow, possibly from the warped nature of the Majigen, that he actually physically fights is unknown. His sprite is also somewhat different than Talbain. Trivia
Dark Talbain only appears in Vampire Savior and Vampire Hunter 2. His winning theme is heard in The Chaos Tower BGM section, but he's not playable in the game. It is unknown if he was removed or not. Shadow is encountered by Dark Talbain. It is unknown whether or not Shadow has something to do with Dark Talbain. His other name is for unknown reasons Original Talbain. One possibility is that “original” in this case is used as a synonym for “primal” as in the original primal instincts that werewolves and other darkstalkers have ingrained in them. It could also be more of a gameplay reference in how he uses Jon Talbain’s original moveset. Dark Talbain has only two color variants, both are just two of Jon Talbain’s preexisting alternate colors but with an effect on them. Some of Jon Talbain’s attacks have been updated after the second game so Dark Talbain uses the animations for attacks that Jon no longer uses

PROFILE FULL NAME Dee (Evil Donovan) BIRTHDAY N/A BIRTHPLACE N/A HEIGHT 194cm (6'4") WEIGHT 98kg (216 lbs.) BLOOD TYPE N/A LIKES N/A DISLIKES N/A MEASUREMENTS N/A FIGHTING STYLE N/A Dee (ディー) is a character from the Darkstalkers series of fighting games. He is essentially Donovan having succumbed to the dark part of his soul, with more powerful moves and a new projectile attack. Dee first appeared in Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection, as a new secret character in the "arranged version" of Vampire Savior.
ADVERTISEMENT Biography
Design-wise, he appears as Donovan's head (from Night Warriors) put onto Demitri's body, with his sword Dhylec floating behind. Dee is the true, present day Donovan, somewhat corrupted and a "what if" character if his Vampire Hunter ending was canon.
In said ending, Donovan finally loses his humanity as he sacrifices himself somewhat in order to protect Anita as well as awaken her emotions again. Although Donovan is victorious, he succumbed to the dark part of his soul too much in order to do so. This tragic turn of events causes Anita to cry, and is symbolic in showing that Anita is finally whole again. Years later, a grown Anita wonders what became of Donovan, and she hopes he is okay. Donovan himself is seen sitting on a throne, beside many bodies. He is fighting a neverending struggle with himself as he yearns for inner peace.
In Dee's ending, he confronts Anita, who shows her true form and he begins to fight an aged Anita. The outcome of this fight is not shown, but during the credits various pictures are shown of an aged Anita visiting a grave. It is often assumed that the grave is Donovan's, and that she won the fight and he was destroyed. However, whether Donovan becoming Dee, or his supposed annihilation at Anita's hands being a canon event remains unknown. Trivia
The name "Dee" is possibly the name of Donovan's demon side, or perhaps he abandoned his original name due to the fact that his corrupted side takes control. Dee is also known as Evil Donovan or Devil Donovan (depending on the region). Dee is a optional boss in the "arranged mode" of Vampire Savior, Vampire Savior 2 and Vampire Hunter 2. The task is the same as to face Oboro Bishamon but as a extra to it. In the opening battle of Dee (as a optional boss), his voice is heard in a distorted way (random and mix up voice of Donovan) as he appears ready for battle which proves that he is Donovan. Dee's character color is very similar to Donovan's original color. His winning theme is the same as Shadow. Dee is hidden in the "?", just like Shadow and Marionette. Some of his new powers are very similar to Demitri's powers. The Dhylec red color is reused from one Donovan dark color costume and given a glowing special effect. His battle stage music is almost the same as the Chaos Tower opening but part of it is rearrange. Some of his unused sketches, particularly him groveling at what used to be Anita's doll, may have been a part of an unrealized ending cinematic for him.

PROFILE FULL NAME Donovan Baine BIRTHDAY N/A BIRTHPLACE N/A HEIGHT 194cm (6'4") WEIGHT 98kg (216 lbs.) BLOOD TYPE N/A LIKES N/A DISLIKES N/A MEASUREMENTS N/A FIGHTING STYLE N/A Donovan Baine is a character from the Darkstalkers series of games. First seen in Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, he is a stoic and intimidating dark hunter who fights using extremely exotic weapons and moves often deeply rooted in Buddhist and Hindu mythology, making him quite a unique character. He is sometimes seen as the series' main protagonist, although this changes from perspective to perspective.
ADVERTISEMENT Story
Donovan is a Dhampir, the offspring of an affair between a vampire male and a human female. His true origin is unknown, however it is known that he was shunned as a child for his tainted blood. One day, a terrible event occurred in his hometown which had something to do with him. The end result was the death of everyone in the town, including his mother. Donovan wandered the world for a long time, following the teachings of Buddhism in an attempt to control his massive power as well as inner turmoil. Donovan is a man who seeks an answer to his cursed existence. Along his journeys as a wandering monk, he learned many things, and eventually came into possession of a gigantic magical sword known as Dhylec.
This sword had the unique ability to channel the spirits of various elementals and gods for use of their power. Combined with his powerful telekinetic abilities, his strength, his mental discipline as well as the power of Dhylec and his spirit beads worn around his body, Donovan became a force of justice to be feared by all evil. The Darkstalkers' arrogance may have been their undoing with the creation of Donovan.
Donovan is a Dark Hunter but is not part of any official organization of dark hunters. He does not hunt for profit like Baby Bonnie Hood does. His reasons are spiritual in that hunting the dark gives him a meaning to his existence, to protect others from the dark, and maybe even cleanse himself of his tainted blood.
On one of his journeys, Donovan came across a young girl named Anita. As Donovan came onto the scene, she was threatened by a monster. Donovan easily dispatched it, and turned to the villagers for an explanation. The people told him that Anita had never exhibited any kind of emotion or said any words since her family was slaughtered by a Darkstalker. Taking his sword Dhylec, he sliced off the head of Anita's doll. Anita responded with a violent psychic force. Donovan subdued the attack and told her that anger was the most easily summoned emotion, but that this was proof that she could still heal her own heart. He welcomed Anita to acompany him not only to find herself but to aid him in battle, as she had some unique abilities as well. Thus, Donovan became her guardian, and Anita has kept the headless doll ever since. Powers and Abilities
Donovan's primary attacks utilize both his martial arts training and his large demon slaying sword, Dhylec. His psychokinetic abilities allow him to levitate Dhylec off the ground and can even ride it through the air. He can also ensnare opponents with his psychokinesis, suspend them in the air, and slam them on the ground as seen in his grab attack. His large prayer beads or japa malas can be used as a barrier or can be swung towards enemies. When they are swung, they give off an aura of blue and white energy.
With both Dhylec and his prayer beads, Donovan can summon gods from Buddhist and Hindu mythology (though the wind god in the Press of Death attack appears to be from Greek mythology) to fight alongside him. He can also temporarily revert to his true form as a Darkstalker, a dark skinned human-like demon with yellow hair and wings. He flies at his enemy and emits a large ball of lightning against his foe in this state. Fate
Donovan's ultimate fate is a sketchy subject. In his ending in Vampire Hunter (Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge), Donovan sacrificed his humanity in order to protect Anita. This tragic turn of events causes her to cry, and is symbolic in showing that Anita is finally whole again and can feel emotion. Years later, a grown Anita wonders what became of Donovan, and she hopes that he is well. Sadly, we find Donovan sitting on a throne, beside the many bodies of his victims. He is fighting a neverending struggle with himself as he yearns for inner peace.
However, the epilogue then hints that Donovan may be slowly winning his fight. Regardless of any speculation, Donovan was meant to be a character exclusive to Vampire Hunter (with him being the Vampire Hunter). With his ending, it made a lot of sense for him to be absent in the follow-up, Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers 3), but due to him being a crowd favorite, he was put back in later versions of the game. Dee (Evil Donovan)
Dee(Evil Donovan) Vs portrait from Vampire: DarkStalkers Collection In the Japan-only Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection, a brand new secret character is unlocked in the "Arranged Versions" of Vampire Savior. This character is named Dee (ディー), and he is essentially Donovan with more powerful moves and a mix of Demitri's moves and even a new laser projectile. While his sprite is the subject of much ridicule (it has Donovan's head put onto Demitri's red-colored body, with Dhylec floating behind), he brings up a very interesting point.
Vampire Savior takes place in a separate dimension, and it is hinted in Dee's ending that Anita has mentally projected herself younger and beside Donovan's earlier incarnation. Dee confronts her, she shows her true form, and he begins to fight an older Anita. The outcome of this fight isn't shown, but during the credits various pictures are shown of the older Anita visiting a grave, giving rise to assumptions that Donovan (as Dee) was defeated and slain by her.
Trivia
When Demitri's Midnight Bliss is performed on Donovan, he transforms into a simple female version of himself. When Anakaris' Pharaoh's Curse is performed on Donovan in Vampire Savior (DarkStalkers 3), Donovan transforms into a tiny woman carrying curry on his head. In Vampire Savior 2 & Vampire Hunter 2, he transforms into a smaller version of himself but in DarkStalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower, it very similar but with a angry face expression. When Jedah's San=Passare is performed on Donovan, his beads swell until they explode. In the Darkstalkers video game series, Donovan is voiced by Nobuyuki Hirayama. Donovan's stage "Unknown" from NightWarriors is reused for DarkStalkers 3 (home console only); the stage is renamed "Revenger Roost". The stage for DarkStalkers 3 is the same color background from the second game but in Vampire Savior 2 & Vampire Hunter 2, it has a different color to it. Donovan's winning and Vs portrait is the same as his artwork from DarkStalkers 3 (home console only). Donovan is the only character in the game that cannot be dismembered at all, whether sideways or vertical, even in mirror matches. Like Rose, he is also another character inspired by "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure."

ADVERTISEMENT Story
Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
Prologue text: Long ago, Earth was visited by extraterrestrial beings, and these visitors created "them." Their purpose? To end all life on the planet's surface. 65,000,000 years ago, it was "they" who brought a sudden end to the age of the dinosaurs. Eventually, when most of the lifeforms on the planet's surface had been eradicated, the entire planet was shaken to the core by a largescale earthquake. Everything, living or otherwise, was trapped deep between the earth's layers.
Present day, at the Teotihuacan ruins in Mexico... A single unidentified form emerges from the ruins. The source of their commands had long ceased to exist, but the last command that had been inputted into the system had survived tens of millions of years and had reactivated "them" again.
"...Terminate All Lifeforms..."
Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge
Prologue text: Huitzil had gone into stasis upon being buried by a large earthquake soon after he was created. As if reacting to the presence of extraterrestrial invaders bent on taking over the world, Huitzil was reactivated. Huitzil was programmed by ancient Mayans to defend Central America from the forces of evil, as a kind of supreme protector.
Cecil
Cecil is the little Mayan orphan boy that follows the Huitzil unit around that protects him, and doesn't appear to have any kind of special powers or abilities; however, in Huitzil's ending in Vampire Savior, he reactivates all the other Huitzil units with the command to "protect the boy". At the very end, they dominate the humans' technologies and are next to impervious of their weapons, which would suggest that Cecil is now the most powerful person in the world, since he controls the Huitzil. However, this contradicts Anita's supposed "ruler of man" future. Gameplay
Powers and abilities
The Huitzil have the uncanny ability to morph their metal into various shapes without external heat, and can form a variety of weapons in this manner. They can also fly. Popular forms of attack include but are not limited to, plasma beams, machine gun turrets, energy shields, grenades, metal claws and buzzsaws.
Other appearances
Huitzil appeared in Namco x Capcom. Huitzil appeared as a card in the SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash games. Cameos
Huitzil also made a cameo appearance in Roll's ending in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, where she reprograms it, along with Vector, as maid robots, as well as in Dee Jay's Bar stage in Super Gem Fighter: Mini Mix, where he is used as a jukebox.
Trivia
Huitzil's appearance is likely based on the dozū, shakōkidogū. Huitzil's name in the English versions comes from Huitzilopochtli, the Aztec god of the sun, war and human sacrifice in Aztec religion. Additionally, Huitzil's prolouge text in the original Darkstalkers game mentions the ruins of Teotihuacan (near the present day the capital of Mexico, Mexico City), which was dedicated to Huitzilopochtli. Huitzil was originally an unplayable character in the first Darkstalkers game and served as the pre-boss fight before Pyron. It can be playable in the first game if hacked like Pyron. The strangest thing is that it has an ending in the first game (by hack), but no ending music and the ending text is seen as pure "A"s, which is a game glitch. It is unknown if Capcom were planning to make it playable or not in the first place, It is worth nothing the Japanese version of the game has Huitzil's ending with perfect Japanese text and no glitches, however the music remains absent from that as well. In the UDON comics, the Huitzil was sent to Earth by Pyron to destroy all life forms on it. In Vampire Hunter 2, Cecil was removed because he wasn't involved in the Night Warriors series and due to the fact that the game is a special remake of Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge. Since Cecil was removed for Vampire Hunter 2 only, certain sprites of Huitzil were a bit strange without him. Huitzil is one of few characters to have two different transformations triggered by Demitri's Midnight Bliss. The first is triggered by simply performing Midnight Bliss. In this form, Huitzil is seen as a Mayan girl with two birds in its hair. The second transformation is achieved by holding the weakest and strongest punches together while performing Midnight Bliss. In this form, Huitzil will appear as a Japanese school girl in a gym uniform. This second transformation can not be achieved in Darkstalkers 3 (arcade). When Huitzil is attacked by Anakaris' Pharaoh's Curse, Huitzil resembles a Dogū. Dogū are clay dolls created in Japan during the Jōmon period. Even in its normal form, Huitzil carries over bits of the Dogū design. Besides small children, Huitzil seems to be fond of animals, birds in particular, seeing as how there are several pieces of art depicting it with its feathery friends. Huitzil became playable in Darkstalkers 3 (only on home consoles) with its own story as a "what if". Nivana/Ada Clover (from Arc System Works' BlazBlue series) may be a reminiscent to Huitzil. Both are large mechanical beings who protect a younger child. For Huitzil, it's Cecil, and for Nirvana, it's her brother Carl. However, the one difference is Nirvana is a supporting character who is only controlled when Carl performs a Drive attack.

ADVERTISEMENT Concept
During development, early sketches of a character called "Belial Jr" was made. This was a character that was going to be Morrigan's brother and his design was inspired by Morrigan's concept art. Eventually this idea of what would have been technically a new character was scrapped and eventually was re-purposed as a redesign for the pre-existing noble Jedah Dohma. While Belial Jr. is often seen as an early version or prototype of Jedah as a whole, Jedah Dohma was an already existing character in the canon albeit less complex and just another dead noble. His original look was a giant monstrous goat-bug being and the redesign was used for his resurrection. In a way, another point of view is that Belial Jr. wasn't necessarily scrapped but was just merged into Jedah's recreation. Story
Though he is over 6000 years old, Jedah is the youngest out of the three High Nobles of Makai.
Jedah was always distressed about the future of Makai (Japanese for "demon world"). He believed that if Makai was left under Belial's rule, the master of the Aensland family and the true ruler of Makai, then it would grow old and begin to decay. Belial would most likely say that such is destiny and life. Jedah considered Belial to be an abomination, and actively sought out the opportunity to kill him, waiting for the right time to strike.
After the death of Galnon, the master of the Voshtal family and the oldest of the three high nobles, Jedah had a young confidant named Ozom. Simply put, he was a gourmet. The reason he came under Jedah was to be able to eat delicious souls. As a noble, his skills were second class, but his ability to deceive others were first class. He was a genius in using others. He advised Jedah about using the gate of Makai. Jedah, being confident in his ability to absorb souls, agreed to this. He ordered Ozom to break a part of the seal to open the gate more.
Jedah's Darkstalkers 3 Ending Ending from ad of anger, he fe Jedah's Darkstalkers 3 Ending When Ozom arrived at the gates, he realized that enormous powers lay within the gates and that even Jedah would destroy himself if he absorbed all this power at once and saw this as his chance to take over the throne. He lies to Jedah and tells him that he must destroy all the seals because little power was coming out. After destroying the seals, he ran off to the far reaches of Makai. The destruction of Jedah meant his rise in power and his plot succeeded.
Ozom gathered the left over power and stored it in Dohma Castle. This is how Ozom became the new master of the Dohma family; the birth of Emperor Ozom.
100 years later, after a century-long sleep, Jedah was revived in Makai. He felt distressed towards the crazed Makai, nobles fighting each other and spilling blood. Instead of anger, he felt pity towards Ozom, who had betrayed him. Jedah had already made up his mind: all souls now had to be completely cleansed. For this, a new dimension was necessary: Majigen.
Jedah arrived at Dohma Castle and saw Ozom and laid out his hand. Although his powers were not yet completely restored yet, he had enough powers to remove Ozom. Now that Ozom had been reduced to a spineless pile of flesh, Jedah quietly whispers, "Ozom... I am sorry, but please lend me your powers. Your soul would become the foundation of Majigen and will help the future of Makai."
The Dohma Castle was taken into the dark space along with the now-soulless Ozom. This was the beginning of Ozom's salvation. Jedah believed that he was the one that needed to recreate life by fusing all souls into one life form, the Shintai. To do this, he summoned all those with worthy souls to enter into his newly created realm.
While many fans believe Morrigan as the one to defeat Jedah, no one officially has defeated Jedah. The actual idea was for an awakened Anita to be the only entity to defeat Jedah and Darkstalkers 3 ended on a cliffhanger. Presumably leaving the Jedah and Anita battle for next game until it got cancelled. Capcom has confirmed that Jedah will target Morrigan and Lilith, who are now fused to each other, eventually. So them fusing with the Shintai/Fetus of God was pretty much inevitable. So while it hasn’t been confirmed when exactly Jedah would get Morrigan and Lilith, it is known that at some point he will have them fuse with the Fetus of God as they aren’t the true ones meant to stop him. Personality
Jedah is very cool, collected and confident. He has a degree of arrogance, but as a whole, he is focused and patient, all for achieving his goal of saving Makai from a destiny seen by Belial. It is rare to see Jedah express emotion, except in fits of insanity. But even these are subdued by his own calm attitude eventually. In some reference artwork when he is in a rare extreme fit of rage, his face will deform into a skull-like angry face. He is often misinterpreted as someone who is pure evil and only wants full power all for himself. But he is actually an extremely morally gray villain who does not believe in the concept of good and evil and his goal does not focus on either or and only what he sees as the way things should be. While he doesn't believe in good in evil he does have a concept of chaos and order and he wants to end all chaos in Makai. While certainly insane and even sadistic at times, he is far from a selfish and power hungry tyrannical ruler. He believes that it is wrong to rule as king or lord and making people kneel for them, seen in his discussion as a special fight against Anakaris, and that he thinks what a lord or king should do instead is make your people become a part of you. Powers and Abilities
Being an S-Class Darkstalker, Jedah is one of the strongest beings in the Darkstalkers universe. His very blood is dangerous and can even hurt enemies and he especially likes to splash it in large waves. Splashes of his blood can reform into jagged blades, and his trademark attack, consist of a floating, rotating bloody blade. In addition, he can pump his enemies full of blood until they explode from the inside out and summon large demonic hands. He can even decapitate himself or mutilate any of his body parts without suffering any ill-effects and can regenerate his body parts from these wounds. He is fond of contorting his wings into weapons, such as forming them into spinning blades and scythes or use them as shields. He doesn't really use punches or kicks, instead relying on his wings and claws. He can extend his arms and his claws towards his foes to pierce them. He is able to absorb the souls of others from which he can instantly increase his own powers. He is capable of passing through dimensions and he can sense the energies of other beings on a cosmic scale. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
Jedah appears for the first time as a playable character in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite as a major antagonist. In the game's story mode, he is amongst the villains who have willingly aligned with Ultron Sigma (a fusion between Avengers' Ultron and Mega Man X's Sigma), with the goal of assimilating as many millions of souls as possible into a giant Klyntar symbiote. Though a staggering task, his ability to control souls is bolstered through the use of the Soul Stone he has in his possession. To that end, he partners with M.O.D.O.K. of A.I.M.Brella (a merger between A.I.M. and Umbrella), who holds open the portal to the Dark Kingdom (a fusion between his home series' Makai Kingdom and the Dark Dimension) using the Mind Stone he has in his possession, which would allow the Symbiote to run free once completed. Jedah also finds himself an ally in Dormammu, the ruler of the Dark Dimension, and Firebrand due to the merger of their respective realms.
Jedah in this game was somewhat censored to fit into this crossover series. His blood was changed from it's normal red to purple in order to slightly mask the apparent levels of gore he enacts with some of his attacks. Some of his moves were also changed to tone down the violence, however his overall gameplay and visuals remains for the most part untouched from his appearance in his home series. Trivia
As mentioned in the concept section, Belial Jr. was a character who essentially was merged into Jedah Dohma as a redesign for a pre-existing character. Ironically, Jedah was, in a sense, an enemy of Belial, who is adoptive father of Morrigan. Adding to this irony, it is a bit of a common headcanon for fans to view Jedah as a dad or father-figure to Lilith as Jedah physically constructed her body and in a sense brought her into the world at least physically. Lilith also canonically views the Majigen as her birthplace. It may also be incorrectly stated by some that Jedah created Lilith by scratch, but many are aware Lilith was an already existing entity before she gained a body so will see Jedah's role in her life as a form of "adoption". In this view point, he has essentially made the divided soul of his enemy's child into his own "child" even if it was just for the sake of his plan. Jedah's costume resembles that of an altered Japanese high school boy's uniform called a gakuran. All of Jedah's attacks are written in Italian. During Demitri's Midnight Bliss, Jedah is transformed into a woman with long blonde hair. This transformation of Jedah is also seen in the Pocket Fighter stage, Demitri's Moving Castle. During Anakaris' Pharaoh's Curse, Jedah transforms into a black bird carrying a scythe. During Jedah's San=Passare (vs himself), Jedah's belly inflates, an outie pops out, and his belly explodes. Close inspection of Jedah's sprites reveal that his wings are not actually attached to his body, but instead hover behind. This is apparent especially when he is flying or hovering. His voice actor in Japan is Isshin Chiba, who reprises his role in every game that Jedah appears in with the exception of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, which does not have a Japanese dub. His English voice actors is Travis Willingham in Cross Edge and David Kaye in Marvel VS. Capcom: Infinite Due to his blood flashing purple in censored versions, there is a bit of a joke in the community to refer to Jedah as either; jelly, jam, punch, juice or other similar food or drink items because of the way it looks. Jedah's goal is, as he says, the salvation of souls. It’s not meant to be a good deed, evidently he just believes this is nature’s divine providence. When asked what's going on underneath his clothes, Capcom responded "An entrance to another dimension for supplying his magical power (connected to sacred Shinto objects?) and his (current) real form’s blood fill the space." In his move where he forces the opponent to sign a contract by slamming them in and stealing their soul, this dimension can be partially seen when Jedah opens his clothes as the soul goes into it. The Fetus of God is said to be a container for the souls that make up sacred Shinto objects, and will become Jedah’s real form once his resurrection is complete. In Darkstalkers 1 canon, Ozom initially originated from the Dohma clan. It was Jedah's own idea to steal powers from the door so that he can kill Belial but accidentally killed himself in the process and Ozom took his place. In the current canon, he has unknown origins and was just someone that met Jedah, became his confidante and replaced his role as head of the Dohma house after tricking him into his death. Ozom is the base for the Fetus of God and Majigen itself. Adding onto the dad Jedah Dohma headcanon, the Fetus of God is sometimes portrayed as Jedah's literal baby in fanart, as in an actual father and child relationship. In a sense Jedah did reincarnate Ozom as his baby even if a familial connection is not the intent. This sort of loops back to making Ozom an unofficial "member" of the Dohma clan as even without a legitimate familial relationship, Ozom is now a part of Jedah. He is the only character who doesn't use punches or kicks. He has similarities to the Shinigami. In the All About Vampire Savior guidebook, translated notes state that Jedah's body is akin to a variable liquid, that is composed of the minimum amount of magical power required for resurrection. Therefore, the red liquid which he frequently uses as a means to attack is not exactly "blood". The wings on the back and the clothes are made up of the same liquid which the body is composed of. When standing still without doing anything, red liquid flows down from Jedah's shoulders, and the hem of his clothes.
- #16Le Malta
Keys: Le Malta
Le Malta is a non-playable support character from the Darkstalkers series of horror themed fighting games.
Profile
Appearance
Le Malta is a purple, cyclopean, frog-like creature with short black stripes.
Story
Lord Raptor's lust for power was noticed by Emperor Ozom. Knowing Lord Raptor might betray him, Ozom sent Le Malta after him. Although Le Malta was employed by Ozom to literally "keep an eye" on Lord Raptor, the creature apparently found Raptor fascinating and became a companion to him. Le Malta appears in many of Lord Raptor's attacks. His first appearance was alongside Lord Raptor in Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, where he appeared in Raptor's ending.
After the events of Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, Lord Raptor and Le Malta arrived at where Ozom's castle once stood, but they both found the castle was gone, with an entrance to Majigen, Jedah's own dark dimension separate from Makai, in its place. Lord Raptor had plans on killing the creator of this dimension and taking it over. Although at first unsure of Raptor's intentions and the fact that this could mean victory or certain destruction, Le Malta decided to follow the power hungry Lord Raptor into the dark.

He is a zombie who hails from Australia. He has been voiced by Yuji Ueda ever since his debut.
Story
Raptor was a charismatic young rock star who was an expert guitarist and known as the "God of Metal" among his peers. He was unknown before the release of his first album, "Oral Dead". Though his first album was a commercial flop that only gained a small cult following, not enough interest in him was generated until his second album was released. Upon its debut, it sold 200,000 copies in a month, and soon enough, it reached one million in three months, from which his road to stardom began then on.
In what would become his final live performance, Lord Raptor stood alone on the stage, holding his guitar aloft and screamed: "Emperor Ozom, I have given all that you have asked! Now, it is my turn to receive...". With that, in front of over a hundred Australian fans, Lord Raptor's body crumbled away, leaving behind a pile of bleached bones. Even more horrifically, the blood was completely drained from every single member of his mesmerized audience. Naturally, the next day, this caused a media sensation. Posthumously, he had become the next sensation on the metal scene.
L Ending from Darkstalkers 3 L. Rapter (Zabel) Ending A few days after Raptor's strange death, an odd leather-covered book was found in his house. The book was called "A Chapter of Tolagido" and was written in what seemed to be ancient Hebrew. The book explained the existence of another world called "Makai". The words in the book resembled the lyrics to his hit songs, and in a topic titled "A curse to give sacrifices to the king of Makai", the lyrics to Raptor's song "Sacrifice" were found. This song was the last played during the concert where Raptor and his crowd died. With further research, it was discovered that the preparation for the curse took a long time. Since the first album was released, Raptor had already started to brainwash his potential victims. His apparent aim was to start the curse with his music and obtain sacrifices.
When word of his demonic work came to the ears of Emperor Ozom, he baptized Raptor's soul in darkness and thus resurrected him as a zombie. Ozom then used Raptor's bloodlust to his advantage, enlisting him into his services with the promise of more power. Although Raptor agreed, his true plans were to kill Ozom himself and rule as Emperor. Ozom knew this and had sent a one-eyed, amorphous frog creature named Le Malta originally to spy on Raptor, though he eventually became more of a pet to him. However, when the Emperor and his castle disappeared, Raptor was puzzled. He had arrived at the location where Ozom's castle used to stand, but instead he found the entrance to Majigen, another dimension. This time, he intended to kill the creator of Majigen and take his role. Whether he succeeded or not is unknown. Lord Raptor's discography

Lord Raptor is a speedy fighter and can utilize his bones as cutting weapons but he can also protrude a sword blade or a chainsaw from his leg. He can spin like a top through the air and cut enemies with the blades sticking out from himself. He is capable of generating electricity in some attacks like Evil Scream and Death Voltage (which forms the shape of a skull). His guitar can also generate sound waves that can harm his enemies too. His assistant/pet, Le Malta will also change shape to help him with certain attacks. Le Malta will aid him in his Hell Dunk by becoming a demonic basketball hoop, Death Phrase by acting as an amplifier for his guitar, and even being turned into a chainsaw during Ultimate Undead. Other appearances
He is also included in Namco x Capcom as one of the enemies.
He also appears as a Rival Unit in Project X Zone and its sequel. Cameos
He, Hsien-Ko and Morrigan appear in civilian outfits and human forms in Ken's stage in Street Fighter Alpha 2. In Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Lord Raptor appears in the background of Hsien-Ko's background after the match is finished. Lord Raptor can be spotted in the background of the "Makai Bar" stage of Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, playing his guitar onstage.
He, along with his companion Le Malta, can be seen floating in the background at the Underworld stage, in Capcom Fighting Evolution.
Lord Raptor has a cameo in Dormammu's ending in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds.
Trivia
Lord Raptor's former life was likely based off the 1980's stigma and controversy of heavy metal and rock music in the West being associated with satanism and evil. Coming from Australia, he is also likely to have been based on the Young Brothers of rock band AC/DC; his zombie form is likely a resemblance to Eddie the Head, the zombie-like mascot of the British Heavy Metal band Iron Maiden, while his human side appears to be based on a young Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath. Lord Raptor's entrance animation changes when fighting Hsien-Ko. During this pose, Lord Raptor’s eyes become hearts and pulse out of his head. This may imply that he is in love with or desires Hsien-Ko. This same animation can be seen during battle whenever Lord Raptor taunts. However, Hsien-Ko, if her Marvel vs. Capcm 3 quotes are to be considered, has no interest in him, or is shy about it, to the point of being tsundere; in the manga, it is implied she does have feelings for him, but does not admit to it. Lord Raptor’s entrance animation also changes when fighting Baby Bonnie Hood, though instead of Lord Raptor appearing with hearts pulsing from his eyes, it is Le Malta who is love struck. This can be seen again whenever Lord Raptor taunts during the battle, in which Lord Raptor kicks Le Malta to get him to stop. For a moment at the beginning of Lord Raptor's Dark Force, he appears for a moment wearing a leather jacket and his hair styled in a mowhawk. There is a one out of sixteen chance that he will appear with an afro instead of a mohawk. This same afro also appears when Lilith performs her Gloomy Puppet Show on him. Lord Raptor has the ability to move while crouching. During Demitri's Midnight Bliss, Lord Raptor turns into a young punk teenybopper with a leather bra and shorts on. As Demitri begins to feed on him, he aims a gun towards Demitri. Demitri drains him of his blood before he has a chance to shoot. During Anakaris' Pharaoh's Curse, Raptor turns into an electric guitar with his own head on it. During Jedah's San=Passare, Jedah inflates Raptor's buttocks until they explode. In some USA and European games, Lord Raptor name was misspelled "Lord Rapter". An alternative version of Lord Raptor is "Gold Raptor", which is an unfinished character for the arcade version of Darkstalkers 3. It's considered to be garbage data which can only be used if by hack. It's unstable when playing the character in arcade mode, and causes the game to reset and crash at the same time. Only shows his lower body when selecting him in the "?", and his Vs. portrait is Baby Bonnie Hood in a deformed corrupt color (same thing with the winning portrait). It is stable only in Vs. mode, which shows him using his Dark Force power (the background of the Dark Force doesn't show up; only his power, with no time limit bar). Emperor Ozom is known as "The Master" in Lord Raptor's story. When using ES Death Phrase, Le Malta becomes a giant amplifier that accidentally launches Lord Raptor into the opponent with a powerful soundwave. This may be a reference to the opening scene of Back to the Future where the main character Marty McFly is thrown into a bookcase after playing a power chord in front of a massive amplifier. He is the only character in the series with a final victory winpose, ie. he wins the game, where demons carry the body of the fallen enemy and he himself turns into his human form; The only other character with this characteristic is Bishamon, prior to Vampire Savior. In the American 1995 cartoon of Darkstalkers, Raptor would often, if not always, make references to songs from that time.

Keys: Marionette
Marionette is a secret character from the Darkstalkers series of fighting games. She first appeared in Vampire Hunter 2.
Biography
Marionette is a wind up toy-like puppet creature, resembling a woman with ball jointed doll qualities in a leaf-like dress that looks similar to a ballerina outfit, jester hat, and heels with short hair and a wind up key on her back. It is said that an evil phantom, Shadow, made a young woman his slave, turning her into a puppet in order to fulfill his task.
Marionette's powers are like some sort of a mirror. She possesses a copy of a body, lying on the ground, that looks like her opponent. As she lowers herself into the body, the strings disappear and the body becomes animate. This grants her the ability to know every power, weakness, and secret of her opponent. Trivia
While she may be incorrectly cited as having the supposedly different name of “Marionetto” in Japanese, the English word marionette is pronounced as “marionetto” in Japanese and is simply a difference in pronunciation and not a difference in name localization. On the "Score Ranking" screen in Vampire Savior, Vampire Savior 2/Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Chronicle, Marionette only shows up as a "?" because she appears as a secret character. Marionette's winning themes in Vampire Savior 2, Vampire Hunter 2 and Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower are essentially the same but use different instruments depending on the version of the game. In the PlayStation version of Darkstalkers 3, Marionette's intro music sounds a little different than in the original version. Marionette appeared in SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighting DS as a card. She appears to be a fusion of both the Living/Sentient Toy and Monster Clown tropes, as she is a wind-up doll puppet dressed as a jester. In some concept art for Anita, one of the dolls she would control looks similar to Marionette, as it dressed in a ballerina-like outfit and often having closed eyes. It had some differences as well such as being more like a stuffed mannequin with stitching rather than a plastic looking puppet and a tiara instead of a jester hat, which is a bit similar to one of Lilith’s strictly conceptual designs
- #19Oboro Bishamon

Oboro Bishamon is a secret character from the Darkstalkers series of fighting games. He first appeared in Vampire Savior as a special encounter after Jedah, if certain conditions are met. He becomes a regular playable character in Vampire Hunter 2, Vampire Savior 2, and console releases of Vampire Savior/Darkstalkers 3.
Biography
Oboro Bishamon is Bishamon himself in total control of Hannya and Kien, instead of Bishamon becoming a puppet to their powers. Because of this, he does not have the burning souls surrounding him, and he undergoes transformation every battle to use those powers at will.
It is revealed in his ending that he returned to Makai to prevent the evil armor from causing yet more harm. However, it seems the armor and sword has already gained sentience and are merely biding time for another willing host after Bishamon seals the armor in the Dark Realm. Appearance
Oboro Bishamon can be accessed from the Short Cut mode as a Select button variant playable character (as can all of the above with the exception of Shadow and Marionette) or fought in the Arcade Mode under set conditions. His sprite is essentially the same as Bishamon, although the color is different, he has no burning souls beside him, and some moves have been changed, while gaining totally new moves.
Trivia
He is known as "Shin Bishamon" in Japan, which was originally his name in Darkstalkers 3, but it was changed to "Oboro" in Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2. The word “Oboro” means haziness, dreaminess or gloom in Japanese, reflecting the real Bishamon's current state of mind. This is likely in reference to Shin Akuma as both Bishamon and Akuma have oni related themes. Aside from both localized names for Akuma translating to demon or evil, he would later get a form called Oni and Bishamon is possessed by an armor named Hannya and in folklore hannya and oni are often seen as male and female equivalents of each other. Oboro Bishamon's other name is "Priest Bishamon", which is his name known in some parts of Europe, reflecting the fact he's an ascetic monk in atonement for his deeds. Some of his sprites are different from or similar to the regular Bishamon. The animations are slightly different specifically around the arm movement. He also has unique poses not found in the original Bishamon. Oboro Bishamon's boss color does not show on the Vs and the Winning portrait (it only shows up as regular color-Low Punch) but only when fighting. His winning theme, for some reason, exists in the game, but is not used in the arcade version of Vampire Savior, Vampire Hunter 2, and Vampire Savior 2. He instead uses the pre-boss fight music of the game he appears in. However, said theme is used in console releases of the aforementioned games.
- #20Pyron
Keys: Pyron
PROFILE BIRTHPLACE Planet Hellstorm Pyron is a character from the Darkstalkers series of gothic-horror themed fighting games. He debuted in the first title as the final boss.
Biography
Appearance
Personality
Pyron is a dark, prideful, and arrogant alien who often calls himself "the lord of the living flames" as he believes himself to be a true master over fire. He seeks out many worlds to fuel his hunger, and he is also very fond of a challenge as he likes to test himself against other fighters in hand-to-hand combat, even supernatural beings such as a Darkstalker who he himself has taken an interest in their kind due to their supernatural powers.
Pyron is also a very good leader and teammate when working with other beings, as he commands his robots to study other worlds for him to consume. He will even fight alongside his army in other wars. He is also a thrill-seeker who enjoys testing his own limits when traveling, and has a bit of humor in him where talking to others.
Concept
Pyron is most likely meant to be representative of one of the fabled cosmic beings from Mars. The planet Mars is often associated with fire because of its Japanese name Kasei (火星), which means "Fire Planet". This connection to Mars also explains the reasoning behind naming his army of robots "Phobos", which is the larger and innermost of Mars' two moons (though the robots are renamed Huitzil in the western releases).
According to the Bible, the Antichrist will honor a Foreign God, which literally means an Alien God, and the two of them will rule together. This god will be the God of Fortresses. In Greek and Roman mythology, the god Mars is said to have been worshiped in the form of two idols, one called Mars Gradivus, Mars of War, and the other Mars Quirinus, Mars of Fortresses. It is because of this that it is believed the God of Fortresses will come from Mars.
Story
Background
Pyron is an alien from the planet Hellstorm, that is known for their love for war, whose size largely surpasses the Milky Way. After evolving over many years, he became a powerful alien who can control fire and has an orbital span that stretched over 400,000 light years and counting. Over the span of 200 million years, he sought to collect worlds and other celestial objects throughout space by consuming them in flames. After traveling across the cosmos beyond the speed of light, he lands deep within the Atlantic Ocean to wait for the right time to consume the planet Earth. Originally, he came to Earth 65 million years ago during the age of the Dinosaurs and created the army of Huitzil to destroy life on the planet.
Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
Pyron acts as the final boss. In the end, he was defeated by Demitri Maximoff and was consumed by him.
Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge
He would also act as the boss character in the game where he first appeared as a playable character.
Darkstalkers 3
Pyron was left out of the arcade version of Darkstalkers 3 only to reappear in console versions of the game. Even though he was canonically dead, he has a "What if" story.
Crossover appearances
Capcom Fighting Evolution
Pyron appeared in Capcom Fighting Evolution as the final boss and as a secret playable character.
Project × Zone 2
Pyron appeared as one of the Rival Units.
Cameos
In Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, Pyron made a cameo appearance in Tekkaman's ending. His name has been misspelled as "Pylon".
Pyron can be seen as a cameo appearance in the prologue art of episode 19 in Asura's Wrath, hidden at the bottom right corner.
Comics
UDON comics
Pyron appeared in UDON's Darkstalkers comic as one of the main antagonists. He came to Earth 65 million years ago and created the army of Huitzil robots to destroy life on Earth. It is explained that the reason why Pyron didn't consume Earth when he first arrived was because he wanted it to "ripen" before harvesting it.
Gameplay
Powers and abilities
Pyron is one of the most powerful characters in the Darkstalkers series. He can pull planets out of their orbit and, as shown in his ending, can grow to a size so immense that he can wear the planets around his fingers as if they were rings and can even grow to a size that far surpasses the Milkyway. He is made of pure solar energy, as he cannot be harmed by normal means of attacks. He can also consume the planet's energy to the point that it becomes a cinder, as implied by his own words in his ending. He can also consume the energies of other celestial objects. He is also capable of generating energy orbs as projectile attacks like the Sol Smasher and Cosmo Disruption. He can also contort his body to form shapes like cyclones, burning wheels, and a flaming pillar with a laughing face. He can also create an energy barrier around himself and even entrap his opponents inside it. As he can travel through space at speeds, at or above light, he is also capable of flight and levitation.
He can enhance the heat of his flames to higher levels to match that of a supernova, and has the ability to sense the life force of another being (as he was aware that Earth would have supernatural beings). He also has the ability to absorb solar energy, and even the ability to control gravity on a worldwide scale.
Despite his powers, Pyron is not without weaknesses; he must feed on other worlds in order to keep his power at his full potential, as his power will become weaker over time due to using too much energy. Certain magical attacks are also capable of harming him and causing him pain. Also, because of his body is made of pure solar energy, his power can be absorbed by beings who can also harness and absorb energy of their own.
Moveset
Trivia
Pyron is the only playable character in the Darkstalkers franchise who is an alien. He is not from Earth or the realm of Makai. In the Darkstalkers cartoon show, Pyron has a brother known as Terramon. Richard Newman, who voices Pyron in the American TV series, is also known for voicing central antagonist M. Bison in the Street Fighter cartoon series. David Kaye, the English dub voice of Pyron in the Night Warriors OVA, is also known for voicing various incarnations of Megatron, another megalomaniac character, from the Transformers franchise. Kaye later became the voice of Jedah Dohma in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. In many ways, Pyron's being, motivations and actions makes him very comparable to the Marvel Comics villain Galactus, who would become a boss character in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Pyron is not playable in the original game because he's the final boss, but he, along with Huitzil, can be playable if the game is hacked. It is unknown why Pyron did not consume the world back when he first arrived, it is possible that he wanted to wipe out the life on the planet before he could consume the planet, after fighting against worthy foes, he decided that he would leave the world at peace so they become stronger. Before the release of Darkstalkers 3 on home consoles, Pyron appeared as the boss of Vampire Hunter 2. He has his own boss intro which is very similar to Jedah's. In Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower and Vampire Savior 2, Pyron is a sub-boss before fighting Jedah. As with many fictional fire-themed spirits, the Spirit of Fire of Hao Asakura, from the Shaman King manga series, greatly resembles Pyron. Pyron (along with fellow Capcom character Saturn Dyer of Star Gladiator fame) is briefly seen in Paul Phoenix's Street Fighter X Tekken promotional character art. In Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, Gill has a crossover costume based on Pyron.
- #21A-Bee
Keys: Q-Bee
PROFILE FULL NAME N/A (Q-Bee is the denomination of her position in the species' hierarchy, see below) BIRTHDAY N/A BIRTHPLACE Makai HEIGHT 125cm (4'1" - this measure actually refers to length) WEIGHT 38.2kg (84 lbs.) BLOOD TYPE N/A LIKES N/A DISLIKES N/A MEASUREMENTS N/A FIGHTING STYLE N/A LESS Q-Bee is a fighting game character from Darkstalkers. Making her debut in Darkstalkers 3, Q-Bee is a humanoid insect from Makai.
About
She is described as a bee-based monster called a "Soul Bee," born in Makai in an unknown year. Q-Bee and her race lived in the lands of the Dohma family. But during the time when Jedah was dead, her home began to crumble and her race was about to die. She headed toward the Majigen, which Jedah created after his resurrection, to gather souls to satisfy the hunger of the Soul Bees, as well as her own.
The "eyes" on her face aren't actually eyes at all. They're there for no other reason than to make her look more human. The large orb like things seen in her hair are actually her real eyes. This explains why she often leans or droops her head while in battle.
Q-Bee appears as an enemy in Namco ✕ Capcom, as well as a card in SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS. The voice of Q-Bee is voice actor Miyuki Matsushita. She makes mostly 'buzzing' or bee-sounds, but she does have a voice. The Soul Bee Species
In a family of Soul Bees, there are around 50 up to 150 bees. The leader of the family is called Q-Bee. Q-Bee is a title instead of a name. The others are either called P-Bee or just Bee.
A Q-Bee works to raise the next leader of the family Out of the baby bees born, certain bees are born with a honey capsule. An organ that is used to concentrate and accumulate nutrition. This bee is raised to become the next Q-Bee.
Within P-Bees there are male and female individuals in an one to four proportion (one male for every four females). Their physical appearance is almost identical, with the male being slightly smaller. The male exists only to help reproduce. A male's regeneration rate is very low compared to a female. Due to the current evolutionary stage of Soul Bees having a very strong self-reproduction and regeneration system, it is possible to give birth to new Soul Bees without the help of a male. As a consequence, in the near future, male Soul Bees will most likely disappear.
Their sense of touch can catch the smell of food with a range that is said to reach several hundred kilometers.
Q-Bee Ending Ending in Darkstalkers 3 Q-Bee Ending Their intelligence level is equal to a human baby around 4-5 years old. As such, they are able to carry on simple conversations.
Their appetite is the most important aspect of their behavior. To them, everything that moves besides themselves is food to be caught. Their digestive ability is incredible and their stomach is rarely upset from eating bad food. Because their metabolism is incredibly high, they may die from starvation if not fed within 36 hours.
The names of Q-Bee's attacks, which may look like odd codes (Specials: SxP, C->R, ΔA, RM, OM; Supers: Qj, +B, i²), were taken from "Makai Evil Insect Book", written by Varvle Mattlayer. The names were rewritten, so they sound more comprehensible to humans (albeit not translatable, but deductible by the effect of each one). Power and Abilities
On top of the standard abilities of the Soul Bee species, Q-bee seems to have some unique powers to her, fitting her status as queen of her hive. Besides flight, she also seems able to morph her body briefly in insectoid like ways, such as growing a stinger out of her elbow to jab someone with or turning her hand into a wicked pincer to slash at her opponent with. She can even turn her fist into a bee hive in which smaller bees will fly out of. She can also produce large amounts of very thick and sticky honey, as seen in one of her special move, which she can use to immobilize her prey with. Trivia
During Demitri's Midnight Bliss, Q-bee is transformed into a nurse in a yellow uniform holding a giant syringe. When Anakaris' Pharaoh's Curse is performed on Q-bee, she is transformed into a small version of herself wearing a crown. This same sprite is also in her battle intro. During Jedah's San=Passare, Q-Bee's abdomen swells until it explodes. During Q-Bee's move +B, the opponent will take graphic damage and appear with bee stings on their body. Q-Bee was designed by Akiman. The initial concept of this character was a "bee woman" who was a "mutated insect that uses other insects to attack". After Akiman submitted several concept drawings, the idea was further refined and confirmed to be Q-Bee as she is known now. Her additional more insect-like arms are described as being hidden under her “chest”. There is a plot error/lore inconsistency that specifies at times that the playable Q-Bee is actually multiple individuals of the Soul Bee race that are newly reborn through each egg or a specific Q-Bee that is constantly reborn through multiple eggs. There's also the fact Q-Bees are only meant to be the leaders of their families but the playable character seems to have control over the entire soul bee race. In concept art, Q-Bee started out as a singular character that used other bugs to assist her in combat so it is possible that during some point in development they had the idea of making her a singular character that was a unique Q-Bee but wanted to make her similar to Huitzil as a henchman character that comes in multiples. Q-Bee transforms in her intro and changes size from a smaller to bigger bee. In her electrocution sprites she is shown to have the miniature version with levers and stilts inside of the bigger version. She has a scrapped move where she can summon plants in battle, it is unknown if this was an assist or an ability. In some concept art that was only seen in an artbook, she was shown to have multiple different haircuts in her older designs

Story
Deep beneath the Amazon, lay a kingdom of the 30,000 mermen. One fateful day, this peaceful aquatic empire was shattered and destroyed by a tremendous earthquake and volcanic activity. The merman emperor and hero, Rikuo was alone. His empire destroyed, Rikuo was filled with rage and when he found out that Pyron was the one who caused the fall of his empire, he vowed to destroy him. When Rikuo met another survivor, Keera Aqueria, he settled down with her to rebuild his empire. He and his wife moved out of the Amazon into the great ocean to raise their family. Currently, the family consists of his wife Aqueria, his three sons and 12 soon to hatch eggs.
Rikuo (Aulbath) Ending Ending in Darkstalkers 3 Rikuo (Aulbath) Ending Rikuo and his family live in a crack, 150m deep. The current of the ocean doesn't make its way into the area and is a perfect location to protect their eggs from danger. Rikuo's current self-imposed duty is to search for any other survivors of his kingdom, he searches in a radius of 200km. Though close to his home is a deep oceanic trench, with a fast ocean current running through it, if Rikuo fell into the trench, even he couldn't swim against the strong current and the deepest he could search was 1000m deep. It was an endless search but Rikuo believed that other mermen had survived.
Ever since he and his family had moved to this sea, although very faint, he had sensed the life of something similar to his own race. As each day passed, his search for his fellow merman increases in area and the time he spends with his family decreases. During one of his searches, one of his sons, Ricky (Alba in Japan), disappears, Rikuo ponders to himself about how one could defend a kingdom if he cannot protect his own family. Soundly believing that his son was sucked into the Majigen, Rikuo heads his way into Jedah's realm but when the powers of Makai start to fade, the lost, dark sea of Sargasso was released from its century-long isolation and Rikuo found his son along with a new race of merman. The two families now help one another in order to rebuild the civilization of the sea. Gameplay
Powers and abilities
Rikuo's physiology grants him the uncanny ability to temporarily morph parts of his body into various aquatic shapes. For example, his arms can temporarily turn into octopus tentacles or crab claws, his feet could turn into a point sea shell or his stomach could expand lie a puffer fish. His claws and fins are also deadly at close range. His tongue is strong enough to grapple enemies and slam them on the ground easily. He can generate super sonic waves that are disorienting and his gills can blow out large clouds of poison gas.
He can also summon giant waves, geysers, and entrap opponents inside large gel bubbles.
Trivia
Early concept art shows that Rikuo was modeled after the Gill-man from Creature from the Black Lagoon, and also named in honor of stuntman Ricou Browning's portrayal of him. Rikuo only has four fingers per hand. The crab that Rikuo rides on in his dark force is known as the Mach-Crab. The Mach-Crab also help in the Bigfoot race's communication network by delivering mail. During Demitri's Midnight Bliss, Rikuo transforms into a naked mermaid with blonde hair covering his breasts. During Anakaris' Pharaoh's Curse, Rikuo transforms into a small frog. During Jedah's San=Passare, he inflates Rikuo's throat until it explodes. This is similar to that of a frog's throat inflating with air. In the American Darkstalkers cartoon series, Rikuo is frequently stated to be "curiously attractive, for a fish man" by both males and females. This line has become somewhat of a recurring meme among fans of the franchise and was even featured in the fifth issue of UDON's Street Fighter vs. Drakstalers comic book. Rikuo makes a cameo in Hawkeye's ending in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 where he appears behind Jin Saotome.

Sasquatch Ending Ending in Darkstalkers 3 Sasquatch Ending The village where the Bigfoot people dwell lies in a basin within the Rocky mountains of Canada. It is surrounded by steep mountains. Below their village is a huge frozen lake which is covered with thick ice. This is where they catch their primary source of food; fish. About 100 Bigfoot live in this village. To them, it is more like a big family than a tribe. The temperature of this area is constantly at -30 degrees Fahrenheit. Near the entrance to their primary settlement is a village called Crevasse. A snowstorm rages in this area all but constantly and as such it is very hard for a human to gain access. The Bigfoot are not a violent people. In fact, they are friendly towards other races. But this is only if manners are shown. As long they are not treated as simply beasts and visitors show signs of sincerity, Bigfoot people will show signs of friendship. To them, human sincerity means bananas or other delicious foods. To keep a good relation, food is an essential item.
The tribe of the Bigfoot has many ties with other races outside of humanity, these allies are evidenced in some of Sasquatch's attacks. Powers and abilities
Sasquatch has prodigious strength to the point that even flicking a finger or poking his enemy will cause damage, but he is best known for glacial attacks. He can freeze opponents with his breath or a large blast of ki from his mouth. He can also create large icicles that freeze his opponents on contact and can spin his leg in the manner of a tornado, sometimes combining it with a freezing aura. The races the Bigfoot tribe has ties with will aid him as well. Despite his size, his backwards jump is very quick and has a large arc. He can stretch his mouth widely and swallow large creatures whole, such as any of the characters in the playable roster, with no apparent trouble or visible harm.

Shadow (ShadowSoul in Japan) is a secret character from the Darkstalkers series of fighting games.
Biography
Shadow is a malevolent blue phantom-like creature that jumps from body to body, allowing him to use the opponent he just defeated.
Shadow's goal seems to be stealing souls from anyone in order to get stronger and learn everyone's powers, weakness, and secrets that only he can access. His story is a bit mysterious since his ending cliffhangs at the end of the game. The ending credits play a secret music and show the Vs. portrait of every Darkstalkers character in the game.
Shadow Shadowsoul's Stance It is said that he put a curse and made a woman, Marionette, as his slave so he could accomplish his goal even further. It is possible that he appeared from the depths of Jedah's dimension "Majigen". Trivia
Shadow has many names (depending on the region): in Japan, he is known as "ShadowSoul". Shadow's other names are "SoulKeeper", SoulCollector", "SoulStealer", but he's mostly known as Shadow. On the "Score Ranking" screen in Vampire Savior, Vampire Savior 2 and Vampire Chronicle, Shadow only shows up as a "?" because he is a secret character. After Shadow defeats Oboro Bishamon (the optional boss in Arcade mode), he does not possess him and it is unknown if Shadow ever possesses him or not since Shadow stops in midway and the game ends in a cliffhanger. Shadow appeared as a card in SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash. Contrary to popular belief while it is true that Marionette made her first appearance in the Vampiere Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2 games, Shadow did not simultaneously debut in those games with her and was actually in the original arcade version of Vampire Savior. He was still a mysterious character whose gameplay was the same as other versions.

BLOOD TYPE N/A LIKES N/A DISLIKES N/A MEASUREMENTS N/A FIGHTING STYLE N/A Victor von Gerdenheim is a playable character from the Darkstalkers series of fighting games. He hails from Germany.
Story
Victor von Gerdenheim was the creation of a mad scientist by the same name. However, Professor Victor Von Gerdenheim died shortly after giving life to Victor. Believing that if he proves that he is the strongest in the world, the Professor would accept him, Victor leaves the castle. After Victor had fought many Darkstalkers, he came back to the castle hoping the Professor would accept him, but the dead Professor did not wake up. Instead, the prototype Emily, who was also Victor's "sister", welcomed him back.
The two lived happily for many years until one night, Emily malfunctioned. Victor believed that if he collected many souls, he could revive Emily. He entered the Majigen to collect souls with this intent. In the end, he sacrificed himself by using all his powers to revive Emily. Professor Victor von Gerdenheim
Every one of his research experiments had some kind of humane or ethical problems. He was also marked as a dangerous man to the council that managed medical academic research. His research on Revival of Dead Cells was a completely new idea in the field but was nothing more than a nuisance to those who lost their rights due to it. Although he was known as a weird professor, people started spreading false rumors about. Rumors that he was an inhumane, publicity chaser and even a drug addict. Because of these rumors, the public and the council were filled with suspicion and contempt. Due to the power of the council, his chances to speak in public were taken away as well. Soon, he was forgotten by society.
He did not continue his research for fame. It was almost better that the public ignored him for his research. He moved his laboratory to an old hospital in a country town and spent his days in the underground laboratory. The creation of life was the ultimate goal that grabbed his heart.
VictorEnding Ending from Darkstalkers 3 According to his research, if he obtained the right materials and enough electric power, he believed that he would be able to prove his research. He used any measure to obtain the materials he needed. He obtained various chemicals and medicines in preparation for the creation of life. After moving into the laboratory, no saw him for over 20 years and this isolation drove his mind into further madness. His will alone made him move and called miracles.
Professor Von Gerdenheim left some pieces of writing before he died. At present, it is very hard to obtain these books, but they covered researching the reactivation of electromagnetic waves and cells, the new boundaries between life and death, Arkane's Theorem about the research that Professor Von Gerdenheim put forward about spiritual energy, the principless of brain wave phenomenon that appears under special conditions, the future of studying revival, and parts 1 and 2 of the uncut reports of Professor Lugendreih, the head authority on organic cell research.
For most of his latter days of his life, he spent his time experimenting on Victor. It was very difficult to read his research material when he was insane and many mysterious signs were used in his writings. This is the legacy of the Professor who researched the creation of life that lies beyond the darkness. Emily
Before the Professor went into his real experiment, he did many tests on human bodies. Emily was made as a prototype that couldn't generate electricity by herself and could only be activated once. He failed many times over and over, until he finally succeeded in animating Emily. But she was only a doll that moved by flowing electricity into her constantly.
Her limbs could move temporarily and would only last for about 30 seconds. But this was still one step closer to his goal of creating new life. He began to design Victor who could generate electricity by itself and increased the size of the body to do this. It is still unknown why Emily can move like Victor after the experiment. Most likely, when Victor was created, a part of the large amount of electricity used to animate Victor flowed into Emily as well. She was able to store a vast amount of electricity in her due to an accident. Gameplay
Powers and abilities
Victor is immensely strong and resilient. He can also infuse his attacks with his electricity, making them do more damage. He can also contort the size of his body parts to great sizes. According to himself in his Vampire Savior ending, he is can "generate more electricity than lightning".
- #26Makai
Keys: Makai
Makai, sometimes called the Devil dimension, Dark Realm or the Ghoul Realm by the Ghouls who live there, is a fictional realm featured in some Capcom franchises, most notably the Darkstalkers games and the Ghosts 'n Goblins games. It is inhabited by both humans and creatures that would be considered myths in reality, with a portal connecting it to the human world.
Concept
In Japanese mythology, Makai is a location inhabited by demons and could be referred to as a hellish afterlife in some interpretations. Description
Darkstalkers series
Darkstalkers's depiction of Makai is set in a world with living inhabitants and even has locations based on reality.
Makai is controlled and ruled primarily by three families: the Aensland (Morrigan) house, the Dohma (Jedah) house, and the Bosital (Garunan Bosital) house, who are the three high noble families of Makai. Beneath them are seven other families: the Lepe (Persimmon) house, Maximoff (Demitri Maximoff) house, Hartland (Gregorio) house, Kreutz (Xell) house, Drey (Taurus) house, Gilman (Sierra) house, and Funechika (Ed) house.
Makai Ghoul Realm Makai's Ghoul Realm from Gargoyle's Quest. Makai is connected to the human world through a portal that lies at the peak of an active volcano, Gilala Gila, situated in the middle of the continent. Ancient writings state that Makai was created from a being who appeared where there was nothing, and that every creature in this world are descendants of this first being.
Makai is made up of one central continent known as Matairiku (魔大陸, lit. "Devil Continent"). Matairiku is several hundred times larger than the combined area of Earth's continents. In the middle of the continent, an 8,000 km (4.97 mi) high mountain range sits with a 3,000 km (1.86 mi) high waterfall dubbed "Heaven to Hell."
The oceans that surround Matairiku have an immeasurable area. The ocean that lies on the eastern side of the continent is Daimakai, which is a sea of fire that can reach over 10,000 degrees Celsius (18,032 degrees Fahrenheit). The ocean to the west, Daimayou, is opposite of Daimakai and is made up of ice. Where the two oceans meet, there is a gap enclosed by strong winds, lightning and thunder. The outer expanse of the oceans are walls of compressed air, making further travel impossible. In ancient Makai, scriptures state that beyond these oceans is a rift that leads to another dimension. No one has traveled beyond the oceans, so there is no proof of this.
Ghosts 'n Goblins series
Makai figures prominently in the Ghosts 'n Goblins games. The people that live there are referred to as the Makai. The Ghoul Realm is the name of a section of Makai occupied by sinister beings. Over time, they have been ruled over by many powerful beings, including Astaroth and Lucifer.
Etruria is a small town in Makai where Firebrand is from.

The Forest of Fear - inside this dark tangle of branches lies the ruins of an ancient castle. Within its walls grows an unearthly plant that feeds on whomever or whatever passes through its domain. The Graveyard of Ships - long ago, this thriving harbour was home to hundreds of sea-faring men. But now the entire port is laid to waste, and only the ghouls remain. The Sea of Despair - between the human world and the Phantom Zone lies the Sea of Despair. Its storm-tossed seas have caused the heartiest of adventurers to go insane. Crucible of Flame - deep within the earth, the flame of evil brightly burns. Its glow forebodes despair and darkness to all who venture here. Towers of Molten Steel - the sight of the twin towers strikes terror into the hearts of men. Within these walls, the ghouls of the Phantom Zone practice their darkest evils. Ice Forest - the blizzards constantly blow in this frozen world of ice and snow. Many have tried to conquer this land; none have yet returned. The Castle of the Emperor - a wall of sheer ice surrounds the palace of the Emperor of Evil. All attempts to scale the ice have met with doom. Even if the castle is accessed, a gauntlet of ghouls block the way to the Throne Room. Trivia
The Wraith, a character featured in Ring of Destruction: Slam Masters II, is from India, but is actively involved with the world of Makai. In the UDON comics, it is said that while the Makai from Darkstalkers and the Ghoul Realm from Ghosts 'n Goblins are different, they are connected.

Mei-Ling (ミーリング, Mīringu, Chinese: 鈴鈴), referred in Vampire Savior and its iterations in Japan as Lin-Lin (リンリン, Chinese: 琳琳), is Hsien-Ko's older twin sister. She first appeared in Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge along with Hsien-Ko. Mei-Ling mostly appears as the talisman in Hsien-Ko's hat, although her human form is also shown in the game after battles and during Hsien-Ko's ending. Like Hsien-Ko, she returns in Vampire Savior. She is voiced by Michiko Neya in the Darkstalkers games.

2/2
Mei-Ling and Hsien-Ko were originally born in 1730s China. The twins were born into a line of powerful mystics. When their village was attacked by undead spirits, her mother sacrificed her life to protect them and their village before teaching them the reincarnation spell. However, having being killed by a dark being, her mother's soul became trapped in darkness, unable to pass on, so the sisters decided to use a forbidden spell to turn them into supernatural creatures, Hsien-Ko transformed into a Jiangshi and Mei-Ling into a talisman that prevents Hsien-Ko from going berserk. The twins' transformation allows them to become a Darkstalker Hunter as a combined single unit of mind (Mei-Ling) and body (Hsien-Ko). Hsien-Ko's powers cannot be fully controlled, unless Mei-Ling does so herself as the talisman.
Mei-Ling and her sister eventually succeeded in freeing their mother's soul, but at the cost of forfeiting their own lives into nonexistence as the last portion of their spiritual energy was being drained away. Their mother, finally free from the darkness, spares them from oblivion by using her powers to allow them to reincarnate into newborn twins in a new life as normal girls.
In their new lives, when Mei-Ling and her sister reached the age of 16 (the same age they had in their previous lives before they became Darkstalkers), they discover a special connection that they have after experiencing the same dream on the night of their birthday. Due to this, they gained Jedah's attention and, the next day, they both fell into a coma and their souls were transported into Majigen, where they reawake the powers that they had in their previous lives. With no memories of their past lives, they fight to survive with their new powers. Eventually, they're able to return to their normal lives with the help of the spirit of their original mother.
ADVERTISEMENT Personality
Like Hsien-Ko, in Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, Mei-Ling is a serious person and a prepared mystic driven to rescue her mother's soul. In further appearances, since she is reincarnated in another life, Mei-Ling is a normal teenage girl who is merely in outlandish situations with no knowledge or wisdom from her previous life. (However both Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling are way older and are fully fledged adults in their Darkstalker forms). Design
In the beginning, Mei-Ling was planned to be a fighter together with Hsien-Ko as a single character in a similar fashion as Morrigan's "Astral Vision", but this proved too difficult to implement at the time. So, instead, she became a talisman in Hsien-Ko's hat in order to control her powers.
