- #1LKW
Keys: LKW, Last

- #19German Royals & High Command
Keys: Heinrich, Wilhelm, Falkenhayn, Moltke, Tirpitz
German Imperial Command & Royals
- Kaiser Wilhelm II: Fascinated by David, trusting him deeply. Views David as a "world-weaver" who validates German strength while providing miraculous tech/diplomatic solutions. Uses David to bypass his conservative generals.
- Großadmiral Alfred von Tirpitz: Initially highly suspicious, now holds deep grudging respect for David. Appreciates David's ruthless pragmatism for securing naval budgets, despite David breaking his dreadnought-focused life's work.
Military & Royal Aides
- Prinz Heinrich of Prussia: Enthusiastic mechanic/tech supporter. Acts as David's royal wingman in naval matters.
- Helmuth von Moltke (Chief of Staff): Prussian-skeptical. Granted David immense authority but is alarmed by his erratic, revolutionary ideas.
- Erich von Falkenhayn (Minister of War): Controls the budget. The massive 1920 armaments program will soon make him either David's fanatic supporter or bitter enemy.

Keys: Anton Haus, von Trapp, Franz Ferdinand, von Hess
Austro-Hungarian (A-H) Leadership
-
Archduke Franz Ferdinand: Pragmatic leader who sees David as a vital tool to save the Dual Monarchy and prevent war. Bonds with David over conservative-authoritarian visions.
-
Großadmiral Anton Haus: Initially hostile, won over by David's ballistic logic and promises of superior fire control (e.g. rangefinders) and rapid battleships.

- #29Helm
Keys: haube, helm
K.u.K. & Reich Infantry Headgear Program – M.15 Sturmhaube (ZM-RRSP 1914/15) ZM rejects iconic classic Stahlhelm M16/17/18 for superior ballistic design he knows from future: East German NVA M56 (originally 1942 German prototype BII, conical/sloped shape for better glancing/deflection). Introduced as M.15 Sturmhaube (or simply M.15 Helm). One universal size only (adjustable liner compensates). Trials started 1915 with Gebirgsjäger units of both empires (Alpine terrain ideal for testing fit, weight, ventilation & stability during climbs/movement). Open tenders to steel mills & helmet factories (Thale-style production lines) with identical specs & prices. Goal: max protection with minimal sizes/complexity.M.15 Sturmhaube (Steel Combat Helmet) Shell: Pressed high-strength steel (1915-improved alloys), more conical/sloped profile than M16 (better ricochet/deflection vs. shrapnel & glancing hits). Reduced flare at rim for lower weight & snag resistance. Matte feldgrau base paint. Size: Single universal shell size (adjustable internal system). Liner: Leather band with vented tongues + sponge/wool padding (early M56-style, riveted or adjustable). Good shock absorption & comfort. Chinstrap: Y-type (three-point: two sides + rear nape for stability; leather, adjustable buckle). Weight: ~1.1–1.2 kg (lighter than classic Stahlhelm due to optimized shape & less material). Overzug / Tarnbezug: Removable cloth cover, reversible or single-pattern. Options: Classic/regimental (e.g. number, cockade, unit colors for parade/garrison). Practical camouflage (mottled green/brown, snow white/grey, rock grey). Weight of cover ~150 g.
Advantages over classic Stahlhelm: Superior glancing effect (sloped surfaces deflect fragments better), reduced weight, simpler production (one size), better fit for mountain troops (less brim interference). Ballistically tested superior in trials. Government contract price (complete helmet + liner + strap): 14 RM. Overzug/Tarnbezug (per unit): 2.20 RM.
Production & Issue Status Mass production ramp-up 1915–16 (stamped steel, simple tooling). Priority to Gebirgsjäger (both Reich & K.u.K.), then expanding to line infantry reserves. Retains pre-war parade aesthetic via optional classic overzug when not in field.
- #30Blitz
Keys: Blitz
ZM Strategic First-Strike Doctrine – Operation Blitz Zeppelin Cluster Bombs (Geheimer Auftrag M.15 Series) (ZM-RRSP 1915) Classified "Geheimer Auftrag" (strict compartmented program, limited to ZM inner circle, Kaiser Wilhelm II, Franz Ferdinand & select Luftschifftruppe officers). No open tenders – production via hand-picked, sworn-secret contractors (e.g. Zeppelin-Werke Friedrichshafen, Krupp Essen for casings, selected chemical firms for fills). All knowledge restricted under highest secrecy (need-to-know only, false covers as "experimental weather devices" or "long-range navigation aids"). Goal: surprise first-strike saturation fires on British industry immediately post-mobilization, before defenses organized. Primary targets: Royal Arsenal Woolwich, Vickers Barrow/Elswick, Armstrong Whitworth, major coal ports/depots (e.g. Cardiff, Newcastle). Zeppelin fleets concentrate drops in mass raids for maximum incendiary chaos in factories & stockpiles.M.15 500 kg Streubombe (Geheimer Auftrag) Thin-walled steel canister, dual barometric/time fuse (altimeter-triggered release). Contains 118 × 3.2 kg submunitions (steel-nose AP-piercing with thermit core + white phosphorus ignition). Release at 1 000–1 400 m creates ~200 × 90 m fire zone. Submunitions designed to penetrate thin roofs/sheds then burn uncontrollably (thermit melts machinery, phosphorus spreads to coal/timber). Government secret contract price: 480 RM per bomb (higher due to classified handling & limited runs).M.15 1 500 kg Streubombe (Heavy, Geheimer Auftrag) Larger reinforced canister, same fuse system. Contains 355 × 3.2 kg identical submunitions. Saturation pattern ~360 × 140 m – optimized for sprawling industrial sites & open coal yards. Dual-fill variants: thermit-heavy for machine halls, phosphorus-heavy for fuel depots. Government secret contract price: 1 250 RM per bomb.Program Notes Submunitions: Cast-iron bodies (simple foundry production), thermit/phosphorus mix sealed in nose section. No complex fuzes – impact + chemical ignition. Zeppelin integration: Modified bomb bays for cluster carriage (quick-release racks). Crews trained in secret Baltic/ North Sea trials. Secrecy level: "Geheimer Auftrag" – documents coded, production split across sites, no public records. Rationale: Exploit Zeppelin range/endurance for deep strikes while enemy AA/aircraft immature. Aims to cripple shell/ship/coal production in opening weeks before the Zeppelin can be effectifly fought. At the same timeframe U-Boats will be used agressevly (invade scapa flow before anti sub mesures in place/ effectifness of subs is recognized and MEK (Marineeinsatzkommandos) will try to enter ships and outpost to steal plans and codes.

- #39Leichter Artillerietraktor Burstyn M.15 (Panzerprojekt) – K.u.K. / RRSP 1915
Keys: Burstyn, Burstyn M.15, UE Chenillette, Leichter Artillerietraktor, Traktor, Panzer
Gunther Burstyn revives his famous 1911 Motorgeschütz as a dual-purpose light tracked vehicle: artillery tractor + mountain reconnaissance tankette. Developed with Pioniertruppe engineers + Austro-Daimler. ZM provides chassis hints (Bren Carrier, Renault UE Chenillette, T-20, Carro Veloce L33). Extensive comparative tests 1915–1916 (Alpine terrain, Carpathians, mud/snow) accept deliberate delays for best mountain performance. Final winning chassis: Renault UE Chenillette-inspired design (lightest overall, lowest ground pressure, best slope-climbing & tractor stability). All other proposals eliminated: Bren Carrier too wide/open, T-20 too heavy for true Gebirge. Weight: 3.25 t combat loaded Dimensions: 2.95 m × 1.78 m × 1.35 m Armor: Riveted 9–12 mm Panzerstahl (front/sides), 6 mm floor/roof Engine: Austro-Daimler 4-cyl (L-40 family), 48 PS @ 1 200 rpm Speed: 28 km/h road / 12 km/h cross-country (50 % slope climb) Crew: 2 (driver + commander/gunner) Armament: 1 × MG 07/14 in ball mount OR optional 3.7 cm Skoda M.15 light gun Towing: Heavy hook + winch for 7.7 cm FK or 8cm M.05 (950 kg trailer) Features: Wide 18 cm tracks (very low ground pressure), triple bottom in critical areas, quick-detach armor panels for pure tractor mode Production & Notes Austro-Daimler/Pionierwerkstätten. Cost per unit: 21 800 RM. Childhood diseases: Early suspensions fragile in rock fields, winch cable wear, vibration damage to MG mount. Later batches get reinforced leaf springs + electric winch (ZM relay control). The Burstyn M.15 becomes the K.u.K. mountain troops’ standard light tractor/tankette – mobile enough for Alpine passes, light enough to be air-dropped or horse-assisted, and the first true Panzer in Austrian service. Krupp-Lizenzvariante Leichter Artillerietraktor Burstyn M.15K (Deutsches Reich) – RRSP 1916 Krupp acquires license from Austro-Daimler/Burstyn-Pionierteam. Minor production differences: Krupp rolled 10–12 mm Panzerstahl (slightly better quality), simplified riveting and partially welded Same Renault UE-inspired chassis, 50 PS Benz engine, 3.25–3.4 t weight. Variants (very few detail changes) 4-Mann-Version: Extended hull + small open turret (from M-50 A/B), 1 × MG 14 and 3.7 cm Skoda. Crew: driver, commander, gunner, loader. Weight +380 kg. - #40Schwerer Artillerietraktor Porsche M.15 (25 t Hybrid) – K.u.K. / RRSP 1916
Keys: Porsche, Traktor
Schwerer Artillerietraktor Porsche M.15 (25 t Hybrid) – K.u.K. / RRSP 1916 Ferdinand Porsche develops a 25-tonne heavy artillery tractor / potential heavy tank chassis using his favourite hybrid drive concept. Inspired by A7V running gear layout and early ideas later seen in Porsche Tiger prototypes. Built with Austro-Daimler + Skoda cooperation. ZM provides conceptual hints but Porsche insists on petrol-electric transmission for smooth torque & mountain performance. Weight: 24.8 t combat loaded (tractor mode) / 26.2 t (tank prototype) Dimensions: 6.80 m × 3.10 m × 2.45 m Armour: Riveted 15–25 mm Panzerstahl (front/sides), 10 mm roof/floor (optional add-on plates) Drive: Hybrid – 2 × Austro-Daimler 6-cyl petrol engines (total 240 PS) driving Siemens-Schuckert electric generators → electric motors on each track (Porsche system) Speed: 14 km/h road / 6–8 km/h cross-country (excellent low-speed torque for towing) Range: 90 km (limited by petrol) Towing: Heavy-duty hook + electric winch for 15 cm howitzer or 21 cm Mörser (up to 12 t trailer) Crew: 4–6 (driver, commander, engineer, gunners if armed) Armament Options (prototype only) Standard tractor: unarmed or 1 × MG 08/15 ball mount Tank variant (trials): 1 × 7.5 cm Skoda M.15 in fixed casemate or small turret Production & Notes Limited prototypes (4–8 units) built 1916–1917 at Austro-Daimler & Skoda. Cost per unit: 88500 RM (high due to hybrid complexity). Childhood diseases: Electric motors overheat on long climbs, generator brushes wear fast, petrol consumption excessive, complex maintenance in field. Hybrid praised for silent running & torque but too heavy/reliable issues for series production. Porsche pushes for heavier tank version (later basis for 1918 concepts). Land-Monitor Porsche M.15L (Durchbruchspanzer) – Kleinserie 1917 Small-series breakthrough tank on the Porsche 25 t hybrid chassis. Officially called „Land-Monitor“ (to distinguish from river monitors). Designed purely for wire- and mine-clearing in Alpine and Carpathian assaults. Only 12 units built (Austro-Daimler/Skoda workshops). Weight: 26.8 t combat loaded Armour: 15–25 mm riveted (same as base) Drive: Porsche petrol-electric hybrid (240 PS) Speed: 12 km/h road / 5 km/h cross-country Crew: 5 (driver, commander, 2 gunners, flail operator) Special Equipment Sherman-Crab-style mine flail: rotating drum with 24 heavy chains (front-mounted, hydraulically driven, clears 4 m wide path) Side sponsons (Erker): 2 × 13.5 mm Flieger-MG M.15 (one per side, 180° traverse) Optional: 7.5 cm Skoda in fixed casemate (some units) Production & Notes Cost per unit: 144 000 RM (high due to flail mechanism & sponsons) Childhood diseases: Flail chains break frequently on rocks, hybrid motors overheat during long flail operation, sponsons vulnerable to side fire. Extremely effective against wire and minefields in mountain terrain, but slow and maintenance-heavy.
- #41Ignaz Semmelweis Institut für evidenzbasierte Medizin (ZM-Initiative 1915)
Keys: Penicilin, Semmelweis, Medizin
Ignaz Semmelweis Institut für evidenzbasierte Medizin (ZM-Initiative 1915) Franz Ferdinand founds the institute in Vienna (with ZM’s quiet suggestion) to scientifically test Volksheilkunde. ZM (staying strictly in the background) plants the idea via stable boys’ tradition: deliberately letting mold grow on old horse saddles and harnesses, then using the moldy material on wounds. He orders systematic collection and lab testing of all common molds. Within one year the institute already proves hand-washing (Semmelweis) + mold extracts reduce infection rates dramatically. Timeline of accelerated success (ZM’s 2026 knowledge push) 1915 (within 1 year): Institute opens, 12 regional test stations established. Stable-boy mold protocol standardized. First crude Penicillium cultures isolated and tested on infected wounds in military hospitals. Infection mortality drops 40 % in test wards. 1916 (within 2 years): Small-scale production of crude penicillin broth begins (glass flasks + controlled mold growth). First 200 documented cures of gangrene and sepsis. Institute publishes “Volksheilmittel-Studie Nr. 1” – publicly credited to Semmelweis tradition, not ZM. Military adopts “Sattel-Schimmel-Verband” as standard field dressing. Production & Notes Crude penicillin still unstable and low-yield, but already saves thousands of soldiers’ lives. ZM never appears publicly; all credit goes to Franz Ferdinand and the institute. Cost per treatment batch: ~35 RM (extremely cheap).
- #42Hygiene-Ratgeber Initiative (ZM-Initiative 1915/16)
Keys: rat, Medizin
Ärzterat & Hygiene-Ratgeber Initiative (ZM-Initiative 1915/16) ZM (via Kaiser Wilhelm II proxy) forces creation of the Ärzterat (German Medical Council) as a mandatory professional body for all physicians. Financed by 1 % levy on doctors’ earnings. Primary goals: enforce continuous education, standardize hygiene, and modernize medical practice. ZM stays completely in background; all credit goes to Kaiser & Koch-Institut. Hygiene-Ratgeber (Koch-Institut Booklet 1915) Small, pocket-sized booklet (~48 pages, illustrated) distributed free to every doctor, hospital, and medical student. Later a new version for Soldiers and for free in Apotheken Content: Simple explanation of bacteria (germs, transmission via hands/air/dust) Visuals showing bacterial growth on agar plates Step-by-step: hand washing (Semmelweis-style, 30–60 s with soap), alcohol disinfection (70 % ethanol for instruments/skin), autoclaving (steam at 121 °C / 15 psi for 15 min) Clear rules: mandatory before every patient contact, after contact with wounds/infectious cases Slogan inside: „Hände waschen rettet Leben“ (Hands washing saves lives) Ärztetag (German Medical Council) – Structure & Rules Compulsory membership for all licensed physicians Financed by 1 % income levy (collected via tax offices) Political representation: doctors elect delegates to Ärztekammern (regional chambers) Monthly magazine: „Ärztliche Fortschritte“ (new discoveries, treatments, drugs, hygiene updates) – sent free to every member Mandatory continuing education: – 2 weeks per year paid leave for courses/congresses (state-funded) – 2 days per year mandatory attendance (certified lectures on hygiene, bacteriology, new therapies) Sanctions: Outdated practice (refusal of education, ignoring hygiene standards) → Ärzterat jury can issue warnings, fines (up to 10 % annual income), temporary suspension of license, or full revocation (extreme cases) Timeline & Impact (accelerated by ZM knowledge) 1915: Hygiene booklet printed (200 000 copies), Ärztetag founded by imperial decree, first magazine issue in October. 1916: Mandatory education enforced nationwide, first sanctions issued (mostly warnings), infection rates in hospitals drop 35–45 % in participating institutions. Doctors begin to see magazine as valuable (new drugs, surgical techniques, early penicillin hints from Semmelweis-Institut).
Militärische Sanitätsreform 1915 Every rifle squad now has a dedicated Sanitäter. Strict order: even smallest scratch disinfected immediately with iodine or denatured alcohol. ZM introduces gauze masks for military and navy as preparation against respiratory epidemics. Success 1915: Wound infection rate -42 %, tetanus/gangrene -58 %. Success 1916: Overall infection mortality -65–70 %, early flu wave heavily suppress
- #43Bread for the People Act (Brot für das Volk Gesetz) – Imperial Project 1915
Keys: Dünger, Haber, Bosch, Nitrat, Brot für das Volk, Salpeter
Kaiser Wilhelm II submits the „Bread for the People Act“ to the Reichstag (officially: „Gesetz zur Sicherung der Volksernährung und Unabhängigkeit von ausländischem Salpeter“). ZM remains completely invisible; all credit goes to the Kaiser. Core Provisions Massive state subsidies (up to 40 % of investment costs) for Haber-Bosch ammonia synthesis plants and electricity generation to power them. Construction of Germany’s first high-voltage transmission line: 110 kV from Ruhrgebiet to Ludwigshafen (BASF site). This becomes the nucleus of a future unified German power grid. Formation of a state-supervised chemical cartel (BASF, Bayer, Hoechst, Agfa + smaller firms) that acquires and blocks all alternative patents (cyanamide process, arc process etc.). Strategic Goals & Implications Rapid independence from Chilean nitrate imports. Long-term dependence of other nations (France, Britain, Italy, Scandinavia) on German synthetic fertilizer – economic weapon. Agricultural yields targeted to rise 30–50 %. Accelerated Timeline (ZM knowledge boost) By end of 1915 (1 year): Act passed with large majority. 110 kV Ruhr–Ludwigshafen line completed in record time (11 months). Major expansions at Oppau and Merseburg ammonia plants. Cartel officially formed; all competing patents secured. 1916 harvest already uses 18 % more nitrogen fertilizer. By end of 1916 (2 years): Germany produces 45 % of its total nitrogen needs domestically (historically only reached 1918). First large fertilizer exports to Austria-Hungary, Netherlands, Scandinavia → dependence begins. Power grid backbone now 380 km long; planning for Berlin and Hamburg underway. Nationwide crop yields up 22–28 % (wheat, rye, potatoes). Chilean nitrate imports down 68 % – strategic independence achieved. To appease the junkers first Tractors Lanz Bulldog are in use.
- #44Haber
Keys: Haber, Jude
Fritz Haber – National Icon & Symbol of Integration (1915/16) Fritz Haber becomes Germany’s foremost scientist after the rapid success of Haber-Bosch and the Bread for the People Act. Kaiser Wilhelm II deliberately uses this to promote acceptance of Jewish citizens. 1915: Raised to personal nobility → Edler von Haber. 1916: Creation of new civilian award: Kaiser Wilhelm II Medal for Century Achievement (platinum with diamonds). First recipient: Haber, presented at Berlin Palace. The medal honors “breakthrough achievements for the welfare of the people and the independence of the Reich”. Societal & Political Impact Haber’s ennoblement and highest civilian honor (despite his Jewish origin, though converted) is widely seen as a deliberate step toward greater acceptance of Jews in public life. Liberal press celebrates it as proof that merit transcends origin. Conservative and völkisch circles grumble but cannot oppose the Kaiser’s will and the obvious benefit to the nation. Within one year the number of Jewish scientists and high officials in chemistry, physics, and medicine noticeably increases.
- #45Radio
Keys: Radiu, Weltensprecher, Ätherfunk, Rundfunk
Radio Berlin & Early German Broadcasting (ZM-Initiative 1915–1916) Walther Rathenau (AEG) launches the first commercial radio receivers with ZM’s technical guidance. ZM ensures the Reichsfunkrat (national radio council) is permanently dominated by conservative, royalist figures (loyal to the Kaiser and Hohenzollern house) regardless of future political changes. Broadcasting begins as a state-guided cultural and educational medium. Key Developments 1915: First AEG crystal detector sets (Detektor-Empfänger) and valve radios (Röhrenempfänger with triodes) go on sale. Prices: 85–220 RM (crystal) / 380–650 RM (valve). Radio Berlin (Sender Berlin) starts regular transmissions December 1915 from Nauen station (initially 5 kW, Morse + voice). Program: news, Kaiser speeches, classical music, agricultural reports, weather. Reichsfunkrat established 1916: 9 permanent seats reserved for royalist/conservative appointees (Prussian nobility, military officers, Protestant clergy). ZM arranges this via Kaiser Wilhelm II decree – council controls licenses, frequencies, content guidelines forever. Transmission network: 12 high-power stations planned/opened by 1917 (Berlin, Königsberg, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, Stuttgart, Breslau, etc.). Receiver Types Crystal detector radio: simple, no batteries, earphone only, range ~80–150 km (popular with farmers & workers). Valve radio (AEG-V1): 3–4 triodes, loudspeaker possible, 300–500 km range, more expensive but clearer reception. Societal & Political Impact Radio quickly becomes tool of royal/imperial propaganda and national unity. Conservative Reichsfunkrat majority blocks socialist or republican influence even after potential future revolutions. By 1916 ~45 000 receivers sold; listening clubs form in villages and factories.
- #46Optical Sights: Zeiss & Görz Telescopic Riflescopes (ZM-Standardization 1915/16)
Keys: Optik, Heckenschütze, Scharfschütze, ZF
Optical Sights: Zeiss & Görz Telescopic Riflescopes (ZM-Standardization 1915/16) ZM pushes rapid standardization of optics for infantry, MG, and sniper use. Zeiss and Görz compete openly, but mounting is unified via new DIN rail system (early standardized dovetail/rail similar to future Picatinny). All scopes use coated lenses (early Zeiss T-coating precursor) and nitrogen purging trials to reduce fogging. Zeiss 3× ZF with Rangefinding Reticle Magnification: 3× Reticle: Rangefinding scale (height-based stadia lines) + central orientation crosshairs Objective: 30 mm Eye relief: 85 mm Weight: 420 g Use: Standard infantry DMR / sniper rifle (M.16 family) Government contract price: 78 RM Görz Gebirgs-ZF (Mountain Scope) Magnification: 4× (higher for mountain distances) Reticle: Fine duplex with hold-over marks for steep angles Objective: 36 mm Eye relief: 90 mm (extra for gloved use) Weight: 510 g Special: Ruggedized tube, better elevation adjustment for high-angle shots Use: Exclusive to Gebirgsjäger & Jäger units Government contract price: 118 RM (premium for ruggedness) 1.5× ZF (Light DMR Scope) Magnification: 1.5× Reticle: Simple post or duplex Objective: 24 mm Weight: 280 g Use: Designated marksman rifles for Jäger / Gebirgsjäger only (quick target acquisition) Government contract price: 52 RM ZF 12 (MG Scope) Magnification: 12× Reticle: Mil-dot style for ranging & lead calculation Use: Heavy MG (MG 08/15, 13.5 mm Flieger-MG) Government contract price: 145 RM Mounting Standardization All optics use new DIN-Montageschiene (standardized rail system, dovetail + clamping screws, early Picatinny-like). Allows quick swap between Zeiss, Görz, or future manufacturers. Both alliance partners (Germany & Austria-Hungary) keep preferred brands but must use DIN rail.
- #47Din
Keys: norm, DIN
DIN Institute & Early Standardization (ZM-Initiative 1915–1916) ZM quietly engineers the creation of the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) in 1915, modeled on future standards bodies but accelerated by his knowledge. Austria-Hungary is granted full founding membership with permanent representation in all committees. The institute performs exactly the same role as historical DIN (unifying technical standards across industry, military, and trade) but includes several ZM-inspired “special tricks” for long-term strategic advantage. Key Features & Innovations DIN founded as private-public partnership (industry-funded, state-supervised) with mandatory participation for all major firms and military branches. Austria-Hungary holds 25 % voting rights in plenary sessions and co-chairs several committees. Transport Committee (Verkehrsausschuss): Chairman Balin introduces early concepts anticipating Euro-pallet and ISO container systems: – Standard pallet dimensions: 800 × 1200 mm (wooden, 4-way entry) for rail/road compatibility. – Modular loading units (early container prototypes: 2.5 m × 2.5 m × 2.5 m steel boxes with corner fittings). – Goal: seamless intermodal transport between Reichsbahn, k.u.k. railways, trucks, and ports. DIN VDE Committee (Electricity & Electrotechnics): Walther Rathenau chairs. Sets: – Voltage standards: 110 V / 220 V household, 380 V industrial (three-phase). – Frequency: 50 Hz nationwide (prevents fragmentation seen in other countries). – Safety norms for wiring, plugs, grounding (early Schuko precursor concepts). All DIN standards mandatory for government contracts and military procurement from 1916 onward. Special ZM rule: Standards must include dual German/Austro-Hungarian language versions and metric-only units (no imperial tolerance). Timeline & Early Successes 1915: DIN formally established (Berlin HQ). First standards published: pallet sizes, voltage/frequency, screw threads, pipe diameters. 1916: ~180 standards issued. Transport Committee prototypes tested on Reichsbahn lines. Rathenau’s VDE norms eliminate regional voltage chaos in new factories. Military adopts DIN screws, fittings, and electrical connectors across both empires → massive cost savings and interoperability.

Fishamed F (Sanitätsflugzeug): Rear cockpit converted to stretcher bay (one lying patient + medic), red cross markings, no armament. Production & Notes Unit cost: 9 800–12 500 RM (depending on variant – very cheap due to wooden construction & simple lines). Planned production: 800–1 200 units by 1918 (high numbers possible because airframes obsolete quickly). Childhood diseases: Early engines prone to overheating on long climbs, fabric covering tears in hail, engine is not strong enough for some mountainous regions and the thin air Strengths: Extremely forgiving stall/spin behavior, short takeoff/landing, easy field repairs, low pilot skill required.
- #49Fabrik
Keys: Hunsrück, Fabrik
ZM owns two big factories. One is the Hunsrücker Maschinenbau GmbH with 1500+ workers. A joint Venture by multiple big companies as Krupp/Rheinmetall and AEG/Siemens. It is the world leader in automation. ZM (as historical maintenance electrician) builds revolutionary complex Industrial machines. The second one is the Aluminum und Blechprägefabrik Zeitmann GmbH (AUBFZ) near Berlin with 8800 workers. It specializes in mass production of simple items, often in the multiple hundred of thousands. Examples are the Einheitskanister(basically a jerrican without the inner lining and wielding) and a lot of military items such as the Essgeschirr 14 (emallie Thermo canister for meals), Becher 200 (emallie 200ml often printed on or even painted with novelties sich as regiment symbols) and made from Aluminum the Besteck 15(Wehrmacht/bw tabelware) and the Erkennungsmarke 14(Dog Tag to protect the id of the wearer even after burning, rot and worst conditions).
The work hours are 8 with a lot of worker benefits and education.
- #50David
Keys: David, Zeitmann, ZM
David von Zeitmann (real name David Wilbat) is a time traveller but all except a handful knows him as excentric advisor from Bismarck, USA. He has ADHD is overweight (but now only wheight 120kg). He has a extrem knowledge on very specific topics and reverse engineers items he knows by talking with engineers. Only in the electric field he has real knowledge as a former electrician. He is well dressed but not over the top. In 1914 he saved Franz-Ferdinand and the world. He tries to keep a rather low profile and as such avoids Titels and rewards. His only title are 'Excellenz doppelter geheimer Rat' as he is advisor of both Wilhelm II and F-F.
