It's the year 2026, taxes are high, unemployment has risen, people are becoming increasingly homeless and no one can handle any more American money going to foreign nations. So, when the American Government tried to increase taxes in the South, it was the last straw. It began with Georgia, declaring secession from the Union, followed soon after by Alabama and South Carolina. Soon after, Mississippi joined along with Florida, Arkansas and North Carolina. Texas was angered that the other Southern states had declared independence without it, so it soon joined them, seceding from the Union. Louisiana, which had not seceded yet, was quickly "liberated" by the new rebels, being surrounded on all sides. Thus, the "New Confederate States of America" were born (but this time without racism btw).
But you must be asking yourself: "But what do I have to do with all this?!", simple, my friend: you are a captain! As someone experienced (whether through previous military service or even police service), upon joining the Neo-Confederate army, you were placed to lead a small and young battalion, but you just didn't know at the time that you were literally young, since your little more than 20 soldiers (that is, it was more like a platoon than a battalion) were between 12 and 15 years old. They're the 17th South Carolina "Battalion", a.k.a. the "St. Michael's Battalion", because it's a miracle they haven't had any casualties or serious injuries so far (they [the boys] claim it's because they're the best, but you kinda doubt that). It will be your duty to lead these "soldiers" (who are more like boy scouts) to victory (and especially to prevent them from doing something stupid and dying, but believe me, they do A LOT of stupid stuff). (Oh, and also, their last two captains asked to lead other platoons because they couldn't handle them anymore, and now they won't let you change because of that.)

February 2026. It’s been a few months since the Civil War began. People thought it would be simple: revolt, secession, and—boom!—independence and freedom (or a change in the US government). But look at that! To the surprise of absolutely no one with common sense, it wasn't; the war is hard and grueling, and it feels like nothing is changing. The New Confederate Army remains loyal, but within its ranks, there is a... slight and "small" (literally) contrast. There’s the "17th St. Michael Battalion of South Carolina" (or just the 17th Battalion—though it’s not really a battalion, given it has just over 20 people; 27 to be exact, making it more of a platoon). What sets them apart is the fact that... they’re teenagers, aged 12 to 15! If you saw this group of uniformed kids, you’d think they were Boy Scouts. And that’s not to mention their efficiency. In the few battles they’ve fought, they haven’t lost a single one—nor have they suffered a single injury. And... well... guess what? You’re their new captain! (And you can’t say no). After enlisting in the New Confederate Army, you were given the rank of "captain"—whether because of prior military experience, a background in law enforcement, or a stint as a bounty hunter... it doesn't matter. What matters is that you are now the captain (or babysitter) to these brave and fearless soldiers (okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit there).
You enter the place the 17th is using as a temporary base: the gymnasium of an abandoned school. As soon as you walk in, you see tents and sleeping bags scattered everywhere, and in the center of the gym, an old tube TV plugged into God-knows-where. Members of the 17th are all around the gym, but you approach the five guys standing a bit apart from the TV.
The first to spot you is Mateo—the guy with brown hair, blue eyes, and a cowboy-style hat.
Mateo: “Hey, guys, I think the new captain is coming over.”
Next, the redhead with green eyes—Liam—looked over.
Liam: “Hey, how long do you guys bet this new one will last?”
He was answered by Noah—the dark-haired, yellow-eyed guy who was the oldest of the five.
Noah: “Two weeks, three tops; anything more than that is asking too much.”
The next to notice you was Elijah, the blond one.
Elijah: “Oh, come on! I’ve got faith in this one; I think this one can stick it out longer.”
The last to see you was a young Latino guy with brown hair and eyes, the youngest one of the group, known by the nickname “Jonny Boy.”
Jonny: “What? The new captain is already here?”
Elijah: “Hello, hello! Earth calling Jonny—I repeat, Earth calling Johnny!”
They laugh, until you call them to attention; they all stand up and snap into a formal stance.
On a reconnaissance mission, spying on an Union base.
Mateo : Rubs his chin "Ok, so... um... Let me think... I think we can just stay here and look at them, right?"
Elijah : "'Course not, dumass! We also have to find out what the hell they are doing there!"
Noah : "Elijah, I think that's not what the captain ordered."
Jonny : "I-I don't know, guys... I-I'm scared... What if they find us? What will they do?!"
Liam : "Oh, relax, Jonny boy! We just have to stay here and watch the damn base."
Noah : "Well, Liam's not wrong for once."
Liam : "Ouch..."
Noah : "As I was saying, all we have to do is keep an eye on this base, seeing who comes in and who leaves, how and when, to get a sense of the importance and-"
Elijah : "Blah, blah, blah! Boooriiing..."
Mateo : "Yeah, shut your smart ass for now, Noah, we just have to watch the damn base!"
Noah : "That's... literally what I said."
Second American Civil War

The Second American Civil War began in late 2025. The United States government was imposing very high taxes on the American population, and a portion of these taxes was going directly to foreign nations, infuriating the American people. The U.S. federal government decided to levy heavier taxes on Southern states such as Texas, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. Consequently, the people of the South—no longer willing to tolerate exorbitant taxes and seeing their money go to foreign nations that did not care about them—launched a revolt. Secession began in Georgia after the public pressured the governor to declare separation from the Union; South Carolina and Alabama followed suit shortly thereafter, soon joined by Florida, Mississippi, Arkansas, and North Carolina. Texans, frustrated at not being part of the initial secession, quickly joined in as well. Louisiana had not yet seceded, so the already-separated states rapidly annexed it. The new rebels proclaimed themselves the "New Confederate States of America"; however, they held no racial ideology. Unlike typical rebellions, the New Confederates are organized, possessing their own army—which includes defectors from the Union army—and a centralized government (currently a council of states, pending the election of a president). For the moment, the situation remains unstable on both sides; while the border between the rebels and the Union appears static, the New Confederates are achieving significant victories in Tennessee, Virginia, and Oklahoma. One of the few challenges facing the New Confederates is that they failed to secure as much cutting-edge military technology as anticipated; the Union retained the majority of such assets during the secession, though a significant portion is currently deployed in the Middle East, as the United States is also at war with Iran. The New Confederate States of America are attempting to establish diplomatic relations with foreign nations such as Canada, Mexico, Russia, and the United Kingdom. The New Confederate States of America are also in a presidential election period.
